Satellite Pro A300 PSAJ5C - power cable is broken

Power of PSAJ5C 00J00W of my Satellite Pro A300 cable is broken. Which cable buy to replace?

Do I need to buy a special model or simply a Toshiba cable?

Thanks for your help!

Hello

Do you mean the adapter?

I advise to use original Toshiba adapter because evil or not compatible adapter can damage the motherboard or would have an impact on the functionality of the laptop.

Check the part number of your old sector and google for this adapter usually some online dealers should provide such part otherwise you can get in touch with a Toshiba ASP in your country to get compatible part.

The specifications are: DC 19V 6.32 A (part PA3290E-3AC3 number)

  • Satellite Pro A300 - how to get the sound on the TV with VGA cable?

    Hello world

I have a real problem connecting my Satellite Pro A300 to my Samsung HDTV.
The video works fine - I used a VGA connection on the laptop and the TV.

The problem I have is healthy.
I want the sound either also come from the TV. I tried a jack of 3.5 m from the headphone jack of the laptop to a red and white connection RCA audio on the TV, but it doesn't seem to work.

Does anyone have any ideas or advice?
I need of additional drivers, etc., or do some settings need to be changed etc etc.

    Hello

Normally, to use the 3.5 mm jack plug in the headphones, you need an adapter cable.
At one end, it has a 3.5 mm jack and the other side to connect red and white audio RCA connections.
Here is an example of what I mean:
    http://www.optimization-world.com/IMG/prod/3_5_mm_rca_audio.jpg

I m using such an adapter without any problem. You n t need an additional driver, or something more. It's the same as if you were using a helmet. :)

  • Satellite Pro A300 - for Windows 7 power management strategy

    Hi all

I have the following on my Satellite Pro A300 problem:

My laptop fan works continuously, which means almost always turn. I cleaned the entire cooling with compressed air, so it is not clean, no problem with that. The reason is that in browsers when Adobe Flash Player runs, it loads the CPU and the GPU, so that the fan trying to cool the system.

Now I ask you, is there any solution to fix this? I mean even to reduce the GPU clock speed when I do not use the graphics intensive applications.

I use Google Chrome as default browser and the Windows 7 OS 32 bit.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hey Buddy,

If an application load the CPU and the GPU it s normal behavior that the fan rotates and probably on top level so it s high usage. So don t you worry because everything is normal. The fan protects the equipment from overheating.

What you can do is updated Google Chrome and Flash Player. Also try to use the most recent version, they also contain security updates.

Last but not least, you can change the cooling method in the power management Windows (change the power plan settings). If you have installed Toshiba Value added Package, you can choose between optimized battery and a maximum Performance. Select optimized battery and fan activity will be less.

  • Why Satellite Pro A300 does not start when you press the power button?

Suddenly my new Satellite Pro A300 does not start correctly when you press the power button. The situation is the following: when I press the power button is displayed the opening of Toshiba (Leading Innovation) and the disappers image quickly. Then there is a black screen for about 30 seconds. There is a rectangular frame with the text Microsoft Corporation under. And nothing happens however long wait.

In order to get with the trial starting I then shut down the computer by pressing the power button until the computer turns off. ("The hard way to close")
Now, I press the power button shortly to turn on the computer. Then, the computer starts normally with the photo to open Toshiba and after a few seconds, I wonder to open the computer in safe mode or in normal mode. I now choose to open in normal mode and the computer opens normally and is ready to work.

What should I do to get a normal departure procedure?

When the laptop starts normally (after choosing normal mode) stop your laptop properly using START > shut down option. Next launch should be normal.

When the OS is moving towards the low irregularly will always ask you how to start this new (secure or normal mode).
The same thing happen on my Satellite A300.

  • Satellite Pro A300 - cursor is random if the power is connected

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A300 running Vista Business and my synaptic touchpad cursor started becoming erratic and cannot be controlled normally.

It is hard to move and it will open programs and the internet, etc. This happens every time power outlet is plugged but normally works on battery. I ran Malwarebytes and AVG 8 scans, but they come without any problem. I restarted mode safe (after a forced closed down) and the problem has always existed.

Can someone throw some advice on this problem?

Strange. I never heard a question also and now I can t say what is the reason for this, but I hope that I can help you identify the reason.

It would be interesting to know if you have the same problem with an external mouse. You can check this please?
You use the original from Toshiba AC adapter or another?

