Satellite P755-12F - Mhz RAM support

Hello

I want to upgrade the RAM on this laptop - Toshiba Satellite P755-12F.
I'm looking for 2 x 4 GB Corsair 1600 Mhz Kingston and 1866 Mhz.
Can anyone tell me for sure if the laptop supports 1866 Mhz or at least 1600 Mhz RAM?

Thanks in advance

If you want to upgrade RAM don't search for RAM Mhz support but to the compatible RAM modules.

According to Toshiba compatible modules are:
2 GB DDR3-1333-PA3918U-1M2G
4 GB DDR3-1333-PA3918U-1M4G

I have a laptop Toshiba SATELLITE P755-10N and now I want to add some ram memory, but I do not know which will be appropriate. In fact I have Samsun 2x2gb PC3-10700 (667 MHz).

    Help, please.

According to the specifications of the laptop you can upgrade your machine up to 8 GB.
4 GB compatible memory modules have the PA3918U-1M4G part number.

You can get two 4 GB modules and share original 2 GB RAM.

So the qustion is: can I put 800 mhz RAM in my laptop? My motherboard supports 800 mhz ram?

    Hi mate

The speed of RAM depends on the chipset FSB!
If the chipset would support 800 Mhz module RAM would you also with 800 Mhz.

But if the chipset does not support FSB 800 Mhz then you RAM modules would be locked at the speed that is supported by FSB

So you can use 800 Mhz but this makes no sense if the FSB is slower.

    You check the chipset properties!

The A100-PSAA9 (A100-847) supports the 667 MHz RAM? The FSB is 667 MHz, but the laptop comes with 533 MHz RAM and everywhere that I looked for upgrades of RAM I've seen 533 MHz for this model.

    Hello

It should be able to use the Ram 667 MHz module, but the difference between the 533 MHz and 667 MHz is not noticeable.
I think the 533 MHz module is great and you are on the good side, if you use the modules to recommend Toshiba.

  • Satellite A200 - 14 d: 533 MHZ front bus 667 mhz RAM equipped?

    Hello!

I have the following problem! I bought the Satellite A200 - 14 d and on the packaging and in the shop was written with 1 GB DDR2 667 mhz RAM.
When it came time for the upgrade, I put Everest and CPU - Z to find out exactly what to buy.

I was amazed when I saw that my FSB 533 MHZ. The strangest thing is that RAM is really at 667 mhz, but what for?
Now I think that's not quite legal. When I bought this laptop, I thought that it is with 667 mhz and I never doubted because it is written on the box that this computer is with 667 mhz ram!

Please give me some advice what do I do?
    Advanced thanks!

    > was amazed when I saw that my FSB 533 MHZ. The strangest thing is that RAM is really up to 667 MHz, but what for?

Why is it strange to you.
This is nothing unusual. Is that you can also use 667 MHz modules! But they will run at 533 MHz due to the speed of the FSB. As I see it s clear to you.
Always it is that there are several A200 series and some of the Satellite A200 supports FSB 667 Mhz.
But it seems that all mobile A200 were equipped with RAM 667 MHz modules and they are certainly better than 533 Mhz modules.

  • Satellite L305D-S5869: do RAM quick to announced 800 MHz only 667

I don't know if anyone has come across, but I had a Satellite L305D - S5869 7-8 months, I bought it because it was a VERY rare laptop, at the time with 800 MHz DDR2. Well yesterday I bought a new Satellite, L305D-S5940, almost the same laptop, but I had for the same price so that I can sell my old one. It also announced ram 800 MHz in it. I even went to the counter after that I bought and asked if I could use a screwdriver to open it and check the ram, which was indeed pc6400.

Well, I came home and set up the laptop and the first thing I noticed was that the laptop was 2.1 GHz, not 2.16 GHz as advertised, not a huge deal, but was a little upset and yest I know the cpu speed goes up and down by its use, 2.10 GHz is the max he's going. So, I went ahead and CPUz RAM and not only discovered that it was a 2.10 GHz cpu, but the ram was also running ONLY at 667 MHz.

Now IM upset and decided that she was not worth keeping and that he would take back, but for the hell of it, I ran cpuz on my other laptop, and of course the ram only runs at 667 MHz in that one also! Even though I know that there are 800 MHz ram in it.

It is nothing but false advertising of Toshiba, has anyone noticed cela or complained to toshiba on their outright lying and false advertising?

    Hello

I agree with the s of Akuma and what he suggested.
The fact is that the speed of the RAM may be limited by the chipset.
Even you use fast RAM modules, these modules will not work with the best performance if the chipset does not support that speed.

