Satellite P875 - 32G - Media failurei

Hello
Since a few days, I have a problem with my Toshiba laptop. On startup, I get the message "checking media [failure]. The laptop has an SSD with the operating system (Win 8 - Bitlocker encrypted) on this subject. I connected the SSD drive to another computer to make a SMART - check. Result says that everything works well, but this system cannot initialize disk (not automatically, not by the storage management).

So I tried to format the drive manually with a tool. But this does not (error).

When I try to reinstall the OS on the laptop (starting with an original Windows 8 Pro CD), I get the error, that it is not possible to install Windows on this drive (0 x 80300002).

Y at - it an option that I forgot to check, or is it possible that the SSD is malfunctioning (failure)?

You have created a recovery media?
Did you notice the same problem when you try to install the original recovery image?

  • Satellite P875-31Z - cannot remove McAfee Security Center

Hey there, I have a little problem, and so far, I have not been able to solve.

I was helping a friend who is not as tech savvy like buying me a laptop, and he bought the Satellite P875-31Z.

Now, it comes with preloaded software McAfee.
I was able to uninstall most of the unwanted Mcafee software, but McAfee Security Center won't go away.

It appears in the windows 8 'remove program' - list, it does not appear in the list of app store windows, and even the McAfee Consumer Product Removal Tool (Development) get rid of it. Well, she at least got rid of photo tile, now it's just a blank tile.

It is part of some software from Toshiba and I have to remove some software that is also crucial for the proper functioning of, say, the function keys?

Push me a little crazy, first time, that I could not get rid of software ^^

I m wondering really you have this problem. On my laptop Win8 Satellite preinstalled under programs and features, there are two outcomes for McAffe:

McAffe anti-theft and McAffe internet Security. I imagine that the same has to be on this P875 too.
What needs to be done is the removal of McAffe Internet security. After restarting the laptop remove anti-theft McAffe and uninstall McAffe Security advisor, placed on the desktop (right click). All that s.

    I did the same thing.

I have 8 Windows pre-installed, but guess that's the Standard edition and ask whether it is possible to upgrade to Windows 8 pro.

Someone has had experience of this updgade?

How can I find out which version of the Windows 8 operating system is installed?
What product of Microsort should I upgrade.
Can I buy a new Windows 8 Pro OEM license?
Where to buy an upgrade of my existing (from Toshiba?) operating system

Is an upgrade to widows 8 recommended Pro?

    Hello

According to the info I found on the page of Toshiba, the laptop is preinstalled with common system of 64-bit Windows 8.

If you want to upgrade this Windows 8 Pro version, you can buy the upgrade of Microsoft.

But the question is if these updates would be really necessary for you...
I dunno... This page and take a look at the details provided by Microsoft Windows 8 Pro

You can see what are the benefits of the windows 8 Pro version would provide.
Usually there is no big difference between Windows 8 and the Pro version.

  • Satellite P875 - 32L - is unable to reconnect to the last connected WIFI access point

I have a problem to reconnect to the last connected WLAN provider, with my Satellite P875 32 L.
WLAN is switched on and shows all the neighbors access points, but it fails to whoever I logged before the reboot, or before you go to the rescue of the list.

I'm going in service options for WLAN, sometiimes up to 5 times, then it undermines meet usually.
    It's well annoying.

I have had this with the other 30 satellite of P870 too, but something so this behavior have disappeared. So there must be a solution.

    Hello

You're talking about your private Wlan at home?
If you had the same problem using another laptop too, it could be possible that this isn't a problem with the network s laptop wireless card or Wlan configuration but with the WLan router.

You should definitely reset/reboot the rooter.
In addition, check the settings of the IP router and or mac address filtering.
Change also the type of encryption and Wlan channel.

You have to try different combination turn off just to test the WiFi encryption and check if the laptop would connect to the Wlan open correctly.
But the Wlan encryption must always be defined in order to avoid improper use of the Wlan access point.

  • Satellite P875 - need to press the FN button to use the function keys?

    Hello

I have a W7 Satellite P875 running and something weird just started to happen.

