Satellite L755-16U - BSOD with an additional RAM module

Hello everyone.

I bought my toshiba Satellite L755-16U nearly 4 years ago.

This year I decided to buy more memory for my 4 GB,
I bought Kingston SODIMM DDR3-1333 4096 MB PC3-10600 because they have the same characteristics. Since then occasionally

BSOD began to take place. I don't know why.

I checked my drive with chkdsk and checked my memory with memtest86 - no error.
Separately, the two work well in different locations. I'm desperate.

Should I buy another a kingstone and try to put in 2 kingstones memories or what should I do?

Hello

According to specifications of the laptop, your machine can handle with 8 GB of RAM, so you can use 2 4 GB of RAM modules.
Compatible 4 GB of RAM has PA3918U-1M4G part number. Part number of Kingston for this RAM module is KTT - S3B / 4G.
That's all I can say on the upgrade memory.

  • Satellite M60-169: BSOD appears after upgrade RAM to 1.5 GB

    Hello

    Satellite M60-169 got 1 GB DDR2 Samsung 533 MHz RAM-Modules (2x512MB).
    Now, I have installed a new 1 GB DDR2 Samsung 533 MHz RAM-Module (1x1024MB + orig. 1x512mo = 1, 5 GB memory)

The problem is: the system reboots before you start Windows XP or Windows Vista.
Reinstaling 2x512MB Modules: everything works fine.
Reinstall the new 1 GB Module: blue screen and reboot. :(

I tested the memory modules with memtest86 Boot-CD and all DD2-Modules work and produce no errors.
Why the new RAM is not compatible with the laptop?

The specifications of the new 1024 MB of RAM is: Samsung 1 GB 2Rx8 PC2-4200-444-12-E3 M470T2953CZ3-CD5 double sided
The specifications of the orig. 512 MB of RAM is: double-Samsung 512 MB 2Rx16 PC2-4200-444-12-A3-M470T6554CZ3-CD5

Very strange! The RAM is like the original equipped with RAM.
    Is this a BIOS problem?
If I don't just install a single module of 512 MB, the system starts without any problem. Even if I install only a single modulue of the new 1 GB of RAM, the system does not boot to Windows.

There may be a BIOS Solution for this problem in the future?, now more installed new BIOS (1.60).

    BR Pappl

    Hello

I don t think the BIOS problem.
In my opinion, there is a problem with the RAM modules.
The new module of memory is default or it s just not compatible.

Perhaps the mix of RAM is the reason for BSOD interruptions.
Have you tried to use only the new 1 GB module?
    Check it out.

I have additional checked the Web from Toshiba site Options & accessories and according to the news, you must use this memory module 1 GB:
    1 GB OF DDR2 400/533 (PA3411U-1M1G)

  • C55-A-1MW satellite does not start with the new RAM inserted

    Hey.

I hope to find someone who can help me... I bought ram memories and tried 4 different memories in my C55 A 1MW Satellite. But each card RAM I have insert makes the computer cannot start... It lights just to stop again.

Is there a compatibility issue or anything like that? I used 2 different aData Ram extensions cars, 1 1 and 4 GB 2 GB. the 4 GB card was 1333 mhz and was 2 GB 1600 mhz card. and I tried 2 corsair 4 GB 1600 mhz different cards.

Is this something that makes only able to expand RAM with Toshibas own memories or is the second cardslot for broken RAM memory?

As I see you use RAM modules with different specifications. Your problem is certainly of RAM compatibility and you must use the RAM modules with the same specifications.
According to specification of laptop there are 4 slots of memory and laptop can handle up to 32 GB of RAM.

    The compatible RAM modules are:
    4 GB DDR3L-1600-PA5104U-1M4G
    8 GB DDR3L-1600-PA5104U-1M8G

Of course, you can use modules from other manufacturers, but please do not use some cheap products. I can recommend the use of Kingston memory modules.

  • Satellite L755-16J - problem with sound card

I currently own a Toshiba * Satellite L755-16J * and is having some kind of trouble with the sound card, I think.

When I bought it, it came with windows 7, I changed the Windows of windows 8 and since then the audio has been trouble me.

