Satellite L755 do not sleep or Hibernate properly

I have an older L755 of 3 weeks, which gives me a bit of grief...
I set up the laptop so that if I press the power switch or close the lid, either connected or not, then the system should go into hibernation.

When I key or close the lid, from time to time the system freezes, the screen will turn black and I went with 2 LED constant and a flashing LED. Digital Lock stays on and the only way to regain the system is to press the power button until all go off.

The system then restarts informing me that windows does not shut down correctly, and all open programs are obviously killed. It does not matter if I put the button / stop or closing the lid for the hibernation or standby, the end result is the same. Annoyingly, this does not happen every time, it is really no rhyme or reason as to why this happens.

I turn on the machine, clean power up doing nothing, literally wait until windows has finished loading to the top, push the button and he sleeps very well, on other occasions, I do exactly the same thing and the system will not sleep properly.

So far, led by Toshiba, of in Device Manager I uninstalled the 'Microsoft AC Adapter' and 'Microsoft ACPI compatible control method battery' and allowed Windows 7 reinstall. I also ran the incorporation of package at the request of Toshiba. I am really satisfied with the system outside of this insidious problem and Toshiba support have been fantastic, however the only options remaining to me according to Toshiba is to reinstall back to factory settings which really don't like.

Everyone has been through this? If I have to reinstall and it does not work then my laptop should be returned for test/replacement, what is the usual turnaround for such a job?

Please help :)

This was published as issues L750, the model I have is the L755 - sorry

Orientation of Toshiba? Can you please explain this? To be honest I don t understand why you uninstalled stuff.

Anyway, the fact is that you've got laptop with the settings and all these functions should work properly. I have two laptops Toshiba and I use stand-by/hibernating all the time so if this work on my notebooks, I n t see why it should not work on your machine by Satellite. These functions are announcement of combinations tested, especially FN + F3/F4 keys, it does work.

In my opinion you should not uninstall anything. Leave the configuration of default Toshiba.
Did you install additional software that runs in the background and can block the laptop when you want to use stand-by/Hibernate?
> However the only options remaining to me according to Toshiba is to reinstall back to factory settings which really don't like.
Why not? It is the simplest and fastest way to verify functionality and have good working system again.

  • ProBook 450 G0: 10 Windows will not sleep or Hibernate or start properly

    Hello!

    Hello!

Recently I did a clean install of windows 10 and I have a problem I forgot my past experience with this version of windows: my system is unable to go to sleep (or he can't wake mode 'sleep') or Hibernate.

Example of situation: I put the system to sleep, it shuts down (the power button blinks always - it's what he does when the laptop is in sleep mode) and when I press the power button (or click on my mouse) system does not. Either he starts as a fresh start (as no "sleep mode" has never been there) or the screen goes black, stay like that for a while and then stops (and, of course, when I open it again it is like a new beginning).
I never met such a problem on all other versions of windows. I did almost (if not all) of the suggestions and tutorials on the internet about it. The BIOS is up to date, so is my driver chipset with the rest of my drivers. Is it possible to fix this? It's the only thing that will make me return to windows 7.

    HP ProBook 450 G0 with:

    Intel Core i7-3632QM

    Graphics Intel HD 4000 / AMD Radeon HD 8600 / 8700M

    SSD 240 GB KINGSTON SV300

PS: I found this link where I discovered that the decommissioning of the bios to an older version would work, but I can't find versions older for my laptop.

I have not upgraded to Windows 7 to 10. I did a clean install and I manually installed the drivers for the AMD and Intel video hardware.

I found how to solve this problem by making this upgrade of repair: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/wiki/insider_wintp-insider_install/how-to-perform-a-repair-upgrade-using-the-windows/35160fbe-9352-4e70-9887-f40096ec3085
Someone who has the same problem, I had perhaps try this method, as any other internet method did not work for me.

    Thanks anyway for your answer!

  • HP Envy m4 Windows 8 do not sleep and wake properly

I recently got a HP Envy with Windows 8 m4, and every time I try to sleep, he never goes in mode 'sleep'. I'm assuming, since fans are always running up and the power light is still on (not flashing). If I try to wake him up, he doesn't. I tried pressing the power button, by clicking on the mouse and trackpad and typing on the keyboard. I tried to change the settings of the Control Panel, but nothing seems to work. Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm probably being stupid, but my dvd internal or usb Samsung drives are recognized today. The two spin up, the USB gets pling a little when I connect and disconnect. • Satellite L755 would not charge the battery

Hi all. I bought a new laptop today... it wouldn't charge the battery so I exchanged in-store. The replacement also has this problem. I'm doing something wrong or I was just unlucky?

