Satellite Pro A100 carpet * dvd uj - 841 s write at very slow speed
Hello.
The carpet * a dvd multi drive uj - 841 s that came with my satellite pro a100 written on very slow DVD. Firmware 1.50
I use good philips and kodak media (both rated 16 X).
now, I know that the drive is only rated at 8 X max. But I can't even reach 6 X.
A firmware update would solve this?
Thank you very much.
Hello
To my knowledge, some burning applications control the burning speed to obtain the best possible results from burning
As you probably n t know the speed of combustion higher risk of burn errors
I burn my DVD only using a single 1 x speed.
Then I can be sure that all DVD players would be able to play the burned DVD.

Satellite Pro A100: Mat * a UJ - 841 s DVD Multi drive does not
Hello
I have a Satellite Pro A100 with a carpet * a UJ - 841 s DVD Multi Drive.
Recently, I decided that as my laptop is running slowly I wanted to format and reinstall XP Pro, I used a standard version of OEM XP Pro (not seller specfic) and he went on the formatting and the reconstruction of my laptop.
Fortunately, I used Acronis True Image to backup my laptop before I did that my above mentioned dvd player is so more to bury properly (all the drivers and the necessary software has been installed). Before I formatted the laptop I could burn on + and - DVD (r, rw and ram) now that the laptop has been rebuilt, I can only burn to dvd-r/rw/ram.
I restored from my laptop to the picture created by Acronis and can use the drive normally again to burn + and - DVD.
Does anyone know why this would have stopped working in the new installation of Windows? I also tried to create a virtual machine using the same xp disc but it always gives me the problem of dvd player.
Thank you

Satellite Pro A100: CD/DVD player will not play the audio CD or video DVD
People,
I have a Satellite Pro A100, with a RUG * a DVD-RAM UJ - 841 S Drive.
It will read fine data disks, but refuses to play with the audio CD or video DVD.I tried to uninstall & Re-Installing DVD - RAM Driver;
That got rid of the "IO error" that I received, unfortunately I don't notice the full error: S.
He now just doesn't see the drive. Someone at - it ideas?I did a full windows update, and the Toshiba Diagnostic util tell me anything useful except "Fail" :(
I found a thread in this forum that describes a similar theme:
http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=19747&MessageID=72404Sometimes this error is displayed because the player does not support the environment.
Always it is every way is supported by readers and I think that in the user manual, you will find an index CDs or DVDs compatibleMaybe the drive is defective and can not calibrate lens in the right position.
But this laptop is not very old, and I can't imagine that the drive is defective
However, nothing is impossible. What you can do is to carefully clean the lens and see that it will help.

Satellite Pro A100 (PSAAC) DVD-RAM UJ - 841S cannot read audio CDs
Sat Pro (psaac) DVD-RAM UJ - 841S will not read or play the audio CD
Everything else works fine but put in any audio cd and nowt.
Help?Hello
As you know, each CD is compatible and supported by each optical drive.
Can I ask you this and audio CD don t work? These are original audio CD or burn one?
You should know that many new audio s CDs come with copy protections of different and sometimes it happens that these CD s are not readable. But we must first know if need all options are enable. To do this you must enter the properties of the drive and check if the option enable digital CD audio for this CD-ROM device has been activated successfully.

Satellite Pro A100 - CD/DVD drive is not listed in the Manager of peripherals and BIOS
Can Hi anyone tell me what is wrong with this laptop?
The problem is im using my DVD - ROM drive and it stops working. I went into Device Manager and it wasn't there and it was not in my list of drives. I went and checked the BIOS, it is not listed there either and the BIOS pick up all get them is check the cable or the conection.
Would be grateful if some knows what happened or if my hard drive is gone.
Thank you
Hello
If the CD/DVD drive is not listed in the Device Manager and BIOS, it seems to be defective and must be replaced.
What do you think about this? You can exchange the car yourself. Check for a compatible CD/DVD Player user manual or go to an authorized service provider. Technicians can order a new drive to swap.
Sorry, but if the drive is not listed in the BIOS seems to be defective.
Good bye

