Satellite M40-284 - no signal on the screen

Hello. I have a problem with my laptop Toshiba M40 284.

I had a few probemms with load, I send it to a service, they have changed something, but for the installation of the new coin, they used a program and they didn't remove it the office.

After a week I had problems with it and I tried to reinstall this component. The problem is that this executable file I guess that it has deleted my BIOS. After that I started it my computer was completely blocked and afer completely refused to do it again.
When I try to start it tryes just to open, but I can see no signal on the screen, and after 3-4 seconds it stops and tryes to start up again but is the same, it stops again. I removed the disk hard but is you same.

What can we do in this situation?

Hello!

What type of program do you speak?
Maybe it's a program for (re) Flash the BIOS or something else I n s t know because I m not a technician for laptop.

I think that in this case you can do anything, but did contact the authorized service provider? I think they can help you more as we here in the forum. They should know what program it is and how to solve this problem.

Good luck and give us feedback. I am interested in. :)

Good bye

  • Satellite M40 - SD card stuck in the SD card reader

    Hello!

I have a Satellite M40 and today I had the bad idea to use the Toshiba SD card reader.

I inserted the card into the slot and he's going to profoundly inside. Try to get only back further by pushing.

Now the cards is aprox. 2cm inside the slot and there is no way to get it out.

This must be a joke. Please tell me where the secret button should get out of this card here. I let it go, really...

    Thank you
    Fritz

    Hello

As much as I know Satellite M40 has no SD card but media slot and it supports various media cards. Of course, you can not use all the cards available on the market but only supported formats.

Zim wrote very good explanation of how it works. Of course, with compatible cards only. Issue described can't happen with a SD card. It is too big and may not come 2 cm inside the slot.

I'm afraid that you have used the mini SD card. Am I right about that?
This card cannot be used without an appropriate adapter.

Bad thing is there is no secret button. :(

  • Satellite M40 does not load before the BIOS screen

When I turn on my Satellite M40 unfortunately it does not happened on 7/8ths blue bar going across the screen.

That left me completely baffled as what to do.

Apparently, it could be repaired by removing the cables on my CMOS battery?

If someone knows how I would go all this? or have any other ideas?

    Thank you xx

    Hi Dec,

Blue scroll bars indicate that the Wondiows operating system is loaded from the hard drive. If this process hangs while loading, then it is likely that the hard drive itself is defetive or else the files that are being loaded are corrupt and cannot be loaded.

Interfere with the CMOS chip will not fix this problem because the BIOS has already been loaded at this point.

If you have access to a bootable CD/DVD (such as Norton Disk Doctor) then I siggest you boot from it and running a scan of your hard drive. Alternatively you can try reinstalling your operating system of the Toshiba recovery CD but it won't replace your own data on your hard drive.

  • Satellite M40-285 - CPU overheating after the accident with water

    Hello everyone,

I have a Toshiba Satellite M40-285, and 2 days ago, my girlfriend dumped a cup of tea on the keyboard... The computer turns off after a few seconds. Immediately, I put the laptop upside down and disassembled parts. There was some liquid inside (especially inside the speakers under the keyboard and where is the DVD unit). Other parts (CPU, memory, wireless card, hard drive area) were completely dry. I have it with napkings and dry with a hair dryer (later I read that I shoud never use a hair dryer...).

The turs laptop on one seems to work fine (only the first screen where it says toshiba remains more than normal long (15 seconds or more) before entering windows). But the problem I have is that the CPU gets overheated and the laptop shuts down after 5-15 minits of use. I'm getting attention via the RightMark utility I said "* Core overheating * ' and the temperature always between 45 - 55 c

I replaced the thermalgrease but the problem remains. The CPU fan works (I think that the two speeds). The heatsink is very hot after the computer turns off (it burns my fingers if I touch)

What could be the problem? * Is the processor damaged? Can be a problem in the motherboard? *
I don't know what to don't know because is not woth the money to send it to the technical service, but I can't buy a new laptop now...