The battery in the bottom right of the screen icon tells me that the battery is 0% charged, but he is in charge. The red light on the laptop before left turns as if to show that the battery is being charged also.

    Yet battery does not charge.

If I unplug the laptop from the network, the laptop turns off instanty.

It is today the second laptop brand new with the same problem. Maybe a part of a lot of battery defective or is - a problem that can be corrected with the software? I don't want to take the laptop to the store for a second time in the day.

    Hello

If the laptop stops immediately after that the AC adapter is not unplugged, it means that the battery is empty and not loaded.
Are you sure you plugged the battery correctly into the battery bay?
Please check if the battery is well suited.

In addition, I recommend to remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter.
Then press the power button / stop along 30 seconds and reconnect the two parts.
Then leave the laptop connected to the network for a longer period of time (2-3 hours).
Then check the battery charge level

If he would always stay at 0% then I recommend you visit the dealer and check the other unit or the battery.

  • Satellite L755-1ED - sound is not working properly

    Hello

I am currently the owner of a Toshiba Satellite L755 1ED and the sound does not work as it should for a few weeks. When I try to play an audio file or a video, its offline or online, works well for the first few minutes, and then suddenly disappears. I use Windows 7, and when that happens, his is still known for the system as you can see in the volume control, but any noise is coming from the speakers. However:
-If I pause the video and then repeat it in like 30 seconds, sound usually comes back. Also if I go to Sound Settings in + material and Sound + in the + control panel + and then try to check if it works, it's usually after the first or second attempt.
-If I use headphones always works perfectly.

I have already installed the latest updates of my sound card and I don't know where the problem is maybe. Some help would be welcome.
Thank you very much and sorry for my English (is not my native language).

Very interesting article. Speakers a little internal switch port that helps mobile to recognise that the earphones are connected and when you connect headphones, internal speakers will be disabled and the sound comes through the speakers only.

On some machines, it is possible to manually switch between external and internal contacts

When you open Control Panel is Realter HD audio manager available or maybe Smart audio?

  • Sleep and Hibernate works not properly

    Hello
I have a laptop HP running Win7 64 bit which has developed a problem when you use power-saving features and ensures extended. I rarely stop or restart the system and very rarely use Hibernate, opting instead for simply use sleep function when I close the lid. Stop and restart both to perform as expected, but whenever I try to use the sleep function, either by closing the lid or via the options on the start menu, simply, the screen goes black and the laptop runs - the fan is on and the hard drive light flashes sometimes. I waited for about ten minutes, but nothing changes. Then, when I lift the lid to wake the system, nothing happens and I have to do a closed hard. The same thing happens with the Hibernate.

I used the system restore already to try to resolve, by choosing a restore point, a few days before the recent updates or system changes, I did but the problem remains.

I also changed the settings in the power settings to try to solve the problem, but once again failed to do.

I turned it off Hibernation using start, run, powercfg-h off but once again, this has not fixed the problem. >

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

When I wake up the computer in "sleep" or "hibernate" mode, only the photo Office rises, not the icons, so I have to restart with a hard off every time.  What can I do?

Press CTRL + ALT + DELETE and bring up the Task Manager > move in process > select Explorer > end task and it will restart and if all goes well it will bring to the top of your screen properly.

Your computer is completely up-to-date with all the updates?

  • Libretto U100 - do not hibernate properly

    Hello

My laptop do not hibernate properly. He used to work perfectly. I've changed anything so I don't know why this is happening. The symptoms are:

1 close the lid, XP traverse prepares him to Hibernate process, then is put into hibernation. After at least 2-3 minutes, sometimes like the laptop computer awakends on its own. The cover is still closed.

    2. the laptop awaken itself also when I put in the system hibernation using the following method: select start > turn off computer > Hibernate. Systems wakes up again on its own.

I tried the things below to solve the problem, but unable to solve the problem:

    1 turn off the Wifi.
    2. check the BIOS. Wake on Lan is turned off.
    3. click on Hibernate, and then run the disk check.
    4. disconnect the USB
    5. do not connect to Windows XP IE. Stay at the logon screen, and then close the lid of the laptop. Systems goes into hibernation but wakes up then to randomly on its own. Sometimes after 2-3 minutes and sometimes longer.
    6. I put the system on hold and Standy works perfectly.

