Satellite Pro L300 - BIOS problems

I know how to use bios and there are some values that I need to change in the bios, but no matter what I press, I can't get into the bios. The computer itself has no problem of thin loads just can't bring up Bios no matter what I press. Its makes me mental.

I tried the follow

F1
F2
ESC
Delete

All at different times, or at different times. Is there a background mix that I push?

Press F2 when you see the Toshiba Slashscreen.

If you stop in suspension or Hibernation Mode, you can not enter the BIOS. Ensure you Windows shuts down completely.

You can also change the settings of the BIOS Toshiba Assist or HWSetup.

  • Re: Satellite Pro L300 - keyboard problem

    Hi all

    I have a Toshiba Satellite L300.
The original keyboard started acting fuynny after, in my opinion, it was abandoned.
He began to record two characters on 1 button on a few letters and the '1' key was also acting as the tab key.

I decided to change the keyboard for a brand new, but nothing helps...
I'm a bit stuck now to know where to start troubleshooting.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thank you

If the laptop has been abandoned or not?
I think it's very important to know if the laptop has been abandoned or not because the other pieces of equipment that are likely to be affected.
I mean it would be possible that this keyboard or motherboard controller is affected due to the fall of the laptop.

I put t think that someone here might be able to help you if the laptop was dropped, then you should ask a technician for a verification of the material may be there is a party who is affected and must be replaced, but material must be checked to know

  • Satellite Pro A100 - BIOS problems: B-S-O-D & non-sync

    Hey all,.
I recently updated my BIOS to 1.6
    After the update:
-If I select "Shutdown" or "Restart", I get a 'blue screen of death' (a whole bunch of text too fast as I can't read), and restarted my laptop.
-If I select "Logout" instead, followed by "Stop" or "Restart", while the laptop seems stopped, etc., correctly.
However, even if it looks correctly stopped using the "Logout" approach, my laptop is now not sync'ing properly with my server.

I am convinced that it is the update of the BIOS, as nothing has changed since the update (or even before the update).

Is it possible, or rather, how downgrade / format / restore my previous BIOS?
I would like to make an update of the previous BIOS (to Oct 2006), as well as the backup BIOS the BIOS before this 2006 update.

    Any help will be appreciated.

  • Satellite Pro L300-128 - startup problem

    Hi all

I recently bought a Satellite Pro L300-128 GB specification, that has a Celeron M550 running Windows XP and a construction date of the end of June 2008. I have a problem with the switching on of the machine if it has been turned off for a long period of time.

Basically, if the AC cable is inserted into the computer laptop and plugged in, the green light turns on, but pressing the button it does nothing. By the process of elimination, I have found that, after a short period of time (say 15-30 minutes) if (and only if) the AC cable is then removed from the laptop, it lights up then!

Plug the AC cable, while the laptop is on, do not cut the machine and charge the battery as usual. The battery life seems very good, if a little short (say 1.5 - 1.75 hours when used "constantly").

If the computer is restarted, it lights again very well - if it is turned off and left for a few minutes, once again no problem. But, if she is not with the battery fully charged and left all night - it lights again in the morning.

Now, as a new machine, I'm wondering if the battery needs a long initial load (such as a mobile phone)? Nothing is said about it in the manual. I have not yet checked if the battery down completely himself during the night. I haven't run the battery to the laptop for a long time (say all day) to 'trickle charge '. I don't know if the period from 15 to 30 minutes to get the thing started is once again because the battery is completely discharged during the night (I need to check the BIOS to see if "Wake up we LAN/wireless" is activated)-anyone know how long a fully discharged battery must be charged before that the machine will let you start it?

Under the machine, there are two battery release buttons and it seems loose - I don't know if it's related, but can't see how. Moreover, when the question arose (during the first delivery the laptop), I removed the battery and tried power upwards of food, but nothing to do.

I ran all the software updates (chipset etc) I can find on the download page, the BIOS version is 1.40 (last) of the factory.