    Hey,.

I m wondering that the laptop is still ongoing and no more parts are damaged. In addition he s very cool that you could fix it yourself and dry. Many people don t know how ;)

In any case, if the CPU is overheating it seems that something on the assembly or the cooling fan is damaged and must be replaced. Possibly peut t fan run with the highest speed more, who knows.

Of course, it is difficult to say what is the cause of the problem, but in your case I would try ordering a new fan and the heatsink too. The two parties shouldn't t be expensive and it seems that you can replace yourself.
So just contact a service provider allowed in your country to order these parts. They can do this.

Good luck and feedback would be great, I am interested on this! :)

  • No Satellite Pro 6100 no response from the screen

    Can anyone help?

My 6100 Pro Satellite lit last night then automatically went into hibernation, despite being connected. Now when I turn it on there is no response from the screen, but if I plug a monitor to the laptop, the screen works (as long as I start in safe mode)

    Can anyone help?

    Hi Simon

Disconnect all cables from the laptop and remove the battery.
Wait a moment more (20 min) and reconnect the battery and the AC adapter.
Then check if the laptop turns on and if the display works fine

    Good luck

  • Satellite M40 - I can't find the drivers

I can't find any reference to the M40 model PSM43A - 11000H drivers on any website of Toshiba.

    The most appreciated assistance.

    Hi mate,

It seems that you have a Satellite M40, you have a Satellite M43. Model number PSM43A - 11000H I can find on the Australian Toshiba page:
    http://www.MyToshiba.com.au > Support > downloads

So search for Satellite M43 and then you can find all the drivers! :)

  • Satellite M70-339 vertical lines on the screen

    Hello...

I have a Satellite M70-339, which will show only the vertical lines on the screen.
I connected an external monitor and booted in safe mode.
    I uninstalled the display drivers.
I started to monitor and reinstalled the display drivers.
The computer will now boot up screen.

I put the display to indicate to both monitor and screen.

    On the monitor, all right.
On the screen, I get vertical lines color, similar to a wallpaper (wallpaper is not pretty).

Did anyone has got any ideas what could be the problem, or how to diagnose the problem
    Any help would be appreciated.

    John C

If everything is OK on the external monitor that is the best evidence that this problem is related to the internal LCD. Display must be exchanged.

  • Satellite Pro 2100 two cables behind the screen

Hi, first post so be gentle with me please.

I have a Satellite Pro Satellite Pro 2100 and the hinges are shot, so I bought a 2100 piece to Exchange.
Everything was ok except that I have two sons that I can't find a place to plug in. A black white and they are attached to the small square gold Ribbons that are glued to each top corner at the back of the screen. The other ends have little, but when I stripped the laptop they were in bulk and I do not see where they are going.

However, the laptop works fine without them.
    Can anyone help please?

All laptops with WLAN have this. WLAN antenna is placed behind the screen and these two wires must be connected to the WLAN antenna.

If your laptop doesn't have WLAN card put just the cables aside and everything will be OK.

  • Satellite A300 - turn is not on, the screen remains black

I have a laptop Satellite A300. I tried to turn it on when I got home from work and the screen remains blank. The bottom (plug, power and battery lights) turns on but the screen remains black.

    Can someone help me?

    Hello

It of hard to say what's going wrong here, but maybe it s just a small issue that could be solved easily.
    Try this;
Remove the battery, disconnect the adapter.
A few hours and reconnect the two parts.
I had this problem in the past and leave the laptop disconnected during the night.
The next day, I connected battery and adapter A\c and the laptop worked again

Maybe this will help you too

  • Satellite A300 - system still works, but the screen is blank

    Hello

I was downloading an update of tempro toshiba (synco or something in that sense) for my laptop Satellite A300 and the frozen screen. I pressed the power button for 5-10 seconds until it is turned off. When I turned it the system seemed to work but the screen is completely black.

I tried to remove the battery, and fn + F5 but the screen still won't turn on.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

    Rob.

