  Each laptop has different pre-installed software and so different processes are run in the context of the operating system.
  There is no general answer that the process could be disabled.

  Fact is that notebook Toshiba supports many different features that need additional software.
  If you n t want to use features like the keys FN, Toshiba control buttons, etc. then you could disable the process responsible for this feature.

  If you n t know exactly what do a certain process, then goggle just for some details. There are many Web sites with a different database that contains information about the Windows background process.

  Then you can access the MSCONFIG and in the Startup tab you could disable some processes just to test.

  HARD drive password is known - no problem.
  According to Toshiba, the HARD drive password can be reset in the BIOS.

  By following the instructions in the documentation, a new password is entered, but a 'beep' is returned and it is clear that the password has not been changed.
  A support call was placed about 2 months there with the dealer who couldn't solve the problem. The dealer contacted Toshiba support helpdesk who told them that HARD drive password reset should be possible and they had no explanation or solution.

  I seem to be unable to make my A120 drive an external monitor. The said properties dialog box 2nd monitor cannot be activated until a monitor is attached. I tried with 3 different screens with the same result. Any ideas?

  I dual-boot (running Windows Vista & Win7) and if I delete Windows Vista can I reinstall Windows Vista with my recovery CD?
  And I have another drive on my computer for recovery Partition so I can use my recovery CD to reinstall Windows vista if I want once I got rid of him and would it erase my win7 disk or remove the duel boot?

  You can use the recovery disk to reinstall Vista on your laptop but as Luke mentioned, the recovery disk would format the whole HARD drive. It would erase all partitions on the HARD drive and you will lose also the installed Win 7!

  Since a few days on my Satellite Pro A120 Windows XP system clock is slow (the data are correct).
  Usually I realize it after turning on the laptop, sometimes even when the operating system is woking! I tried all types of virus/malware/spyware scan, system restore point. I guess the problem is the used battery from the RTC. Is it possible even if the data is correct?

  I'm afraid I n t m understand what you mean by system clock is slow.
  The BIOS clock shows incorrect data or time?

  Have you tried to change the time in the BIOS and then to check the time in Windows XP?

  We had a laptop brand Thoshiba (Satellite Pro A120 type; PTA83L-08L02N model number; SL.no. Y6131B1488H) as part of a package of type brand MD - 2000 Tesient relay.

  We use this laptop for other official purposes also. It works smoothly.

  But we were faced with the following problems:
  1. we could connect the computer laptop in Local Area Networking with other desktop computers and laptop. But we could not transmit or receive data from the other computer.

  2. we could connect us the laptop to the network in ad-hoc mode wireless and the laptop showed the link as 'excellent '. But as in the case of LAN, data may not be transferred or received.

  3. we tried to use dial-up modem to the laptop. But we do not have internet access. The error showed was 'busy line (error 676) '. In fact, the line was not busy.

  4. we checked to access internet using Reliance Netconnect USB modem after installing its software. He also failed in showing the "username & passwords are wrong in this area.

  5. I added an init string in the Toshiba modem commands: AT & FX1. But before that, I made a mistake. I installed the Client Services for Netware. After that, the connection mode was changed. But I don't know how to uninstall "client services for Netware".   I recently reinstalled xp professional on my satellite pro A120. I could download and install the main drivers of http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com and my phone is functional. However, I did not all sounds and (F6 & F7 and toggle) function keys not working, even after insalling the sound card. I read some of the posts on this forum and found that I needed insall the 'common' module to make them functional. I downloaded the driver from module common too, but when I run the Setup it starts initially, but fails both the configuration is complete.

  The same thing happens also with a few other drivers as saver of energy etc... I was not able to run the Setup program for the common module & driver power saver, basically, nothing happens after I have the respective installation.

  Can anyone help please?

  Have you tested this change in method of cooling in the sleep tool? Make sure that the cooling rack is not dirty and nothing is blocking the vents.

  You are right. The Satellite Pro A120 PSAC1E seems to be equipped with the Intel 945 GM Express Chipset graphics card chipsets.

  I checked the page of the Toshiba driver and found another; Intel 7.14.10.1147 driver version.

  Please check if this version can be installed correctly on your system.
