Satellite Pro L300 - what I can reinstall Vista with the recovery disk?
Hey
I dual-boot (running Windows Vista & Win7) and if I delete Windows Vista can I reinstall Windows Vista with my recovery CD?
And I have another drive on my computer for recovery Partition so I can use my recovery CD to reinstall Windows vista if I want once I got rid of him and would it erase my win7 disk or remove the duel boot?
My specs are:
Intel Pentium
2 GB OF RAM
Hard drive 160 GB
> if I delete Windows Vista can I reinstall Windows Vista with my recovery CD?
You can use the recovery disk to reinstall Vista on your laptop but as Luke mentioned, the recovery disk would format the whole HARD drive. It would erase all partitions on the HARD drive and you will lose also the installed Win 7!

Hello
Hmm, looks like the laptop cannot restore the operating system from the recovery image
To be honest I'm not very well why this error pops up but eventually it s m related to the new HARD drive installation.Perhaps, you can format the HARD drive again using a clean Microsoft Windows CD (Win XP, etc.).
Boot from the CD of Win and format the HARD drive.
Then go to the recovery disk, boot from the recovery disc and try reinstalling the operating systemMaybe it would work

I have a black screen and can not restart with the restore disc but it seems to be.
I find this odd, I can't ask Toshiba direct on my problem, but I have to wait for one nature in the heart of my problem or give me a helping hand
Hey,.
This means that you can see anything on the screen of the laptop or only if you try to start with the recovery disk?
You can start Windows or access the BIOS?
You must post a few more details, otherwise we can t help you :(Furthermore, Toshiba is not your first contact, you should ask an authorized service provider. They can help you too! :)

These issues can be fixed.
Problem is that no one knows us for sure why it happened. I assume that there is a problem with the recovery image.
Did you create it alone?
Do you use it for the first time? -
Info satellite A210 171 what do I need before using the recovery disk?
Hello
I have 1 recovery disk that came with my equium, have not used before.
It says on the back of the envelope of recovery disk 'insert the first diskette.I guess there should be a second?
Also this info I need to provide during the installation process? as serial number?
All I have a black and white sticker that is on the side of the box, it came in, but it was so long ago.I'm having a lot of problems with windows install does not and many others.
Windows updates do not work either and I tried to correct those, but a clean reinstall of the operating system has been recommended.
Now, at this point nothing will install because windows setup will not work.
So I think I wil lhave to try a clean install, but I do know that the cd player works.I got a great run on this laptop, little slow today for my needs, but all very good product, purchased in 2007.
With a clean OS and 4 GB of ram that could last for years, cannot afford a new right now.
I really tried to avoid using a disc of recovery in the past, as I have never had problems until now.Thank you

But my laptop is more recent that your A210 might be the reason why you have this driveI have created a recovery disk and I needed two-disc DVD, I think it depends on the size of the image file
> Also what information I need to provide during the installation process? as serial number?
This is not necessary because your system has already been activated. But I recommend you backup your personal data, because the recovery disk would format the whole HARD drive and you will lose the files.
PS: you should read other threads in product recovery forum!

Restart the error for Windows Vista with the recovery disk
I bought a Toshiba Satellite A355D-S6889 about two years ago. It came with Windows Vista. I subscribed to Norton AntiVirus and it totally messed up the computer. We lived with a duration of 5 to 10 minutes from start-up. In addition, many programs crash and it takes a lot of time for anything to work. I decided to for a recovery and a restore using the disks provided with the laptop. I followed the instructions, but it keeps hanging up on the second disc.
I tried to use a method that I found searching for forums (restart the computer by pressing '0', but I got lost on the loading cycle.) I'm not very strong programming and I guess when a CD provided by the company must be used for recovery, it should work. All my programs were legitimate, I want just my OS back so that I can use my computer.
Help, please. Thank you.