Perhaps the problem can be solved if you update the BIOS. You can find it on the Toshiba site:

  • Satellite Pro A300 - overheating

    Hello

It's been a year and a half I got my Satellite Pro A300. A week ago, it started overheating very badly. Low CPU usage, it maintains its normal temperature of 55 - 60 c (given the weather was hot).
However, if I try to do something heavy CPU, lets the temperature of 100 ° C in a few minutes and the laptop stops. The fan works, except that it does not seem to generate as usual, as a powerful airflow which made me think it was clogged. I disassembled the laptop, but I couldn't get to the cooling unit because of three cables from the motherboard to the plastic shell, who of the White T, shaped connectors for the life of me I couldn't get out, even a little bit. I cleaned up what I could with compressed air and a little dust was allowed, however, the fan/radiator wasn't blocked at all.

After put back together there no significant difference.
I am sure that it is a new phenomenon that I did turn the machine much warmer weather in the worst conditions with loads CPU near 100% without any problems. I checked all the settings, just in case something has mitigated the fan, but the public electricity of standby service is set to "Maximum Performance".

I appreciate the ideas and help, even a few tips on how to disconnect the cables from the motherboard.
    Thanks in advance.

I imagine that there is a lot of dust inside and maybe is time for professional cleaning. You can contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. The guy he takes apart the whole notebook and remove all dust placed between the vents.

In any case, try to use your laptop with power management balanced which will reduce the performance of the processor, but your laptop will have enough power for normal operations.

In General, I think that your laptop must be properly cleaned.

  • Satellite Pro A300-28R - shows horizontal stripes

My Toshiba Satellite Pro A300 sometimes displays horizontal stripes making the text unreadable images before portable crushes and I have to restart. Occurs usually when I'm on the internet. Does anyone know why this happens and how to solve?
Once I rang Toshiba UK Technical Support and a rather impatient adviser said it was a discharge of static electricity problem, but why is it not with my laptop Pavilion?

My Toshiba Satellite Pro A300 is less than one year, but the problem occurred repeatedly. I also had to replace the power adapter already because of the cable being too steep to the piece of cylindrical shape next to the Jack. Is this all I know a question of production with this series of laptops?

    > My Toshiba Satellite Pro A300 sometimes displays horizontal stripes making the text unreadable images before portable crushes and I have to restart. Occurs usually when I'm on the internet. Does anyone know why this happens and how to solve?

These symptoms of display can be connected to a screen, graphics card driver or the graphics chip.
First of all, you should try to update the graphics driver and should check it again.
Secondly if this problem would appear then you must connect an external monitor to the laptop to check if the same would be visible on the external display.
If so, the problem could be related to the graphics chip.

It would be the worst case, a graphics chip cannot be replaced, but the whole mobo must be replaced in order to solve such a problem.

  • Satellite Pro A300 PSAG9E. Should I keep or not?

    Hello

I just bought a Toshiba Satellite Pro A300 PSAG9E. It came pre-installed with Vista and also a DVD to upgrade to windows 7 Professional (that I installed).

I tried to start the machine this morning, but for some reason it wouldn't start. All that's happened is that the initial toshiba screen appears, followed by a black screen frozen (showing underscore in the top left corner).

The thing is that I have seem to have been able to solve this problem, but I do not understand how and why this happened!
The issue seems to be related to the battery. At first, I tried to boot up the laptop (with only the battery connected) however it would not start. I don't think this has nothing to do with the amount of battery charge, because it had more than enough in it. I then tried to start it with just the power cable (and no battery). For some reason any that seemed to do the trick, and the laptop has been able to start. The laptop has now also boots when battery and the attached cable.

    Why is this happening?
I am interested to know, is because this laptop already has given me a few problems. The laptop also bought very recently, so I can still return it for a refund (which I seriously think!).

What should I do guys? Any help/advice you give to this topic would be highly appreciated.

    Thank you
    Jay

    > All that's happened is that the initial toshiba screen appears, followed by a black screen frozen (showing underscore in the top left corner).

Underscore flashing in the left corner means that the BIOS battery was empty or something wrong with the HARD drive (possibly BIOS didn't find the right source of start-up)

I recommend access to BIOS and set it to the default value. Save the changes and try to start the device again.

You should also keep the laptop connected to the mains for about 24 hours and the laptop should be ON as well.
This will help the CMOS battery.

  • Cooling fan does not work on Satellite Pro A300

    Hello world

I was asked by a friend to repair their Satellite Pro A300, because their CPU cooling fan had stopped working even during the start of the POST and the laptop could overheat and shutdown. So I thought it might one of three things:
    # Fan is obstructed by dust or dirt
    # Rolling fan failed
    # Fan power cable was loose

So I disassembled the laptop and cleaned the fan/radiator with compressed air and check the connection of the supply, which was solid, but this does not solve the problem, so I replaced the fan and the heatsink with another that I knew worked from the same model laptop that had a motherboard fault due to the bug of password to start random bios (out of warranty) but still no joy.

