Satellite P300 - how to install Windows 7 64 bit?

Hello

I had a Toshiba Windows 7 upgrade for my P300 which was under Vista 32 bit. During installation, asked me if I wanted to install 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7 and I chose 32-bit. Installation worked fine.

Now (moths later) I decided that I would like to install the 64-bit version instead. I have an own (custom) settled by booting from the DVD, but it don't did me not option for the moment and all re-installed Windows 7 32 bit. I know that the 64-bit version is on the DVD (there is a folder for it) - how to start from the DVD and have it install the 64 bit version?
I didn't format the drive when you perform the clean installation - if I do that it will give me the option?

Thank you
Ben.

Great news, mate! :)

Thank you for this feedback. I'll test it on my Satellite P300 I want to upgrade to Windows 7 too.

In addition, an upgrade is possible to the same version: This means that Vista 32 bit can only be upgraded to 32-bit Windows 7. On 64 bit it s the same ;)

  • Satellite L635 - how to change Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit?

    Need help.

Satellite L635 bought a few months ago with Windows 7 Home Premium installed on the HARD drive. When the first time activate Windows, I can choose 32-bit or 64-bit Windows, then I chose Windows 7 32 bit.

Can I switch my laptop RAM 4 GB, 2 weeks ago. And I come to know that windows 7 32 bits can not read more than 3 GB of RAM. Only windows 7 64 bit can read more than 3 GB.

My question is, how do I change from 32-bit to 64-bit Windows because toshiba gave me Windows 7 install CD / DVD. Windows has already been installed on the HARD drive.

    Thank you.

    Hello

    > because toshiba gave me Windows 7 Installer CD / DVD
Yes, because you must create this disk yourself using pre-installed recovery media creator. But I m wondering why ask this question here because it s mentioned in the user manual you must create this disk as soon as possible. If HDD recovery would fail or install another OS, you need this CD to restore preinstalled settings of Toshiba.

If you use the (boot from it) Toshiba Recovery disk, you should be also asked if want to 32-bit or the 64 bit version of Windows 7. So I recommend creating these discs and use it to install Windows 7 64 bit.

  • Can satellite A100-003 - I install Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit?

    Hello everyone,

I have the Satellite A100-003 and I've been running it with Windows XP since I it (triple). Now I want to install Windows 7 on it, however, I'm confused about what can I install on it.

I have a few places on the Toshiba site, I found that I can install Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit), but I can met some problems with the BIOS, in other places, I tried but could not find the drivers for Windows 7 64 bit.

So what is the case? My first goal is to install windows 7 64 bit, because I have 4 GB of RAM on my laptop, but even the 32 bit would be a better choice than XP right now.
So I can install Windows 7 64 bit on my laptop?

Thanks in advance for any answer!

    Hello

Important before installing another OS, you check the Toshiba driver download page. Satellite A100-003 belongs to the PSAARE series and is therefore not available for Windows 7 drivers. You can only get the drivers for Windows XP and Vista 32 bit.

This means that you can try to install Windows 7 because Vista drivers most also work on Windows 7.
If this isn't the case you find newer drivers yourself, maybe you can find something.

  • How to install Windows 7 64 bit on Windows 7 32 bit

I made an unfortunate mistake.  I installed Windows 7 32 bits instead of Windows 7 64 bit on my installation of Vista on a gateway GM5626 (which has a processor Intel E2180 CPU).  Regardless of if I now start the 64-bit DVD directly or starting up in the 32-bit Windows 7 installed now and then try to run Setup manually.  Any suggestions?

  • Can satellite A100-011 - I install Windows 7 64 bit?

Can you please tell me if I install Windows 7 64 bit where can I find the drivers, because they are not listed on the Toshiba site.

    Thanx.

    Akis

    Hi Akis,

    > where I can find the drivers, because they are not listed on the Toshiba site.
That of the point because the drivers provided for this model, you can find on the official website of Toshiba. There's no other place where you can download the pre-tested and official drivers for Toshiba laptops.

Theoretically, there s no problem to install Windows 7, but you don't have to search the drivers yourself on other sites like:
    Etc.

An alternative you can try 64 bit Vista drivers. Usually they should work on Windows 7 too.

