Satellite P500 - Touchpad functionality under Win7

Took me to upgrade to Windows 7 RC, when I got my new laptop and I discovered that my side-scroller has stopped working.
The touchpad itself works fine, but the side scrolling didn't and I can't find the device for the use of Device Manager, it lists just a PS/2 mouse, so I don't know what brand of touchpad that is or how to get the drivers for it.

Thanks for the help!

Hello Dabake

You use not released operating system.
Win7 is not officially on the market and didn t Toshiba Satellite P500 for start-up support.
I mean that you can be happy that most of the functions works well and properly until Toshiba starts Win7 support. This feature is so important to you?

Anyway, as Akuma wrote most of the drivers Vista works on Win7. Now, all you can do is install Vista touchpad driver designed for Satellite P300 and hope it works well.
I recommend you to use Synaptics driver version 10.1.7.

  • Satellite A200 touchpad function does not properly

    Hello

I spent a lot of time looking for the solution to my problem, but without effects.

My touchpad does not work correctly. I mean, I can move the arrow and click on the screen, it's ok. But all other functions (volume, mailbox and other "virtual buttons" don't work)-the so-called "hybrid".
I am connected to the USB port on the mouse.

If I disconnect it, there is no change - the touchpad works only in basic mode.
If I change the double mode in the settings of the touchpad to "always in Dual Mode when an external device is connected" - and all the virtual buttons work.
But what do I do to make the mode of double the work even if the mouse is not connected (so that the power button works)?

    Thanks for any help,
    M.

I m a bit confused now and I don t know what exactly you want
You're talking about the touchpad, mouse USB, bi, etc..

I put t know what you mean with dual mode and maybe you should give us more information about your operating system.
And that you use the touch pad or mouse USB?

Can you post a screenshot screen or something else?

I put t know if this solves your problem, but have you tried to update the driver for the touchpad? You can find it on the Toshiba site.

  • Satellite P500 PSPE8U: BSOD with Win7

    Hello

As Microsoft Windows C++ programmer I have access to the final retail version of Win7, the X 86 and the 64-bit versions of the Professinal build and version of Windows 7 Ultimate have show stopping BSOD errors and so far I had unsuccessfully in looking for it even if I think that I am closing top.

I am hoping that someone more familiar with Toshiba laptops might have seen this problem before and know the fix.

The fault that happens in x 86 & 64-bit, and upgraded or by pure install.
The system is unstable, crash, and or gel and or cause a BSOD with "sdbus.sys", noted as the cause.
The above is a driver installed by Windows and is a signed file MS, who seems to lead the SDHD slot.

If someone knows something about this anomaly he can answer it please.

    concerning
    NicW

a result of this. After much trial and error, I discovered if the SD material is disabled in the BSOD and restart Device Manager stops happening. This material is related to the MS sdbus.sys driver, so there is clearly a problem with the MS driver and the Toshiba laptop.

    Hello

Nice to read are do you like your new Satellite P500. My friend also bought new Satellite P500 and it is also very satisfied. It s a large notebook with fast and new hardware features. The design is fantastic, I must say.

Anyway, you can reinstall the eco and Toshiba Value added Package utility that controls these special functions. The two utilities that you can get on the Toshiba page:

    Good luck! :)

    Hello

The whole story is quite simple. Your laptop is shipped with the BT module and preinstalled Toshiba Bluetooth stack and Toshiba is responsible for the functionality of BT module with pre-installed software. It is tested and should work correctly.

On that moment when you've taken the decision to use a third party software developed by another company, they should help you with support.
You'll be really lucky if anyone here have the same model of laptop and use the same software but before you wait here I recommend you to check the BlueSoleil under http://www.bluesoleil.com/support/Default.aspx customer support

They have the best experience with own products and I think also that they tested the feature on different hardware platforms.

  • Satellite C660 - TouchPad freeze at startup

Hi I'm new and this is my first post so please be gentle!

