Satellite P300 - 23 M - has the HARD 4200 RPM drive?

Hello

The information is true, that the HARD drive has only 4200 RPM?
Or is it a mistake?

THX

As far as I know it is true that this laptop HARD drive 4200 RPM.
In addition, the HARD drive has a SATA interface.

I'm not sure but maybe you can check this with a tool of information material such as Everest or PC Wizard 2008.

  • My Satellite P300 forget sometimes load the video driver

My laptop (Satellite P300) sometimes "forget" to start to load the videodriver.
If the resolution is by default in the Windows startup screen.
No matter what version of Windows I have, all the drivers are up to date.

When I restart for the most part, the problem is solved...

To be honest I never heard of something like that. in recent years, my brother has P300. In the beginning he used with original Vista and 2 years its P300 works with Win7. No problem at all.

I don't know which OS you are using now, but have you tried reinstalling the video driver (display)?
I also hope that you are using driver on Toshiba download page.

  • Satellite P30: How to format the HARD drive and install a new OS?

I have a satellite P30 laptop with Windows XP. I plug myself a new OS (namely because I can't find my old recovery CD CD and OS) that I want to do a re-shape full of my system. Reason is that my system has been painfully slower and slower over the last year. I even updated my RAM to 512 MB standard supplied with the machine to 2 GB, but it seems to have had little or no effect. So my questions are:-

1] where can I get my hands on the restore CD that has all the drivers on this subject, and any recovery CD to reformat my HARD drive?
[2] in the order in which I will make this reformatting?
How can [3] after having bought an external HARD drive to keep files that I don't want to lose, I transfer those of before my re - format?

Any help will be greatly appreciated

    :-)

    Hello

You received with the laptop Toshiba Recovery CD! Am I wrong?
    So what s the problem?

Simply insert the CD and try to boot from this CD.
The restore CD contains all Toshiba drivers, tools and utilities Windows OS + additional software like Win DVD for example.
The installation will set the laptop to factory settings, but will also format the HARD drive!

Up to now, we come to the point 3; --> How do I save the data
If you have purchased a second HDD and connect it to the USB port and transfer all the necessary files on the second HDD
If you have purchased only the HARD drive, then you will need a USB HDD 2.5 case.

    Best regards

  • Can satellite M70-337 - I put the HARD drive?

    Hi all,.

I have a Satellite M70-337, the vehicle currently has 40 GB of hard drive. The laptop has served me well and I want to upgrade the hard drive 100 GB +, anyone has done this?

If Yes please advise on the type of hard drive required and their availability. I have 2 GB of RAM and want to run Windows 7 on this computer.

    Hey mate,

Of course you can upgrade the HARD drive why not? :)

AFAIK Equium M70 already use hard drives with Serial ATA interface. This means that you must buy a 2.5 HARD drive with this interface.
For example, a 120 GB model should work!

In my view, it is irrelevant, what type (manufacturing) that you choose. There is no major differences, but I have good experiences with Western Digital.

  • Satellite Pro M40, failure of the hard drive - the new disk restore disk?

    Hello

My Satellite Pro M40 hard drive died and I want to install a new drive. Unfortunately, my old drive is 60Gig and the Web of Toshiba parts site has only 40 GB or 80 gig drives.

I have problems with the recovery disk if the hard drive is not exactly the same thing?

    Your advice would be appreciated.

    C

No, he should t be any problem with the Toshiba Recovery CD.

On the recovery CD, you'll find a Windows OS, Toshiba drivers and utilities and software further.
These entire applications are packed into image files.

You should only be sure that the HARD drive is compatible with your laptop and it will be recognized in the BIOS.
Then simply to boot from the recovery and installation CD must start.

  • Satellite A200 - how to replace the HARD drive?

Hey, I recently some strange problems with my laptop. I installed a new copy of Windows Vista and also tried with Windows 7 a few times. But eveytime I get problems. The installation of the operating system right. But after I installed some Windows updates my computer becomes very slow and at some point, I am unable to install any application, because it crashes just when installing... This happends with all the big software products such as Visual Studio, 3d Max, After Effects... etc.

So I think that my HARD drive has a large number of bad sectors. I also tried to erase everything on my drive with KillDisk, but it hangs at 16%. Once again something that seems to be my HARD drive.

But before you buy a new, I'd like to hear your opinions on my problem and I would also like to know how I have to replace my HDD on a Toshiba Satellite a200. I don't know where it is placed and what parts I need to unscrew.

    Thanks for any help.

    Hello!

The HARD drive is placed on the underside of the laptop.

The HARD drive on the underside Bay is fixed by two screws. Remove the screws and the HARD drive. Then you can swap the HARD drive.
But unplug the AC adapter and remove the battery before doing this.

The new HARD disk must have the SATA interface.

    Good bye

  • Satellite P300-1EI - is a second HARD drive possible?

    Hello

Before to change the hard drive for more capacity, I would like to know if this laptop is capable of managing 2 hard drives?

There are 2 places to a physical hard disk, use for the current HARD drive and the second is empty. The connection is present, but I don't know if it's usable? The coverage is also different, he did not use to put something in this space...
If someone could give me some information about this second location?