  • Satellite A300 - how to install Windows XP

    Hello

In order to use certain virtual machines of Windows, I need to change my OS from Vista to Windows XP... My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite A300, equipped with Centrino 2 (2.26 Ghz), 4 GB of RAM

I would like to know if it is easy to install Windows Xp on my computer, and if there is not driver related to issues of this...

Could you please give me some instructions to install Win XP and all my drivers to make my laptop works under the best conditions.

Thanks in advance for your support

    Hello!

In your case I would visit the Toshiba driver download page. Search for Satellite A300 and Windows XP, you will find all the drivers you need.
It is therefore no problem to install Windows XP because you can get all the drivers of Toshiba.

    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

But don t forget, Windows XP does not recognize the full 4 GB of RAM. I think this should be 3, 2 GB because it is a 32 bit OS.

  • Satellite P300-1GN - cannot install Windows XP SP3

    Hi all!

I bought the PC laptop Toshiba P300-1GN for a few weeks. Windows Vista is bad for this computer, but Windows 7 works like a Charm. But Windows 7 is not compatible with my programmers tools.

On the Toshiba site, I saw the drivers for Windows XP. Tried to install Windows XP, but I got the blue screen with error 0x07b. In the PowerQuest Partition Manager both hard drives have error partition #702 (something like that number) but under Windows Vista and 7, drives are works fine without any errors.

What seems, that's the problem? Drivers SATA Windows XP or something else with hard drives?

Needs a very fast before going to Toshiba service desk information.

    Thanx.

    Hello!

You get an error message or something else?

In my opinion that isn't a description of error so I can t help. If you want help you need to post more information.

  • How to install Windows 7 32 bit, updated to 64-bit

Hi, using windows 7 32-bit for a year, but I like to upgrade to the 64 bit version, my info is required system. {processor intel dual core 3.00 ghz, 8 GB ram, 2 GB NVIDIA graphics card,} so for all these requirements may be able to install the 64-bit, although I tried once to install but it says I can not confrtable in this version.so what can I do, please help me on this problem

You need to boot from the disc, by setting your BIOS to do. I have provided these instructions in my previous answer. Remember, there is no way to upgrade from 32 to 64-bit, it's pure install only.

  • Satellite A100 - how to install "Windows XP MCE" on a new HARD drive?

I have a laptop Satellite A100-495. the cd/dvd does not work and I have a new hard drive. Now, I want to install the original os (windows xp professional, mce).
I'm trying to put the files of my original restore on a USB cd but never works and I did not find useful clues in any part of the forum.

Is there anyone out there who can help me?

    Hi, marawe

It would never work if you just copy the files from recovery Cd on a usb key. You need to make a BOOTABLE FLASH DISK, to do you need an application like Flashbot... Google.
Download and install it, after that you can make a bootable usb key.
You should know that your Bios must support boot with a Usb key, I don't know about your knees. Otherwise, you cannot do so. Hope it works

  • Satellite C660 - how to install Windows on the new drive?

I have an old C660 of 14 months (2 months warranty!) and the HARD drive died quite suddenly.

    * 3 days works great
    * 2 days, got stuck at the "starting Windows".
    * Tried to fix with a System Repair (DVD) boot disk, but could not solve the problem (ran all night)
    * Start of DVD today and now the prompt of commands, each command "dir" on c: takes 20 seconds and try to copy files gives IO error.

I'm going to buy a new HARD drive and install, but is there a way to get Windows 7 on the drive?
There is no Windows disk supplied with the notebook... THERE is a recovery partition, but it died too.

I don't want to buy a new copy of Windows when I already have a license.

(I never have a backup complete incl. system, like the one and the only time that I tried to do that it was unable to complete the process, killing of many Virgin DVD-R in the process).
I have most of my personal files backed up.

    Thank you

The situation is quite clear. You don t have created the recovery disk and you have only two options now:
    (1) you can order the original Toshiba Recovery disk and install the original recovery image
    (2) you can get the original installation disc from Microsoft and install own OS

In the first case, check it please http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB0202TA0000R01.htm

If you take the decision to use option 2 Please note that your product key is useless and you have to pay for the new activation of license and the code. The sticker product key Microsoft belongs to the recovery image only.

If you have any other questions you are welcome.