The internal speakers work for a minute or two, when I play an audio file, but then stop working.
I had been using a usb external sound card and external speakers for some time but decided to the switchback to windows 7 for the sound working again. even if I went to win 7, the sound still doesn't work.

I am sure that the problem is not in the internal speakers because they do not work, even if it's just for a brief moment, but they work, so I think the problem is in the software instead of hardware.

I tried to update the audio drivers but they seem to be updated as windows, pilots 'seem to work properly.

    Can anyone help?

    > even if I spent back for win 7, the sound still doesn't work.

    How did you do that?
Have you used the Toshiba Recovery disk in order to install Win 7 or have you installed Windows 7 using the Windows 7 clean and fresh hot?

The laptop supports the Conexant audio chip. The audio driver is available on the page of the Toshiba UE driver and where the sound chip is already recognized in Device Manager after installing the audio driver, I assume that the driver has been installed correctly.

In this case I recommend you plug in a headset.
In case the headset should work fine, the speakers could be affected. I mean the material. But of course it s just an idea.

Next to the audit of the helmet, you can also check the settings in the Panel of-> sound-> the Read tab.
Usually, the speakers should be set as default device.
    Check this option too.

  • Satellite L755 - conflict uTorrent with youtube and radio online

I just bought Satellite L755 - 1 M 0 a few weeks ago and put Windows 7 on it. I have problem when you look at youtube and listen to the radio online of the browser, while that download torrents with uTorrent.

There is NO problem with slow internet, the connection is good, torrent download is slow, and others on the internet is functioning normally. But when I want to Watch youtube videos, he starts going on for 30 seconds and that it stops, once again from the beginning and it stops again and never comes until the end of the video.

As with radio in the browser line, it works for 10 seconds, then it stops and never start again.

When I turn to uTorrent and wait 10 seconds, when I refresh the page youtube or online radio, it works perfectly.

On the old desktop PC, everything worked perfectly with the same windows, torrent, and online radio.

I tried to limit the download and upload of torrent, limit the number of connections of the torrent, to use the old version of uTorrent... but nothing helps. I use WiFi at home, but even when I connect to internet with LAN cable it still the same problem.

    Any suggestion?

    > When I turn to uTorrent and wait 10 seconds, when I refresh the page youtube or online radio, it works perfectly.

This means that it is certainly not a laptop problem.

    > There is NOT problem with slow internet, the connection is good, torrent download is slow and others on the internet is functioning normally.

In my view, that it seems that your internet connection is overloaded

    > But when I want to Watch youtube videos, he starts going on for 30 seconds and that it stops, once again from the beginning and it stops again and never comes until the end of the video.

That s clear... all streaming video needs to cache first if the connection is overloaded, the flow would be loaded much more slowly and so you have a few interruptions while watching the youtube

As you said above, everything works fine the torrent Torrent disabling is your problem

  • Satellite L30 - frequent BSoD after upgrade of RAM.

This problem is almost identical to [this post | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=144540𣒜], but given that the response was too general and did not help, I want to provide more details about my problem and hope for a better answer.

My L35 (i.e. American L30) came with Vista Home Basic and only 512M of RAM. It was slow, but smooth otherwise. The problems started after I upgraded the RAM to 2 GB occasionally a BSoD will appear, and the computer restarts after a second or two.
Most of the time, instances of BSoD are not taken at random; usually, it happens when you watch a film or multimedia and online during the wake her up after suspend.
Also, it happens much more frequently if an external monitor is attached. He does, connect an external monitor and watch a movie will result in BSoD with 100% certainty. My laptop has shared video memory, maybe it's a question here.

The problem prevailed after that I installed Windows 7.
Memtest86 + showed no problems with my memory
Memtest86 covers all aspects of the use of the RAM?

Is it possible that some problems may be overlooked by memtest86?
Are there other tests of memory, that I could use, specifically to test the shared video memory?

Not every hardware problem can be detected software.
You have tested the RAM with Memtest86 +? Try using Memtest86 (no +).

In the worst case, you must replace the RAM. Ask the dealer for a new computer. I m sure they will help you.

