Satellite Pro A10 battery replacement?

Hi all

I get the message "Critical autonomy" on my laptop for a while now. Now, I want to replace the battery because I killed the other: (.) However I've not done this before. How can I change the battery? Y at - it web sites you know that illustrates the process. Any help is appreciated. Thank you

Hello

In my opinion in this case, it of not necessary to replace the battery.
I guess you have worked only with battery and this message appears if the battery is empty and if the battery charge is necessary.
In this case, you must connect the power adapter and charge the battery.

PS: you can also try to change the alarm level of the battery at the lower level.

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro A10. I used it for a few years on AC power only. I tried to use it on battery, but I don't have that about 5 minutes before switching to standby mode. She descends slowly from 100 percent to about 96 percent then powers. When I plug directly support I have only 3% of the power.

I thought if I totaled the battery, so I bought a new, but the same thing happens.

Do you think that my new battery is duff too?
I am running the latest version of the bios (1.30).

  • Satellite Pro A10: battery question

    Hello

Is it true that SAT10 Pro can be recharged 24/7 even though the battery is fully charged. My manager insists to keep me on the sector all the day becuause there lithium-ion battery. Wouldn't this overload the lattery and decrease the life / the effectiveness of it.

Thanks in advance for any response

    Hi Isabelle,.

The normal recommendation is to remove the battery when the laptop is connected to AC power. However, the modern cell phones (and batteries) use electronic sophisticated enough to optimize the performance of reloading and if generally there's been little or no harm if the battery is left in place while the captain is connected.

My own SA30 is almost always running on AC power with a battery installed, and after 2 years as this battery will always lead the laptop for up to 2 hours what I do regularly just to discharge/recharge it.

As long as the battery is discharged periodically, then he should suffer no harm.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite Pro A10: battery discharged very quickly

I had the laptop for about 2 years and it has been very good. But in recent weeks the battery (when not on power) discharge VERY quickly (in a minute or two) as soon as any disk activity takes place. I guess it must be the battery, but I noticed recently that even after being in power for several hours while I had used widely, he showed he was still that 90% of charge.

I am aware that recharge the battery too frequently can cause the battery be reduced significantly but I made a point to let him unload frequently to try to avoid this.

    This one any sense?

    Thank you
    PEB

    Hello

The fact is that you can charge and discharge the battery about 500 times. After this period, only the battery loses performance and you need to replace.
The battery is covering 1 year warranty.
Increased time battery life it s recommended to remove the battery if the power adapter is plugged.

In your case, I think the battery is dead, and if you want to use the laptop with the battery you need to replace.

  • Replacement battery for Satellite Pro A10

    Hello
I'm trying to find a replacement battery for Satellite Pro A10, PA3284U-1BRS, 10.8 v original battery, 3600 MAH. A couple of merchants said that it is no longer available and has been replaced by PA3285U-1BRS, the amperage is a little higher at 4400 MAH, but declared voltage is now 11.1 VOLTS. Is this normal, or are they trying to just me to pawn off the coast with something that is really not compatible with the specifications of the original part. I can't find the part for the moment available on the Toshiba site, seems to have been the only way to get a true replacement who would be sure to adapt. Battery wizards there know what would actually?

    Thank you.

    Hello

As far as I know, that you can also use this battery.
Battery (Li - ion, 6 cell, 4400mAh) part number: PA3285U-2BRS

  • Satellite Pro A10: RTC battery is low or CMOS chesksum unstable

    I have a Satellite Pro A10.

When I turn everything first laptop computer on I get RTC battery is low or CMOS checksum is unstable - press F1 to set date/time. When I press F1, I get a beep and it's everything that happens. I'm unable to had to set up or do anything at all with the installation program.

I kept it plugged in for 24 hours, but still the same results. I replaced the CMOS battery with a new. But even once, I get the exact same results.

All that happens when I press F1 and a sound signal. Is this a sign that I have probably a problem with the motherboard?

