Satellite M35X-S329: discharge of battery if the AC is plugged

Hello world

I need help in solving this problem with my laptop. I have Toshiba Satellite M35X - S329 laptop. I am having some problems with the battery. It's here.

(1) battery discharges even power, the supply current is connected to the laptop. This causes the laptop to close after 2/3 hours when the battery discharge completely. He even begins to give alarm messages as soon as the battery power drops below 10% (this corresponds to the current setting).
If the power supply is connected the battery should not unload the power and the laptop shouldn't off after 3 hours (as the AC power is connected).
If the laptop is off battery is recharged with the same AC power.

I am not able to understand where is the problem

If the problem comes from the power running, then the battery is not recharged with the same power supply and power cord.
If the battery is the problem then it must be not able to load and unload.
Why the battery power when the laptop is connected to the power supply current.

I'm doing something wrong. do I set all the settings or update the BIOS or replace the battery or AC power cards. Please help me.

Kind regards
JK.

Note: when the power supply is connected the headlights before (AC light and the light) shines green and the battery light turns off. When the laptop is turned off when the battery goes to Orange indicating that its loading.

Hello

According to your description it s not a bad battery and not an AC adapter because it will charge the battery if the laptop is turned off.
Well, for me it looks like something wrong with the electronics on the motherboard.
But that is only my suggestion. To be 100% sure, some diagnostic tests are necessary.
This is why I would recommend asking the Toshiba service partner in your country for help.

  • How to manage the battery when the AC is plugged into Satellite?

    Hello

I just purchased Toshiba laptop first and want to get the best of the life of the battery, like that on my last laptop is now fuck.

My question is: if I have to run the laptop almost always from the power supply, is it possible or desirable actually remove the battery all together way to do not subject the battery to repeated loading and unloading cycles.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I also recommend to remove the battery from the laptop, if you use Notepad for most with the AC adapter.
You should also 3 - 4 times charge and discharge the battery completely.
This is necessary because the batteries maintain a memory effect.

You said it s your first laptop from Toshiba. So I think you should take a look in the user manual that must be installed on the device.
In my manual, I found several interesting information about the handling of the battery.

  • Satellite P100 PSPA3A: Replacement of battery for the RTC

I got an old P100 Satellite System for 3 years. Model # PSPA3A-01R00P.
There is a problem with the clock that he fails to keep time / the correct date.

I contacted my local Toshiba Service Agent inquiring on a replacement RTC battery and was advised that the cost would be $460.00 as it is necessary to replace a complete circuit where the battery is soldered in place.

I guess it's the fault, even if the laptop does not indicate that the battery is defective.
I can't simply afford to spend that kind of money to try to solve the problem.

Any suggestions to remedy the situation.

    Hi Tim

The replacement of the motherboard is always a costly affair, and in my opinion, you should consider various possibilities.
In my view, that a mobo of second hand could be an option for you.
I mean you could google or look on eBay for some laptops second hand P100 with a motherboard works.
I think it would be much cheaper than new.

But listen buddy maybe a RTC battery replacement is not necessary. Maybe the CMOS battery is empty and can be recharged.

AFAIK, you can reload the RTC battery runs the laptop for about 18-20 hours.
Connect the laptops battery and adapter to the machine leave it connected for a longer period.

I wonder if it will help regards

  • Satellite A30 switch of the battery, while the AC is plugged

I've had my A30 for 3 years now, but recently it has begun to move to the power of the battery while it is still plugged into current alternative. Does anyone else have this problem?

    Hello

In my opinion, there are two possibilities:
First the adapter has a fault or cable is broken and there is sometimes power fluctuations.
The second possibility could be bad connection between AC and power plug on the laptop or between the power supply and the motherboard.

However, I don't think you have enough experience to solve alone. I recommend you contact the ASP in your country for the control of the laptop.

  • Satellite A30-203: never cooling stops when the adapter is plugged

    Hello everyone,

I'm using satellites SA30-203. In recent days, main fan of my computer ceases when the adapter is plugged. When operating with the battery, the main fan is sometimes - normally - stop.
I'm not working only not with software that it takes a lot of CPU. So, what could be the problem?

    Kind regards
    Tunc

    Hi Tunc

In my opinion the activity of the CPU is not affected only by the software you use, but all activities. Many of these activities work constantly in the background and the works of CPU. Please don t forget that the processor is not the only source that produces a lot of heat. The graphics card is also responsible for the heat.

