Satellite P105-S6114 - Toshiba Upgrade Wizard for Vista displays error

I use Satellite P105-S6114, I received the Windows Vista express upgrade DVD from Toshiba. According to the statement, I downloaded site taisvistaupgrade.exe [http://vista.toshibapc.com/vista/wizard]. After execution of the executable I get following error.

"Your remaining disk space is 16 GB, you need more than 15 GB to upgrae to Windows Vista. Please keep more than 15 GB disk space and restart the upgrade wizard. »

Wizard executable is upgrade later available as those downloaded from the site seems to be with bug trying to compate '16 GB' with 'Go 15.

Hello!

I put really know why this happened, but to be honest, in my opinion 15GB or 16GB are not enough for Vista!

On my second Toshiba laptop running Vista, I need 30 GB for Vista installation and all my programs. I n t installed many programs, only programs that I use really (desktop, Skype, ICQ, Photoshop, AntiVir, VideoLAN, etc.) and those 30 GB are only for programs not data! I stored my documents, pictures, etc. on the second partition.

So in my opinion you should have at least 40 GB for Vista. If this isn't the case, you must upgrade the HARD drive.

Good bye

    Hello

Toshiba has also developed and Power Saver for Vista and will be installed with added Vista package.
But the energy saving of Toshiba for look of Vista doesn t as the saver of energy for Win XP.

TOSHIBA Power Saver for Vista belongs to Vista power options, and you can find some additional entries in Vista Power Options.

But you won't find a stand as only Toshiba Power Saver for Win XP.

  • Is there a Toshiba Power Saver for Vista?

I can't find a version of POWER SAVER for vista. This is only for XP?

    You are right.
As far as I know Toshiba Power saver for Vista doesn t exists and it is not released.

You probably noticed that own power options of Vista are very similar to the Toshiba power saver. You can control several power settings and create profiles of different powers. An additional tool such as energy-saving is unnecessary.

  • Satellite P105-S6114 - gray line vertically on the screen

    Hello

I'm new to the forum so please excuse me if I look like a novice (because I am).
I have a Toshiba P105-S6114 that suddenly developed a gray vertical line about 1 inch wide and about 3 inches from the right side of the screen. It seems that if it is washed out. You can not see on white screens but is very sensitive to all other colors. It appears when you start the laptop to search on the net, I think while it is on the screen. What is the screen? or something escapes me?

Please correct me for false assumptions in my post.

I started pricing new screens. Locally for installing I got a quote of less than $500.00. I saw on ebay (new) about $280.00 aus replacement screens. Installation I expect about $100.00. If someone knows a cheaper solution, I would be very happy to hear it.

I saw a screen for a P105-s6062 that appears from the PDF file to be identical to the S6114. It is second hand, but sounds like a viable option. Does anyone know if the screens are identical, including the connections?

Someone at - it any other suggestions? I'd be happy to hear from someone as the laptop itself is large and I don't really want to get rid of it.

    > It appears when starting the laptop to search on the net, I think while it is on the screen. What is the screen? or something escapes me?
It might be the screen of laptops, but it could also be a malfunction of the graphics card.
If you first need to know what's exactly wrong.

In your case, I recommend you to connect a second external monitor to the laptop.
Then check if the same vertical lines appears also on external monitor.

If the same could not be visible on the other display, the chances are high that a graphics card is malfunctioning.

In this case a replacement of the motherboard would be necessary and this would be a costly affair!

Anyway, in both cases, I would recommend contacting the ASP in your country.

    Good bye

  • Satellite P105-6064: Windows always searches for new hardware, reader of CARDS SD

When I insert my SD CARD windows search for new hardware, it happened only with the SD CARD, when I use my CARD MMC is not the problem, I have the latest drivers on the site of toshiba and windows XP - SP2

    Hello

It seems that the Satellite P105-S6064 PSPA0U supports a 5 - in1 bridge media adapter.
This bridge media adapter supports the shared locations. This means that several types of cards can be used in this slot as a Secure Digital (SD card) card, memory stick, memory stick pro, Multi media (MMC) card and card xD picture card.

Seems that after the use of different cards, the pilot must be refreshed and so windows search new device.

In my opinion, there is nothing wrong, but it would be interesting to know if the same thing happens on OS installed since the Toshiba Recovery CD.

By the way; The Sat 105 seems to be a mobile US and if you need drivers you must search on the Toshiba site we drivers compatible and taken in charge!

  • Satellite A200-1DY - need added package for Vista 64-bit

I can't find t value added package for 64-bit vista in any web update from Toshiba and I need because I installed the 64-bit version of Vista. It works fine but I need VAP and it seems that there is not.
Why Toshiba don't have PPV for vista 64?

Seems that the Toshiba VAP is not available for this model of laptop.
    Why? Who knows. ?:|

But from my experience, Toshiba VAP contains some applications that control certain features of the laptop as FN keys for example.