    Thank you

If you see a connector in the second HDD bay it is possible to use a second s HDD.
Try it, but I think it should work.

As far as I know for the Satellite P300-1EI you need a SATA 2.5 HARD.

  • Satellite P300 - how to use two HARD disks?

    Satellite P300 with 2 hard drives (250 (= 232)) GB.

The first hard drive seems to be partitioned as (Vista) C: and F: (data). The F: drive contains a folder HDDRecovery, which I understand is recovery Vista using F8.
The F: drive takes 117 GB and is empty outside the data recovery.

I seem to be able to create additional folders on this drive F:, but I am concerned about the reliability of the data in these additional files, because it is on the partition of "valorisation".

I want to reduce the F: drive and add a FAT 10 GB drive at the end. Then, I want to install Linux on the 2nd HARD drive, using the Toshiba boot options to choose the boot drive at startup (DO NOT install GRUB on HDD1 but on HDD2). The 10 GB FAT at the end of the 1st HARD drive will allow sharing of data between Linux/Vista.

    So, questions:
    (1) is it safe to use drive F: (recovery) for normal data storage Vista?
    (2) the possibility of recovery will affect in any way if there are records of additional data on the recovery disk? (Note: I am not in contact with the folder HDDRecovery somehow, and I did the recovery DVDs).
    (3) can I reduce the F: drive without affecting recovery options?

    Thank you very much
    GB

    Hello!

    I completely agree with Garrett.

I store my files on drive F too where is the HDD Recovery folder but I didn't not store files in there. I create additional folders.
In addition, I would like to change the size of the partition where is the HDD Recovery folder. Maybe it will not work after that, but if burn you the recovery disk, you are on the safe side.

    Good bye

  • Satellite P300 - randomly turns off the power when connected to the external monitor

    Hello

    I have a Satellite P300, Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 2.53 GHz, 4 GB RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 512 MB, running Windows 7 ultimate x 64.

Recently, I bought an AOC v22 led screen and connect my conputer via HDMI. Everything works fine, but sometimes my computer off just randomly. I might have something to do with my computer overheating, so I clean the fan, but this was not good.

I think it has something to do with the LED screen because my computer was never off his own.

    Hello

So this also happens if you n t connect laptop to external display? So, you can determine what is causing this problem.

If the computer laptop doesn t turn off without external monitor, you should try to update the BIOS and the display driver. Two updates that you can find on the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

You close the lid if you have connected the external monitor?
What operating system do you use?

In addition, it would be interesting to know how you clean the laptop. That's why I use the jet of compressed air that can blow the dust from the cooling fans and you don't have to disassemble the laptop.

    Good bye

  • Satellite M70 - down keyboard when the HARD drive gets hot

My Satellite M70-181 begins typing "t" series when you reach the working temperature. In my case, if the HARD disk exceeds a temperature of 48-50 ° C (speedfan).
I replaced the original Travelstar with a new HDD Samsung, but it becomes so hot that precedes it and the blackout keyboard still appears.
Because the processor is idle most of the time, the fan is too slow. But the fan doesn't seem to affect the temperature of the HARD drive in any case.
Any ideas anyone? (Sorry for this kind of English...)

    Frank

    Hello

Have you noticed this problem with keyboard only when the temperature is raised to a higher level?

To be honest, I have never experience this problem and I can't believe that a higher temperature of HARD drive could affect the functionality of keyboard

However, maybe you should clean the grids and the cooling fans. The notebooks are clogged with dust and don t cooling modules work properly.
Use a jet of compressed air which should help to remove dust, I think this should help to reduce the internal temperature.

  • C55 - A satellite - keep Windows after changing the HARD drive?

    Hello

I want to buy Toshiba Satellite C55 - A, which is pre-installed Windows 8.1 and the recovery on the HARD drive Partition.
I also want to buy 256 GB SSD and put it in Toshiba (and use the external as hard drive from Toshiba HARD drive).

Can I install Windows 8.1 that I bought (preinstalled) on the SSD?
    If so, how?

Of course, you can swap the HARD drive with an SSD.
The key is the recovery media (USB key or drive).
You must create a recovery disk to replace the HARD drive.

Laptop Toshiba computers are preinstalled with software called Toshiba Recovery Media creator.
This allows you to create a recovery media that you can use to reinstall the system on the new SSD installed!

  • Satellite P300-212 - system causes the periodic high CPU load

Windows Vista Edition Home Premium (OEM) on the Toshiba Satellite P300-212

Even on a system Windows freshly installed (from recovery DVDs), the system process (PID 4, NT Kernel & System) causes on a regular basis (every five minutes) a CPU load high for a few seconds, during which the system hangs, not even the mouse pointer can be moved.
Sysinternals Process Explorer identifies the thread of high load as "ntkrnlpa.exe! ExfTryAcquirePushLockShared + 0 x 15 2 "with the thread ID 20 or 24.

Does anyone have an explanation for this behavior or a solution to the problem?

    Hey,.

If you have installed Windows recovery disk Toshiba but still high CPU usage? Hmm that's strange because this image is tested by Toshiba

Have you installed or uninstalled any software or tools?
I uninstall the current antivirus and disable some start up programs you n t need in msconfig. Usually, this should work.
