  Hi everyone, I got some troubleshooting with my Satellite and a new drive, I bought recently, because that is already damaged because of too many bad sectors. One is a Western Digital Scorpio Black 320 Bg (WD3200BEKT model number). It should be a fast reader but is not with my Satellite.

  After having mounted the drive in the laptop, I ran a new installation (with full disk format} Windows 7 (64 bit) with all the necessary drivers (that I downloaded directly from the Page of Support Toshiba.)

  The problem is that the laptop needs a lot of time to start and also to disable, and whenever I try to run an application or start a program (for example Firefox, or just a few windows applications), the laptop freezes for about 30 to 60 seconds, the drive no longer works (you can hear leaders put in position 'parking' and the HDD LED control is constant) ", no lights flashing).

  It seems that the drive (during this 30-60 seconds) in something as a stand-by mode. I ran a few Western Digital diagnostic tools and the car looks all right to 100%.   If I understand you right you can see when laptop starts and you see Toshiba welcome screen. Is this good?

  The problem concerns a Satellite A200 (PSAF6A-02H01N).

  Recently, there was problems with the laptop, taking several attempts to boot to Vista, it would lock up while loading or just hang and freeze just after loading Vista.
  But once it was up and the laptop running would be happy working for hours with the AC adapter is plugged in.

  The problem got worse now and the laptop will not load Vista end without crashing.
  We have now reduced the computer down to have only a problem when the power adapter is connected.

A few 4-5 or more seconds after I press Volume upwards or downwards until the press is registered. A very weird situation and nothing helped so I deleted the audio driver of Dell. I use the default Windows driver now and so far everything is ok.
