Satellite Pro A100 - 4 GB memory motherboard?

I have this model of Board of Directors: V000068460 there a docking port/blue graphics capabilities of the tooth/footprint/microphone/infra-red/external and pci-e connector for the wi - fi accepts cards pci-e dual use, but the system memory is limited to 3 GB because of the revision of the chipset.

So no one knows of a compatible Board that offers the same options (infra-red is optional) but has a later chipset revision so that the memory can use 4 GB or almost 4 GB of ram?

Hello

As far as I know the Toshiba Satellite Pro A100-196 PSAACE-001009AR supports 4 GB of RAM.

Google a little bit and found out that the Council V000068140 is compatible for Satellite Pro A100-196

Hope this helps

  • Satellite Pro A100 - 828 Max memory speed

    Hello

Can someone please tell me the max speed of memory for Satellite Pro A100-828, I'm wanting to move to the 4 GB maximum but is some sites say the maximum speed is 533 MHz while others say to 667 MHz. For example, the Toshiba site lists only memory 533 MHz under the "Compatible" Options yet other sites list 667 MHz memory as compatible.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello

You should check which bus (FSB) front would support.
Install the hardware diagnostic tool like Everest home edition, and you should be able to find this value.

If your chipset would support 667 Mhz then you can use these modules and the modules would go with 667 Mhz too.

  • Satellite Pro A100-830 with 4 GB of memory but the BIOS tells me that I have only 3 GB

I have a Satellite Pro A100-830 and I bought the maximum memory for what is 2x2gb, for a total of 4 GB in my world. When I put the DIMMs in themselves in a slot, the BIOS reports 2 GB. BIOS Bravo! When I put both together, I see only 3 GB in the bios!

I found this link on the Crucial site. http://www.crucial.com/kb/answer.asp?QID=4251

Suggest page files, peripherals etc. occupy memory on your system at startup, before the operating system is used I guess. If you do not have the maximum memory installed, you should see the total memory. If you got the maximum memory installed, you will not see the memory used by page etc. files. Why would it be? Why you would see 2 GB if you have only 2 GB but then see 3 GB if you have 4 GB due to the system!

Anyone can shed some light on this subject and be eligible or reject the information in this link. I need to replace the memory and/or the pc?

    Thank you

    Mark

This is not a BIOS problem but a Windows.
    I found this info:
Windows XP Professional 32-bit is limited to 4 GB of address space. If you have 4 GB of RAM installed, it won't show 4 GB in Windows. You will probably get what the size of your pagefile subtracted the 4 GB.

Some of this address space is reserved for the hardware and the operating system... so you will never have access to the 4 GB maximum in any case. If you want access to 4 GB of RAM +... your best solution is to pick up XP Pro 64 - bit... but this will only work if your CPU P4 has EMT64. (64-bit)
You can also try to turn on DEP if it is not already enabled... This will also allow EAP that can give you access to all 4 GB

    So finally a response:
    > Do I need to replace the memory and/or the pc
-> No, everything is ok... you need not to change the hardware

  • Satellite Pro A100-828 has an interface 64-bit on X 1600 GPU memory?

    Hello

Satellite Pro A100-828 has an interface 64-bit on X 1600 GPU memory? Please help I get only 2500 points on 3dMark05 on a Satellite Pro A100-828. The GPU is X 1600 with memory dedicated 128 MB + 384 MB Hypermemory. This card should be approximately 3500 brands.

    Thank you

    Shahid

I studied in the World Wide Web, and it seems that the X 1600 supports a 128-bit interface
    I not found any x 1600 with 64 bit so I think that it s a 128 bit

  • Satellite Pro A100-622 can not read the card SD and Memory Stick with Windows Explorer

I have a Satellite Pro A100-622 running MS Vista Home Basic Edition. I tried to use the card reader integrated with SD and Memory Stick card but cannot view the contents using Windows Explorer.

In both cases, the laptop recognizes the card and try to install new hardware. Unable to do so, he asks the drive of the software provided with the cards. Any software not provided with a card and I cannot find drivers to make the drive work.

The only application that I can find on the laptop that is associated with the player is a module of SD formatting, but I don't want to format the card (s) I want to just read the current content of them and add files.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

You can download the drivers (and especially in your case for the sd-card-reader) here:

    http://PC-support.Toshiba-Europe.com/Vista/

    and here

    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp

So the other point is the service of the SD card must be enabled in the start menu-> Control Panel (change to Classic view)-> Administration-> Services-> Chip card (at this point, you must activate the service and configure it to start at windows startup).

If you have any other questions, just ask. ;)

  • Where to find bars of memory 2 GB for Satellite Pro A100

According to the Toshiba site, the A100 has 2 memory slots for up to 2 GB per slot, but I can only find 1 GB max cards. Anyone know where I can find 2 GB cards?

With the card, you mean the memory modules?

You Satellite Pro A100 must be a unit of PSAACE-xxxx series because AFAIK other A100 Pro supports only 2 GB of memory.

In any case, someone posted a useful link to the site to upgrade memory. I found this:
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=26257&ft=m&St=3

I chose the ProA100-828 because I put t know what exactly your unit.
However, there is a 2 GB module shown.

By the way: 200 pin DDR2-533 SODIMM modules are compatible!

