Satellite Pro A10 fails to start - IDE #0 ERROR

On startup, I get the Toshiba start screen and there is a regular click from the HARD drive. After 20 to 30 seconds, I get:

ERROR IDE #0

then a pause, followed by the following codes of boot agent (Intel FE v4.1.09)

PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable of
PXE - M0F: Exit Intel Boot Agent
Insert system disk in drive.

I have the unpleasant feeling that the HARD disk is dead. I can replace it if necessary, but is it possible to extract the files from it before going so far?

That is a clear symptom of a HARD disk failure.
The + IDE #0 + error means that the BIOS didn't recognize the HARD drive (due to a hardware fault probably) and cannot start from the HARD disk.

Then he pushes in the alternative startup > LAN
The + PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable + error because the laptop can not boot from LAN.

I think that you just have to replace the HARD drive and then you need to reinstall new OS.

This will help for sure.

    Hello

Well, it could be a hardware malfunction of HARD drive. Yes, it is possible. But I don t think that there is a bad connection. You used this HARD over the last two years and you n t change the settings of connections on this HARD drive. Is this good?
If it possible s so I suggest you of to completely format the HARD drive.
Then try to start the recovery procedure.

However if the HARD drive has a functioning default (ie. crushing of the head), so the only way is to replace this device.

    Hello

As much as I know there is no different hard disks and your use of the same laptop as most other Toshiba laptops. I can just write that this error is certainly resulting HARD disk problem. The HARD drive is obviously not identified by BIOS correctly.

Sorry but I have no more info on this subject. By the way: is the motherboard new or used one?

    Hi guys,.

    Need for emergency assistance.
Computer laptop Satellite Pro A200 tension regarding the Toshiba password logon, then the cursor freezes the upper left corner, it won't get into F8 configurations.
This unit is 3 months old Satellite Pro A200 XP Pro.

Used cell phone Sunday noon and set a system restore before installing a few applications. I can get to the Bios.
I also used the disc of recovery as a last resort. I'm on vacation a week today and if all goes well with the laptop.

    deejaydee

You said you used the recovery CD? Well, I guess that you were not able to boot from them. Or I m wrong?

Usually, you should try to boot from the CD bootable recovery CD, Win XP/Vista CD or CD of Linux. This could allows to check if a hardware problem exists.

If you want to boot from the CD, I would recommend pressing the C key immediately after starting the laptop. This should allow booting from the CD/DVD drive.
However, you can also try the F12 key. This allows the Boot Manager where you could choose the STRANGE.

    Good bye

    Hello

The first step that I can recommend is to remove the battery for a short period and try to restart the device. It will be interesting to know if there is a possibility to enter the BIOS settings (use the ESC key at startup).

    Hello

What is the BIOS? BIOS recognizes the installed CD/DVD drive?
Generally, the CD/DVD drive is connected to the #1 IDE controller. If the drive cannot be recognized by the BIOS the #1 ide error.

Maybe it s not a serious fault and just a touch loose?  :|
Try to remove the CD/DVD from the laptop drive and start the laptop without WEIRD. Then stop, reinsert the STRANGE and access the BIOS to see if the STRANGE has been recognized correctly!

    HI Tom,

The error message that you receive indicate that your laptop is trying to start the connection to the LAN rather than from his own hard drive or a CD-ROM. I suggest that you verify that the boot sequence is specified correctly in your BIOS, or alternatively, you can press F12 during your market and you should get the boot device menu sequence appears so that you can specify that you want to boot from your hard drive.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite Pro A10 - IDE 1 # error at startup to the top

HI, I have a Satellite pro A10 and everything is working very well in recent years to date.
A few days ago I started having a cd read error / invalid dvd disc format still drives fine on all the other PCs work.

Today as I get #1 error on boot up IDE... the laptop is always standard when I got off the shelf. thinking the drive might be dead due to wear I replaced the drive with a drive to work and I still get the same error. I removed the completely STRANGE and yet to come.

I also updated the usb floppy bios that has been a success. and the best part of all this. the dvd - rom supplied with the laptop works fine in my other a10 tosh!

Someone at - it ideas. I really need to replace the motherboard if I can help it. This is the only problem with the laptop.

    THX in advance people.

    Hello James

IDE 1 # error is typical when ODD is not accepted by the system. The reason may be defective drive or the use of non-compliant readers. The fact is that each player can not be used with all portable models because of the allocation of the different pins.

In your case, it is really strange that the work by car on other A10 but not on this one. Because of this, I presume that there may be a problem with connectors. I'm afraid there is not much to do. You can try to check out them and see if they are clean and not oxidized.

Sorry, but we cannot speculate what may be the problem but, as you know, only intensive test may give you more answers.

Good luck and let us know if you will find what is the problem of resources.

  • SD-C2612 IDE #1 error after wrong firmware update - Satellite Pro A10

    Hello
I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A10, which was flashed with wrong firmware (I don't know which because I don't).