You can access the BIOS and could try to set the default settings, and then save the settings and start again.
If it doesn't, then it must be another reason for this message.

My first thought was that this error pops up because the BIOS battery is empty.
Usually such charge as described in your ad should help get rid of this message.
But it seems that there is a more serious problem

I m not quite sure what this could be, but the hypothesis that a motherboard could malfunction is not wrong.
I think that a fault of mobo might this causes too.

But in my opinion a mobile technician must check to make sure what's wrong.

  • How to recalibrate battery on Satellite Pro A10?

The battery that came with my laptop has begun behaving oddly a couple of months (it's almost two years, Satellite Pro A10). She arrive at about 50% and then immediately fall to about 2 percent. After setting up with this for a few months, I finally bit the bullet and bought a new battery (charge not trivial, I might add). The new battery behaves exactly the same way. Someone has any advice on how to recalibrate battery PC Toshiba laptop, or verify that the problem is with the system and not the battery itself?

    Hi Richard,

Check in options power management Toshiba you have the right setting for your type of battery. In my opinion, there are different settings for long battery duration, high power batteries, etc..

If the problem persists, then I recommend re-installing the power management utility to make sure that it is not at fault, and if the problem persists, then there may be a problem with the power system of your laptop, in which case you will need to return to an authorized Service Agent Toshiba.

    Good luck

  • On Satellite Pro A10 HARD drive replacement

    Hi all

Ive currently got my moms Satellite Pro A10 sitting in front of me. Wouldn't load XP at all so I downloaded Knoppix and ran the liveCD on the laptop. After some tests, it seems that the HARD drive has failed.

    The vehicle currently has a 30GB HDD (MK3021GAS HDD2182 B ZE01 T) with a rated output DC + 5V 0. 7A.

Told me that any HARD drive would work so I ordered a replacement of 100 GB of Fuji, except its a little too long to drive HARD case and it seems to be the cause of my power light flashes orange. Rated power on it is + 5V 0.55 a.

Im stuck, what do I do?

    Hello

    > told me that any HARD drive would work as well
It is not quite correct! There are material limitations.

I discovered that the phone supports 20 GB; 30 GB; 40 GB and possibly a 60 GB HARD drive.
I m not 100% sure of more HARD drive sizes due to the limitation of the BIOS.
You should know that not all HARD drive sizes are recognized by the BIOS.

Further, you should take a look at the supported interface.
The laptop supports an Enhanced IDE (ATA-5) interface and that's why you should buy a HARD drive that require this kind of hardware specification.

  • Satellite Pro A10 - no answer - enter HDD #0 error

Pro warranty A10, student daughter portable computer reports no longer works, already suspended and finally no response from any other lights at the entrance to DC charger is connected.

Now, new Board of Directors recognizes the input DC and recharged the battery OK. Tried to turn on the laptop but terrible mistake INPUT #0. Concluded that the HARD drive had also been damaged. New (Toshiba box) arrived two days later but gave the same error when mounted. BIOS won't recognize HARD at all. Tried all the messages on the verification of the connections and certainly not of mounted riders. Laptop will continue to start from a system CD, as it may then think the new me Board is OK

Are the HARD drive of the Satellite Pro A10 different from those on the A10 satellite earlier?
Any other ideas on this INPUT #0 error?
    Thank you

    Hello

As much as I know there is no different hard disks and your use of the same laptop as most other Toshiba laptops. I can just write that this error is certainly resulting HARD disk problem. The HARD drive is obviously not identified by BIOS correctly.

Sorry but I have no more info on this subject. By the way: is the motherboard new or used one?

  • Satellite Pro A10 - need information about upgrading RAM

    Dear members of Ant
Regarding the above machine: Please can someone advise:-how many slots memory has.
I think it's two but do not know.
Also size maximum memory can this module we have in this laptop please.
If it's 2 @ 1 GB per module, then we would have a total of 2 GB.

