  • ProBook 450 G0: 10 Windows will not sleep or Hibernate or start properly

    Hello!

    Hello!

Recently I did a clean install of windows 10 and I have a problem I forgot my past experience with this version of windows: my system is unable to go to sleep (or he can't wake mode 'sleep') or Hibernate.

Example of situation: I put the system to sleep, it shuts down (the power button blinks always - it's what he does when the laptop is in sleep mode) and when I press the power button (or click on my mouse) system does not. Either he starts as a fresh start (as no "sleep mode" has never been there) or the screen goes black, stay like that for a while and then stops (and, of course, when I open it again it is like a new beginning).
I never met such a problem on all other versions of windows. I did almost (if not all) of the suggestions and tutorials on the internet about it. The BIOS is up to date, so is my driver chipset with the rest of my drivers. Is it possible to fix this? It's the only thing that will make me return to windows 7.

    HP ProBook 450 G0 with:

    Intel Core i7-3632QM

    Graphics Intel HD 4000 / AMD Radeon HD 8600 / 8700M

    8 GB RAM

    SSD 240 GB KINGSTON SV300

PS: I found this link where I discovered that the decommissioning of the bios to an older version would work, but I can't find versions older for my laptop.

I have not upgraded to Windows 7 to 10. I did a clean install and I manually installed the drivers for the AMD and Intel video hardware.

I found how to solve this problem by making this upgrade of repair: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/wiki/insider_wintp-insider_install/how-to-perform-a-repair-upgrade-using-the-windows/35160fbe-9352-4e70-9887-f40096ec3085
Someone who has the same problem, I had perhaps try this method, as any other internet method did not work for me.

    Thanks anyway for your answer!

  • Satellite L755 do not sleep or Hibernate properly

I have an older L755 of 3 weeks, which gives me a bit of grief...
I set up the laptop so that if I press the power switch or close the lid, either connected or not, then the system should go into hibernation.

When I key or close the lid, from time to time the system freezes, the screen will turn black and I went with 2 LED constant and a flashing LED. Digital Lock stays on and the only way to regain the system is to press the power button until all go off.

The system then restarts informing me that windows does not shut down correctly, and all open programs are obviously killed. It does not matter if I put the button / stop or closing the lid for the hibernation or standby, the end result is the same. Annoyingly, this does not happen every time, it is really no rhyme or reason as to why this happens.

I turn on the machine, clean power up doing nothing, literally wait until windows has finished loading to the top, push the button and he sleeps very well, on other occasions, I do exactly the same thing and the system will not sleep properly.

So far, led by Toshiba, of in Device Manager I uninstalled the 'Microsoft AC Adapter' and 'Microsoft ACPI compatible control method battery' and allowed Windows 7 reinstall. I also ran the incorporation of package at the request of Toshiba. I am really satisfied with the system outside of this insidious problem and Toshiba support have been fantastic, however the only options remaining to me according to Toshiba is to reinstall back to factory settings which really don't like.

Everyone has been through this? If I have to reinstall and it does not work then my laptop should be returned for test/replacement, what is the usual turnaround for such a job?

    Please help :)

This was published as issues L750, the model I have is the L755 - sorry

    >... led by Toshiba, of in Device Manager I uninstalled the 'Microsoft AC Adapter' and 'Microsoft ACPI compatible control method battery' and allowed Windows 7 reinstall. I also ran the incorporation of package at the request of Toshiba.
Orientation of Toshiba? Can you please explain this? To be honest I don t understand why you uninstalled stuff.

Anyway, the fact is that you've got laptop with the settings and all these functions should work properly. I have two laptops Toshiba and I use stand-by/hibernating all the time so if this work on my notebooks, I n t see why it should not work on your machine by Satellite. These functions are announcement of combinations tested, especially FN + F3/F4 keys, it does work.

In my opinion you should not uninstall anything. Leave the configuration of default Toshiba.
Did you install additional software that runs in the background and can block the laptop when you want to use stand-by/Hibernate?
    > However the only options remaining to me according to Toshiba is to reinstall back to factory settings which really don't like.
Why not? It is the simplest and fastest way to verify functionality and have good working system again.

  • Laptop did not sleep properly and I disliked stuffed in the laptop bag

This morning, I closed the lid on my laptop, the icon of sleep on the hinge is come, put the laptop in my bag, put it in the trunk of the car and went to work. Twenty minutes later, I get to work and get my purse. The bag was very hot! And when I opened spilled and touched at the end of the laptop, it was even hotter. To the point where it felt good to the touch.

The end of the exhaust fan was to the end top of the bag and is the end that I was touching. The fan was going at full speed.

I brought in the office, he opened and there was a BACK screen that lists all the devices boot available and fairly well said that nothing was available. I hit enter and it cycled through a few screens back, but basically he didn't do anything. Then, a hard close and cool how far it was comfortable to the touch. In reverse and was able to get into Windows fine. The battery is fully charged when I left the House, but had fallen to 40 percent. At the time wherever I woke up PC Wizard, the internal time had fallen back to normal.

