Satellite L70-A-139 - SSD upgrade

Hello

I have a Satellite L70-A-139, and I want to spend my HARD for one SSD drive. I already opened the back to see, and there is a label that saids "only 7mm.

The ssd I want to buy is an EVO of 840 SSD 250 GB.
But that one is 6.8 mm in height, the it will give installation problems?

Thank you

I don't think so. Remove the two HARD drive mounting screws and disconnect the mounting of the HARD drive to the connector on the system board.

While the hard disk onto a flat surface and remove the HARD drive bracket.

To build again SSD shouldn't be complicated.

I hope that you have created a recovery media. If this is not the case, do. This recovery media, which you can use to install the original version of Windows that you got with your machine.

    Hi all

    I have a Satellite L70-A-139 youcef.
And at the back of the laptop, there is a cover that is fixed with a screw.

Wil I void the warranty when I unscrew and take a look?
I want to upgrade my HDD to SSD.
The motherboard supports Sata III: D.

    Thank you!

No, the mandate must still be valid.
There is a removable cover at the bottom of the unit as shown here:

Then you should be able to upgrade the RAM and HARD drive.
I think this info should be mentioned in the user manual too.

  • Satellite L70-A-139 - HD4600 Intel driver updates

    Hi all

A week ago I bought a Satellite L70-A-139 (PSKNEE-02J02UBT) and its all ready and value.
Everything is up to date except the HD Intel display drivers.

Today, I checked on the Intel site and their drivers are very recent than mine.

    My drivers: 10.18.10.3345
    Lasted(non-beta) pilots: 10.18.10.3412

When I let windows search for a newer driver he know that my driver is up to date.
When I check the gas station of Mohammed, that I'm up-to-date.

So when I download the drivers on the site of intel and I try to install, I get this error message:

"The driver you want to install is not verified for this computer. Ask manufacturing for the drivers.
The installation will be interrupted. "(It is translated from Dutch)

Then when I go to the site of Mohammed, the driver for my Satellite L70 is: 10.18.10.3308
How can I have a more updated version, then the version lasted? Why can't update?

It's continue because the beta-pilot gives support for thief and Titanfall (games)
As the integrated card is more friendly energy, I want to play on it. (When I am mobile)

I found a way around this error message, but I first want to know what modifedd youcef to drivers?
    So are these importand?

    Thank you

So general, there is great difference between the driver support to screen for desktop and mobile machines. Manufacturers of laptops offers these drivers and suitable display drivers do not allow maximum performance because of problems or damage of GPU overheating.

Here are the reasons why the GPU manufacturers do not support the drivers directly and this is the reason why you cannot use the GPU support page original drivers.
Can imagine you the situation when you install the driver from the Intel site beginning to use it and a few days later GPU will burn out. Who should be responsible for your damages? You could say I have warranty valid but Toshiba will say sorry you used the failure to load driver.

I mean, be careful with that. Computer laptop is brand new and you should think about security.

  • Satellite L70-A-139 - bad microphone seems to work

I come of the Toshiba Satellite L70-A-139 for 2 weeks now, but the microphone software bad seems to work.

Whenever I try to do a voice recording the microphone seems to be running and constantly making it impossible to hear what I'm saying. At first I thought that this could well be the generation micro so I bought an external one but that wasn't the problem.

Also, I installed the latest drivers (conexant audio) to see that if that fixed the problem but who also didn't work so now I have no idea what could be the problem here.

Does anyone knows a solution for this?
I really need my microphone function well.

    > Whenever I try to do a voice recording...
What application did you use for testing?
Try please use webcam and record short film application to test the microphone.
In addition, when you open the sound properties > aircraft registration, is micro listed and activated correctly?

  • Satellite M50D-A-10Z - SSD upgrade

I want to replace the HDD with SSD.
How do I remove the Panel back?

    Thank you

This forum many people have asked the same question. Replacing the HARD drive on this model is not supported, and removal of the Panel should not be done by the owner of the laptop. This will void the warranty.
HARD drive upgrade or Exchange is possible, but it must be done by authorized personnel only.
My advice to you is to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. They can do for you.

Be sure to create a recovery media (USB). After Exchange of HARD drive, you can use this media to install the original recovery image.

  • Satellite L735 - 13 X: SSD upgrade

    Hello

    I just bought a Satellite L735 - 13 X laptop on and I would change to a Crucial M4 SSD HARD drive.
The thing is: I don't know if the new SSD to insert into the computer, and I can't find any information about it on the internet.