  • Satellite L755 - 1-3 - with HD SSD upgrade

Hi guys, sorry to bother you.

I was wondering if I can upgrade my laptop with a new + SSD HD +.
(everyone tells me is a big change in _speed terms_!)
while I was trying to figure out if my * SATELLITE L755 - 1 3 * has a _SATA 2 or 3_ internal port (the price of the HDs are quite different...)

    Thank you!!!

    Hello

As far as I know the SATA III are supported since the Intel P67/H67 chipsets
That is why the laptop seems to support 300 MB/s max and this would mean that the SATA II HDD is good enough

  • Satellite L30-149 - does not start with the new RAM modules

I bought RAM Kingston 2 x 1 GB modules. When I put a single module in my notebook - everything works fine. When I put the two modules - BIOS freezes and cannot start.

I tried to combine my old module of 512 MB with 1 GB of Kingston, but in this case laptop detects only more great module (Kingston). So, I'm stuck with only 1 GB of RAM. In my notebook BIOS version is 3.10, and it's the last. I tested RAM modules in a laptop and each of them works fine.

What should I do now? Help, please!

Download and run www.memtest.org Memtest to test these Modules one by one.

  • Satellite P500 PSPE8U: BSOD with Win7

    Hello

As Microsoft Windows C++ programmer I have access to the final retail version of Win7, the X 86 and the 64-bit versions of the Professinal build and version of Windows 7 Ultimate have show stopping BSOD errors and so far I had unsuccessfully in looking for it even if I think that I am closing top.

I am hoping that someone more familiar with Toshiba laptops might have seen this problem before and know the fix.

The fault that happens in x 86 & 64-bit, and upgraded or by pure install.
The system is unstable, crash, and or gel and or cause a BSOD with "sdbus.sys", noted as the cause.
The above is a driver installed by Windows and is a signed file MS, who seems to lead the SDHD slot.

If someone knows something about this anomaly he can answer it please.

    concerning
    NicW

a result of this. After much trial and error, I discovered if the SD material is disabled in the BSOD and restart Device Manager stops happening. This material is related to the MS sdbus.sys driver, so there is clearly a problem with the MS driver and the Toshiba laptop.

  • Satellite L300 - 16L - BSOD with new modules of RAM

    Hello

I have a Satellite L300 - 16L and make me the same problem.

Has got 2 x 1 GB DIMMS standard and ordered 2 new 2 GB DIMMS. If I put the 2 new 2 GB DIMMS in I get the BSOD, Memtest also crashes as soon as it starts to test. If I place a 1 GB Dimm in the lower slot and a 2 GB in another windows starts fine, if I try to put the 2 in the lower slot and 1 GB in the higher the BSOD that he.

But if I put either of 2 GB on the lower slot his own windows boots fine, mem test has also allows to test the two GBs 2 individually and said no problem.

Any ideas anyone? My laptop is supposed to support 4 GB, I'm sure of it.

    Thank you
    JJ

    Hi Jack_Jumpin,

    > My laptop is supposed to support 4 GB, I'm sure of it.
Why you are sure that your laptop supports 4 GB of RAM?

I checked the specification of your laptop on the Toshiba page and this L300 - 16L supports only 2 GB. This means that you can only use two modules including 1 GB of capacity.

Sorry, mate, but you can use t 4 GB. The chipset supports only 2 GB.

  • Satellite U920T - 11 c: how to insert additional RAM modules?

Anyone know if there is a service manual for this model or a schematic representation inside this computer with the lid back.

    Thank you

The memory of U920T satellite is not user upgraded. This means that if you do want to upgrade the memory, please contact an authorized Toshiba maintainer for assistance.
In which case you would try to disassemble the laptop by yourself, you will lose the warranty.

But to my knowledge the U920T Satellite series supports ONE slot memory and memory that one module (max 8GB RAM) can be installed. So even if you do not upgrade the memory, you are limited to 8 GB of RAM.

  • Satellite C850-1NU - BSOD with Page fault in non paged area error

So basically I was looking through the web on my laptop, and then suddenly I got a blue screen of death.
It said Page fault in nonpaged area.