Any suggestions would be welcome before I have use the service of repair under warranty for the first time! I don't know if it is related to the fact that the power button seems to be a micro switch rather than a good button/switch in the conventional sense of the term, i.e. you can 'feel' it do something!

    Thank you very much
    Richard

    Hello

If you have purchased a new laptop, the battery is empty and needs to be charged in the first place.
You can also connect the adapter to the laptop while the battery is empty and the laptop should also lights up properly.
The laptop must also run without the battery and using only the AC adapter.

It should also be possible to put the laptop by pressing the power button for about a second, if this is not possible, a malfunction of the laptop could be possible.

In such cases, it s always advisable to contact the local ASP for a verification of the laptop.

I mean your laptop is under warranty and if something is not wrong with the machine so everything must be replaced free of charge

In my opinion, the laptop must be checked!

  • Satellite Pro L300 will not start - cannot get into the BIOS

    Dear,

I got a satellite Pro L300, width a HARD drive partitioned, with Win XP installed C and D with Windows 7 installed, the problem is the following:

Days when I turned on my laptop, the OS splash screen appears, stop boot on Toshiba logo process.
In addition, I can't enter the BIOS with the F2 key or the Boot Manager by using the F12 key.

    Help, please.

    > stop boot on Toshiba logo process
This means that the laptop can not pass the POST (power on self test) properly and it would mean that a hardware problem has been detected on the motherboard.

Remove one of the modules RAM (check both) and try to turn on using a single module of RAM.
It is possible that one of the RAM modules is defective

It would also be possible that the motherboard is malfunctioning, as you can see, it is hard to say what role could be wrong, but what looks like a serious hardware failure

    Hello

Start-up of facilities you have to load the SATA driver. I think that your laptop has a Chipset Mobile Intel® GL960 Express with code CrestlineGM + ICH8-M name.

When WXP facilities charge ICH8 SATA driver. You can find it under http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/stormng-20070827133046.zip

  • Satellite Pro L300-1FN does not start - hang at the BIOS splash screen

My Satellite Pro L300-1FN refuses to start. When turned on the laptop displays the home screen toshiba/insyde H20 BIOS and the message "press F2 go to the Setup utility, F12 to go to the start menu" and flashes the light access to the hard drive, but don't try to continue loading. I left the bios at the start screen, but it doesn't do anything for long hours on a power supply or is running the battery flat while on battery.

Is there a way to re - put the BIOS on this unit? If it's a desktop unit I would remove the CMOS battery to force a reset of the BIOS but that's impossible on a laptop. The hard drive is fine because I have it plugged into another system to remove valuable data.

    Hello

What happens if you press F2 when starting the laptop to the top?
    You can access the BIOS?
If so, access the BIOS and set its default value. I think you need to press F9 or F10 to get default parameters, but this will be mentioned at the bottom of the page of the BIOS.

    Check it!

  • Satellite Pro L300 - CD burning problem

I recently bought a Satellite Pro L300 laptop and I have problems with the CD's I created.

Any software I use Nero, Toshiba etc I still get the same problem. The created disc will play on the laptop, but not in my home Hi-Fi, the reader will recognize the disk, how much tracks etc. but does not play. I use discs without brand that worked with my old desktop computer Dell & Sony DVD player.
I can also not less than 10 x using nero burning speed,

    I use usually 4 x.
The operating system is Windows XP.
    Anyone got any ideas?

I put t know what CD/DVD drive you have but on the Toshiba site for some readers are firmware upgrades available. Maybe you should try this to solve the problem.

  • Satellite Pro L300 - when the old version of BIOS get?

I have a Satellite Pro L300. I have updated the BIOS from 1.9 to 2.1. Since then the ventillator works much more, with much more noise as well.

How can I stop it, or download the bios to 1.9?

    Hello

Older versions of the BIOS peut t be downloaded on the Toshiba site. They are only available for authorized service providers.

But I doubt that the BIOS is the reason for this. You should try to clean your laptop using a jet of compressed air. This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans.