I would be very grateful if you would be able to help me.

    Kind regards
    Julia

Are you really sure that no Windows Update or driver has been updated on this machine? Sometimes, Microsoft distributes updates without the user's knowledge.

I would recommend you to reclaim your machine and see if hibernation works again after reinstallation of the machine...

Would appreciate any comment in this case ;)

To be honest, I don t think so.

  • Bluetooth is not disable the Satellite L755

    Hello

I'm having a problem with the Bluetooth built into my laptop: the Bluetooth connection works fine, I can send and receive files without problem. However if I want to * turn off Bluetooth *,.
I can't find the option to turn on/off.

    The laptop is a Toshiba * Satellite L755 - 1 c 1 *, running Windows 8.1 pro, 64-bit.
Then, the ability to switch the Bluetooth power switch should be in PC configuration? PC and devices? Bluetooth, but this isn't, when I followed this path, the laptop automatically starts to scan for Bluetooth devices and I don't see the * usual on / off option * (here an image google image, just to make it clearer what I mean with usual we / off option http://i.stack.imgur.com/RYsM5.png).

I know that option sometimes power can be in the same location of Wi - Fi on/off function PC options? Network? Airplane mode, but here I can see only the Wi - Fi power switch option.

I also tried to press FN + f8, but this combination of keys disables only the Wi - Fi, no Bluetooth. Turn on same flight mode, stop my phone to send and receive files via bluetooth. I don't know why, but the airplane mode stops the connection Wi - Fi, but not the Bluetooth.

I understand that the connection is only with the associated devices, but for batteries and for security/privacy reasons, I think it's very annoying to not be able to disable the Bluetooth.

I never checked if there was this problem also when my laptop was running windows 7 or windows 8, so I don't know if the problem came with windows 8.1 or not.

I don't know where I can find more information on Bluetooth of my phone which could help to solve this problem, should
I checked in Device Manager? Bluetooth or Device Manager? Network cards? Bluetooth device?

    Thanks for the help,
    Marcello

    > However if I want to disable the Bluetooth.
    > I can't find the option to turn on/off.

A question just to understand your problem:
Screenshot image belongs to your system. Right?

What system do you have exactly? Is - this win 8 or 8.1 Win
I m asking this because there is a difference between winning 8 and 8.1 Win

Win 8, you will find the power switch BT under:
-> Laptop-> Wireless settings under wireless box

    8.1 win BT appears in:
Settings PC-> PC and devices-> Bluetooth-> manage Bluetooth devices zone

It is also 2nd way to disable BT in Win 8.1 in PC network settings:
Settings-> network-> airplane mode laptop-> to the title of wireless devices, move the Bluetooth market / stop

I m wondering about the Win 8.1 software and drivers that you have installed on this laptop.
Usually it s necessary to install the driver of Toshiba system to win 8.1 as well as the filter for 8.1 of Atheros Bluetooth driver win without this software, BT will not work correctly

    Good day to all,

I kinda a strange problem, the company that I work received point on the toshiba Satellite L755 PSK2YE and a box of vodacom K3772-Z modems for distribution to our customers.

We picked up that these modems are not detected at all when plugged in the port of USB3 laptops left side (we tried 3 modems on machine Ong 3 with the same result each time)

Modems work perfectly well when it is connected to the usb ports on right 2 and all the rest that we connected to works of 3 usb port very well including older models of modems.

I also tested the modem on another machine of 3 USB (also using the usb controller 3 renesas) and it works beautifully.

I have notcied that if you disable the usb controller 3 on the laptop and turn it back on with the stick of 3 g connected to the unit is detected correctly however if you unplug in and try again once it does detect it yet.

It's using the latest drivers and firmware.

I tried to find a solution online but had no chance.

Any ideas what could be the cause?

From my point of view it would mean for computer laptop USB 3.0 port works correctly and, possibly, there is a compatibility problem between the modem and the USB 3.0 port. Maybe you should contact check the modem manufacturer support page for more information

I read on some forums that many people had problems to install this modem using Win 7 64 bit with 32-bit system was not a problem, someone used the drivers released for modem K4505.