Satellite Pro L300 will not start - cannot get into the BIOS
Dear,
I got a satellite Pro L300, width a HARD drive partitioned, with Win XP installed C and D with Windows 7 installed, the problem is the following:
Days when I turned on my laptop, the OS splash screen appears, stop boot on Toshiba logo process.
In addition, I can't enter the BIOS with the F2 key or the Boot Manager by using the F12 key.Help, please.
> stop boot on Toshiba logo process
This means that the laptop can not pass the POST (power on self test) properly and it would mean that a hardware problem has been detected on the motherboard.Remove one of the modules RAM (check both) and try to turn on using a single module of RAM.
It is possible that one of the RAM modules is defectiveIt would also be possible that the motherboard is malfunctioning, as you can see, it is hard to say what role could be wrong, but what looks like a serious hardware failure

Reinstalled Win Vista with the recovery CD that I got with my HP Pavilion, now get quick activate Windows with a new product key. MS sticker on the tower is one that says 'Vista', no product key. When I go to activate Windows, I offer the choice to buy another copy of Windows or enter a new product key. A run the Genuine Advantage tool and he says it's "authentic." HP will not help, they say I have to buy another copy of Windows from MS, but I already paid for it when I bought the machine. What can I do?

Re: Satellite L300D comes with the recovery disk?
Hello
I don't get a recovery disk when I bought my Satellite L300D.
Does anyone know if Satellite L300D is provided with the recovery disk?As much I know computers made from the middle of 2007 aren't provided with the operating system recovery disks. How can I find out what year my satellite is made?
Thank you very much
All new models of laptops including your are delivered without the recovery DVDs.
Recovery image is saved in the folder called HDDRecovery on the second partition.Akuma is right. "You need to create a recovery media using preinstalled" Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator. The shortcut that you can find on the desktop. Please do so and for the creation of recovery media I recommend you to use media high quality as TDK or Verbatim DVD-R.
You can install OS using the F8 key at startup to the top. The guideline how to proceed you will find under http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm
Note please. This can be done if this recovery image is not modified or if you install another operating system on the first partition. the second partition can be in original condition, but this F8 option will be gone.If you have any other questions please let me know.

Satellite Pro L300 - what with firewire port express card?
I have a Satellite Pro L300. It doesn't have a Firewire (iLINK) port, I need to capture video from my Sony Handycam footage.
I am wanting to buy a card Express of Firewire. Anyone know what model is compatible with my laptop which runs on Windows Vista (and where I can buy it)?
I bought a Belkin Firewire notebook adapter, but it is not compatible with Windows Vista and it does not seem to fit. It seems to be too big for the express card slot.
Hello
Generally, all cards Express should be compatible.
You should google for firewire EpressCard.
You will get many more hits...
I found also some nice offers on the amazon page -
Satellite Pro L300-1FN does not start - hang at the BIOS splash screen
My Satellite Pro L300-1FN refuses to start. When turned on the laptop displays the home screen toshiba/insyde H20 BIOS and the message "press F2 go to the Setup utility, F12 to go to the start menu" and flashes the light access to the hard drive, but don't try to continue loading. I left the bios at the start screen, but it doesn't do anything for long hours on a power supply or is running the battery flat while on battery.
Is there a way to re - put the BIOS on this unit? If it's a desktop unit I would remove the CMOS battery to force a reset of the BIOS but that's impossible on a laptop. The hard drive is fine because I have it plugged into another system to remove valuable data.
Hello
What happens if you press F2 when starting the laptop to the top?
You can access the BIOS?
If so, access the BIOS and set its default value. I think you need to press F9 or F10 to get default parameters, but this will be mentioned at the bottom of the page of the BIOS.Check it!

Satellite Pro L300 - USB card reader does not support the 64 GB
HI I have a Satellite Pro L300 under Win XP that I want to attach a USB card reader. I find that I can not read the 64 GB cards. The error is that the card is not formatted. All other cards read correctly. I can place this card reader in my desktop running Win 10 and it works correctly and reads the 64 GB cards. This seems to indicate that the USB card reader works properly, and perhaps that the problem lies in the USB on the Toshiba drivers. Has anyone else had this problem and found a fix for this. I've just updated the BIOS but no improvement. Thank you