I have a Satellite C660 with windows 7 purchased as a refurb factory it is my 1st laptop, I have a problem after startup, and everything loaded on my desktop, it seems that if I use my TouchPad too early it freezes, he did it since I bought it, but I thought it was me being not used to a touchpad and the "bloatware" to start is the only way I can get the pointer to move if I have a finger from the top to the bottom of line scrolling to the right of the TouchPad horizontally or diagonally, it moves very slowly until I can be open and close a browser window, the file or even the startup window, then it will then act as usual and do not freeze again for my entire session If I leave it for five minutes at the start, it works fine, sometimes it will freeze also out of standby or hibernation, but not always.

OK, I thought maybe it was the necessary driver update I checked in Device Manager and it said it was working properly but that of course is when the pointer is as it should be, in the Device Manager if I pilot of the touchpad/driver/update and internet search it tells me I have the drivers updated If I choose to search for a driver on my computer/let pick me from a list of device drivers that I have the following:-

    Mouse Compatible PS/2
    Synaptics PS/2 Port Compatible TouchPad
    Synaptics PS/2 Port Compatible TouchPad
    Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad

I should have all those showing? can someone with a file of similar specifications check that for me please?

strange thing is that if I go to TouchPad properties via the taskbar, and then click driver all options except the driver Details are grayed out and done, I can open two windows of TouchPad properties from the device and the task bar manager and have them on the screen at the same time.

Some things I should mention are a mouse in the usb works fine, I stopped a lot of the "bloatware" and would help the useless stuff running at startup, hoping that I have disabled the function of locking of the click on the TouchPad, sound as it needs to be "warmed up" to run correctly when running properly it works fine without problem as the laptop came pre installed and only Disc I have is the recovery one create you the initial Setup!
    Any help would be appreciated!

    Hello

First of all, I don t think that this problem is related to the installed touchpad driver but if you wish, you can install the latest touchpad driver available from the European driver Toshiba.

Visit the European driver Toshiba page and choose:
Computer laptop Satellite Satellite C series Satellite C660 driver Touchpad

Now you should get all the touchpad driver available for C660 series.
I found the driver for the touchpad Synaptics for Win7 32 bit and 64 bit.
The latest version seems to be v15.2.11.1

I think you should go to Panel of-> Software
Check here if Synaptics touchpad driver appear in the list of installed software.
    If so, uninstall the present.
Then, download and install the Synaptics v15.2.11.1 driver

The touchpad settings could be changed in Control Panel-> mouse-> tab advanced-> button Advanced.

  • Satellite P500 and eSATA slowdown system and start

    Hello
To connect an external drive eSATA system immediately slows to a crawl. A boot would take longer than 30 minutes (not waited so he can start windows) and the drive never shows up when it is plugged since within windows.

    I have a satellite P500 (PSPGSA - 01 G 003) with Win 7 x 64 and 2.9 (latest) BIOS.

I did a little reading in what the problem might be and have:

Most of the tips are for "esata disks must be connected before starting for them to be recognized", but then startup is so slow that I can not get into Windows.
Tried this IDE and back to AHCI in the BIOS.
Considered "looking for new hardware' in Win7 after having connected the drive/turn on.
Insured AHCI was enabled through the registry.
Disk management - check the player never appears.
Tried downgrading the chip set driver (later).

To disconnect the cable from the computer immediately accelerating upward.

EDIT: Just started in ein7 with the drive connected but it was not acknowledged.

    All thoughts are welcomed.

    Thank you.

    Hello

S far away I know that the eSATA port supports a hot swap function. This means that you can connect the eSATA drive to the laptop after windows system started.

Have you installed the latest Intel Management Engine Interface driver? (different chipset drive!)