Carpet * a DVD-RAM UJ - 841S does not recognize movie DVD on Satellite Pro A100
I have a portable Satellite Pro A100-PSAAPE.
Initially the played DVD movies very well, but now it does not recognize DVD movie at all.
The drive itself is recognized and works very well with recovery DVD and CD-ROM.
Phone support: they had me reinstall the driver and boot from the recovery DVD. This does not solve the problem. They then said to do a system restore. Tried, but it seems that the previous restorations of system are in themselves unsuccessful and the restoration of the system that has worked has not solved the problem.
MediaPlayer and Intervideo WinDVD seem to work well, but do not find the DVD in the drive.
They advise now reinstall me to factory setting, but don't want to build the laptop up to scratch etc, so I'm hoping that there may always be a solution.
Can anyone help please?
Thank you
Best wishes
idob
Hello
You understand that you must specify if it is a hardware or software problem.
Unfortunately, you can find this secret only using recovery DVD (CD).
Toshiba recovery installation will define the laptop back to the factory settings. In this case you may find whether or not the CD/DVD device is defective. If the player will not play the DVD after the reinstallation of the operating system, then chances are that it is a CD/DVD drive error.
Good bye

Solution for DVD playback choppy on Satellite Pro A100
Hello!
I had this problem twice on my Toshiba laptop (Satellite Pro A100 bought in April 2006): the DVD used to play very well, but now (perhaps after an update of the driver or installation of software, I not sure what causes this) DVD playback is choppy, distorted sound. This occurs throughout all media players on Windows XP (for example, PowerDVD which came with the laptop) or Windows media player.
I searched the internet far from a solution and finally found how to solve this problem:
Go to Device Manager, select the "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" section, and then select the "second IDE channel", right click and 'uninstall '. (There are two second IDE channels, if you know which then just uninstall both.) Restart Windows XP, Windows XP will automatically reinstall the drivers without the need to download anything. Subsequently the DVD Player reads normally.
The symptoms of the problem, apart from DVD playback choppy, are the "transfer mode" gets stuck on PIO for a reason, and bring back to DMA with no opportunity to spend. I have no idea what software or driver causes this, or why, but if this is your problem too, if you think that this solves.
Cool, thanks for the inquiry and the nice information.
Could be useful to others here in the forum.
Nice to have these community users :) -

> During a game for half an hour, the screen darkens and a second view later, I get a blue screen.
Well, my first thought is that this problem is related to the graphics driver.
I mean it could be a software problem.
But I know that a BSOD can also occur if the graphics card chip began to malfunction.
In your case I m not sure what could cause this problem. But to play a game, that the GPU is running with a maximum yield and produce a lot of heat. If the temperature rises to a higher level the GPU can also cause a BSOD.Anyway, first of all, you must check if the graphics card driver update could solve this problem.
Maybe you could use a driver from other websites but please note that this is ONLY possible at your peril! -
Error in device IO on the Satellite Pro A100
I need your help
I do Win Xp update and PRECAUTIONS Paltalk after that my DVD/CD is broken
Error message I get: "D:\ is not accessible. The request cannot be performed because of an i/o device error."
For your information, I have the Toshiba Satellite Pro A100
Try to remove the drive from Device Manager. After the withdrawal, please restart the laptop. The operating system should recognize the drive again and you could check the functionality.
But to me it looks to your training goal is dirty and it is unable to read the disc.
Try to clean it, use a lint cloth and as the part of the lens is delicate, being very soft when you rub.I found that also this two links provided a useful info:

