Satellite Pro 6100 has no Wlan

Installed xp on a Satellite Pro 6100 and it has no wireless network adapter in the Device Manager to all, and it does not appear in "Found new hardware" or whatever it is.
I downloaded the drivers, but I can't put anywhere.

Remember that the wireless card is an option on this laptop.
This means that some Pro 6100 was delivered with the WLan card and some does not support the minPCI wireless network card!

If the WLan card is not listed in the Manager of devices (or as unknown under network adapters device) then the laptop was not equipped of the WLan card and so you cannot use the WLan.

  • Satellite Pro 6100 - Question on WLAN adapt and mac address

I bought a second hand of Satellite Pro 6100. It has a WiFi adapter. It is where and how do I know the macadress of the adapter?

    Thank you.

    Hello

If you are sure that this laptop was equipped with the Wlan card, and then the MAC address can be easily discovered 100%.
You must start the console with the command: * CMD *.

    Then use the command: * ipconfig/all *.
This would list all the details on the WLan/LAN cards installed in the laptop.
The physical address means MAC address ;)

    This should help!

  • Need a plan of construction or images of Satellite Pro 6100 for BT / WLAN position

    Hello

I need a 6100 construction plan or some pictures of the location of the device Bluetooth and WLAN.
This parts are modifiable or not?
Because I have bad RTC 6100 with WLAN and Bluetooth and another who works without this two devices so I want to build this parts in the workbook, but I don't know where they are or if it is possible to do.

    Thank you

Here is the plan for the two, BT and Wireless Lan for the Toshiba 6100
    http://Weller.WS/Toshiba/antenna.html

The BT card slot is accessible from the bottom of the laptop. (just a screw to lose)... you will see the pink BT antenna wire there, too.

Internal MiniPCI wifi requires that you remove the keyboard first (two screws covered by plastic on the top of the F1... F12 keys) then open a plastic cover that hides the Mini-PCI card (the location is where would be the "F6" key). It requires a force to remove this plastic cover ;)

    Concerning

P.S. All additional cards (BT and WiFi) are sensitive parts of static electricity. If you plan to trade on your own, take the necessary precautions. If you are not familiar with this, please consult your nearest Toshiba service.

  • Satellite Pro 6100 Power failure

    Hello

My satellite Pro 6100 has a power failure. While that work with the laptop will turn off by itself and the orange led on the left side.

Is there a codelist of the blinking´s meanings.
    What can be the problem?

    Thank you
    Peter

    Hello

The left led is an indicator of DC IN. Normally it turns green when the AC adapter DC voltage. If the s output voltage adapter is abnormal or if power outages, this indicator flashes orange. In this case I think that it s a hardware failure and you should contact Toshiba service partner assistance. However information on the LEDs and on your device, you can find in the manual of this device.

    Good bye

  • New on Satellite Pro 6100 WLAN card installed, but can not be activated

Hi, just replaced the internal Wireless LAN card on my laptop Satellite Pro 6100. Map of yesterday and today have the same problem: I can't turn them on. They are installed properly and supposed to run in what concerns the XP drivers, but does not detect wireless network andy saying it is "disabled".

I tried upgrading to the latest version of BIOS
    I reinstalled the latest drivers
Toshiba network device switch sees only the Intel Pro/100 VE wired, network card, but not the card the Intel Pro/Wireless 2200BG.
Direct activation of the Wireles does not produce a said connection disable, enable, trying to connect, but it fails, as if he did not see the network.

Past and present, wireless card fail to see any network.

    Martin

    Hello Martin

This model of laptop is quite old and at that time 2200 card was not on the market. I can imagine that there is a compatibility issue.

I think for older models of laptops, the best solution is the use of a faster but external solution in the form of PCMCIA or USB WLAN card. With the help of these cards you will not have compatibility issues.
What do you think of this?

  • No WLAN on Satellite Pro 6100 light

    Hello
I have a Satellite Pro 6100. But there is no Wlan light, if I turn on the wlan switch. I did a Bios Update to 1.9, but wifi does not work.
Is it possible that the on-off wlan switch is damaged, or what could be the problem?