Some people say it means that the RAM could be faulty.
Is this true and if it is faulty should I take it back to PC world where I bought it?

    Thanks ;)

    Hello

The BSOD could be caused by system problems or malfunction of the equipment.

.. and Yes; the BSOD containing the paginated Page Fault in any area error could be related to memory problems, but it could also be a temporal problem that appeared one last time

But if this BSOD will appear in the future for the umpteenth time, I recommend you contact the service partner to verify the material.

  • Satellite L30 10Y does not start with the new RAM modules

    Hello
regged just with this forum I have a problem to upgrade memory.

I read through a few problems of memory here and all users that it is a problem of memory comaptible. I got Hynix 512 MB RAM in my laptop and I bought 2 x 1 GB memory Hynix these two are match sticks to the installed memory, but when I installed my laptop wouldn't boot at all. It would only boot if I had a stick in both.

I tried to switch ports top and btm and even when a stick was installed it says in XP, Vista and Windows 7 (yes I tried all systems) 896 MB of available space. I even tried to use my other Hynix stick, but he won't start and showed more stick of 1 GB (896 MB usable in Windows 7). After reading all the threads I wonder if it is a hardware failure or is there a fix in the world of Toshiba or perhaps in the world of Toshiba, the L series is almost obsolete and not worth to help people who unwittingly bought their goods.

I apologize for being slightly down on Toshiba but a laptop that shows what he can work and is not a company should hold his hand up and say that Yes, there is a fault and help deal with the problem.

You see 896 MB, because the rest is reserved for VRAM for graphics card.

Sometimes RAM may simply be incompatible, because of incompatibilities of calendar or RAM chip/controller design differences.

What speed and timings is your original RAM?
    PCxxxx / DDRxxx =
    Schedules CASES/RAS =.

What speed and timings is your new RAM?
    PCxxxx / DDRxxx =
    Schedules CASES/RAS =.

You can display this information using a utility called CPU - Z

  • Re: upgrade RAM on Satellite L755-18th

First, I searched the Internet for toshiba for my exact model Toshiba L755-18E (PSK2YE-07E00CCE).

I tried to download the manual of the laptop to check the compatibility of the RAM, but I'm unable to find it.

Note: Maybe the laptop is named different on toshibas website, laptop specs:

    15.6 "
    Intel Core i5 - 2410M
    4 GB DDR3 1333 MHz
    NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M
    500 GB sATA 5400 RPM

    My questions are:

How many RAM slots is a my laptop?
Is there any free RAM location or the 4 GB is 2 + 2?

One of my friends has a spare 1600 DDR3 laptop and I wonder if I could use it.

    My motherboard supports 1600 RAM?
    Can I mix RAM 1333 and 1600? (I guess work at 1333).

    Hello

I've google a bit autour and info found that your laptop is original comes with 4 GB of RAM and can be upgraded up to 8 GB.
For the moment that your laptop must have a single module of 4 GB of RAM inside and is the DDR3 1333 MHz (PC3-10600), 204p with PA3918U-1M4G part number.

In my opinion you should get the second 4 GB of RAM, but with the same specifications and part number.
There is no risk of some compatibility issues with two identical RAM modules.

Don t mix two modules of RAM with different specifications.

Check if you can find a place RAM with PA3918U-1M4G part number.
I n t have this laptop model but I guess that on the lower part it is placed coverage of memory.

  • Satellite A-C55-1JL - compatibility with the ram module

I want to upgrade the RAM in my Toshiba C55-A-1JL. Standard module is Hynix PC3L bitensión 4 GB. But on the slot, I saw the text "1.5V. I bought the 4 GB of Kingston module with identical parameters as Hynix module, only the voltage is different. Kingston module is only 1.5V voltage.

My question is: what voltage supports the mainboard that laptop? Can I use this add-on from Kingston with original Hynix ram module?

    Standard module's voltage Hynix PC3L

This means that the module supports 1.35v or 1.5V

Can I use this add-on from Kingston with original Hynix ram module?

In the worst case if you use the not entirely compatible RAM module, the laptop does not start up... try it