It seems that these applications have been outsourced and you can download it separately.
    For example this:
    _Flash cards support utility 1.48.0.3C_
This tool is required to use the Toshiba Flash Cards (FN + F *)

  • Tecra M5 PTM51E: Toshiba Power Saver for VISTA?

I'm running Vista RC2 (Build 5744) on a Tecra M5 (UK PTM 51(f)) and it is amazingingly stable after update
the standard video driver. Update nvidia driver is great and works very good systems (!)

A number of vista drivers is available at the United States for Tecra M5 but not for the PTM51E.

Could adversely affect install any drivers PTM51E UK? I have probably 3 facilities of exceptional pilot - CO-PROCESSOR BIOMETRIC and 2 unknown devices x (1 TPM chip and 1 fingerprint).

Was wondering if anyone had updates similar pilot in circulation and if you had had a driver or tried the American versions.

I also noticed that some of the United States vista drivers are a bit outdated compared to the UK drivers (ie. driver network card intel etc.) UK standard drivers works fine.

Touchpad support is great, but please PLEASE bring back the TOSHIBA POWERMANAGEMENT SOFTWARE under VISTA. This software from toshiba is desperately needed here.

    Best.

    Hello

As you know that Windows Vista is not yet on the market, and in a few weeks we'll know more on Vista and Vista support. Unfortunately, we have to wait until the end of January. Here in Europe it is the official term for the launch of Vista.

I don t know if you will have success with American pilots, probably yes, but maybe is better to wait and see what drivers are available for your model Tecra M5 (PTM51E).

  • Satellite P105-S6114 - need new hard drive

I have a P105-S6114 who has a BAD bug in it. I think my only option is to replace the hard drive. I can't find the documentation of origin came with the computer (2.5 years) and I'm not finding much info on the Toshiba site.

I need to know if I have a SATA or ATA hard drive and, because I can't find the original supplied disks, how to reinstall the operating system. I have a copy of Windows XP I can load.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello!

Why do you replace the HARD drive? Of course what he s defective?
You can check the drive with the Drive Fitness Test:

On the Toshiba site I founded the user manual. Check it! http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com

If you have lost the Toshiba Recovery disk you can contact an ASP and request a new one. On the Toshiba site, you can search the nearest ASP.

  • Satellite A200-211 - toshiba common module for Win7

    Hello

If I understand the common module from toshiba and toshiba logical device added value are the same. and I tried to google the two of them to download for my Satellite A200-211, which works on windows 7 ultimate 64-bit, but I CAN'T find at all.

Do any help to get it? Thank you

    Hello

    > toshiba value-added peripheral logic and toshiba common module is the same

No, the common modules are designed only for Win XP and this software is used by other tools and software from Toshiba, so in many cases the common Modules must be installed in order to get other software treatments of Toshiba by using Win XP OS.

The VAP (value added package) is available for Windows 7 and Vista.
It controls the FN keys and multimedia, buttons and adds an extension of Toshiba to Win 7 power management.

If you are using Win 7, then you must install VAP.
Check the VAP Win 7 64 bit which is released for other series laptop Toshiba L500, A660, or new models of laptops

  • Satellite A200 - 10W PSAECE - BIOS need for Vista 64-bit

    Hello

I'm having problems trying to update my BIOS under Vista 64-bit of the system. The plashnt.sys driver generates an error when loading.
On the update of the BIOS page I can't find no 64-bit BIOS update for my laptop Satellite A200-10W (PSAECE). Also I've seen most of the computers portable ETA is updates of BIOS of 2009 and my update to the newest BIOS comes from 2007 (version 1.80 for Windows Vista)!

The reason why I'm trying to update my BIOS:
I have recently installed 4 GB of RAM on my laptop, the screen of the BIOS reports 4 GB but during POST, there are only 3! Vista reports also only 3 GB of physical memory total. I ran a series of landmarks and notes I got using 4 GB are well below the marks using only 2.
Memory modules have been tested on another laptop and none of these problems has occurred (another laptop of the manufacturer).

So I really need a sollution to update my BIOS and prefferably a BIOS update of 2009 available for download.

On the other hand, I was looking for specifications of my laptop on the Toshiba site and I couldn't find my model on the current models, or models discotinued page. In 2007, when I bought the laptop, it was listed as new on the current page of models, so I expect at least to see it in the abandoned list.

    Thank you for your time!

    > 1. Why there is no updated BIOS newer than that of 2007 and
There is no update of the most recent BIOS as Toshiba didn t release new updates.
Why? Who knows maybe a new update is not necessary.

    > . Why my laptop is not listed in the discontinuous model (Satellite a200 - 10w psaece)
Why should it be included as a discontinued model? The A200 series is not very old... so I n t think that this series could be abandoned
