Satellite P105 - stuttering Vista problems

I have a laptop P105 with the GeForce GO 7900GS and I've updated the BIOS for the new 4.70 and I still have the problem of stuttering under Vista (games and 3d applications to stop a moment every 2 or 3 seconds).

I m tired of this problem and I can't believe Toshiba have still not solved! I have this laptop for 2 years now and always with this problem...

I use Windows XP for good performance and I m thinking that Toshiba really doesn t have a solution for that.

Toshiba guys if you're not going to give us a real solution to this problem at least unlock the video card BIOS or release one with the GTX frequencies to win a few fps in games under XP... Most of the people with P105 doesn't guarantee more so if we screw up the laptop doesn't matter more!
I tried all the drivers and all that a man can do in trying to find a solution to it, but nothing... And there are MANY people with the same problem, I mean 90% of P105 owners have the same problem...

Bye and sorry for my English: P!

Hello

I think that this has been solved already!
See this Toshiba document:

+ New video driver and BIOS eliminates video "stutter" during the game (Windows Vista) +.
http://askiris.Toshiba.com/ToshibaSupportSite/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=1924 764xml & sliceId = & dialogid = 83448307 & stateId = 95 10834501

It s clearly mentioned that BIOS version 4.20 and nVidia display driver to version 7.15.11.5666 or newer should solve this problem!

    Shailesh

    Hello!

I put really know why this happened, but to be honest, in my opinion 15GB or 16GB are not enough for Vista!

On my second Toshiba laptop running Vista, I need 30 GB for Vista installation and all my programs. I n t installed many programs, only programs that I use really (desktop, Skype, ICQ, Photoshop, AntiVir, VideoLAN, etc.) and those 30 GB are only for programs not data! I stored my documents, pictures, etc. on the second partition.

So in my opinion you should have at least 40 GB for Vista. If this isn't the case, you must upgrade the HARD drive.

  • Satellite P105 - GPU overheating as fan does not work

I brought a Satellite P105 - S9337 laptop computer around a year ago and it's been great, but I had a problem that began a few months ago. The GPU fan does not run under windows or any OS. It works correctly in the BIOS, but when I hit the operating system, it will stop. This is obviously the cause for overhead.

-J' tried different drivers of Toshiba and other sources. Currently using 7.15.11.5666 which was the last version of Toshiba.
-Tried all BIOS and running 4.40.
-Cleaned it if sure there is no dust blocking the fan wheel.
-I even sent to Toshiba for repair 4 times and it comes back with the same question.

It's as if the fan control is equal to change the operating system when it reaches him like bios and basic OS (dos, the flash media bootable back past) works very well. It runs when she is hot and stops when it is ok.

At the moment that I leat overheating for a while then he seems to remember he's a fan after 30 minutes or more and comes into play. It works on OS at full speed, until my laptop loses power or I unplug battery, that I did today to increase the RAM.

There must be some drivers or BIOS out there that allows the BIOS to manage the fan or it just as it manages itself is so it doesn't overhead. I'm not pleading can someone help me with what it's getting very boring. e-mail is [[email protected]] If you want to contact me, because I'm out of ideas.

If I can't get this resolved I'm thinking of dismantling and wiring of the fan on but would prefer to avoid that for now.

My laptop (P100-481) was overheating too since I have updated BIOS 4.20 and above all. The latest version of the BIOS with work-fan control was 4.00.

There are two ways to set the fan control:

1 go to BIOS 4.00. You'll get stuttering in games because the initialization of GPU in the form of Versions all 3.30 to 4.00 are buggy.

    2. you can try this way: [http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?s=679696d192a1f43137253716ebd799b8&showt = 19190 CIPO & view = findpost & p = 79039]

It's not easy install a double Windows, but it worked for me.

There is a bug in the BIOS 4.20 4.30 and 4.40 and a lot of people have trouble with the GPU fan. So hopefully Toshiba find time to fix it in the near future.

