Satellite L755-129 and Win8.1 - cannot access the BIOS settings

Hello

I have a L755-129 satellite and I have the version of windows 8.1 update in my laptop. I want to open the bios of my computer and I can't do it?

What is going on? Also I can't find in the windows recovery Panel. Key F2 and F12 does not work, when I press it, the laptop starts beeping beep and starts in windows.
Can someone help me? I don't want windows 7 I like windows 8.1.

Thank you for your help

It's really good that you posted this question. So far on this forum many people ask the same questions, but all have been at the origin of new machines of Win8.
Now we have the situation with the old machine Win7 but with Win8 preinstalled.

Solution for other people needed to proceed to a complete stop and after doing this, it was possible to enter the BIOS settings. Check it please http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2B03EY0002R01.htm

This situation does not for me so here's a question for you:
When you start your laptop, I guess you can see the Toshiba start screen. With F2 option is shown on the bottom of the screen?

  • Product: HP Pavilion Notebook-PC G7, cannot access the bios settings/turn off the keys f1 - f12, please help!

I got this laptop PC in 2012, it is a series of G7, I'm pretty sure. My problem is that when I turn the computer off and turn it back on, there is no option to open the menu of the bios (esc) or any option besides. Just a symble blue HP directly in the middle of the screen with a symbol of little loading below him. I pressed ESC, f1 - f10 and virtually all other keys to try to access it. What I really want to do is to disable most annoying f1 - f12 function keys.

I'm no longer under warranty and my operating system is Windows 8.  There is also no error at all, just no response what that's right don't charge up to login password screen.

Please help and contribution is appreciated.

I see that you are looking to access the BIOS of your laptop Pavilion. You can't access BIOS in the same way on Windows 8, because you have a faction of a second to get the right timing because of the quick loading of Windows 8 feature. This third party link will show you how to access the UEFI that will lead to the BIOS. You can also do it from the Windows 8 login screen as this Microsoft link will show. Here is a document from HP support disable the function on some models Fn key combination +.

  • X 1 carbon - cannot unlock the Bios settings

    Hello!

For testing purposes, I set a supervisor password and put a lock on the Bios settings. Since then I can't access the settings because I have never asked the supervisor password. The biometric characteristics are activated. So when I restart and press F1 I get into the bios without beeing asked a password but I can't change the values.

You associate your fingerprints with the supervisor password?  Another option instead of dragging your finger please press ESC and then manually type the password, I hope it will work.

  • Satellite U940 - cannot start or access the BIOS settings

I try to help with a HARD on a U940 disk failure. The laptop still works a failure has been (almost certainly) the entire HARD disk.

I have a new HARD drive in place but I'm unable to access BIOS, and the machine does not start of course. Just a black screen while the computer is trying to do something...

    • Then put the F2 on does not work
    • Then put the F12 on does not work
    • Then put the ESC on does not work
    • Out the battery did not work
    • Out the battery and the power cord and the discharge by pressing the power button / stop for 60 seconds, did not work.

I can't get to the BIOS. In my view, that the machine was based on the Intel hybrid disc stuff using the DDI in RAID before and this quick book has been activated. Of course, I am unable to clean the machine to stop more since I can't start up with the old drive.

What I really want to do, is to put everything back. Get rid of any RAID stuff and put Windows on the new HARD drive. Any ideas how I can get into the BIOS to move all of the RAID or FastBoot stuff?

Is it possible to disable hybrid sleep physically? Remove the CMOS battery? Replace the memory? I can't do it from the software or access the BIOS and I wonder if it is what keeps a clean boot.

  • Cannot access the BIOS on the Satellite L40T-A202

    Hello!

Months ago, I've updated the bios of my laptop Toshiba L40T-A202. After reboot I can't access the bios. I fixed it by jumping the jcmos into the mobo. Now the problem occurrd again and I can't seem to fix it with the same problem I did.

Can someone help me? This laptop was bought abroad and I don't want to spend a lot of cash and send it to the repair shops.

    Please help me on this.

    > I fixed it by jumping the jcmos into the mobo
With this action, you certainly killed the guarantee. I really don't understand what was the reason for this action.

For a better understanding, I have a few questions for you:
Have you successfully updated the BIOS?
You can start your machine properly?
See Toshiba welcome screen on startup?
    Windows starts as usual?