Satellite Pro A100 - audio artifacts / Virtual Sound
My Satellite Pro A100 (PSAA3E) has a boring character: audio (MP3, DVD, MPEG audio, etc.) reading is accompanied by a rumbling of objects of type "underwater." The same files (audio or video) or played on any other computer in the House of discs play perfectly well.
Since the problem seems to be related to this laptop, I tried to watch the audio software updates.
I noticed the Virtual Sound up-to-date. Downloaded, he ran. Installation upgrade needed to the previous version to remove, I did. Re-directed the program installation and received the message: "Effect Audio TOSHIBA does not support your computer."
Now, I still have the annoying audio artifacts, but I do not have any version of the Virtual Sound utility!
Someone at - it guidance to offer on this situation?
Thank you very much...
David.Hello
I can t believe that it of not possible to install it too much if it has been downloaded driver Toshiba and the box on the right page.
I found a statement of installation for this laptop. He was placed in the pilot area.
I think you should follow this guide to install the software and drivers.Sorry, but I put t see any other possibility to install Toshiba stuff on your laptop.
As far as I remember that some drivers and utilities need other applications. Therefore, the order is important. -
Satellite Pro A100 - PXE message appears at startup
I have a problem and I really really really could use some help, its been listen to me for the last two days ive trawled through countless amounts of forums and web pages without success then for a last ditch attempt until I throw it out the window (figuratively) I thought I'd come here for help!
It's a Toshiba Satellite Pro A100 model No. ' PSAAPE-00Q00KEN
initially when I started the computer this error message came
PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable of
PXE - M0F: Exit Intel Boot Agent.
Operating system not foundnow, I managed to stop the PXE errors by disabling the Lan built into the BIOS option
I have check and made sure it is not a disk in the DVD player to the left it doesn't have a floppy drive so it isn't that
BIOS for some reason usually see the hard drive is a seagate 80 GB HDD Sata, but I know that its fine because it works but in my Dell laptop.
and my Dell laptop hard drive is not seen in the Toshiba. Now that I read all about flashing the BIOS, but I can't because the only download I get Toshiba is one that runs when windows is running (if I can't get it to boot, how do I Flash the bios)?
I also tried thing BIOS resseting to short-circuit the c88 under the wireless network card, but that didn't work or the other!
Now is there anything else I can try or do give up and throw it out the window?
Thanks in advance

Hello!
It's really strange, but it looks like your HARD drive to the motherboard controller is the reason for this because you said that the HARD drive works in another phone.
Can you please try another HARD drive in this notebook? If another HARD drive works the old HDD is definitely faulty and if not, I think that the motherboard must be replaced.
So, you can determine what is exactly the problem.
In addition, I think that there is nothing more you can do at the moment.Good bye

Satellite Pro A100 - recovery disc creator does not exist!
Can anyone help! My laptop works fine, but I wanted to create a bootdisk problems.
But Toshiba Assist > Protect & Fix > does not give me an option to create a startup disk.
Should this with this model?I have the recovery disk Toshiba that came with the computer, but were warned NOT to test, otherwise it can actually cause me problems!
Any ideas?Satellite Pro A100-302
Part number: PSAACE-008002ENThis option is not available on this model of laptop. Because of this, Toshiba offers recovery DVDs which can be used for the installation of operating system.

This info can only come from people who don't know what they are talking about. Please ask this person what he exactly meant, and I will offer you the good explanation on the recovery procedure if you want to. -
Satellite Pro A100 - recovery mode sleep with keyboard or media remote
Hi guys
I have devoted my Satellite Pro A100 to be a media center which is located under the TV and can play media network and DVD etc..
It is using Vista.I want to set up, is that the lid is closed 24/7 365 days and when I want to use I just press "SLEEP" or power button on the remote control or the keyboard and it fires up ready for action.
POINT TO THE NOTE. I did it successfully with my OLD Tecra M3. However, was too slow for vista and media center
However, I put the power settings I want etc, close the cover nothing and activated standby hybrid (favorite sleep).
Now I CAN put it to sleep with the remote control or the multimedia keyboard. BUT I can wake up?... NO!. I thought about everything... went to the Device Manager and made sure that all the options for the remote control and keyboard and USB receiver are set to WAKE FROM SLEEP. The only thing to wake up it is the power button - which defeats the purpose of it sitting there like a dvd player.
awake when the remote control and keyboard function very well - I made sure that the batteries are charged.
I have the latest version of the BIOS and speaking of BIOS there is no option power S3 I noticed, but then there were not on the M3 and it worked very well in terms of sleep and wake up with the IR.I come to the forum because even though I know that some older systems will not work with vista - IF the M3 will work - I'm sure that the A100 twice as new and powerful.
Has anyone had this before - that I missed it must look me in the face.
Thanks in advance.
PS Also lately the touchpad played upward IE left and right clickers Exchange feature so one second your work as normal the next minute you click left and right clikc menu appears. Reset the synaptic reinstalled - rebuilt - BIOS - no difference.
When I worked in management for a large company when it started happening was not good news - it's a bad news?
Hello
I m not very well why it doesn t on your Satellite Pro A100 and why it works on M3.
But the fact is that the Satellite Pro A100 doesn t support the FIR (Fast InfraRed) port and the
Tecra M3 supports the fast infrared port.Maybe this could be the reason why you can not activate the laptop using the infrared remote control multimedia.
Welcome them