    Hello

It happened because of the updated BIOS, or during the common software update?
In case it was an update of the BIOS I recommend contact the ASP in your country, because it seems that the ROM module must be flashed again.

If it happened during a common software update, so I advise to remove the battery and the AC adapter and wait an hour.
Then reconnect the two parts and check to see if you could power the laptop properly!

    Check it out!

I have a Toshiba Satellite A135-S2276, I bought 2 years ago. It worked fine except the clock which has never kept the exact time since I bought it. I turned it off Sunday night as I do regularly. But he could not turn it on Monday afternoon. The power light is not on when you turn it on, but primer. The light remains on but does nothing. The screen is blank when feeding it works.

Can someone help me with the answer? Thank you

It's hard to say what is happening to your knees. You can access Bios? Try to connect the external monitor and see (maybe the screen of the laptop disappeared)...

Help... dosnt do it every time, but most of the time. Not happy!

It is a fault, I don't expect this brand

    Thanks for any help

    Hello

    > I am disappointed to see the SHIFT key (left) and the CTRL pressed, causing the screen to go black intermittently when you type my blog...

What does this mean exactly? Press SHIFT and CTRL button turn off the display, and you are not able to see anything on the monitor?
    Is this good?

Have you checked if this happens with the help of an external USB keyboard too?
If this isn't the case, I guess that your keyboard is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced.

One of my friends had a problem with my keyboard. The cursor jumped around and some characters are displayed two times this could be resolved by the BIOS update I m do not know if your laptop uses the latest version of the BIOS, but you can check this too.

  • On Satellite M40-223 some games make the display freeze

    Hello
    I have a Satellite M40-223 with an Ati Radeon X 600 is.
Some games (such as shockwave, world of warcraft games or never)
Winter Nights 2) make freeze display and the crash of the laptop
(accidents do happen after the same amount). I downloaded the drivers
on the toshiba site (16/11/05, 6.14.10.6534 drivers) and nothing has
has changed. Then I downloaded the latest drivers from the ati site
    (http://ati.amd.com/online/mobilecatalyst/) and removed the older
(following the instructions of ati). The display freezes always but
Sometimes the VPU recover the previous session.
    What should I do?
I will try to uninstall these drivers and install the ones toshiba
Once again? When I installed the drivers from toshiba for the first
I did use uninstaller first, time could this affect the most recent configuration?

I will try to use the omega drivers?

    Best regards

    Laura

    Hello

It s not advised not to use the graphics driver from Toshiba. The other drivers don't support the overheating protection. The games are a high performance programs. If these applications are running on the laptop all devices must operate with maximum performance and produce a lot of heat. The high temperature could be responsible for this gel and close downs.

I read in the forum that you can install the other drivers (not Toshiba) at your own risk.
I think you should check the fans for dust and debris.
Sometimes the cooling modules may not cool properly because the dust and, therefore, these problems occur.
Additional do not forget that there is enough free space around the laptop to the airflow correctly

    Thank you

The error message is not known to me and also looking in google didn t get advice.
Maybe your Windows operating system is confusing upward.

Have you tried to boot Win 7 in safe mode?
Try this. Restart your laptop, press the F8 key.
In advanced startup options, select the option called Mode without failure.

If the laptop does not start Safe Mode, try the last good known Configuration option.

If this n t help, try to fix my computer. Here, you can choose between different settings.
Who could solve that problem is HARD drive recovery that helps you define the notebook to factory settings. But it also means that your disk should be formatted!

    So be aware of this!

  • Satellite 1800-921: antenna integrated behind the screen?

Can someone tell me if the Satellite 1800-921 has an antenna behind the screen?
    Thank you
    Peter

I guess you mean a kind of antenna? As far as I know behind the screen is placed antenna WLAN for supported models with WLAN connectivity.

I wasn't able to find info on Satellite 1800-921, but if the unit is supplied without WIFI I guess that there is no WLAN antenna behind the screen. By the way: I believe that the Satellite 1800 series is delivered without a WLAN option.
