Satellite L850 - Synaptics pointing device has stopped working

Hello

My touchpad works more yesterday, my laptop is a Satellite L850 PSKDLA OCCOOR
running windows 7 64 bit. I tried uninstalling the driver and re-setup, reinstall Toshiba value added package and pressing FN F9, none of them have helped

Any ideas that I can then try the laptop is only 2 months old?

If there is no problem to you reinstall OS using HARD drive recovery facility and test functionality with the factory settings. How to do that you can read on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R02.htm

Furthermore, if the material is installed and recognized properly can you enable/disable pad touch by using the FN + F5 key combination?

I have been using a USB mouse for a few weeks and touchpad is still operational. A few days ago the touchpad has stopped working. Hello

What happens if you disconnect the USB mouse?
You can use the touchpad again?

From my point of view, the use or installation of an external USB mouse has affected the touchpad feature, I can't say with certainty why and what is happening right here, but I read in various forums on similar problems and sometimes caused USB mouse use touchpad problems.

For example: in my case the touchpad does not work with connected USB mouse I was very confused, but found a solution in my case the option disable touchpad when USB mouse is connected has been verified and this disabled the touchpad.

    You can find it here:
Control Panel-> mouse-> last (Advanced) tab-> the Advanced Settings button

One of my friends couldn't use the touchpad because it has been disabled in the BIOS.

    Hi Jeroen,

I think that your problem is related to overheating rather than a defective display driver. The idea here is that it takes several attempts to reboot, giving the unit time to cool.
I suggest that you try to remove all dust and debris from your radiator and see if it improves the stability of your units.

You can download a copy of your display driver of: -.

My M70 lost (I will follow soon!). Windows XP has stopped working, registry problems. I finished by using the Toshiba Recovery disk and reformat the hard disk. Said again there is some registry problems and crashing.

    One had similar problems?

    Phil

    Hi Phil,

If your laptop is always report registry errors after having re-installed the operating system from the recovery disc, then it is likely that your hard drive has errors. The Windows XP registry is composed of several files (or urticaria), and the installation process will always be located in the same area of the hard drive.

    Hello

If the reinstallation of the system with the recovery CD does not help, then it is not a software problem.
This means that some hardware component is defective.
In this case, you need to take your laptop to the service.

  • Satellite Pro L20: Adapter WLan has stopped working and will not allow

    Hello

I have a L20 Pro Satalite, which works very well. However, just before Christmas 2006, the adapter wireless (Atheros AR5005G) has stopped working.

Windows XP Pro SP2 can see the adapter and network connections shows as being activated, but he sees not all networks.

The Atheros Client Utility says that the adapter pases troubleshooting TI test diagnosis up to the Radio, when he says that the Radio is disabled and must be enabled in the Client utility.

'Excellent!', I thought: opening the utility forward. Looked in the Action menu to find "turn on the Radio" is greyed out!

    Help!

    Any help is very welcome.

    See you soon,.

Is there a hardware option to enable and disable your wireless network card? (switch)
You upgrade your Wlan driver recently? (If Yes, maybe with the wrong driver?)

  • Synaptics pointing device does not work on my Satellite L50

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite L50, only bought 3 weeks ago, the touchpad has virtually stopped working. I can only move the mouse briefly when I first turn it on, and then it stops working.

Scroll still work and selecting, but I can't move the pointer it's just frozen. A usb connected wireless mouse works, I have searched all over the internet to do this and it seems a very common problem, but I still have to find a solution. I downloaded the drivers updated for it, and it worked a little longer than normal - 2 minutes, then nothing.

I can take it back to pc world I guess, but the problem seems so common, I just thought that there may be something else I can try before going through the hassle of return to the store.

    Any ideas would be appreciated

    Thank you very much

    Michelle

    Hi Michelle

It is not easy to say what the problem is here. Have you checked all the settings of Synaptics to see if everything is properly activated?

Since when did you notice this problem?
What you can try to do is to roll back OS tool of restoration of a few days back when everything was OK with system. The last option and also final test you can do is to reinstall the original operating system and test it once more using the laptop with the factory settings.

By the way: If you want to keep this notebook create recovery media using pre-installed recovery media creation tool.

  • Satellite M40X-189 - Touch Pad has stopped working

The touchpad has frozen. I rebooted the computer and the touchpad worked. This happened several times, and then by restarting does not clear the problem. I checked in the device several times Manager and sometimes the mouse was listed and sometimes it wasn't! I restored the computer to an earlier time when the touchpad was working but it does not solve it. An Agent from Toshiba offers the soft ware was corrupted and I need to save every thing and use the recovery disk to reload the software for the tablet. I'm not ready to do it again. Currently an ALPS pointing device and a compatible mouse HID are listed in Device Manager, and both are erroneously reported as working. Any other ideas on how to fix the touch pad?

    Hello

In my opinion, you should try to use an external mouse to see if it works again and again. Believe me on this path it is not easy to say why this happens.

There may be a hardware problem, but it must be tested. If you preinstall the unit with recovery CD unit will be clean and on this path, it is not possible to say that some additional software has any influence on that.

  • Satellite A300 - 1 5: webcam has stopped working - Webcam driver open fail

    Hello

    features of my laptop here: ([A300 - 1 G 5 | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/jsp/SUPPORTSECTION/discontinuedProductPage.do?service=EU&com.broadvis ion.session.new = Yes & PRODUCT_ID = 1055589]) for any need details...

The problem is simply, the webcam has stopped for some reason, an error messeage said "driver fail open Webcam. "Please restart camera or computer.

I noticed that whenever I put the computer in mode "sleep" I was getting on the bar notification says "USB device not recognized..." I was not aware of what it was - he thought because of the mouse USB is connected... but I think that its related to the camera...

the software is installed, but camera does not work and cannot allow him... I download the latest driver from the toshiba site, but still does not...

Currently, my laptop runs Vista HP SP2 32-bit, Windows defender enabled, Windows Firewall enabled, the Windows UAC enabled, Ani-Virus of Kaspersky 2009 Enabled. I only use Windows Live Messenger (which I think to date, version: 14.0.8089.726) I used camera with, I quite using recognition of faces a long time ago and rarely use the webcam... I didn't install or update all drivers and used to have the laptop works perfectly...

    So what happened now?

    Hello

I had a similar error message and might solve this problem by disabling startup webcam software.
In msconfig-> Start Up tab I have disabled the Chicony webcam software.
    This prevents automatic loading.
I don t use MSN but Skype and the Chicony webcam software is always off (unsigned) if Skype is running.

Maybe you should try that too.

In addition, you can try this:
Go to Device Manager, mark the webcam (peripheral video imaging peripheral USB) and removed from the list of devices.
Then restart the laptop and wait until the webcam is recognized again.

    Then test it.