    Hello

Did you check if the wireless card is already preinstalled on you laptop.
Have you ever used this option?

I agree with you... it of not impossible that the WLan switch on the side of the laptop is broken.

The switch allows you to activate on the motherboard and allows the WLan antenna.
If there is a hardware malfunction for example a loose contact outside help is necessary. In this case, the ASP must check the unit

  • Satellite Pro 6100 - Wireless Lan cannot be activated.

All afternoon - I have just my hands on a Satellite Pro 6100 and am impressed to bits with it.
The only thing that is bothering me is put on the wireless LAN doesn't work. Here is what I tried:

    (1) use the switch on the left side of the laptop - push back for "wireless WE"-no led or an indicator.
    (2) use the FN and F8 for the shortcut - key no joy.
    (3) install all the drivers available.

It is to have no chance at all. I currently have Windows XP SP2 on board and have lost count of the restarts. I looked at the page update SP2 and found a registry setting, but that does not change. I'm pretty sure that there is a wireless card installed - I found the antenna, but I would appreciate some advice please if anyone has experience this, or is somewhat an expert at this.

Thanks in advance to you all,.

    Select this option.

It worked before or since when did that happen?
You could take a look at the Device Manager if the wlan device is entered correctly without no exclamation point.
Correctly installed all the drivers and updated? Maybe a BIOS update can help.

Of course, the laptop was equipped with wlan? Not all 6100 built in wlan.

  • How to access the Satellite Pro 6100 wireless network card?

I'm cleaning a Satellite Pro 6100 for a customer and noticed that it has built in wireless card (something they didn't know). However, I just can't work out how to access. I pushed the little switch on the side backwardsa and I rocked forward, Fn + F8 and everything else I can think. But nothing happens.

I even found the Switch Device Network utility, but that is only to show the LAN card.

    Any ideas?

First of all please check if Device Manager in the laptop has an integrated WiFi card. The switch WLan available on the website of the laptop does not. Laptops are delivered with different specifications, and the WLan card is optional.

I think that the WLan card is not installed in your laptop and so you cannot use it.

  • Satellite Pro 6100 - battery acting very strange.

As mentioned in the title, my laptop battery is very strange.

    The symptoms are:

When the battery is flat after only 7-10 minutes he turns not, however if the battery is removed and placed in the laptop, the laptop will start as it has never happened.
Not only that, but the bonus after the first can indefinitely until this that loaded into an OS and immediately after starting start the laptop stops due to an apparent lack of power, when there is power always, enough to do the same thing again. Also, the battery can still start even after being just in a freezer.

This reacondioned back to normal battery or is this safe to use battery?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

I guess that your battery is old like machines of this Satellite Pro 6100 and maybe it can't be charged more. In this case, your battery should be replaced.

But even if the battery is faulty, you should be able to use the device connected to the power adapter.
So even if the battery is removed, you could power the unit with the mains.

  • Signal not detected on Satellite Pro 6100 wireless

I have two laptops Satellite Pro 6100, two of them are configured to automatically connect to our local wireless router which they both started.
A computer is used by myself by my wife; bookmarks, email accounts and so on are different on every computer/hard drive.

I have problems with one of the computers (mine) - the usual problem with multispindle connectors on the video boards and feeding, then I tried to use "his" computer with 'ma' machine's hard drive.

His machine does not recognize our LAN with my hard drive installed. He came up with a new network found, but not a wireless network. Also, with this machine and my hard drive installed, can't the machine to search for wireless LANs, the icon does not appear. The switch is turned on for wireless signals and it works very well with his hard drive in it. The network is protected, and the two machines have the same id in them for connection which work fine in the original engine.

I don't really understand this condition. Something in the bios? Something on my hard drive that is not recognized by the computer? the wrong phase of the Moon?
Suggestions how to trouble shoot and fix this?

Both machines are XP Pro on them, latest updates.

    Hello

Also AFAIK, Satellite Pro 6100 was equipped with different Wlan cards so if use different HDD with different driver then the Wlan card could not be detected by Windows XP.

Check if the wireless adapter is listed in the Device Manager and recognized correctly.

  • Recovery CD/DVD for Satellite Pro 6100 products?