Remember also that this driver AHCI in Windows 7 can be activated via the registry.
YPU may modify the following two values of subkey to 0:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-System \CurrentControlSet------Services------Msahci
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ FAT32\ CurrentControlSet-Services-IastorV

  • Installation of Windows 7 64 bit on a Satellite P500

I bought the above system in August last year with 32-bit Windows 7 installed. I understand that it is not possible to upgrade and to a complete new installation. Is it necessary to format the hard drive first? Have backed up all my data (there was not a lot), but wonder if there is something else I need to know before you continue. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hello

I m a bit confused because I have too many Satellite P500 and, as far as I know, this laptop model comes with 64-bit only.
Can you please tell us what P500 you exactly (P500-xxx)?

You are right; before installation Win7 HDD needs to be formatted. If you have installed the OS in the past, I guess you know how it works.
Associated with Toshiba here are two things you should know before starting with the installation of Win7 64 bit:
    # Create recovery with the original Toshiba image DVDs. This disk, you can use if you want to have the factory settings once again.
    # Drivers, tools and utilities must be installed in the proper installation order. If you ned some hep with it let us know.

I ran all the error detection of characteristics of pc, no hardware problems or software detected. So I installed malwarebytes anti-malware and ran a scan, it finds errors, but before I could act, the program froze again no response. Press ctrl alt del, black screen, no response... reboot. Now my dosent pc even trying to start windows, only error detection program and each restart goes like this, even after going through the program as it is said.
I tried to get to the other menus of repair, but it says I must be logged in to do this.

    Any ideas how to continue?

    Hi bug

Please reinstall the recovery image and boot OS without having to install additional stuff.
Do not connect to the internet and check the functionality. Open some pre-installed apps and see if they will not work correctly.

Play around with these factory settings and let us know if there is a problem.

  • Satellite P500 boot nor OS install

Hello & lead greetings to all friends of the Forum.

Please, could someone kindly look into this problem for me.

My laptop, a Toshiba Satellite P500 is defective. It will boot after post and as soon as it reaches the "Starting Windows" (WIN 7) logo splash, it freezes and it will stay like that for hours. I changed the hard drive, the memory modules, I tried to reinstall the operating system, I tried to boot with a Linux Live CD, Live USB and DVD USB, but all help drive does not. I changed the BIOS configuration, and then reset to default, again without success.

Don't you think it's a fault of MB, CPU or GPU?

And someone has a suggested method of remedy?
I thank you all in advance and will be happy to help anyone!

    Thanks again!

    Hello

You have already replaced the common areas like the HARD drive and memory.
It was my first idea of memory or the HARD drive may be affected, but if you are sure that the new parts are ok, then the problem might be related to the motherboard.

Usually if the CPU would be affected, then the POSITION could not be transmitted correctly.
So it seems that this motherboard you could go wrong function which means that the fix will be really expensive since the new motherboard is one of the expensive laptop parts

  • Satellite P500 turns off most since re install Windows7

    Hi all

    Toshiba satellite laptop
    series: P
    Model: P500
    Model number: PSPGSE
Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium edition

Following a final crash of the original hard disk, so I changed the drive and performed a complete re-installation of windows7 (an original touch and put my original).
Subsequently I have re installed the driver via the toshiba site (most importantly, so no software supplied automatically with PC purchase), and that all are present according to device (of interrogation or other point of warning) Manager.
More through the touslesdriver.com site, I added their scanning software small told the pilot to missing day or not (so basic but all seems normal...)

Windows of decanting finished and I started to update the drivers, windows out never normally, menu, start, stop, closing the session and after that bogus on "stoppage of work" until the "Blue Shield (about 10 minutes later, a solution or the button works / stop)."
Single point, drivers arrive to their windows or windows installation to restart, but the problem always comes back.

Then in normal mode, no messages or any other information that makes me say that there is a problem, but when close windows here is barattes in a vacuum no solution other than the button walk / stop (I also tried ms config: stop all, same effect).

Now in safe mode gives the change!

Beginning and end of windows that is no problem!