My F1 - F12 keys and reverse obtained special functions.
I used to need only press the buttons for special functions and now I need to press "Fn" otherwise I get the regular F1 - F12 options.

I checked the system at startup and then setting it always says the special functions are those by default, but this isn't the case. I tried switching between the keys F1 to F12 and special functions as value by default, but little matter I do only the keys F1 to F12 are the default ones.

Any solution or any driver I have to re - install to make it back to normal?

I must say at the same time, I started having problems with my iTunes library with conflicts, I think with my AVG Antivirus. Suffice to say where there is a known conflict between AVG and the system that could influence that. I was also messing around aound with msconfig to try to sort that conflict but I returned to the way it was then it should not be the cause.

    Hello

This is controlled in the BIOS as well as it can be changed in the settings of ToshibaHW.

Also, go into the BIOS press F2 at the beginning.
Now choose Advaced and here you will see the point of the System Configuration.
Go ahead and finally you will see the option called:

    * Function Mode button (without pressing the FN key) *.

  • Satellite P875-102 - sound freezes when the CPU is busy

    Hi guys,.

I just bought a Satellite P875-102 with Windows Home Premium and all software by default, and card and I have a very annoying problem with the sound. Whenever the processor takes a little more time to process information (i.e. a website load) sound freezes for a second and then comes back.

It happens with all my music software and regardless of local or streaming music. Is there a way can I fix? It gets really, really boring and it is a laptop which should do much better than the one with multimedia...

Any help would be welcome. Thank you!

    Hello

When I read something like that I would like to have mobile phone in front of me and see exactly what is happening. New portable computers are preinstalled with Toshiba recovery image and they contain about additional software running in the background.

Windows Update set to automatic when you buy new laptop and connect it to the internet, I think first of all days notebooks are very busy with the update of various facilities and all this happens in the background.

Updates collection pre-installed antivirus, scan disk and all these activities slow down s for laptop performance. Result can be these thresholds when you listen to music or watch movies.

What to do with the new notebook is the optimization of the OS. With other words, I dsable Autostart for many applications that I n t need, remove preinstalled antivirus and install Avira antivir, disable updating automatic Windows and, at least, remove some stuff preinstalled system.

After this start is much more fast and portable ready for use. I can't say for sure, but I think you should do the same thing and check if this problem occurs again and again.

  • Is satellite P875-L32 - possible to add a second HDD?

    I have a Toshiba Satellite P875 - 32L (PSPLFE-0C700RGR) which has 2 HDD / a MSATA SSD slot I would use now.

My question is if they are enabled, or can be activated in some way to add storage capacity or an SSD for example a Crucial M4 MSATA SSD 256 GB. I asked the hotline and they didn t know. I wrote to the Austrian support and they didn t write again now I m really worried.

I bought the Satellite as a model for my audio class. I chose for its storage capacity and will send it back if the slots are disabled, but I won´t think I mean after all Toshibas slogan runs innovation... and a slot for the disabled is exactly the opposite of innovation.

I n t have this model of laptop, but every model can be improved with second HDD/SSD if square and the port are available.
On the lower part there is only a single large enough coverage. When you remove it, you should see RAM and HARD drive. If it is necessary to drive HARD vacuum with SATA connector you can put there second HARD drive.

You shouldn't be worried about anything whatsoever. Some models are extensible and others not.

  • How to use card NVIDIA on the Satellite P875-321?

    Hello

I have a Satellite P875-321 with operating system factory upgraded to Windows 8.1, all the latest drivers installed.
Whatever I do, it seems built in graphics card is used only (Intel HD 4000) and the Nvidia GT640M is never used.

    I check this:
    1. with the NVIDIA Control Panel (PhysX configuration shows that all screens are connected to the Intel HD 4000
    2. in resolution 8.1 windows settings / special settings lead me to the Intel HD 4000 properties, which indicates that this card is active

    What I tried:
1 leaving everything default and use the external power supply (hoping that the computer automatically switch to NVIDIA when the external power
    2. use control panel NVIDIA and NVIDIA 3D as favorite graphics card settings

How can I force my laptop to use a NVIDIA graphics card?

