Satellite Pro L300D-20R: displays error 0xc000000f when recovered

Hello

I wonder if someone can help me. There are accidents of software in my laptop. I tried to restore my laptop to factory setting, but failed.

Here's what I did: under the opening of proceedings (F12) to drive recovery HARD, I entered "repair your computer" and then computer show the error 0xc000000f. It came at the very end when I 'C' boot from CD/DVD with windows Vista recovery.

Any help appreciated,
Thanks in advance,

Adam

Hello

As far as I know, you have to press F8 to start the HARD drive recovery process.
Then a new menu will appear where you can choose repair my computer.
Then, you choose the HARD drive recovery.

If this is not possible, that it would mean that there is something wrong with the HARD drive or the partition that contains the files / image of HARD drive recovery.
This might explain why the boot from the CD/DVD drive is not possible.

Conversely a failure of RAM could be the reason too.
That's why it of needed to check if these parts.

By the way; are you able to boot from an another disc bootable Win XP or Linux live CD?

    Hello

Have you tried reinstalling the driver for the webcam? You can download it from the official website of Toshiba:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

Before installation: remove the driver current webcam and restart your computer. Try a registry cleaner like Ccleaner, then stop and try again. Now, you can install the latest driver for the webcam.

    I hope it works! :)

  • Satellite Pro L300D-20R closing in safe mode

    Hi people,

I sometimes run comprehensive analyses using Avira antivirus and Souleymane free like Ccleaner in safe mode. However, when I boot in SafeMode aggressively, the fan runs all the time and then my laptop stops. This also occurred when I was using the help function this is not only limited to execution of the anti malware scans. I tried to use 'start repair' but there is no fix. Then I used the Toshiba HDD recovery to restore the factory settings, but that didn't work either. In normal mode, it analyzes free anti-virus and anti-malware and works OK.

    All advice appreciated.

    Hey,.

I'm pretty sure that the problem is not due to due to a virus or something else. Peut t-virus shut down the computer immediately; they can slow down performance, delete files, etc.

It is interesting to know that the fan runs at high level all the time, so I could imagine there is a lot of dust in the radiator and fan which blocks the flow of air. In your case, I would try to clean the system of cooling as expected [HERE | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=40] and check if it worked or not.

  • Satellite Pro L300D-20R and games

I am interested in buying this laptop to replace our office. Does anyone know how much the ATI Radeon 3100 Graphics are good?

Our kids like playing Zoo Tycoon 2 and Sims it would be able to play these games?

    We don't play FPS games.

    Hello

I think that you shouldn't have any problems these games but if you're hardcore gamer and want to play high-performance games in the future so I would recommend to buy a desktop PC. The point is that you can easily replace the graphics card of desktop PC and can upgrade the processor if necessary.
But it is not possible to replace the graphics card in the laptop.

Anyway, play games more old you should have no problem of performance...

  • Satellite Pro L300D started crashing when you are connected to the projector

Hi all, I have a Satellite Pro L300D, have since January. In March of this year, it developed a problem.
He began to turn the power on and off screen until I got the blue screen of death and had to reboot the laptop, also BIOS crashed. He was sent to Toshiba and got sorted.

I use the laptop in the Church for the presentation to the powerpoint, we use a projector that connects to the video output on the laptop, but it has now begun to crash whenever I connect the projector to your laptop.

Can I use the powerpoint, switch to the view of presenters and show the presentation of 30 minutes, then the screen goes black for about a second, the laptop and the projector off, then when they come again, I get a message saying that the display driver has been restarted, little after that the screen turns off, and then market / stop about six times before that I get the BSOD.

Also, if I show a clip AVI or video during the presentation, it will crash soon after or even before its done.

Have updated the drivers for laptop, I always get a message stating all the drivers are up to date and I am quite at a loss to know what to do next.

To be honest, I'm so fed up with it that I am almost to the point of buying an Apple Mac Pro and away from Windows-based computers all together, my friends have macs and they never have any problem.

Someone at - it an idea on what could be the problem?

    RGS
    James

    Hello James

Can you please tell me what mode you are using for the presentation?
Is that what this duplication mode (the same image on the LCD screen and the external device) or something else?
Do you have problems if you use the single external device (LCD screen is OFF)?

Movie files can be problematic if you run on laptops LCD and try to switch to the external display while the movie is running.

  • Installation of Windows XP on Satellite Pro L300D-136

    Hello

I realize that this question is very similar to those posed elsewhere on these forums. I tried after the solutions proposed elsewhere but were unable to do anything at work.

I'm trying to install XP Pro on a Satellite Pro L300D 136, which is currently under Vista.

I tried to get into the BIOS and change SATA compatibility mode, but I still get a blue screen of death when booting from the installation disc. Reading elsewhere on the forums, that I understand that I have to use nlite to include drivers SATA on the installation CD, I'm not sure how to find out what drivers I need. Number of threads talking about MSM from Intel, but my machine has an AMD Athlon processor. Does make a difference? Where can I find the necessary drivers in the download section of Toshiba?

Thank you in advance for your help, this is the first time I tried to replace a windows with another OS...

    Yes, it makes a difference.

For laptops equipped with AMD processor (they don t have an Intel chipset) you need the display driver.
In the display driver package are the SATA drivers you need.
You can find it on the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

  • Satellite Pro L300D: Cannot install because of the common Modules control utility

    Hi guys,.

I'm new to this forum, but I spent two days looking around.
I have a sat Pro L300D that I'm downgrading to XP, because many are, and I can't get the touchpad to work or function buttons.