Is the standard hard drive on this computer, a hard drive of the laptop. Can I get out the small 20 GB one and replace it with a larger. for example 120 GB etc.

Thank you very much for your help.
    Ian

Satellite Pro A10 two memory locations are available. Laptop computer can manage with 1 GB of RAM and you can use two compatible PC2100 512 MB (PA3164U - 1 M 51) modules.

This old machine uses 2.5 HDD with old IDE connector. I found some info that it has been bundled with 20GB, 30GB and 40GB HDD. I think you can improve it with up to 100 GB HARD drive but just to be sure he has the same connector on the HARD drive.

If you have any other questions you are welcome.
For more information after the exact model number please.

    Hi John,.

Unfortunately, it seems that if your HARD drive has crashed. The message of your BIOS is normally what you see if the PC cannot detect any bootable devices. Usually, it is a bootable HARD drive.

Assuming you have the Toshiba Recovery CD you could try to restore your existing system to your HDD (it will automatically reformat the hard disk first), but you might find although it will simply fail restore due to the failure of the drive.

Your next option is to replace the HARD drive. You can do it yourself very easily, or you may prefer to take the laptop to a Service Agent for them to do. Note that you still need to rebuild your system from the recovery CD according to your choice.

Given that your device has a 20 GB HARD drive standard you could take this opportunity to install a larger capacity drive.

  • Satellite Pro A10 won't boot up - where to get the disks

I have a Satellite Pro A10 that currently does not start up Windows (XP) as it says

Tools & Utilities CD that came with my laptop has unfortunately been scratched and will not start.
I have two system recovery disks, which are very good.

    My questions:

    1. is it possible to buy a replacement Tools & Utilities CD-Rom?
    2. If Yes, where to go?
    3. is there a way to restore my laptop without having to reinstall everything completely and lose all my files?

    With regard to the point;

    (a) generally, it should be possible to order the CD of tools & utilities but I ask why?
    (b) you can buy the CD of the ASP in your country
    (c) the older recovery CD is supported by an expert mode. You can use this mode to choose the partition where the OS is to be installed. In this case only, this partition will be formatted.

But look, man. You do not need to order the CD tools & utilities because on this CD, you will only find the Toshiba drivers can be downloaded from the Toshiba page too.

  • Satellite Pro A10 display and DVD issues

I have a Satellite Pro A10 about 2 1/2 years and have never had a problem with him, but the other day when I tried to watch a DVD, look at a program (InterActual Player) opened as usual and then a few more seconds later the display will change in very low resolution (something like 14 colors, almost a negative and all image was massive Although I don't remember the actual numbers) and he said that I had to reboot in order to return things to normal. I tried the same DVD in Windows Media Player, as well as to try other DVDs and initially that the DVD would play in Media Player but not Interactual but now the same thing happens any DVD or player that I use.

Also, I went on the computer this morning and got a message saying that the battery is low (although it was because I had not plugged the computer again, nothing to do with the last errors) and the computer is in standby. I plugged in the computer and you press the power button to wake the screen is very dark but visibly pixelated (I think that's the word, he had visible points, as if someone were holding a magnifying glass up to her) and got very slowly brighter until there has been a series of narrow bright stripes, like a giant pixel or a tv test screen.
This could be a problem with the display drivers (even though I tried to update and we found since I always see a message 'Cannot find the requested string' by the icon for display in the control panel), the screen itself, or something else entirely?

Sorry it's so long, but I thought it is best to include all the details in case it has been important. I hope someone can help!

    Hello Nicola

As you know on this path is not easy to say what may be the problem. In my opinion, it is important to see what is happening exactly. I assume that your problem is not caused by the display driver. Try to properly test and notice where the screen is very dark.

If this problem is repeated again and again that I recommend you backup your data and reinstall the unit with recovery media. On this path of unity will be factory configured and you can see if the problem still occurs. If so, it may be just caused by a malfunction of the equipment.

    Good luck!