The same may happen if both modules would be supports of different speeds. If you want to use a 667 Mhz module, a module made of 800 Mhz, then the two would go only to 667 Mhz.

These are the two reasons why the fastest modules would be much slower

  • Re: Satellite Pro L300D - 11O 800 MHz RAM installed, only to 667 MHz

I recently bought a Satellite Pro L300D-11O, which has a single stick of 1 GB 800 MHz RAM installed. However this RAM work only at 667 MHz. I checked this in Linux and Windows Vista.

The laptop is announced as to have 800 MHz RAM on this page:

    http://UK.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/JSP/SUPPORTSECTION/discontinuedProductPage.do?service=UK&BV_UseBVCook ie = Yes & PRODUCT_ID = 1055796

The manual of the user who wrote:

"PC2-6400 memory module works as PC2-5300 speed the GL40 Express Chipset Express chipset/GL965"

I don't know what chipset I have, and it would be surprised that this would be the case that the above Web site explicitly states RAM 800 MHz.

    Can someone tell me please?

    Hello!

Now I'm a bit confused of Mr. I think you did search in the wrong user's manual because the Satellite L300D has no Intel chipset.
On the Toshiba site, you can download the manual for Satellite L300D:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online downloads support & -online download user manual

I think that your chipset only supports 667 MHz. normally the RAM always works on the highest speed that is supported by the chipset.
Check the specifications with Everest or PC Wizard 2008.

    Good bye

  • Satellite L30-134: is it possible to determine the frequency of 533 MHz RAM?

    Hello!

I have Satellite L30-134 and used a module of 1 GB / 667 MHz (sic!) for a while. Same Toshiba says maximum speed 533 MHz memory he recognizes module PC-5300 and sets exactly to 667 MHz.

I decided to increase the RAM and bought another PC-5300 1 GB stick.
... RAM is only 1 GB with two modules together. The two sticks are OK - L30 sees 1 GB and works well with each of them separately.

I know that the reason is that Toshiba couldn't work with greater speed on the two banks (or something like that).

So. It seems to be a good idea to set the frequency of 533 MHz and it should work.
The only question is to know how to do it? BIOS Setup is almost empty and does not have these settings.

One advise, please (except to buy sticks more :)

    Hello

Laptop Satellite L30-134 is a processor 1.5 GHz of Intel-Celeron-M (Yonah).
    Is this good?

This processor supports a 533 Mhz bus and if you use modules of 533 Mhz RAM then will automatically solve this value!
Simply put, you do not need to change anything manually! Everything is controlled automatically.

  • EliteBook 8440p; DM1-3020us: 2x4gb 1600 MHz DDR3L works in Pavilion DM1 but not Elitebook 8440p? But both are supported than 1066 MHz RAM

I have two Elitebook 8440p PCs that both run an Intel i5 520 m (although one of them has a discreet Nvidia NVS 3100 m, while the other does not and use the integrated graphics card Intel).

I also have a Pavilion DM1-3020us with an AMD E-350 APU; It's the only other PC I own which takes SO-DIMM DDR3 modules.

I just bought this Crucial DDR3L 1600 MHz 2x4gb hoping to use it with the 8440p without the graphics from Nvidia:

    http://www.BestBuy.com/site/crucial-2-Pack-4GB-1-6GHz-PC3-12800-DDR3L-so-DIMM-Unbuffered-non-ECC-lap...

However, it causes crashes and BSOD as soon as he tried to start under Win7 64 bit on both 8440 p PCs.  Also when trying to boot Linux Mint 18 I empty a kernel panic, and run Memtest86 + just leads to restarting the PC within seconds.  Yet, I can navigate through the BIOS throughout the day and it will continue to work very well...

But here's where it gets really weird - the RAM works perfectly fine in my laptop DM1 Memtest86 + and Win7 64 bit (I use it as I type this).  What's curious?  Because both the AMD E-350 and the Intel i5 520 m only support up to 1066 MHz RAM!

The only thing I can think is that there is something wacky where RAM is unable to operate at 1066 MHz at 1.5V or is not able to run at 1.5V to all E-350 1.35v support (and 1.5V RAM so that the i5 520 m only supports 1.5V) which itself would be really strange that Micron (which actually manufactured the RAM) States on their website that their 1.35v and 1.5V RAM have actually the same die (a bit like mobile i7s quad vs quad I5S Office) and that both can operate at 1, 5V, implying therefore that the 1.35v product is simply a higher binning:

    https://www.micron.com/~/Media/documents/products/technical-note/DRAM/tn4114_ddr3_1_35v_1_5v_compat...

Crucial live chat support, however, closed several hours for the day, so I thought I would at least make this post in the meantime.