One problem seems to be to install the utility 'controls', which gives the message "common modules" not installed even though it was the first pilot, I have installed.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    OK, here we go.
Toshiba pilot European page doesn't provide drivers XP ALL, tools or utilities for the Satellite Pro L300D.
Is this good? I checked the page and there are no. XP applications.

So I came to the conclusion that the common Modules cannot be installed because this software was not designed for this series of portable and therefore, you receive this error message.
    It is clear!

So Don t wonder what impossible to install "utility controls" or common modules. These pieces of software are not compatible

So I went to the Toshiba Site and I downloaded an updated BIOS yesterday and installed even today, during installation the PC frooze.

Model is PSLC9E Satellite Pro L300D

The case is clear buddy update the BIOS has no procedure
Perhaps the BIOS might not be updated correctly because the laptop crashed until the update procedure could be completed.

Well, I can tell you that you will not be able to fix it yourself it's a serious issue and ONLY the ASP (certified partner) would be able to help you!

So contact the ASP technician and ask for later handling.

1 recovery image contains all the drivers, tools and utilities and after recovery image installation you don't need to install anything. Everything will be installed correctly.
    2. don't you are useless there. This is image recovery and not typical installation where you must enter the product key.

  • Satellite Pro L300D-138 restarts on shutdown

    Hello

I recently bought a Satellite Pro L300D-138, and I also got one for my parents. Almost every time that I stopped it, it restarts automatically. I think it happens when there are updates that are installed, but I think it could happen even if it is not updated. I don't get messages that say, 'news updates, restart necessary.' or whatever it is. I thought also restarts of updates required as such, but that shut down the computer and then turn it on again tomorrow, or anything that would complement the updates. Maybe I'm wrong... ? Y at - it somewhere I want to wait for new update/restart applications?
It's not a big deal, really, it's just a bit of a pain in the @55 to return the laptop to close again a few minutes after turned it off, it... I am making sense? I feel I am repeating myself! :)

This happens also with the laptop I got for my parents, so I assume it's a Toshiba, or something new computer thing, I just want to know if I can make him stop or if I have to put aside 10 minutes to close the bottom!
    Cheers for any help!

    Ailbhe

    Checkbox rdi posted.

Also make sure that if this happens only if there are no updates to update will be installed because it might be the reason for the restart.

    Hello

As you can see for days nobody anything post here. I think the reason is quite simple. Linux is not supported and most people use the preinstalled operating system.
I think you should try to find the answer on the Ubuntu forum. Here you can meet people with good experience of Ubuntu.

If you find a solution please let us know. All useful info may help others here.

  • Blank DVD is compatible with Satellite Pro L300D-224?

I have a Satellite Pro L300D-224 and need to buy some blank DVDs to create the recovery disks.

How can I find out who is compatible and how buy?

    Hello!

I think normally you need only 1 or 2 blank DVD for the recovery disks, but I always buy a spindle of 50 DVD - R Verbatim discs. That s a lot cheaper just to buy Virgin DVD s.
For example, I bought this one for my Satellite L300: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Verbatim-43533-DVD-R-Printable-Spindle/dp/B00097CDHC/ref=tag_dpp_lp_edpp_ttl_in

I use these discs as in other laptops and PC and never had any problems. I m very satisfied with these discs and manufacturing.

    Good bye

  • Devices Satellite Pro L300D-110 - downgrading to XP Pro - HARD drive missing?

Hello to everyone in the Toshibe Satellite Pro - my first post forum.

I was one proud owner of other portable Tosh without any problem, but this time, I'm miserable: (o)

For professional use a few days ago, we bought a laptop Satellite Pro L300D 110 (AMD Athlon Dual Core). We bought it with the understanding that it could be brought back to XP Pro - mainly because some of the software that we use on a daily basis does not work reliably on Vista, but also because all other laptops to desktop computers in our network (including a WLAN) all running XP Pro, adding another machine that it should have been easy.

The need to do so has been confirmed by the fact, nevertheless, I tried, we could just not get the new Toshiba L300D connection through our routers so that under Vista. At the same time, we also bought a new Dell with no o/s. I installed a new copy of XP Pro SP2 OEM - and it runs under the sweet as a nut! Sorry, I digress:

I reduced the L300D to XP Pro very well using the XP Pro provided - Toshiba Recovery disk no problem at all. I had the computer connected to the network too, but then I realized that the DVD (Pioneer DVD - RW DVRTD08A ATA) is not found by Windows.

Logged in the BIOS setup - Yes, he was listed there OK, but tried some tongs and tricks I have learned over the years, I still couldn't XP Pro to the discovery of the device.

I have now reinstalled Vista on the machine and he found the DVD burner.

If it's a PC, I shut down the computer, open the case, disconnect the writer, start, stop, reconnect the device, close case and bingo. But not with perhaps a laptop...

Someone has ideas how (reliable!) downgrade to XP Pro without devices being endangered? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have two copies again more XP Pro SP2 at my disposal, if that's any use.

    Kind regards

    David

    (> I'm happy again now: o)
    Great to hear that!

    Just for info:
The most recent series of portable supports the newer SATA HDD controllers and so the operating system can be installed if the SATA drivers are not included and preinstalled.

So if you want to use the SATA features you must first install the SATA driver.
But you can also activate SATA mode to compatibility mode (in BIOS) and this would install the Win XP without the necessary SATA drivers.

    Good bye