I tried flashing with the right firmware (1315) but get the message to the Primary Master and Slave as "Not ATAPI Device" and "drive not connected".

NB: at the start, even with the deleted DVD ROM, I always get the #1 error IDE.

Update the bios to the latest version would help or is there all the options open for me to solve this problem other than to have recourse to the connection of pin 47 & 45? Would it even solves?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

    Best regards
    Angus

    > I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A10, which was flashed with wrong firmware (I don't know which because I don't).

Lol :D I have don t wonder you get the IDE #1 error message.
As you say yourself, you have flashed the drive with the wrong firmware. This has damaged the master/slave/c-salt settings of readers and so the BIOS doesn't recognize the CD/DVD drive. But I wonder why someone flashing the drive with a bad firmware?  :| We still know that a wrong firmware can damage the CD/DVD drive... and above all it is not necessary to update the firmware.

    > Update the bios to the latest version would help
The BISO update will not help you because you have already good BIOS and it s NOT a problem of BIOS, but the evil and not compatible firmware is stored.

    > or are there options open for me to solve this problem other than to have recourse to the connection of pin 47 & 45? Would it even solves?
I'm don't know if this helps, but I know that it is not desirable because it may damage the material of CD/DVD players

I recommend you contact the ASP in your country guys might revive the CD/DVD drive. Let's hope

  • Can not start my Satellite Pro A10

I have a Toshiba laptop Satellite Pro A10. When he tries to start windows, it comes up with the "We apologize for the inconvenience, but windows did not start successfully" etc. I tried all the options for example

    Start:
    Safe mode
    Safe mode with networking
    Safe mode with command prompt
    Last known good configuration
    etc.

None of the options works. All I get is a flow of information about drivers and it then hangs. The last driver in the list is:

    multi (0) disk (0) partition (1) \WINDOWS\System32\Drive rs\Mup.sys

    I can't clear the checkpoint.

Unfortunately, I can't find the disc that came with the laptop, so I'm well and truly stuck.

    Any suggestions?

    See you soon

    HI Leon,

It is quite normal that there is a list of drivers displayed when you try to boot into 'safe' mode However, if initialization fails, obviously there is a problem with your operating system and your only options are to try to fix the problem by using the recovery console (you will need to boot from a CD of original Microsoft installation), or you can restore the original Toshiba CD recovery full operating system.
A third possibility would be to start with a utility such as Norton Ghost or Acronis image backup/restore and restore a backup previously taken by an external device.

The simplest option is to restore from a backup that is already taken, but if you don't then you would be better restore from the recovery CD Toshiba you can get at any Toshiba authorized Service partner.

  • IDE #1 error on Satellite Pro A10

Hi, my laptop Satellite Pro A10 displays IDE #1 error whenever I try to put it on. This message is all I get, even if it is shown for a short period of time - the laptop always comes back to this message, it tries to load blanbk of the screen just go and then this message appears every time! I was wondering if someone could explain what this means and how can I solve this problem?

    Thank you

    David

    Hello David

This error occurs if there is a problem with the CD/DVD drive. For example, this error occurs if you try to use the incompatible reader. It will be interesting to see what happens if the drive is removed.

    You did any player upgrade?

  • Satellite Pro A10 stops on specific opportunities

    Hello!

I am owner of a satellite Pro A10 (PSA15E). It's hard drive stop working, the pc could not find. So I bought a new, a samsung with 160 GB, IDE, of course.

Now when I was installing windows, in the part file copy, it just stopped. When I boot it says initialization file fails, then I guess it stops when it was to transfer this important part.

If I run the cd again, it does not format or reinstall/repair request, it loads only some files and try to start windows and then stops.

Now, this is where the tricky part comes in: the power led in turn, then again very fast when it stops. I do not use the battery (it is already dead too), and I use an universal AC, a give, 70W adapter. I tried formatting via a LiveCD Ubuntu, with no luck, because when I choose "Try Ubuntu" or "Install Ubuntu" it stops a little as he thought, and then when he is about to leave the menu and do something, it stops in place.

My only guess, is that this laptop doesn't want me more :(

I could really use some help, I just spent some 50 on a HARD drive for him and he is the only laptop that I have. I don't think that it is a question of temperature because it stops just at specific times, on some specific choices. If I just let it hang there in the menu (the Ubuntu live CD one) it is not closed. Only when I want him to go further.

Any help/response is greatly appreciated, and if I take a little too much time to respond is because I don't have access to internet at work now.

    Thank you very much
    Ricardo Rebelo

    Hello

Theoretically, this could be an overheating problem as Akuma wrote. Therefore, you must clean your laptop using a jet of compressed air. This could blow the dust from the cooling fans and can improve the cooling of the laptop.

In addition, it would be interesting to know what happens if you run Toshiba Recovery disk recovery facility this work?
