    Hello

    > Nothing present in the work station in BIOS
Hardware problem, I want to say that if the BIOS does not recognize the CD/DVD drive (no details are listed), then its hardware based question looks like.

Just a question; The ODD (optical disc) is listed in the Device Manager?
You see something like yellow exclamation?

Have you tried to start using different discs like win XP CD or Linux Live CD?

  • Satellite P300 - CD does not read DVD

Purchased by Satellite P300-16 t about a month ago, using Vista Home Premium. Until today, my cd/dvd rom drive worked very well.

Now when I try and insert any dvd is not be recognized at all, i.e. that there is no disc in the drive. Audio CD play well, but any type of dvd or original dvd-r/rw is not recognized.

When you click on the player itself in 'computer' drive ejects then and I get a message to insert a floppy disk in the drive. I'm not too knowledgeable about these things, but I checked the drivers are up to date.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and also to set a system restore point upward on a week but still no luck. I prefer not to take it back to the store that I have pictures and videos now on the laptop and one galley to remove so if someone can provide that a solution would be grateful. I also deleted the values of upper register in redegit and deleted any software addition burning like nero. Now driving me crazy

    Thank you

OK... you have attempted to assign the OS to the point of time at the beginning, but have you also tried to boot from a Toshiba Recovery DVD.
If this problem is related to the hardware of the CD/DVD drive problem, then it shouldn't t possible to boot from the Toshiba Recovery DVD.
In this case, the CD/DVD drive should be replaced by ASP.

But if it of possible to boot from the recovery Toshiba DVD so your ODD is not damage which could be only a software problem.
In this case a new installation of operating system and use of recovery DVDs should help solve this problem of CD/DVD drive.

In my opinion it s worth a try

  • DVD player not recognized; error code 10

Our Museum has a Dell Optiplex 745 on which the XP operating system has been replaced by Windows 7 Professional.  The DVD drive is not recognized, and the error code 10 stipulates that the driver could not be loaded.  I tried upgrading the driver online, but I was told that the driver installed is the right one for this player.  If I remove the drive with the machine on, uninstall the driver, stop and then restart and then restarting to reinsert the DVD, the computer recognizes the drive and install it and it works.  When you restart the computer the next morning, the car disappeared again.  Would appreciate any help I can get!

    Thank you!

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are

  • Satellite M70: HARD drive not recognized external - various XP error messages

    Hi all

I have a Satellite M70 and I have a Western Digital external hard drive.
Initially, it worked great, I was able to put my large collection of music, etc. on it and run a computer off to save space on my integrated HD.

But recently I had problems with XP not recognizing HD or be able to write in it. It appears in my computer, then disappear, often randomly when I write new files to it.
I reformatted the hard drive to NTFS as it ran originally as FAT32.

I updated my BIOS as well, but I'm out of ideas.

Anyone else had similar problems with XP?

    Thank you

Have you thought about external HARD drive failure?
Perhaps failure of HARD drive and, therefore, it cannot be recognized correctly.

  • Satellite U400-119 - battery not recognized

    Hello

I just bought a laptop TOSHIBA Satellite U400-119. The operating system is Windows Vista Home basic.
Before I turned on the laptop, I plugged on the CC adapter and let the batteries reload for 24 hours.

However, after 24 hours, battery LED icon is orange and blinks (which means that the battery is low according to the user manual).
When I tried to turn on the laptop without the adapter DC laptop computer did not respond. So I installed Vista while the laptop was still connected to the DC adapter.

After installation, the Vista battery icon displays a red cross on the battery icon, which means that it is not recognized.
This is a brand new laptop so I think the battery needs to be replaced, but I don't know.

Someone at - it had a similar problem?
    Any sollutions to my problem?

    Thanks in advance!

A display really interesting because one of my friends got the laptop U400 and a similar one issued what s happened too.
Suddenly, the battery did not recognize I thought that it s a malfunction of the battery. But I was wrong.

    The solution is very easy.
You must update the BIOS and this should help get rid you of this strange issue.
My friend did the same thing and it worked!

So check it out. Download the BIOS compatible and right and update!

  • Satellite A355-S6925 - SDHC not recognized

My Toshiba Satellite A355-S6925 does not recognize a Lexar Platinum II 32 GB SDHC card class 4.

My last hard drive crashed and I replaced with a new one and installed Windows 7 from scratch.

Am I missing a driver or firmware to use the built in reader SDHC?

Please help, I just bought a camcorder and I want to transfer video.

    Hi michael_fuglas,

    > My Toshiba Satellite A355-S6925 does not recognize a Lexar Platinum II 32 GB SDHC card class 4.
Hmm, I think that the card isn't recognized due the high capacity of 32 GB. As much I know 32 GB cards are not supported for all card readers

In your case, I would try a smaller size such as 4 GB or 8 GB. Generally these cards should always work.

Original problem would not initialize only power light and hard drive light came on a second, nothing on the screen, not access to the parameters of F2. With disk hard deleted computer will start after market boot disk and running program diagnosis ok. Can now access the settings of F2.

Format external hard drive, reinstall and start with the startup disk, hard disk appears in the bios, the test runs diagnostic ok.
Tried to install Windows XP and XP pro and windows twice starts to install and then comes up with an error saying there is no hard drive present, even if the Bios and a diagnostic boot disk at the same time recognize the hard drive.
Tried another hard drive with the same problem, not recognized.

  • Satellite A10 - recovery disk not recognized

I want to format my hard drive and reinstall windows xp.

Of course, I have Toshiba A10 laptop with HDD 160g, 1 g of Ram, cd/dvd player and the restore disc (cd).

Problem: the restore disc is not recognized by the cd player. When I insert the disc, then again, boot sequence goes to hard drive and boots from there

    What I did:
    1. check if the reader sees another s cd. Answer Yes, Yes
2 boot sequence of the bios checked as well as toshiba consoles set up made sure it is
in "order"hdd, lan, floppy, cdrom", (I tried other combinations starting with cd as well).
    3. I cleaned the restore disc, didn't work
    4. I ordered another set of Toshiba restore disk, which did not work either, still not recognized
    5. I bought a cd/dvd external reader believe it or not, disc starts to work in this case, I get a warning screen shows all data will be lost and asks me to click if I want to continue, when I click it says will now restart the computer and it does but comes back and goes back on the hard drive and boots from there.

I must also add; When I switch on I get "' pxe e61 media test failure, mof outgoing intel boot agt" msg, according to my search, this problem indicates hard disk.
but my hard drive does not work,

Will someone give me an advice?

If the BIOS is set to boot from the local network first, before trying to boot from the HARD drive, you will see the error PXE.

Have you tried to clean the lens in the DVD player? Wipe with a Microfiber cloth.

try holding down "C" when you turn on the laptop, this will make it boot from the CD.