    Hello

I bought a Satellite Pro 6100 (model number: PS610E-029ZV-BE) second hand and have experienced a non-recoverable accident.

I need to reinstall it, but as you can guess, I don't have the recovery CD/DVDs. Someone out there has them and could send/ftp a copy?

I tried with an official windows CD XP Pro, but the key which is on the small sticker on the laptop is not accepted...

Thanks in advance for your help
    Bruno Mamer

    Hi Bruno.

I recommend you get a new set of CD recovery of an authorized Service Agent. They are not too expensive, I recall.

    Kind regards

  • Install the new hard drive on Satellite Pro 6100

    Hello

I have the Satellite Pro 6100 and the hard drive has failed. Bought a new hard drive but have no idea where to begin to install it. Also, I have the product key for windows xp pro, but don't have a disc. Is there a way to get around get one, or someone has any ideas please?

    Thank you

    Michelle

Hmmmm... It's very strange that you n t have idea how to start. Throughout history, there are only two options:
-for the installation of an operating system you can use the original Toshiba Recovery disk that came with this laptop. If you n t have it then
-use the Microsoft installation for the installation of the OS disc. All the drivers, tools and utilities must be installed Additionally one by one. Each of them you can find on Toshiba download page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads

Please note: the product key at the bottom belongs to original recovery image so you probably won't be able to use it for the activation of the operating system.

  • 2 GB card SD not recognized in Satellite Pro 6100

    Hello

I got a new 2 GB SD card passenger high speed. When I insert into the slot of my Satellite Pro 6100 SD card, I see in the list of the Explorer, the new drive, but when I click it, it says: "Please insert card".

The card works fine in my Pocket PC.

What can I do? What is the size limit of card for the SD-Card-Reader inbuild?

    Any help is appreciated!
    Thank you!

At the point where Satellite Pro has been offered, there was no 2 GB SD card and card reader has been tested with available maps only. If you're lucky, 1 GB card can be readable.

I think you this card works fine in the other device. There is absolutely no problem with the card itself but old material or even driver for the card reader.

Maybe in the next few days, someone will point out what card can be used with SP 6100.

  • A Satellite Pro 6100 graphics card does not work correctly

    Hello!

I have a Satellite Pro 6100 (PS610E - 02c 60-GR) 1.7 Ghz, 256 MB, 40 GB, 15XT and a Geforce4 420 Go (32 MB) graphic card. Until yesterday it was working properly. Now, there are colors on the screen and there was a blue screen a few times, which says something about my graphics card (it disappeared from fast read).
I uninstalled the old driver and reinstalled twice. Nothing has changed. Also I tried with an external monitor, but there wasn't any change, too.

    Now my questions:
    1. is it possible to change the graphics card (in particular, can I do it alone without a technician)?
    2. How can I do this, is there some tutorials, especially for my laptop?
    3. an another Geforce4, but for example a Geforce4 440 Go with 64 MB of RAM would fit in my notebook?

I thank very you much in advance!
    Lukas

    Hi Lukas

The led flashes as it provides a microcode error!
This is especially if the malfunction of hardware has been detected.
I presume that the replacement of the graphics card is the reason!

As in previous discussions suggested the replacement of the graphics card is NOT possible. You don't believe!
Looks like that the BIOS cannot handle this new graphics chip.

  • Satellite Pro 6100 - after updating the BIOS, it does not

    Hello

I am trying to upgrade my old of Satellite Pro 6100.

I started to upgrade the Bios via download from Toshiba (using WIN) site - OK downloaded zip files and installed, machine then stops. Problem, it does not restart - it's so now I have a laptop 'death' that is not responding to any key I tried.

    Any suggestions of resuscitation?

Already I've updated from XP to SP2.

    Thank you

    Paul

    Hello

It sounds like that the BIOS update has failed and your laptop can start t again. But try this workaround:
Remove the AC adapter and the battery and then wait an hour. After that reconnect the adapter AC/DC and battery. Try to start the laptop.

If it doesn t work I think that the motherboard needs to be replaced or you go to an authorized service provider. Technicians can reflash the ROM module
But maybe you can find a motherboard of second hand cheap on eBay

    Good bye
