Satellite M70-147 - Blue patches on monitor

My monitor displays blue stains instead of some dark colors.

No no matter who ever encountered this problem? Maybe it's a driver problem?

I can't imagine what it looks like. Can you please test it and an external monitor? Please post the result.
It will give you the answer to your question.

Two weeks ago, I bought a Satellite M70-147 and a Toshiba E-mouse (PX1215E-1NAC). Two of them again.
So far I've failed to do E - the mouse to do its job. I applied the installation instructions to the letter, but nothing helped.
I discovered that they call it a compatible DID USB mouse, HID, which means Human Interface Device. His driver is mouhid.sys (Windows\system32\drivers), version 5.1.2600.0 and dates August 17, 2001. Not terribly up to date, I would say, but alas! I was not able to find an updated driver, not to Toshiba, not at Microsoft.
Everyone knows a similar frustration? If so, it has resolved and if so, it would be so good in regard to tell me how?

    Kind regards.

    Hello

Well, it is very difficult to say why this E-mouse doesn t work.
Have you tried to use this mouse without the touchpad? Did you get any error messages?
Check if this mouse works on another laptop or desktop PC.

  • Satellite M70 - 147 - which driver I need for the wireless card?

    Hi all

I installed Windows 7 on my Satellite M70-147. Everything works fine, except the WLAN.
Does anyone know that drivers to use (perhaps a universal) to make this work?

I don't know what card is in my notebook, I tried the drivers of toshiba for adapters intel, realtek, and ahteros.

Your help would be much appreciated!

    Hey Buddy,

First you must make sure what WLAN card you have. Therefore, you can check the device ID and device for the provider Manager. Enter these codes on this Web site: http://www.pcidatabase.com/

You will see you have the WLAN card. After that, you can try to install the correct driver for your card.

    Good luck! :)

  • Backlight does not turn on more Satellite M70 147

    Hello outhere.

The backlight on my M70-147 M-series lights no more.
First of all, I noticed that when the awakening of the laptop from the standby or hibernation mode.

At first I thought that the screen did no more work, but when I looked closely I could still do believe the icons on the desktop remotely. So, initially, I rebooted the laptop and then most of the time the backlight will light and stay on.

But now he did not do more, not even when I close the screen (to force the standby mode) and then open it again, the backlight won't turn on.

I also looked at other forums and topics, what the cause could be a faulty inverter or a broken rear window.

So can anyone with the symptoms described tell me what could be the cause?
I am sure that everything goes well with the graphics card because when I hung on my laptop to my LCD of dads he just showed the Office from my laptop on the LCD display. Also the first time I did it after pressing Fn + F5 several times the screen of my laptop would come on a few times. But now it does not more.

So can anyone with the symptoms described tell me what could be the cause?

    Thank you very much.

    > Can then anyone with the symptoms described tell me what could be the cause?

For me, it looks like a faulty FL inverter.
The FL inverter is a small part behind the frame of the screen and it controls the backlight.

Usually the external monitor should work fine because the FL inverter affects the internal display only...
However, the problem can be solved by the replacement of this part.

I recommend you contact the Toshiba ASP in your country to get this part replaced

  • question of ati2dvag on Satellite M70 - error blue screen

Hello im hoping someone can help me with these problems I have. Well one day to start up my computer I is no longer boot into normal mode and having to use safe mode, the computer changes the display on its own and goes down to 16 bit color, when I restart my computer suspended unless I have start in safe mode and then other times I get the black screen saying I choose SafeMode shape etc. When I load secure form mode it starts right away and then I restart to return to normal mode it hooked to black screen, but if I'm not in safe mode it takes forever to initialize. The blue screen that appears shows the following...

The device driver got stuck in an infinate loop. This usually indicates problems with the device itself or with the incorrect programming hardware device driver.
Please check with your hardware device vendor updates the driver.

My laptop is Satellite M70, XP Home SP2. ATI X 700 video card is.