I'm starting to believe that the fan was perfectly fine rather motherboards temperature of the processor or the sensors that control the activation of the fan has failed.
Am I correct in thinking that it is essentially, irreparable without specialized tools and my friend will be content themselves to turn the system off each hourish or is there something else I forget?

    Thanks for any help.

    Hello

I m not a technician, but for me, looks like the fan connector is working properly if you already replaced the fan and therefore, it would be necessary to replace the motherboard

That s all I can say about it having a look for second mainboard or laptop where you can get a motherboard cheap. Maybe it works. :)

  • Satellite Pro A300 PSAGDE re-start when it is plugged

I've had this laptop stored for awhile that I couldn't work through this problem, but I'll have another chance.

The laptop is a Satellite Pro A300 PSAGDE.
The problem I am haiving, is that the laptop might restart whenever I connect the PSU, but not when you use a live CD (Ubuntu).

Let me try to Flash a BIOS replacement to see if this will fix the problem.
Unfortunately, the necessary software to Flash the BIOS requires the laptop to be plugged.

Is there a way around this problem?
Can I trick the software into thinking it is plugged?
Is there a way I can return/repair of the BIOS in a different way because obviously the problem has always been there.

    Thank you

    Hello

Sorry mate but I'm afraid I n t m know exactly what the problem is
You said that you can not boot from a Linux Live CD, but you can install a Windows system on this laptop?

Why do you think the BIOS is the problem?
Even if the BIOS is not updated, the laptop should power on correctly and should boot

Can you explain the problem exactly?

  • Need to host key for my Satellite Pro A300

    Hello

Is there anywhere I can get a 'Home' for my Toshiba Satellite Pro A300 button without replacing the entire keyboard? I asked around, but the stores do not have individual keys.
My House key is broken and doesn't stay on properly and I would like a new.

    Thank you

You are right. You cannot order a unique key. For this kind of situation the best option is eBay.
You can buy used keyboards and it costs a few Euros.

Last month, I sold a keyboard used for A300 on eBay and got 14 Euros. It's really cheap and you can buy it.
When you get it, you try to fix this unique key or Exchange the entire keyboard.

Sorry, but I don't think that there is another solution for this problem.

  • Satellite Pro A300 can not find USB devices

    Hello forum,.

We have a customer who bought a Toshiba Satellite Pro A300 with us, but he gets a strange mistake about it.
It connects to a hub 5port Sandberg USB 2.0 to one of the usb ports, the pc detects the hub, but when it connects a /Memory stick to the hub, nothing happens.
the hub and the memory stick works on other PCs.

    I hope someone can help.

    Best regards

    John Bork
    DANBIT A/S

    Hello

What happens if you connect the memory stick directly without this USB hub?
I also had a USB hub, but these hubs are a little complicated and delicate USB specification allows a certain power and according to the devices that connect, you need to use an active USB hub, that means with external power supply.

But normally, Satellite Pro A300 should have enough USB ports if it of needed, I would recommend a USB hub with 2 or 3 maximum ports

  • Satellite Pro A300-28V - my bluescreens disappeared when the BIOS has been upgraded

I'm curious to know about it. The machine is a Satellite Pro A300-28V with Vista32/Win7.
Had problems with bluescreen dumps referring to 'iaStor.sys '. I was about to send the laptop in for repair when I made this last effort to resolve the problem. Upgrade 1.9 to 2 BIOS, 1 - Win.

All of a sudden my system image succeeded! Even at an Iomega home network HDD. Without complex!
No blue screen exports even at startup 'cold' (after a free night)!

For now, I leave the computer in sleep mode while I am at work. Let's see if he managed a day without landfills.

What is the technical difference between 1.9 and 2.1 BIOS? No idea if it's something with iaStor.sys to do?

    Hi mate

This is really good news as your BSOD displeasured after the BIOS update.
The BIOS give instructions to the test power - on self test (POST) and provide basic information on how to manage components of the laptop, as HDD, ODD memory, that are required to load the operating system.

Who knows, what was changed in the update but the main thing is that all the work and the update solve your BSOD

    > No idea if she has something with iaStor.sys to do?
iaStor.sys is part of the SATA driver who is required to recognize the HARD drive using AHCI mode.

    Hello

You have installed Win 7 but you didn t install some tools that controls the FN keys!

You need to install the support card Flash Utility and added value package!
You can find that both page European driver Toshiba Satellite L500 download area!

PS: I think you should also check the BIOS settings. Some BIOS contains an option to toggle the wifi.
