Satellite L755D-10U: Wireless Communication switch and fixed to off

Satellite L755D-10U part number: PSK4YE-00J00HEN

I've had this laptop since June and have been very happy with it
Last night no reason apparent, the wirelsss set itself off and I cannot turn on again.

Have you looked in the settings of the flash memory card - everything is ok

Any help would be appreciated I need to be able to use the wireless function.

Hello

The WiFi network can be switched on and off using the FN + F8 function.
Did you check that? Note that Fn + F8 turns and BT too so don't forget that Wlan was chosen and not BT!

But the Fn + F8 functions if the WiFi card driver is correctly installed.
If there is something wrong with Wlan driver, then the Fn + f8 would not work too.

This is why an update of the driver might be useful too.

  • Satellite L600: How can I turn off the Wireless Communication switch?

Hello! Would be very grateful for any help... After struggling for 3 months that I finally registered here in the hope of getting help.

    I have a new Satellite L600 / Win7 Home Premium.
My question is that I don't know where the wireless switch is to turn off COMPLETELY wireless.

Whenever I start the wireless (orange) light turns on automatically.
I have to wait until finish and turn off manually by Fn + F8.

When I opened ConfigFree (or doctor of connectivity), the diagnosis on the left bottom says [STATUS"switch of Wireless Communication: WE]
This tells me that the main switch is somehow always THERE.

Twice I called Toshiba and they couldn't find it either.
They said that the new versions of the BIOS does not...? And for this model, there is no physical switch built on the PC itself.

I have looked everywhere and did the following:

    (1) disable the adapter in Device Manager.
    (2) in HWSetup, where there used to be an option to click on the switch wireless off, he's gone.
    (3) I went into the BIOS setup and could find nothing remotely related to without wireless/bluetooth to switch.

I wonder why there is a wireless laptop with light permanently? But if it is enabled, there must be a way to turn it off. Press Fn + F8 every time at startup is not a long-term solution because the risk is that I'll forget someday).

My last laptop was hacked until it's an absolute priority that I know how to disable all wireless functions. So even if I have to do through the commands, I'll try it. In addition, I do not know if anyone else experience the same thing with this model, or is it a default of my particular PC?

Any help or even experience will be much appreciated, thank you.

I disabled the card in the Device Manager.

When I opened ConfigFree, connectivity doctor tells me the Wireless Communication switch: WE

    > My question is that I cannot find where the wireless switch is to turn off COMPLETELY wireless.

There is no hardware switch that would allow to enable or disable the WiFi network.
WLan can be turned on and off using the FN + F8 key combination.

    > When I open ConfigFree (or doctor of connectivity), the diagnosis on the left bottom says STATUS\ ' Wireless Communication switch: on it tells me the main switch is somehow always WE.

What is the status of the WLAN if you check in network connections?
The WiFi network is always on?
If not then the WiFi connection turned off and I wouldn't be worried by the fact that ConfigFree says that it s THERE.

Of course, you can disable the wireless network adapter in Device Manager. Just mark the Wlan card under network adapters and turn off your device. But believe me; It s enough to do using FN + F8 ;)

  • Satellite L755D-10U - I want to restore to out of box state

Afternoon, I have a Satellite L755D-10U and want to restore the factory settings.
I tried to create a recovery disk using the recovery disk creator but I got two errors.

One is in "all programs, toshiba, then recovery disc creator" and shows an error of missing shortcut of TRMCLcher.exe.

The other by the bias of my taskbar and said "No HDD Recovery Area". The recovery partition is still in my D: to 12.5 GB in size.

I have not yet tried the power down and zero route again as I would like to know if restoring to factory settings will erase all data on my Partition D. I got all my University stuff on atm here and even if I can save to another drive also I want to know if it will erase the data on the disks.

Cheers in advance for any help

    > One is in "all programs, toshiba, then recovery disc creator" and evokes a mistake of shortcut missing TRMCLcher.exe.

TRMCLcher.exe means that Toshiba Recovery Media Creator Launcher and this exe file should begin the process of recovery, but it doesn t.

Why? Who probably knows the system has been confusing upward or something has changed on the HARD disk partition.

The same pattern may be why no. HDD recovery area message.

Always is it that there are two options to recover the notebook:
    (1) recovery disc (not possible because you n t have a)
    (2) HARD drive recovery option (check if this is possible: turn on the device, press F8-> fix my computer-> HDD recovery)

If the two possible isn t, you need to recovery disk to perform the recovery procedure.

  • Satellite L755D-10U: cursor blinking after replacement of Wlan

    I have a L755D-10U with the built-in - wireless Mini PCI - E (1/2 height) a Realtek 8188CE card.
This card is about the worst piece of technology that I met.

It works when it wants to, but as soon as I started working hard, he decided to abandon the connection and fail completely to the I disable and enable - by software or by + key combination.

I finally had enough and decided to replace the card with an Intel Centrion Advanced - N 6200.
I put in the laptop, turn on and...
... BIOS screen, then just a cursor flashing at the top on the left and a 100% locked the system.
It's nothing to do with Windows as the same thing happens if I remove the hard drive.

No idea why this should be?
I can see no sign of updates to the BIOS for this laptop, but can't believe that Toshiba would limit the material which can be used as a replacement for their machines.

    > ... BIOS screen, then just a cursor flashing at the top on the left and a 100% locked the system.
    > Has nothing to do with Windows as the same thing happens if I remove the hard drive.