I tried to uninstall display driver, no help. I even tried formatting HARD drive and reinstalled XP Home with recovery from recovery DVDs, worse yet, I can't even finish the recovery process, it is always hung when starting Windows, and then even a blue screen... More as soon as the load of windows xp, the screen has very low resolution with several vertical lines distributed evenly on the screen...

Unfortunately, I think that you have to return your laptop to the point of service.

    > The device driver got stuck in an infinite loop
To me, this looks like a corrupt graphics card.

I think there is not much to do and ask the help of the technician.

  • Is Satellite M70-339 supports port external monitor?

This model has a (d - Sub 15-pin) port for connecting an external monitor? -The data sheet on this site does not list one!

Copy of it please respond to [email protected]

    Thank you

    Hello

I put t found any information on the satellite M70-339, but on the M70-337.
I think that the two units are not different and the ports are the same.

However, as far as I know the M70-337 supports RGB (monitor) port on the left side, and you can connect the external monitor to this port.
This device supports also a s-video port to connect the TV to the unit.

    Hello

AFAIK the m70-147 was delivered with a 80 GB HARD drive.
This HARD drive has the rotation of serial ATA interface and 5400 RPM of the training.
I put t know if is it possible to use the 7200 due to heat production.
The HARD disk with a 7200 RPM produce more heat as a 5400 RPM HARD drive.
In this case, it is possible to s that you have an overheating problem.

  • Satellite M70-147 - the battery does not recharge

    Hello

I have a problem with my battery, it seems that it does not re - pay.
First of all, please read the following:

-When I start the laptop with AC power plugged the battery seems to be charged to 100% according to the Toshiba Power Saver.
-When I remove the block AC power the display brightness goes down, because it goes to the battery, until here everything is normal. However, you do not see the percentage decreases, it remains 100% which means fully charged.
-After a few minutes, an audible alarm indicating that the battery is almost dead. When the alarm sounds the Toshiba Power Saver then indicates that percentage is about 6%.
-Then I reconnect the power supply and turn on the orange light showing that the battery is charging. The light orange he should be in charge, but the percentage remains at 6%. But after 10 minutes the percentage suddenly increases to 100% and the orange charging light turns off.
-When I turn off the laptop and reboot immediately after that the alarm is triggered, the Toshiba Power Saver says also that the battery is fully charged or 100%. This seems a bit odd.

So my question is: what is the problem with the battery? or is there something wrong with AC/DC adapter? could result in the fact that he does not seem to charge more. Or is there something wrong inside the laptop.

If anyone has an idea please let me know, thanks for now.

    I think I know what's wrong.
Your battery seems to be dead.
My old laptop battery can be used for about 2 min even it s fully charged.
It pays for 2 min, then it s completely empty.
Is nothing unusual as the battery slowly loses the own performance and it s just a matter of time where he died.
I don't need a new battery because I m using Notepad as compensation for my desktop PC and the laptop is always connected to the sector.

But if you need to use the battery, then you will need to replace it with a new one.

    Good bye

  • Satellite M70-147: graphics card drivers required

Anyone have any idea when they will release the new drivers because I already have problems with some games because I have old drivers and even Ati mobility drivers does not work because I sort out equipment protection system on my laptop.

And Yes, I already posted another topic like this, but I can not connect nomore on my old account so I had to create a new.

    Thank you

    Hello

The fact is that Toshiba to recommend to use the Toshiba graphics card drivers because this driver has an overheating protection. These drivers one specially designed for the use of the laptop and it s not recommended to use any other rivers that are designed for desktop use.

If you use other drivers, you can do so at you own risk!

  • Satellite M70-147 WLAN Wi - Fi drops

    Hello

Could someone please tell me what to do to avoid that my wireless connection WLAN oscillating randomly 54 2 and between the two?
    I have a 642 D-Link.
OS = Windows XP Home SP2

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

In the first case, you should check whether a new WLan driver is available and try to update.
In addition, you can change some settings in the WLan card properties.
I put t know what minPCI WLan card you use, but very similar on each card.

To access the Wlan card properties please got to Device Manager, select the network card wireless network adapters, right click and you will get the properties option.