  • Satellite P105 - do not print to my wireless printer

So I just upgraded to an HP Officejet Pro 8500 first and my Satellite P105 S6014 will not print it!

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but I am a complete novice when it comes to such things, so I hope someone can guide me through the steps of how to configure this computer on my home network properly (I have a computer on the network and the router), then see if my laptop then recognize and print to the new HP.
Therefore, there is no problem for the old HP 7600!

I am operating Windows XP on my laptop and Vista on my desktop, do not know if it matters, just thought I would add it in there. I ran a network test report wireless of my printer yesterday and without wireless and networks both happened, but the network name (ssid shows) failed.

Any help at all would be great! The laptop is used for work and I need to be able to print from this evil! I know it's asking a lot, but if someone knows how to fix this problem, please tell me how!

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

This means that you want to install your printer to print wireless instead of USB?
If Yes, you must complete the configuration via USB first.

Last week, I installed my new printer too but the Photosmart C4780. My salesman told me that I should complete the setting via USB first and then add the wireless feature, what should I say and it worked perfectly!

So, insert the floppy disk provided with your printer and follow the instructions on the screen. Everything will be explained very detailed with pictures. Choose the USB port and test everything. If it s ok, run the disk and add function to print wireless.

  • Satellite P105 carpet * a dvd player does not work with Win 7

    Greetings,

I need an upgrade on my dvd to my vintage Satellite P105.
I want the possible fastest dvd burner right now because I'm a fan of film and keep them in digital memory.

    (1) first should I get an external drive or can I get the best performance with an internal dvd replacement of a reseller of parts or Toshiba?

The problem is when I've upgraded to windows 7 things have changed. I lost my sound, but that solved using a driver inherited Visa as apparently the sound 'Council' on the laptop is for Vista only. Then I found the dvd player which is a mitsu * an internal UJ-450 does not or is extremely slow in saving films, records or files. The available recording software seems also planned for Vista performance was acceptable. Even the dvd burning software does not work.

    (2) so my question for multimedia specialists is: what should be my next move?

    (3) should I go outside and confront the neck of the bottle USB or

    (4) to make the speed of the bus on the internal dvd?

    (5) given an internal dvd is preferable, because it's exactly a dvd-ram/IDE as it is currently, or some other configuration of bus.

    (6) most importantly, what dvd burner would give me 18 x speed with current programs like ConvertXtoDVD and did as a symbol external or - better - as an internal dvd replacement or my slow drive currently?

Of course, if you could give me a model number and direct me to the sales it would be much appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

    Rachel_1

    > 1) first of all I should go for an external drive or can I get optimal performance with a dvd replacement internal to a coin dealer or Toshiba?

You should know that not all internal STRANGE machines are compatible. You will need to use a not compatible and supported and such device could be ordered in a local ASP.
But it s more expensive as an external CD/DVD device so you could also choose an external that would be compatible with all computers and laptops available.

(> 2) so, my question for multimedia specialists is: what should be my next move?
As mentioned. Good option would be to buy an external burner drive ODD

(> 3) should I go outside and confront the neck of the bottle USB or
External device are compatible with all computers and are less expensive

(> 4) go to the speed of the bus on the internal dvd?
If you have the money for an internal device and want to use it with P105 only then you can also choose an internal burner.

(> 5) because a dvd internal is preferable, because it is exactly a dvd-ram/IDE as it is currently, or some other configuration of bus.
As far as I know it s an IDE interface, but the device would support setting master or slave or c - salt. As mentioned, you can buy a Toshiba a recommended.

(> 6) especially, what dvd burner would give me 18 x speed with current programs like ConvertXtoDVD and did as a symbol external or - better - as an internal dvd replacement or my slow drive currently?

This Jolt Tech from HP does a remote that I could print wireless. He has changed the settings I had to fix, but the one I have now, I can't.

When the computer starts now I get a host with:
Please logon on to register your fingerprints.