What happens if you remove the new card Wlan?

You can switch the BIOS screen and is Notepad starts the windows correctly?

If the laptop would be able to start without Wlan card inserted, then it means that the new Wlan card is not compatible. This could cause your problem

In this case, you would need to remove the WLan card and need to use another compatible Wlan card.

By the way: this is an interesting document from Toshiba which offer a solution to the question: + Wireless Lan (Wi - Fi) drops or disconnects completely. +

  • Satellite Pro L40 Wireless does not and wont stop correctly

    Hello
just got a Satellite Pro L40-15 1 week ago and it's been downhill.

The Wireless does not work (and yes the switch is activated and drivers installed). Sometimes windows recognizes no device when I boot.

And when I stopped he said blocking down, but crashes just on this screen.

Now, I'm an advanced user, so I've tried many things. Can anyone help?

    Thank you

As a first step, I would recommend to use the Toshiba Recovery CD and renew the operating system.
Then update the Vista of the State. I mean to install patches and fixes Vista all published.

    Check this thread:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums//thread.jspa?MessageID=107665

Here you can see that a missing patches can have a bad influence on the wireless network card and the entire operating system!

    Good luck

    Thanks waiting for a response

    Hello

    > How to install the driver on Windows XP?
Visit Toshiba's European driver, choose the model of laptop, download XP drivers and then install this
    Where is the problem?

    > I have a problem with the cooling fan is not cut at all before when Vista was closed, now is not off, why?
After you install Power Saver for Win XP, change the speed of the CPU to Auto processing and performance of cooling module low.

    > Where can I download the driver for your sound card, the sound volume?
There is not a special driver for volume!
You need the card its just driver!
To increase the volume and then go to control panel of-> sound-> reading and put all the settings of volume to the next level.

  • Wireless communication is disabled - Satellite A660

This is the second time this question has had this machine. The first time, it has been resolved by applying the defaults in the BIOS.

  • Tecra 9100: Wireless / Bluetooth Switch

I have the above and when I press Fn + F8 I get a message on the screen.

"Wireless is disabled. Please activate the wireless communication switch. »

When I try and install the Bluetooth stack drivers I get as much as the driver Bluetooth installation... screen and after a bit of activity of the HD, I get a pop-up message.

"Couldn't turn on Bluetooth monitor. Please activate the Communication of wireless switch located on the side of the main unit. »

I think that there is a problem with the switch on the front of the laptop. I that reason for my guess. Is - fixable. Can I fix it myself. Other ideas.

    Thank you

Hmm, don t think that the switch is the reason for this notification message.
Did you check if the laptop supports Wlan and BT maps?

To my knowledge, the two cards (WLan & BT) are optional on this Tecra 9100!
I think that you should first check this! Have a look in Device Manager

  • Average recovery creating Impossible on my Satellite L755D

    Hello

Try to create recovery disks for my Satellite L755D-10U through toshiba bulletin board, but whenever I click on the icon to create a recovery media, I get an alert that says:

the creation of means of recovery is impossible!

Not found the HDD Recovery folder on the second disc of the first hard drive. There is no valid Envirenment recovery of HARD drive on this computer.

My best friend has exactly the same laptop that I bought at the same time (sad, I know) but its made fine records. I don't do anything else, can anyone help me, does anyone know why mine does this?

    Thanks in advance

Still is it that creation of recovery utility Toshiba doesn't have access to the recovery image stored on the HARD disk.
Unfortunately, nobody here can tell why.

I put t know what did you do with your laptop, but I presume that you have changed the structure of the partitions or perhaps somehow remove HARD drive recovery image.

If your friend has absolutely the same notebook (the same part number (PSK4YE) that it can create this disc of recovery for you and you can use it on your laptop. If this isn't the case, you have a problem.

    Please send comments.

  • Satellite L755D-11W: cannot change the graphics chip in the game settings

    Hello

On my laptop Satellite-L755D-11W, in some games and applications does not change the graphics chip. Otherwise said, at the time to choose the right game, I want to put a high-performance and change AMD Radeon HD 6400 M-> AMD Radeon (TM) HD 6520 G, click Save... but the settings are not saved and the AMD Radeon (TM) HD 6520 G is not selected for the match (())

This happens not always, but often in the games and 3DMark2011.
Drivers for video cards are the last who are on the Toshiba Support site.
Official website of the AMD driver only is not supported (())

    Please help with this problem!

    Hello

L755D-11W uses the AMD Radeon HD 6470 M graphics chip.
So what GPU belongs to the Radeon HD64xx series and I don t think you could choose a series superior GPU (AMD Radeon (TM) HD 6520 G) in the properties of the game if the GPU is not supported.

  • Satellite L755D - accident of Ubuntu 11.04 with wireless

On Toshiba Satellite L755D, Ubuntu 11.04

UI crashes (OS hangs - like cron with date > file every minute * Watch) * random times - up to 5 times per day.
Reduced to the network interface. If the off wireless switch and use the ethernet cable looks OK, but just disconnect the cable also crashed it!

    Hey Buddy,

    > The user interface crashes (OS hangs - like cron with date > file every minute shows) at random times - up to 5 times per day.
It seems that the operating system does not work correctly
You have the same problem on the pre-installed Windows version?

If so, it seems to be a hardware malfunction, if it s just something wrong with the installation of the OS. A reinstall might help get rid me of this.