  • Satellite Pro A100-080 does not start - stays dark after 3 beeps

    Hello
After a week off, the Toshiba Satellite Pro A100-080 (PSAASE-00G004GR, 4 GB RAM) of my kids start not anymore.
When turn on/off the system, he * will beep 3 times * (one long, two short beeps), the HDisk light flashes 'blue' and then nothing more. A/c and battery power LED are 'blue', which seem to be OK status.
No other useful help, as the screen remains dark.

We had upgraded to 4 GB MEM (Kingston) a year ago and I already tried the old used 1 GB (included with purchase) or the replacement of 2 x 1 GB since December 2007, but equal status with these modules. This is not
    a defect of memory.

I hope that this is not the motherboard, probably only the NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 graphics included adapter?
Does anyone have an idea what could be the problem?

    Thx for a short help.

    Hello

Generally this type of beep codes are hardware related or with other words, hardware is defective. So I think it's a hardware problem and an ASP must check your laptop computer to identify the cause of this.

On the Toshiba site, you will find a list of aspic:

It was not much and it only seems to be on the top of the screen (as the laptop was closed)

However it was a bit on the keyboard and when I opened it it seemed to be a crackling sound from speakers?

Is it buggered or is there anything i can do to fix it?

    Any help would be apprciated.

    Hello

The laptop turns off and I was not in a position of power upward again.
Whenever LED books went ON and after a few seconds the laptop stop again.

I thought that the motherboard was dead, but I tried to replace the memory modules first and bingo!

  • Satellite Pro A100/P100 - compatibility touchpad

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A100 and I saw pictures and videos on the internet of people have these keyboards LCD that illuminate blue and have shortcuts but only touchpads I can find like that correspond to the P100 and ino models some of the parties each other as I was ve documented but I can t can't find if the touchpads do or not but I think that s what other people I saw someone do any ideas?

    Thank you to

    Hello

The two models of laptops are old enough, is not easy to find some useful information on this subject. I remember that some P100/A100 and A200/P200 / X 200 models were offered with these keyboards.

I m not a technician but I think these keyboards with keys have two cables must be connected to the motherboard and keys touchpad without buttons have a flat cable only.
(I also believe that models with and without this touchpad have different numbers) model numbers) so it is possible that they have different mothers.

What you need is a professional help with this. I mean, if possible, try to contact nearest Toshiba authorized maintainer and ask for help. They have access to the database of Toshiba and can check the specification for your laptop model but also data base for all hardware components of portable.

They may be able to help you with this.

  • Satellite Pro A100 support Micro SD card?

    Hello.

I have a Satellite Pro A100 (model PSAAPE - OOTOOKEN).
It has a card on the front slot and the manual says "this slot allows you to easily transfer data from devices such as PDA and digital camera that uses flash memory (SD/MS/MS Pro/MMC/memory cards xD).

I want to buy a Micro SD (microSDHC) memory card for use with a tablet PC, I intend to buy.

My question is, if I insert the Micro SD (microSDHC) card in a SD adapter and insert it into the slot of laptops, laptop will accept for read/write operations?

I was wondering if I can get away with having one type of card for laptops and tablet, rather than a microSDHC for the tab and a SD card for the laptop.

    Thank you.

    Hello

The user manual provides information on the supported cards.

    Supported are:
8 MB to 2 GB SD card
MMC (multimedia) card 8 MB to 1 GB
8 MB to 256 MB card MS (memory stick)
MS (MemoryStick) Pro 256 MB to 2 GB
16 MB to 1 GB xD memory card

    > My question is, if I insert the Micro SD (microSDHC) card in a SD adapter and insert it into the slot of laptops, laptop will accept for read/write operations?

Since supports up to 2 GB card SD card reader, you should be able to use the microSDHC in relation to a SD card adapter.

  • Satellite Pro A100 - it does not recognize 4 GB of RAM

    Hello
today I purchased two 2 GB RAM Corsair DIMMS (DDR2 - 667 mhz) for my Satellite Pro A100.

After that I updated the BIOS it detected the 4 GB of RAM, but the balance of RAM on the boot prompt checks only 3 GB of RAM. So I can use only 3 GB of RAM (I use ubuntu 64 as an operating system). When I try to RAM into another laptop, it works perfectly. A memtest86 + says check: no error. When I plug in a dimm in the laptop, it is correctly detected as a 2 GB dimm module (tested two DIMMs into the two slots on motherboard)

Anyone else seen this behavior? For me, it looks like a limitation or a bug in the version of the BIOS.

    (The processor supports 64-bit (core2duo t5500))

    Hello

What Satellite Pro A100 you have exactly?
As far as I know that some models can only be upgraded to 2 GB of RAM.

It's really not easy to say what is the reason for this because I m confused on the subject of what the BIOS recognize the 4 GB of RAM, but not the boot prompt.
I'm not sure that maybe the modules are not compatible with your laptop. You can test other modules?

    Welcome them

  • Satellite Pro A100 is not recognized any amount of RAM

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro A100 and I just bought 1 GB of additional memory. There are two locations, each with a capacity of 1 GB.
When I put the new memory into the slot and the old 512 MB original memory in slot B and the computer says it is 1 GB.

I have them two-way round so that the 512 MB is has the 1 GB in B. Now the computer says that there is 512 MB.
Is there anything I can do to work B slot? I have the latest version of the BIOS update.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    > original 512K of Ram also works in A slot, but not in the housing B.
This looks like your slot B is defective, mate :(

I think that, in this case, you can't. You can swap the card mother but that s all.