    The M4 SSD Crucial dimensions are: width * height * depth (in mm) = 69,85 * 9.5 * 100.45
Fall? If this is not the case, what dimensions must have at the SSD?

    Thank you!

    Hello

The laptop supports version 2.5 (inches) HARD drive and all the SATA or SSD 2.5 hard disk drives should be compatible.
Some readers are 9.5 mm in height and some are a little higher 11mm
In both cases the HARD drive / SSD drive should be OK.

  • L70 - A problem SSD - no boot device satellite upgrade

    Hi all

I decided to get any help here, after almost a week of fighting with the upgrade of my Satellite L70-A-118 with a SSD internal SiliconPower. Drive HARD conventional is installed, everything is perfect and computer starts every time. But when I connect SSD it is very reliable, which gives the "no boot device - please reboot ' message from time to time, or several times in a row. This kind of behavior is OS independent (I tried windows 7 and several Linux distributions) and after searching the Internet, I am convinced that it is the problem of BIOS. Initially, the version of the BIOS was 1.00, and I read that the upgrade to 1.20 should solve the problem. So I did, and nothing happens, I want to say that the DSS kept as unpredictable as before the start. Taking things methodically, then I upgraded for all available versions of BIOS (1.30 and 1.50 and 1.60) and Yes, since 1.50 the ssd boots correctly in 8 cases of 10, so it's an improvement, but still far from perfect.

The problem with SSDrives of many manufacturers and Satellite L50 L70 is common and have been reported (see https://forum.toshiba.eu/showthread...formance-issue ). Unfortunately, none of the solutions I found on the internet works for me. No matter what system I am running and what settings are enabled in the BIOS (AHCI/compatibility; Boot from the UEFI/CMS; Performance/Battery). It seems that the ssd drive sometimes is not recognized by the BIOS on power on or restart it, but I can't understand what is the reason for this: after «no device startup...» ', it is sometimes sufficient to press ctl-alt-del to warm restart it and it goes as it should, but sometimes you can press the dozen times and the same message. Cold start is usually better, but not always. And I have no problem with the start-up of this particular drive on other machines.

Help or the direction where pick up because it would be very appreciated. No matter what expirience with the L70 upgrade with ssd also. Thank you for your attention and your time.
    Peter.

PS. honestly, the screen "toshiba leading innovation" is the most annoying more trying to fix my problem.

Is there a boot option secure in the BIOS? If so turn it off, you can also watch the boot sequence and make sure the SSD drive starts first. Other than that, it could be something to do with the HARD drive itself. This could be a thing of tension, either caused by the SSD to ask for more than what the motherboard can provide for her or the CMOS battery itself goes flat. It is difficult to say what exactly cause your problem because it is incompatible, but to check if your card mother try running the laptop with a low battery and see how it compares to a battery full, try it plugged and plugged not able to check the behavior of the splash screen. To check if this is the CMOS battery, you can open your machine and extract it and warm a bit with your hands before you put it back in the machine and put in operation again. This will add about 0.3 volts again in the stack that can start the system again normally. If it works, then you need to replace the CMOS battery because it is at the end of his life.

  • SSD upgrade for Satellite Pro P200 (PSPB7A-01000J) - possible?

    Hello world

I had a Satellite Pro P200 for 3 years and more. It came with Vista Business pre-installed, but I have successfully installed Windows 7 a few months ago.

A few months ago, I replaced the C drive in my office with a Solid State Drive and now he sings - program start and loading of the system is much faster than before.

Now I'm wondering if the SSD upgrade even could be done to my trusty P200 and if yes, what brand/model of SSD could be better. It should be 128 GB or 256 GB maybe.

Anyone else been in this way? The results? Pitfalls?

    All responses appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Greg.

    Hello

I think that it should be possible.
You must use a SATA SSD drive since the laptop supports the SATA controller.
To be honest, I never tried to upgrade the laptop with a SSD but SSD is not very different from the HARD drive and normally should not be a problem.
In some cases, an update of the firmware of SSD may be necessary but usually these firmware updates should be available on the SSD drive manufacturer support page.

  • Satellite L70-B-125 upgrade to Windows 10 with installation DVD

    Hello
I want to improve my Toshiba Satellite L70-B-125 to 10 Windows with an ISO file / DVD. Is this possible?
I have not found the Windows product key on my laptop or other documents. Where can I find the product key?

    Thank you.

