Satellite P30/P35 - not run from power or charge

HI :-)

I have 2 laptops that have developed the same problem. After I turn on a random amount of time more later (usually a very short time) past then there is a click and the battery stops in charge (charging light turns off but the power light is still on) but the laptop will continue to operate, but the battery until the battery is flat.

The only way to get that back to normal is by stopping (then the blue light on the power button stays on) and unplug the power cord when the same small click is heard and the blue led turns off) and if there is no battery installed then it will just doesn't turn off and the power light will give you a few puffs of heat for a few minutes.

I tried it with 2 different Chargers and about 4 batteries with the same results, but I guess that maybe one of the batteries can be fauly and damaged something in laptops unless there is a party who gives up after a few years in laptop computers? The clicking sound is close to the switch. Any ideas would be very appreciated.

Best wishes... Ron

Hi guesstalot,

> I tried it with 2 different Chargers and about 4 batteries with the same results
In this case, I guess it has something to do with the motherboard or with a control of the load on the motherboard. I mean if you have tried different Chargers and batteries, it s not related to these parts.

In my opinion it of the motherboard which is the cause. Alternatively, you can ask an authorized service provider for help. Technicians can check and order a new card of mother for you.

    Hello

On this path, it is not easy to say what can be the problem and just inquiry may help, but from your description, I'm afraid that there are some critical material damage. It may be something wrong with the power supply (motherboard) or perhaps is the grilled CPU if you have done something wrong with the thermal paste.

Sorry, but I think you should contact the partner customer Service in your country and check it properly.

  • Satellite A200 - will not start with power supply connected

My lapop is 2 years old. Whist trying to boot it restarts at least 2 times and I am running Windows 7.

My old battery lasts about 20 minutes so I bought a new and the first time that I loaded up it gave me an hour of a time value of battery, but on the second cooldown it has provided for 20 minutes.

It does not always to the top while the power is connected do you think that my motherboard is defective =.

    Hello

Normally, if you connect the laptop AC adapter shouldn't t stop. Everything should work correctly as the system even starts the battery would be defective.

So, I think you already wrote that the motherboard is faulty. In this case I recommend to contact an authorized service provider. Technicians can order a new mainboard and Exchange! :)

  • Satellite C650 will not run recovery

Hi, hope I can be helped here,

I have a satellite C650-166, there lack of battery while doing a windows update standard, now he used to re boot. I fear not the laptop to factory settings, to rest that I intended to do anyway.

I followed the instructions on the screen to run the Startup Repair tool, but whenever I do this it loads its files, then goes to a black screen with just the cursor.

I tried the, hold 0 way to fix and I just get the same thing every time, I hit the 'repair your computer' then it does not make the system recovery options...

I am using an external monitor, but I don't see what is the problem that I wouldn't be able to see the cursor... surely?

Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance

In general the document recovery disk image installation works as described in follow - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R02.htm
So please try with F8 at startup. Not working?

By the way: I assume that you did not create recovery media, right?

    Hi michel_91,

If the drive works properly in Windows, it seems to be related to your startup disk. I put t know which drive you are trying to boot from, but you should try another. Maybe it s scratched or something else in order to test another.

  • Satellite A30 will not run on sector, only on the battery

My Satellite A30 battery recharges the AC adapter when the laptop is turned off, but when I turn on, the laptop runs only the battery and no power outlet. I get a green light indicating that the AC adapter is plugged in but no battery light. The symbol power tells me that it is on the power supply (Full Power Mode). Sounds like something horrible inside.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Suze

What happens when you remove the battery and you try to start your laptop using only the AC adapter?

  • Satellite A60 - do not start after power supply fault!

    Hello

I know it's a long shot, but here's the situation!
    I had a Toshiba Satellite A60 PSA60E for repair.

He had the power plug inserted into the back of the case of the break taking, damaging U4 and hit 3 resistors.

I have now replaced the socket, transplanted the resitors counsel doner and welded in a new IC (U4).

Now when I turn on I get the LED illuminating as expected (Inc. that blue on the power button) but nothing on the screen, no fan, no disk buzzing etc away.

Ideally, I would like to try subing cpu etc but don't have any alternative to play with.

If any ideas whatelse could be wrong on that?

Not sure I want to risk the cost of a new motherboard (that they is availible) or that it would be interesting to the replacement of the machine.

Look forward to some good advice
    Thanks Jon

    Hi Jon

Unfortunately, I n t think that someone here in the forum will give you a precise answer and provide the solution it seems that it s a motherboard problem.
As you know that the computer motherboards are complex parts with many electronic details.
It of impossible to say what could be the problem on the Board without any detailed controls.

To my knowledge, card repair mother is not so easy and expensive so you should not pay for the repairs, but buy a new Board of Directors which is covered by the warranty or second hand board which is much cheaper

In any case, he s strange that he doesn t work then you change some parameters of display or any other driver/software driver?

  • Satellite M40 does not start from hard disk - read error

"I push the button - briefly see the In Touch with tomorrow TOSHIBA screen - then ' + a disk read error occurred press Ctrl Alt Del to restart +".

I control alt delete brings me briefly on the screen TOSHIBA where I can choose either F2 or F12.

Do I need a startup disk and where can I get one in order to boot from the CD ROM?
Do I try to get into the Satellite M40 product Recovery DVD-ROM - this concern for me as the hard drive will be reformatted and all data will be lost.

    I'm stuck please help!

    Hello!

If you enter the product recovery disc, Windows will be relocated and will be erasing all data on the HARD drive.

I think that your HARD drive is damaged. You can check this with the Drive Fitness Test. Here you can download:
    http://www.HitachiGST.com/HDD/support/download.htm#DFT
Download the CD image, burn it to a CD and boot from it. Then you can test the HARD drive.
On the same site is a user's guide if you want to know more.

By the way: you can save the data on the HARD drive, when you put it in a box external HARD disk. Then you can save the data on another PC, if the HARD drive is ok and have no errors.

    Good bye