  • Cannot access the BIOS on my Satellite U940-11 t

    Hello

I have a problem with my computer.
    I installed a dual-boot Ubuntu/Windows 8.
I disabled the UEFI mode in order to install Ubuntu. But now I have more access to Windows, and I can't go into the BIOS menu to activate the UEFI.

I tried all possible combinations (F2, ESC, F12, F10, F8, DEL,...) and none of them opens the menu of the BIOS.

I read on a forum that if I put my battery, it will work, but it didn't.

How can I access the BIOS? Is there a secret combination that I have not yet tried?

    Thanks for your help.

The F2 key is the right one to access the BIOS.
    Try this method:
Press F2, and then press the power button to power the unit in place.

By the way: Windows 8 and 8.1 Win requires the permit secure boot and UEFI boot mode.

(* 1) * my knowledge the CMOS battery is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be replaced like for example on desktop PC
(* 2) * remove the CMOS battery would NOT reset the BIOS nor would be to remove the passwords.

If I understand your problem, you are not able to access the BIOS, but you can start the laptop and the system. Is this correct?

You have a kind of password (user / supervisor password?)

  • HDX18: Cannot access the BIOS with F10

Try to access my BIOS to set the boot on USB device sequence. Can't!

Power and press F10 repeatedly does not bring me in the config of the BIOS beeps fair to me when my keyboard buffer is full and then continues in charge of the operating system.

Never see option to press the keys to access BIOS either.

Thanks for trying to help out.

My system is a laptop from earlier versions of Windows 8 (2010) and MUST have posted the option to enter in the configuration at the start, but didn't. I had previously improved OS 32 bit to 64 bit - who created another folder Program Files, which in turn have brought masses of disk space. I then upgraded to Windows 10 and did not like the slow, he ran then, I wanted to install a clean Windows 10 and created a bootable USB device. That's when I found I couldn't access the BIOS to change my boot device.

After trying everything I could find without success, I started the machine and once Windows has loaded, I pressed the SHIFT key and select restart. This brought me to the screen Menu UEFI. I went to watch each of the options - no led me across a good kind, I moved back to the main menu screen and clicked on continue - go out and continue to load Windows.

After getting a black screen, I can FINALLY see the option - press ESC to enter Setup... Hooray!

    Problem solved - for now!

  • Cannot access the BIOS on Aspire M

    Greetings, Acer community.

I am a junior high school with a year + old Acer computer which broke down twice and is now out of warranty.  I bought this computer with my own money.

My laptop Aspire M does not start because of the 'boot configuration file becoming invalid', that's at least what the blue screen States "recovery."  The offeres blue screen with "press Esc for UEFI firmware settings, but is not admissible.  I tried F2, F8, F10, Alt + F10, F12, bar space, Delete, and pause to try and activate the BIOS interface, just as unsuccessful.

I followed the instructions to buy Acer recovery tools, but without being able to access the BIOS to set the boot order, I just sank another $25 in a laptop that does not work.

The cost of the service exceeds the cost of the laptop, so I tend to keep trying to fix it myself.  If he can't ' be repaired, there is little chance I will buy a new Acer to replace as this has been a very frustrating experience.

    Help, please.

    Update!

Well, first, I removed the HARD drive to try to get the BIOS F2-interruption of the boot sequence.  No luck.  So, it was off looking for the battery CMOS, which I thought might help interruption control W8 (or something else) could have on my sequence start, and as such, did not get to the BIOS screens.

AND while poking around on the forums, YouTube and the manual - I found on the ACER site, I came across the port of "battery reset" on the merits of the case, which could be used for all disconnect all power from the system.  Seemed to be a promising option.  So, before you tinker with the CMOS, I pressed the reset button of battery for 4 seconds, using a small paper clip and VOILA!, after a power cycle, the bios screens were once more accessible usign F2, etc.  (Obviously, the keyboard is working very well.)

I returned to screens Alt + F10 to try to * repair * the system using the functions of recovery aboard, but NONE of these options might work, they complain of a locked hard drive no boot device, the missing files of corruption or start-up sector.  Partial, complete repair, troubleshooting, none of this would work.

Thus, using the system discs that I had already bought, I searched recharge the system entirely.  After you change the boot sequence, placing the CD/DVD drive to the top of the list, I inserted the disc system, rebooted and was on my way.

I worked my way through the recovery system, three discs and your language and wait now for the freshly loaded operatign system complete the installation of all hardware and software components.  I am sure that this will solve my problem.

I just wish that I would have realized that this little stupid option disconnect battery existed a few weeks ago.  Persistence is paying off, I guess.