    Hello:

Please see this thread, and the discussion that I posted in this thread... and you'll have your answer.

6550 b has the same chipset as the 8440p.  I posted the link to the site from NewEgg for the memory, you need to buy if you live in the USA/Canada in the discussion that I've referenced to the other person who had the 8440p.

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-hardware-and-upgrade-questions/RAM-memory-modules-that-actually-work-for-HP-EliteBook-8440p/m-p/5570634#M335108

There are several discussions on this issue if you want to find even more.  Everything is solved by specific G.Skill memory I posted.

The extent of why it works in the dm1 and not the 8440p, the chipsets are different.  The Intel chipset in the 8440p doesn't support voltage DDR3L.  Comparison of AMD and Intel chipsets are like comparing apples and oranges.

I also believe that the chipset amd in the dm1 is more recent than the chipset in the 8440p and promotes low-voltage memory.

I have just return from memory and use the gift card on something else.

I doubt that Best Buy has this specific memory.

  • Can satellite A100-784 - I register at 667 MHz RAM?

    Hello

I would change my modules of memory in my A100 - 784 (PSAANE).
Can I apply 667 MHz RAM instead of the original (533 MHz)?

    Initially, I have 1 GB (512 + 512) DDR2 533 MHz. I put in 2 GB (1 GB + 1 GB) DDR2 667 MHz.

    Can I do it?

Thank you very much for your answer in advance!

    Hello

    You can do it.
The point is that the speed of the RAM depends on the bus (FSB) front.
If the FSB supports only 533 Mhz then your modules would go only to 533 Mhz even if the modules support 667 Mhz.

If you n t know how fast is supported by the FSB then install a tool of free diagnosis, for example; Everest home edition and check out the unique values.

    See you soon

I was talking with a representative of the sales on the speed of the RAM, and she told me that it is only of 1333 mhz.

In General although he will not use the RAM at 1600 Mhz, you can install it, but it cannot make the laptop all run faster.

  • Satellite L50D-B-12W - max supported RAM

    Hi all
I would like to know the max ram supported this model. He rides a chipset series A6 A6-6310 and the max ram supported should be 16 GB, but is it true? I found no clear information on what chipset, as well as articles in any ecommerce site?

Googling autour, I also found information that your machine can be improved up to 16 GB.
Upgrade, you can use follow RAM modules:
    4 GB DDR3L-1600-PA5104U-1M4G
    8 GB DDR3L-1600-PA5104U-1M8G

  • Is it possible to use 667 MHz Ram for Satellite A100-233?

I want to improve my laptop with an another 512 MB of Ram and I called several dealers here in Egypt & I can't find 553 MHz ram!
So can I use 667 MHz instead of 553 MHz one?
If not, can you advice me where I can buy it online?

If you buy 667 MHz DDR2 SO-DIMM for your laptop, even though the memory will not work at the maximum speed of (667 MHz) it should work at 533 MHz

memory modules are not designed to run only at their maximum speed; they could also work at a lower speed; usually at low speed they will also benefit from lower latencies (which is a good thing!)

If you want to buy memory online, then you could try to http://www.orcalogic.co.uk/asp/prodtype.asp?prodtype=25123&ft=m&st=3

  • Re: Editing on Satellite P500-12F .mts files

Hi, I have a question about the change. MTS files:

    My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite P500-12F / Core 2 Duo P8700 2.53GHz / RAM: 4 GB HD: 500 GB / BD - RE DL / 18.4 "/ Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit /"

And I use Corel video studio pro X 3 to edit my SD videos and I was very happy with it until I tried to use the software to edit HD videos very short 2-4 minutes long that I got from a friend to test it before buying my HD camcorder.

These videos are played on the laptop without problem using WMP or video studio pro x 3 in the preview window, the problem starts when I add another track of overlay to make modifications or any title or effects on the overlay track as I used to do with SD videos.

If I do any sort of editing and try to see the changes in the preview window, the image moves very slowly, vibrates and the sound is broken, it seems that I'm editing a 24 hours of work not 2-4 minutes. clips.

So I do not understand where is the lie of the problem, what is the spec of the laptop? What codecs do I need to install? Or the settings that I need to do?

bye the way, if I decide to save the changes I made for the video it is so annoying to check during the preview/editing process, the final file plays great without problems and in HD quality.

I wonder if someone can help me.

    Hello, Armelle

Please don't get me wrong, but I do not understand the relationship between issue described and Toshiba laptop.
Don't you think that it is the related issue of Toshiba or you should speak with the support of software manufacturer?

This application can be installed on your laptop as part of the recovery image, but I don't think that Toshiba is responsible if you have a problem with a software feature.