Please specify the name of an existing instance on the invocation of Sqlservr.exe.
If you think that you install is corrupt or has been tampered with uninstall then re-run Setup to correct this problem.

I don't want to use the software of fingerprint with the above message, I don't like.
I would like for my laptop to load directly in windows without login stuff.

I tried to solve the problem of the Toshiba forum who proposed to change the settings in the fingerprints management system. I tried and it doesn't work.

    Hello

I wonder what site Toshiba driver did download you the drivers?

Mhhh is s a Toshiba model we designed and delivered by US.
Thus, you should use the Tosh site to download driver.

I have check the pilot US page didn t find the XP drivers and it's one reason why I asked.
I would recommend when even update the Win XP OS on the latest state. This means that you should visit the Microsoft site and should perform a patch test!

  • Satellite P100 and Vista gaming performance

I have a Satellite P100 with Vista Ultimate installed and all playing games, I get a stutter every 4-5 seconds where the rate is significantly reduced. I tried all the nVidia drivers from that published by Toshiba (97.54) the most recent pilot 101.41 with no improvement on this issue.

The strange thing is that it worked fine before the launch of Vista on January 30 and I ran a legitimate copy of Vista Ultimate for 3 months without this problem. He seems to have been some update published at that time on windows update that caused the problem.

It seems to be fairly widespread issue specifically with this series of Toshiba laptops I found many references in other forums of people have the same problem with a P100 and a 7900GS or similar video card.

Is there anyway to know if Toshiba are aware of the problem and are working on a fix?

It is a laptop computer that once bought 10 months came with a "Windows Vista Capable" logo on this subject and is spec'd for games with a 7900 GS with 512 MB of video ram. You hope that they could solve this problem.

    Hello

It s I don't known what games is underway on the unit you but the Satellite P100 is a very powerful laptop and the most games must pass smoothly.

You said that the stuttering appears since you installed Vista on your laptop
If it is certainly not a laptop or hardware problem!

Well done is that Vista needs and wastes more resources as the WinXP laptop and possibly a reason of delays of graphics

May I ask what you play games?

I followed the link on this site to search for drivers, but I don't know who should be installed and in which order.

    Hi all

My Satellite P200D has Vista Premium o/s, was about 5 years old now

Has worked well enough until the last of three months or more and developed a problem of restart.

Hit restart button and it stops, then after several attempts get it at startup and on the screen that shows the internal PC Repair or Normal startup mode option. The only way that I can get to the login screen is to click on Normal mode as the automatic repair option does not work.

Has decided to switch to Win7 to see if that would solve the problem.

Now there is another problem, and it's the login admin password screen. The cursor flashes and any attempt to type password does not visibly show the words you type.

Also tried and external usb keyboard does no difference

    Help, please

  • Errors of memory to the Satellite P105-s6177

    Hi all

I have Toshiba Satellite P105-s6177. He was showing classic symptoms of disorders of memory for months - I get random patterned like MEMORY_MANAGEMENT bsod BAD_POOL_HEADER and a few others, I don't quite remember, especially something on a page in a fault zone unpaged. He lived several reformats nothing doesn't. I ran the windows memory test and it said that I had a RAM error within seconds of starting.

Recently, I tried to reformat since the backup drives that Toshiba came with the computer and the computer got a BSOD in the middle of the restructuring process. I tried for a few times more and get what Google tells me is a RAM error. I pulled out a piece of RAM, tried, replaced the RAM pulled the other piece, try and get errors of memory. I apologize because I don't remember the name of the specific error that I receive, I will try to provide as soon as possible.

Basically, I cut down to either the two pieces of RAM being corrupted or virus in the BIOS, simulating a RAM error. Is there a way I can test it for a virus in the BIOS? Currently, I can not even the computer to boot, it has no operating system installed on it because of the fiasco of reformatting. The most I can do, is bring up a command prompt.

Thank you for your time and attention.

And why don't you try to get the new RAM module and test it? For me, it's the best thing you can do now.
There must be some problems with the RAM addressing.