New window should appear and you will find different tabs. Go to the single tabs and disable energy saving.
In the Advanced tab you should find other settings. I don't know if the option called signal strength exists, but if so, you must set the max m.
Of more if you only use the standard WLan 802.11 G, you must set the WLan card only to this standard.

But please note. The WiFi signal strength could fluctuate due to the distance between the laptop and the router WLan and obstacles such as concrete walls.

  • How can I change on Satellite M70 keyboard?

I need to change my keyboard of my satellite m70-147. How can I do this? If my dealer should do this I have to drive for a long time.

    Hello

You could probably do this yourself, but you are not certified may void your warranty. One option is to call your ASP and ask if you can send the phone to them. Most is held at this request and it saves time you have to drive. From this website you can find your local dealer and a phone number and mailing address. I hope this helps.

When I connect to another manufacturer (model AL1721) monitor, the screen remains black, if I connect to another monitor manufacturers (model AL1716) everything works fine.
If I connect a projector there also is a black screen.

    anyone an idea why?

    Hello

How do you connect the monitors and the projector? with an analog or a digital (with adapter) cable to the screen?

Another question: when you connect your AL1721/Beamer and turn on the machine, you can see the Toshiba logo or something else. Is the error just that occur in windows or the "DOS" screen, too?

BTW. have you reinstalled with recovery or separated from an original disc of Microsoft windows and the drivers you have installed?

  • Blue screen sometimes appears on Satellite M70

    Hello

I would like to express my immense frustration with my laptop satellite M70 as I have for over a year now (warranty expired) and almost as soon as the appointment was an issue in which that a blue screen appeared and restarting the computer... According to the error report that there is a problem with the graphics card or display driver.

I take my dealer for repair, but the problem remains (there went 3 TIMES! more waiting for a month for repairs every time! and they send it to the service of toshiba...)... that the problem does not occur * all the time * it seems they just didn't notice or something: (.)

I update all the drivers, but it had no effect on the problem...

So now what? Do I have to send it for repair and they finally replace the graphics card... what I pay? !!

This is all very upsetting to me as you can imagine...

And know its worse... it seems to happen more... and many times the computer won´t restart after the blue screen... there just black.

Now, almost everytime I turn it on it will not start... the fan will work only for a few seconds and that's it.

I'm almost certain that the graphics card is defective... can I replace it at home? Argh this just feels bad, the computer had this problem almost from the beginning, and I sent it for repair... they just don't fix it... I wouldn't pay to fix it as I sent it for repair 3 times while he still had the warranty...

Answer please I'm desperate and have no idea what to do

    Hi João

    > So now what? Do I have to send it for repair and they finally replace the graphics card... what I pay? !!

No! Back up all your important data and reinstall the operating system using recovery media delivered. After doing this watch carefully if the problem persists. I have the same laptop on a year, and it works perfectly. I noticed a BSOD just twice, but both times after installing stupid some shareware programs.

I have removed from the system and everything was OK again. Please make the clean OS install and post again if the BSOD occurs again.

  • Satellite M70-340: screen went completely blue or black

    Hello world
I just bougth a portable Satellite M70-340 and twice tonight screen entered a single color (black once, once blue) and although I could still hear the windows work (I could hear the Windows alert sounds and alerts by MSN mail), the screen went completely blue or black. I assume that the error is caused by a problem of display driver, so I downloaded the latest driver present Intel on this site. I don't know if it will work.

My question is, did this happen to someone of you? How did you solve this problem? And even though I have an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Mobile, I could install the ATI driver on this site? (I prefer ATI driver since it is out of date.)

Thank you all for your interest,
    Best regards.

I guess you have mobile Intel graphics card. In this case, you can only use the graphic driver intel from the Toshiba page or are also website of intel.

But you cannot use the ATI graphics driver! You laptop has ATI No. graphics card!

However, you suggested that it is a new laptop. I would recommend to contact Toshiba service partner in your country. The guarantee is valid and you should take it!