As you know all the hardware components are placed side by side and it needs to be cooled correctly. On my Qosmio F20 cooling fan starts to run even if the download of some files is active.

Believe me that there is no problem. You have a device of high technology with the latest hardware components and the unit must be cooled properly. I can recommend you to change method of cooling in electricity from the night before and put it in silent mode.

    Good luck!

    Hi mate

    This is nothing unusual.
You can take a look in the user manual and you will find information on the lose the power of the battery in STOP mode.

    But note;
-sleep / recovery mode hibernation etc. will reduce the time that the battery is drained considerably
-Always check if Wake On Lan or Wake it HDMI and USB sleep and charge is disabled in the BIOS

This will help to save the battery.

    Hello

first of all make sure that power management is enabled in the BIOS settings and is controlled by the operating system. (ACPI/APM settings) I don't know if you can disable this feature by accident on your model of laptop or if there is an entry at all on the power management, nut in the case where there is, it switches ON.

There can also be some related motherboard driver that is missing or messed up (misinterpreted) Windows. You can check first, if there is a conflict with the settings in the device associated with the devices in System Manager. If there is a yellow sign next to one of these devices, you will need to address this issue by the resettlement of some drivers.

Alternatively, you can save all of your work from your laptop and reinstall the laptop recovery CD. More than 70 percent of the pilot, the problems, it's easier healing.

Whatever the result will be, please be so kind and come back to share your findings for future reference and assistance.

He repeated it again and again and the calculation used sart. Does anyone know what the problem with him?

What model laptop do you have?

When the laptop cannot boot from the HARD drive, it will attempt to boot from LAN.

So either there is a problem with Windows or the drive is defective or too loose.

You have your recovery discs? You can use those to reinstall Windows, but if you have important data on the HARD disk, you should back up your data first.

You can save data by attaching the HARD drive to another PC using a 2.5 "USB adapter and copy your files to this PC.

  • Satellite A300 may depend on from when the power adapter plugged

    Hello

I have a problem with my Toshiba Satellite A300 when the laptop is connected to the power adapter I have no possibility to turn it on, it's only 2-3 seconds once it comes down.
When Toshiba is enabled with the battery power and I tried to connect the adapter it also goes down.
I have no problem with the charge itself, but only with working with AC adapter.

Please help me what can I do with this problem, does anyone has similar problem?

    Hello!

For me it sounds like a hardware failure of the motherboard if the AC/DC adapter is plugged and the laptop is turned on

I don't know but how best to m would be if you go to the authorized service provider nearest with the AC/DC adapter. Technicians can check your laptop and swap the motherboard if it of really necessary. The guys are very friendly and helpful!

Here, you can search the nearest ASP:

    2. I would like to know, if the battery is fully charged and inserted into the laptop, have an effect on the battery if the laptop is plugged.

1 using the laptop without the battery inserted is safe.
    2. If the battery is fully charged, the charge will stop. I don't think it has negative effect if the laptop is plugged in, but if you use always plugged in, maybe you should use it without battery. But in this case, you must be careful, because sometimes you must charge the battery.

  • Consider the message of your battery on the Qosmio X 770

    Hi all

as the subject says main message "Consider replacing your battery" appeared all of a sudden my Qosmio X 770 - 11 c.

The way I use my laptop computer is not with the battery, for the most part plugged all the time. From time to time I use the battery to drain up to 0% and then laptop closed I load it in full. Got the laptop for 4-5months and battery used in all not more than 3 times, so can't be that problematic.

Never had a problem with such a message in the past, but probably after an update or something in Windows, it began to appear, and I saw him just now.

Google does and discovered that there is a history of this notification of battery since Windows 7 RC, but my question is,.

Someone of you is aware of this? Anyone know a possible fix or a solution that actually works? Any advice?

I know that I could contact Toshiba and maybe solve this problem with a replacement of the battery (probably), but I'm sure that
my battery use is minimal and that it was never a problem, perhaps are something that we can fix somehow.

    Best regards

Future prospects for some answers and help :)

    Hello

In your case, I recommend to calibrate the battery.
Calibration means unload completely the battery until its completely empty and then to charge until the battery charge light would turn to green.
This procedure should be repeated several times in the line to make sure that the battery has been properly calibrated.

Of course, this will only work if the battery is not bad
Since this message may appear because of malfunctioning of the accumulator, a replacement would be possible also

By the way: Please check if a VAP (value added package) update or new installation would be helps remove this message.