Got my W500 a week ago. Wiped Vista Ultimate and replaced with Windows 7. Essentially, what I need to work works very well. Always have a few devices that probably are not completely configured correctly. I did this whole routine yesterday for the first time (to and from work) with no problems so I'm a bit confused what happened this time.

Any thoughts? Anything else I should look for? I need to update the drivers? I see a couple of discussions about sleep problems, but have not confirmed anything on my end. Should what steps I take to ensure that the thing really did not sleep before sticking again in my bag?

So far it seems OK, but I can't imagine what could have happened if I had the end fan at the bottom of the bag, it's in the afternoon and 100 degrees and if my drive was a little longer. I think it would have been messy.

    Thank you

    Hello

It is very probably no fault but just missing configuration. You must disable your laptop computer to wake from sleep.

In Win7 it in Device Manager - click on properties (above all usb devices) of any device, go to the power management tab and disable "allow this device to wake the computer".

Another good thing to set is in the power management in the "advanced power settings" of each plan. Here (sleep-> Allow wake timers) you can disable the timers that could wake the machine.

  • HP Pavilion 15 laptop does not properly turned off

Hi everyone, I am faced with a wireframe, annoying problem with my less than a month old HP Pavilion Notebook 15-p029tx.

Sometimes, after pressing 'Shut Down', within the screen 2 seconds turns black, but the laptop would not extinguish itself, i.e. fan and power lights stays on always (once, I waited for 1 hour, like only the screen off & pc does not respond, occurs at the same time plugged / battery power). So, I press the power button for 5 seconds to turn it off. The next time he acts as restart, i.e. takes longer to boot and windows plays the startup sound.

This kind of wired issue does not occur on every stop down. It happens probably once in two days of use. Standby, hibernation works very well.

Configuration of the laptop: Pavilion 15-p029tx; 4 GB; Intel I3; 2GB NVIDIA; 8.1 Windows x 64 only language; 1 TB HARD DRIVE. Latest version of Windows, HP drivers, Antivirus updates are installed. PC is in good condition (defragmented HDD, registry, Ccleaner cleaning). Does not overheat is not possible: I have cooling pad and the weather is cold here.

Steps I performed to fix the problem: Updated to latest Bios F.12; Reset bios default setting; made all the system from the bios, no found error diagnostics. Today, I run 10 stop test with different conditions, but it has never happened during the tests! Also all the usb ports give power during this gel.

But I don't know, I would have to hold down the power button / stop again in the next two days.

Experts please help me to resolve the issue, its very annoying when I'm in hurry, hurry to stop, lid closed, and next time, when I leave the laptop in the bag, it would always be running / power!

    Sorry for my bad English.

I found the root of the problem. The culprit was Mcafee. After you remove Mcafee, it works well!

  • DVD drive on laptop does not work since the installation of Windows 8

The DVD player on my laptop would not consider movies since I installed Windows 8.  Any ideas what app or service should be addressed to make it work.  I don't know if it is a hardware problem (I doubt it, it worked fine before) or a video software problem.  Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, Windows 8 does not natively support playback of DVD movies.  You need to install a Windows Media Center (no player) or a 3rd party application.

I recommend VLC - a free, open-source media player.  It will play DVD files immediately after installation.  Additional measures must be taken if you have a Blu - Ray player on your device.

  • HP G60 laptop: black screen after sleep or hibernate Windows10

Since upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10, the laptop displays a black screen after the sleep or hibernate modes.  The system seems to be commissioning (HDD, fan action), but no video.  The system boots normally cold trouble-free starting.  Never, there is this problem with Windows 7.

    Hi @Bobby876,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP G60 laptop and problems with the mode "sleep" after the update to Windows 10. I recommend to restore the default BIOS settings. You could restore the BIOS with this document by selecting the reload the default BIOS settings. In this way, it will look at the hardware installed on your laptop.

    You can try:

In Device Manager, click the arrow

next to display adapters to expand this category
Right-click on the graph, and then select Update driver software if more than 1 graphic adapter do 1 at a time.
Select search automatically for updated driver software.

The laptop must find and automatically install the updated driver
Once the installation is complete, restart your laptop.

You can try to use the Windows Update Troubleshooter to fix updates that do not come through Windows 10.  Please restart the laptop twice to make sure that all updates are completed!

Please let me know how it goes.

    Thank you.

  • Sleep and Hibernate works not properly

    Hello
I have a laptop HP running Win7 64 bit which has developed a problem when you use power-saving features and ensures extended. I rarely stop or restart the system and very rarely use Hibernate, opting instead for simply use sleep function when I close the lid. Stop and restart both to perform as expected, but whenever I try to use the sleep function, either by closing the lid or via the options on the start menu, simply, the screen goes black and the laptop runs - the fan is on and the hard drive light flashes sometimes. I waited for about ten minutes, but nothing changes. Then, when I lift the lid to wake the system, nothing happens and I have to do a closed hard. The same thing happens with the Hibernate.

I used the system restore already to try to resolve, by choosing a restore point, a few days before the recent updates or system changes, I did but the problem remains.

I also changed the settings in the power settings to try to solve the problem, but once again failed to do.

I turned it off Hibernation using start, run, powercfg-h off but once again, this has not fixed the problem. >
