Satellite P35-S609: DVD burner Mat * one disappeared UJ-820 s

I bought a P35-S609 end 2004. The DVD burner was dead on arrival. I brought back to the seller, and they exchanged the laptop.

The dvd burner worked for the first two years and then he started to disappear and reappear, leaving events in the journal system such as pasted below. A few months ago, he has disappeared and I have not seen since. Help!

Hello

Everything looks like a hardware malfunction.
But what exactly do you mean by disappear? The drive is not listed in the my computer zone, or he can simply read and write media?

However, after 2 years of work it s not unusual that the player will start malfunctioning I guess that the lens of the drive can read and write the CD or the DVD.
So I agree with Marina4000 and it s time for a new

    Hello

I agree with San Remo, but the fact is that the firmware also may be responsible for a miracle. Strange thing is that one of my friends noticed that after new firmware the drive was not fast but very sensitive on different media (different producers).
It will also be interesting to know what model of laptop you have.

  • Satellite P35-S609 - new HDD not accepted

    Hello

I am trying to install Windows XP (toshiba recovery CD) on a new hard drive Samsung HM160HC (160GB) on a Satellite P35-S609 but once the CD format the HD and copy all the files on the hard drive (to start installing XP) laptop does not boot from the hard drive, someone has an idea?

Obviously, the drive has no flaws, perhaps the bios V1.4 takes not more than 100 GB HD or I don't know if this is the limitation of Windows XP, the thing is he isn't still trying to start the start of HD - anyone have any idea?

    my email:

    Hey Buddy,

Your new HARD drive is recognized in the BIOS?
You can install Windows on another drive?

Satellite P35 has old IDE interface and generally it s limited to 128GB HDD (> 120 GB). If the HARD disk is not recognized you use a 120 GB HARD drive only.

  • S good for Satellite 1400-253 DVD burner need

Could someone give me the part number for the Toshiba dvd writer/burner
or offer any compatible dvd burner to fit one

Computer portable satellite 1400-253 s (ide connection)

    Thank you

Satellite 1400 is old model of laptop and it comes with several different optical disk drives, but none of them was DVD burner. Currently, these discs were not available.
Due to this fact, you will not be able to find info on compatibility.

If you need the list of compatible readers let us know but none of them is DVD burner.

  • Satellite M50 CD/DVD burning problems

I recently puirchased a Satellite M50 with the CD/DVD Multi-lecteur. Toshiba literature indicates that it can write both write - once and several CD and DVD - writing.

While I can burn on CD - RW and DVD - RW (DVD + RW) I can't burn discs CD - R or DVD-R (or DVD + R). The error message is something in the sense of ' does not support the driver (or reader) write once discs.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Hello

Well, it's not easy to say why you can t burn on some media. Maybe it s a malfunction of the media?
Have you tried to burn CDs or DVDs from different manufacturers?
I use TDK media and I m very happy. I found an interesting article on the CD/DVD burning.

  • I can build in the Satellite Pro 4600 DVD burner?

    Hiya

Can anyone help with this? Has anyone equipped with a DVD burner (dvd - rw drive Toshiba sd-r6252)?
Which models are compatible? I'm good fight opening and Exchange.
    Compatibility just in fact know.
    Thank you

    Hello

I put t found any information if this drive is compatible with the Satellite Pro 4600, but you should be careful to replace the drive.
You should check the dimensions of the car. Very important is the drive (master, slave, csel) settings because it is not possible to change this settings as on the usual desktop drive.
I'm not sure about the settings on the Satellite Pro 4600 but the ASP Toshiba should know that.
You can also order the caught player supported by the Toshiba service partner in your country.

  • Satellite P35-S609 - boot possible from the SD card?

    Hello.

I did some autour research to see if it is possible to start a P35-S609 laptop computer and the SD card. Obviously, I have not found anything useful yet...
I'm just boot Damn Small Linux from a 1 GB SD card. I started with success from a USB key, but they are so slow on this laptop... so I'll try a SD card instead.

I've updated my worm 1.40 BIOS to see if there was no support for this, but nothing helped.

Anyone know if it is even possible to start an SD card on this laptop? Or am I wasting my time?

    See you soon.

    Rob.

    Hello

I never heard that it is possible to boot from an SD card so I doubt that. The BIOS doesn't support and an update of the BIOS will not add this feature.

Sorry, but if you want to boot from a Linux system, you must use the USB, CD/DVD disc or HARD drive.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite A200 PSAF6A - DVD burning issue, pixel dead, overheating

    Hello

I bought a Toshiba A200 (model PSAF6A) of back in January, and it is riddled with problems since then:
-Can't burn DVD (not @ around 50%, any software is used)
-Several dead on the screen pixels
-Overheating when playing games (I bought an external cooling block)
-Now, all fans are dead inside the laptop! Overheating in the first 10 minutes of starting the laptop computer!

Now, for me, it seems that the motherboard may have started to die.

What I'd like to know is if it will be replaced with so many problems if I take service? (I reserved a pick-up for today)
Or they'll just to try to solve every problem?

-Can't burn DVD (not @ around 50%, any software is used)
... could be a defective DVD player. or could be bad upperfilters/lowerfilters. http://support.Microsoft.com/default.aspx?ID=314060

-Several dead on the screen pixels
... LCD display needs to be replaced if it meets Toshiba pixel policy.

-Overheating when playing games (I bought an external cooling block)
... Too much dust in the heat sink, must be blown to the compressed air, or dismantled so its really clogged. Dust accumulation is common in carpeted rooms.

-Now, all fans are dead inside the laptop! Overheating in the first 10 minutes of starting the laptop computer!
... If the fans don't turn up at all, there must be a lot of dust in there. The fans need to be replaced.

  • Satellite M55 - S139 DVD burn problem

I tried 9 times to burn a DVD.
I tried several software programs including InterVideo WinDVD came with the laptop, DVDFab Decrypter and those that I use most of the time, DVDShrink and ImgBurn.

The log of the software indicates success, but most of the DVD will not play back - even on my laptop. Most of them won't open even - it just keeps telling me to insert a disk in the drive.

Only once, I successfully burned a part of a DVD with InterVideo, and I could play on my external DVD player. But I was not able to duplicate my success (and only partially burned - perhaps InterVideo's just a demo). I tried to save as an ISO image and also just the files.

  • Satellite Pro A120: DVD/CD burner does not burn audio and video files

    Hello

I have the Satellite Pro A120 with a cd/dvd burner MAT * a uj-8415. It works very well with data Brüning, but...

When you try to burn the MP3 files or video files on DVD or CD/r or any type of audio file, it suddenly gives me an error message telling me that the cd can no longer be used.

I tried hole Sonic (RecordNow), through Nero 6, and also directly by dragging and dropping files, but all was in vain. This MATI * a uj-8415 machine has also made the same error while burning a DVD double layer.

Again, the unit reads all types of CD and DVD and writes also all types of files with the exception of the audio and video.

Can you help me please to solve this problem?

    Hello

I know that some mp3 files and audio are protected against copying and burning on different CDs or DVDs so could not work? ¦

Other reasons why you can't write these files to CD or DVD is simply a problem of compatibility between the STRANGE and the CD or DVD.
According to my experience, not all CD or DVD is supported, and these compatibility issues are not really rare.

    I also have another idea.
Have you heard of burning of problems caused by the bad registry entry? I mean the upper and lower filters...

    Please check this doc MS:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/270008/en-us

Completely remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters from the following registry key values:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

.. .and see if it helps.