    Thank you
    Janos

    Hello

The Intel graphics chip, which is part of the central unit should be used for low performance applications, because it allows you to save energy and reduce the internal temperature.

But to get best performance all in game, it s advisable to use the external GPU (nVidia or AMD)
This setting can be changed in the nVidia control panel s

Here, you should choose manage them 3D settings (can be found on the left in the nVidia control panel)

Now in the main window, you will find two global settings and program parameters tabs
In the program settings tab, select the (game) program that needs to use the nVIdia GPU

If it is not listed, click the Add button
Then choose the graphic processor preferred for this program (generally must be nVidia processor high performance)

Last but no less, in this program-specific settings, you can assign additional features to improve performance.

    Hello

I ve checked Toshiba download page on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp and your model of laptop (PSPLFE) is supported for Win7 64-bit, so you can find all the drivers, tools and utilities for your machine.

  • Satellite P305-S8832 - media buttons do not work with Win7

    Hello friends, wise

I recently installed two new hard drives (500 GB 7200 RPM OS / 500 GB 5400 RPM DATA) and I did a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit on my 3 1/2 Toshiba Satellite P305-S8832. Everything except the media buttons works well enough.

I downloaded the drivers from the Toshiba repository, including the installer of the Software for Windows 7 Toshiba and package valued Toshiba. These touch buttons above the keyboard and between the speakers still doesn't work, no light, no response, nothing. I checked the bios.

These buttons work out of the box with Ubuntu Linux, Windows XP and Windows Vista.

    Any advice?

    Hello

In General, the multimedia keys are controlled by VAP (value added package) and the buttons should work after the installation of VAP.

    Found the drivers here:
    [Satellite P305-S8832 drivers: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=2059997& rpn = PSPC0U & modelFilter = P305-S8832 & SelCategorie = 2756709 & selFamily = # 1073768663]

It seems that there is also a newer version of VAP.
Check other new series Sat P in order to get the latest version of VAP.
Also install the hardware installation. This tool allows you to customize your hardware parameters

OK, so I just got this laptop Sunday.
There the media control buttons, but they do not work.
I read a few posts about this, saying that I need to download the driver control...
Well, I spent hours last night looking for him. :\
Anyone got the direct link to it?

    Hallo Kitsune

Try reinstalling the value-added package. You can download it from the Toshiba support page. If you have laptop model please visit http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_modSel.jsp

    Hallo Glead

S manuals are described that this button is not for 2 functions, but only for one. For the MUTE to turn the lights. I have too many Satellite A300 and this button is how to turn off the LEDs only.
Take a look at this symbol, and you will see that it is not pregnant but symbol of light.

Compare with symbol on the ESC key and you will see that this is not the same.

  • Satellite M45: Smart Media Card Reader SD does not

    Hello

I have a Satellite M45, computer laptop, and for some reason any SD Smart Media system does not work. The Bay is attached to the laptop, it is not an external drive. I insert the chip SD, 1 GB or 512 mb not load disc, it, or show no signs of him being even in the computer.

However, I see a blue light next to the Bay that happens when I plug a disk in it. But it reads nothing for some reason any. I tried already (repeatedly) to re - install the drivers, and then restart the computer, but nothing happens I get the same bad thing.

  • Satellite P100-240: Media Center Edition - error 3

I recently installed the Toshiba TV DVB, set up all channels and guides, then recorded a number of television programs.
Unfortunately, when I have pulled up my Satellite P100-240 this morning to check the last recordings of nights, the Media Center told me that I had deleted all of my recordings.

I tried to get the library going again without success.
All I get is a window telling me that there may be essential audio and video files missing and he said that I should quote "error 3" when looking for support. ".
I tried reinstalling the drivers, etc., but it just goes back to "error 3' anyone able to help?"

It is a very strange question. To be honest I really don t know what happened with you Windows Media Center software.
It s a program from Microsoft and my personal experience, sometimes inexplicable things

What you could do is trying to roll back the BONE to this early time!
Eventually a point system restore has been created and you can set the operating system on this point.

I also recommend to check your recorded programs.
Usually programs stored is located in the following folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\ all TempSBE TV
Maybe you could save these files.