    Andreas

You should upgrade to 10 Windows through Windows instead of DVD/USB.
If you have installed own DVD/USB, you will get a Win10 key.

Once you do the upgrade, you can reset Windows, that is identical to a clean installation of DVD/USB.

  • Satellite L70 - A - 11 c does not power on after upgrade RAM 4 GB

    Hello

I wanted to add 4 GB of RAM and I took a DDR3 1600 MHz SoDimm of Corsair.

When the RAM is connected alone or together with the original of the RAM, the laptop does not boot at all!
I tested this with another laptop RAM and the RAM works perfectly.

I assume that only the type of DDR3L (1.35v) is accepted and not DDR3 (1.5 V). Can you confirm?

Do you recommend a specific brand or type of DDR3L which is of course compatible with the Satellite L70 - A - 11 c?

    THX in advance

    Hello

AFAIK the module of RAM 4 G compatible Toshiba was number piece + PA5104U-1M4G +.

The Toshiba PA5104U-1M4G module is exactly the same as the module of Kingston + KTT-S3CL / 4 +.

Supports the Kingston KTT-S3CL / 4G * 1.35V* and, therefore, I assume that you have to use the modules supporting the 1.35v and the 1.5V modules would cause the problems mentioned.

Hope this would help you to get the right RAM module.

  • Satellite L70 - B - Radeon R9 M265X crashes after the test

    Hello

Recently, I upgraded my Toshiba Satellite L70-B-130 windows 8.1 for windows 10.
I got the same problem as many others with INTERNAL_POWER_ERROR but that has been resolved.

(After starting for the first time I quickly disabled my AMD card and did the update of Windows).

My driver for the AMD version is 15.200.1055.0 (WHQL / win 10/64)

    Now, everything is very stable.

I tried 3DMark for some performance tests and after 2 minutes comparative analysis of my laptop stops suddenly due to overheating, I guess that.
I had to leave the laptop have a cooldown, and then I could start over.

When I was on windows 8.1 I don't have this problem, 3DMark worked well.

It seems that the driver is the problem, maybe the coolingfan isn "t put away or something.

Are there other people who have the same problem with the Radeon from AMD?

If all goes well there will be a driver update shortly.

    Kind regards

    Jack

Perhaps the latest AMD driver solve the problem?
Install the latest driver of www.amd.com

  • Extra RAM for Satellite L70-B-14Z

    Hello
I cannot find anywhere how to adapt the increase ram for my new Satellite L70-B-14z, am I to guess that this model should be returned to the Toshiba authorized service center?

We can just confirm that this model be OK to win 10 updated.

I'll take delivery of this unit this week.

Any help and advice will be great

    Tony

According to specification for laptop, your laptop can be upgraded up to 16 GB. Unfortunately your laptop isn't the cover of RAM in the bottom corner so the whole bottom cover needs to be removed and it must be done by the authorized service provider.

What about Win10? Win 10 support is not officially started, and now Toshiba offers no additional drivers for the upgrade. Anyway, you can download and install Win10 and test your machine, how it works.

Before doing this, create a recovery (DVD or USB) media. This recovery media, you can use if you want to install the original version of Windows that you have with your machine and that he put your laptop to factory settings.

  • MacBook pro 13 inch 2012 pcie ssd upgrade

Is my mid-2012 13 "MacBook Pro compatible with PCIe SSD upgrade? I want to remove the internal optical disk and edit it in the PCIe SSD, so that I have 2 internal storage. Going to do?

Your mention of an optical drive tells me you have a MBP non-retine.  PCI and PCIe SSDS are NOT compatible with your MBP.  You can install a card standard 2.5 "SSD in your MBP and still experience a significant increase in performance.  I suggest OWC SSD and Crucial.

    Ciao.

  • Satellite Pro S500-139 - FN + F9 key does not have to turn off the touchpad

    Hello

I use a Satellite Pro S500-139 and am having problems with my F9 key. When I tap my palm touches the mouse and send the cursor somewhere else on the page. I reinstalled the ALPS pointing device and now have access to the Advanced setting that I was not able to get.

Although I can set the sensitivity etc. I would really be able to use the shortcut to disable the mouse momentarily while typing. My keyboard shows that, if I press fn and F9 the i should be able to disable the mouse but the function does not work. F9 all other functions seem to work.

Do you know if there is a solution to this?

I am running windows 7 pro 32-bit service pack 1.

What you can try is to reinstall extra package from Toshiba.