Still in safe mode, the device section driver, then display devices, 'plug and play' shocks only information is that an exclamation mark on 'Security processor loader driver' is not visible outside the safe mode.

No possibility of anything and much too much different information on the net which could help me solve this exclamation point and certainly my problem?

    Hello

I own P500 too, but I use it with the new HARD drive but with the original recovery image (Win7 64 bit) I've had with her. Why have problems such as you, when I can have perfectly installed OS. That do after the installation of recovery image's own upward and the optimization of the OS. I have delete all things I don't no need and turn off all unnecessary processes that can slow down my system.
I m really wondering why you do the same and use OS without a few installation issues.

In any case, after reading your ad I didn t understand what your problem is, but what I can say is follow:
Satellite P500 is fully supported for Win7 so you do not have some third-party software of the part for the detection of drivers and similar useless diagnosis. All the necessary drivers, tools and utilities, you can find and download from http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

On this virtual path, I can't tell what your problem and how to fix it. I know, it's that the whole available drivers on the Toshiba download page are tested and are part of the original image recovery.
I think either you should reinstall the OS using original recovery image and remove all the stuff, you need or reinstall Win7 clean and begins to install the drivers, tols and utilities Toshiba download page only.

    Order of installation:
    Windows 7
    Chipset SW installation utility
    Intel Management Engine Interface
    Display driver
    Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver
    TOSHIBA supervisor password utility

  • Satellite P500 & UBUNTU - extern VGA do not work

    Hello

I'm running ubuntu for 2011 with my Toshiba Satellite P500 (PSPGSE), it was working fine until a few weeks ago (I think that updated NVidia)

Right now, I'm not able to connect an external video source. I am a math teacher and this is very annoying for my work, because I connect my laptop to a projector. I tested with other VGA cables and other monitors, nothing...

I don't know what is happening now, nvidia control center does not detect an external video source to my P500 and sends no signal.

Anyone has the same problem and solve it?

Is there a tool to verify the integrity of external output?

    Could someone help me?
    I'm running UBUNTU 12.04.

    Kind regards.
    Rudolf

    Hi Rudolf

It can be tricky and requires manual work in order to find the cause of your problem.

    It can be:

    (1) related material. If so, you must repair your device. But don't take that as a first choice!

    2) caused by an update of the advantageous driver (driver from nVidia and not handled by the community)
In the event that the problem is caused by the pilot-owner, you may be able to restore the previous version to recover your functions required and cross your fingers that nvidia released a new driver that solves your problem.

    3) caused by a change again, which is the implementation of free software of the driver for the nVidia chips.
Problems with the kernel / new are more likely to be managed by the community.

As the drivers again as far as I understand, are released with updates to the kernel, you may have luck trying this:

When you start your PC, you can briefly see a sort of start with some choice menu.
Can be a list of kernels to boot from.

    Example:

    Ubuntu 12.04 - Kernel 3.2.0 - 122
    Ubuntu 12.04 - Kernel 3.2.0 - 104
    Ubuntu 12.04 - safe mode

and so on. Above are examples only because I don't know exactly how it may look in Ubuntu.

Please stop start pressing f.ex. upwards or downwards and select a core that is the precedent at latest.
In my example, it would be:

    Ubuntu 12.04 - Kernel 3.2.0 - 104

Press ENTER and watch the startup of the unit.
What place in the office, attach an external display device to the port you need and see if things work as expected.

If so, you probably need to file a bug on the Ubuntu bugzilla report.

    Let us know the result!

    Hello

May I ask if you have checked the system requirements for Civilization 4 first? Before you try to play a game, you should check the system requirments. Is the laptop fast enough and very important: the graphics card is compatible with this game?
    Check this box!

If you meet the system requirements make sure that the latest Toshiba display driver is installed. Don t use the driver from nVidia directly, it doesn t have a protection against overheating.

And you have installed the latest version of DirectX?
