Satellite Pro L510 - crashes and blue screen

Hello
I am a new user of the Toshiba Satellite Pro L510, since last September, barely 3 months.
Recently, had met 2 crashes (2nd is today s). As it happened today, there are blue screen that appears, which included messages like 'crash', 'written' physical memory... etc.

In addition to send it for repair for this new laptop, I don't know what is the best way to manage this accident and what might be the best way to prevent this accident.

Recently I installed programs such as Microsoft SQL Server 2008, anti-virus program (Sophos), which I think are necessary (the first was for my studies as well).

Would appreciate any pointers to advise me if these could be the causes of the accident, and that I have to do to keep the better laptop or y at - it any generic deficiency maybe I should take notes.

Thanks in advance for any advice for this laptop.
Kind regards

Hey,.

First of all, I must say it is very difficult to say whether this problem is software or hardware related, but in most cases these accidents are caused by software or drivers...

I put t know how many programs you have installed, what OS you use and if there are compatibility problems, but you can test it yourself: Toshiba start recovery disc recovery facility. After that, you have the same settings that you have purchased.

You should examine it a little these parameters. If everything is ok, it was just a problem software or driver. ;)

  • Satellite A500 - crackling sounds and blue screen

    Hey everybody.

I bought a laptop Toshiba Satellite A500-19w about 4 days ago (today it is Sunday, March 7, 2010).

I had the sounds of crackling of my speakers which have been mentioned so many times in the forums, no real solution.
I also experienced the crash of the blue screen, that's already happened 7 times while I was not strongly using my newly buy laptop.
I'm not looking for a repair or a replacement, because I find it quite unacceptable to have to think about the errors, faults & fixes as much as the laptop is brand new.

What I want is a refund, but I'm not sure on how to do it.

I know that Toshiba has some sort of refund policy, but if someone can tell me exactly how it works, because I want to get rid of my laptop as soon as possible (I will not buy any more portable Toshiba, especially since I had some similar problems with my Qosmio f30).
If someone can give me some guidance, because I don't want to be mocked or used and cheated out of refund.
I bought my Toshiba in the Middle East (perhaps refund policies are different here).
    Thank you.

    Hi mihran.

If you want to pay off your laptop, you should talk with your computer store where you bought it. Only the can repay your laptop and not Toshiba directly.
Of course it is also depending on the country where you life, but normally you can pay within 14 days I think. So in your case I speak with the seller or give them a call. They explain how to do this.

But let me give you a little advice: regarding your problems with the crackling sound and blue screen I recommend that you contact an authorized service provider or ask a new A500 (this should be possible if you have only 4 days). Generally, I can say that a friend of mine has Satellite A500 and he is quite satisfied with her. This laptop has a great design equipped with new material for a good price. :)

  • Satellite Pro A300 crashes with white screen

I have a Satellite Pro A300, AMD processor, Vista, ATI graphics card.

The system worked fine for a year, but there are a few months, he started crashing, the screen went white, not blue, whatever it be running, like music, stopped. This can occur after several hours or minutes, or even if he is re-start. All my software is up-to-date, Microsoft and Toshiba. I rebuilt my system from scratch and the symptoms came back.

At first I thought that this could be a heat problem, but I followed this but I don't think that's it. It crashed seconds after leaving standby mode when it has not had a chance to warm up.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Simon

    Hey Buddy,

Theoretically, it might be an overheating problem so the screen became due white built in overheating protection...

You should try to clean your laptop using a jet of compressed air. This could blow the dust of fans cooling and, therefore, it of not necessary to disassemble the laptop.

  • Satellite Pro L10 crashing and sectioning devices

    Hello, I'm looking for help.
Ive had my satellite pro for almost a year, bought new.

I havn't had anyproblems until about 3 weeks when the laptop disconnected all devices connected (IE my external mouse etc.) and then crashes, the laptop refuses to accept any input, although running applications hang, but I can't type, or move the mouse.

Used when he computer crash just as it is for me to press the power button, the mouse pad gets very hot and I have to disconnect the battery to restart the machine, it tends to happen 2 twice or 3 times a day, but I don't think that it is a fan problem, because sometimes I can go days without any problem.

Yet somedays it works simply for more than 5 minutes.
I used the recovery disk and it has not solved the problem.
I'm qaulified technician and so I tried most of the obvous stuff.

    Hello

I assume you mean the touchpad.
Unfortunately, this seems very strange and I n t think you can fix this problem yourself.
It is not easy to say why it happens. It is very difficult because the issue is not regular.
I think that you will need to contact Toshiba service partner in your country, because guys could start diagnostic tests and then they can locate the fault.

  • conmputer crashes and blue screen appears and the computer restarts

my computer guard crash blue screen appears and then the computer restarts, reinstalled windows xp and the problem persists

If you reinstalled Windows, then you can be sure that it is hardware related.

The three most likely culprits are the processor, graphics or RAM card. Unfortunately exactly identify the problem will always be tricky unless you have access to the spare parts that you can switch to turn.

Have you recently added any hardware? Have you updated any drivers just before this started? (Check
Panel configuration-updates of Windows to see if all drivers have been updated it there all the time it started)
Main likely culprits are video driver, other great drivers, memory and antivirus/antispyware/security
products could be at fault as well as reader questions.

Use the troubleshooter above for pilots and memory.

    BCCode: 50 0 x 00000050

    Cause

The BCCode 50 usually occurs after the installation of the installation of a faulty material or failure of
material (usually associated with defective RAM, either main memory, L2 RAM or RAM video cache).

Another common cause is a defective system service installation.

Antivirus software can also trigger this error, as can a corrupted NTFS volume.

    Solve the problem

Solve a defective hardware problem: If the material has been added to the system recently, remove it to see
If the error recurs. If the hardware failure existing, remove or replace the faulty component. You must run
Diagnostics of material provided by the manufacturer of the system. For more information about these procedures, see the owner
    Manual for your computer.

Fix a defective system service: Disable the service and confirm that this resolves the error. If so,.
Contact the manufacturer of the system service on a possible update. If the error occurs during the system
startup, restart your computer, and then press F8 at the menu character mode that displays the operating system
choice. In the Windows Advanced Options menu that results, select thelast known good Configuration
option. This option is most effective when a pilot or a service is added at a time.

Solve a problem of antivirus software: Disable the program and confirm that this resolves the error. If she
is the case, contact the manufacturer of the program about a possible update.

Fix a corrupted NTFS volume: Run Chkdsk /f /r to detect and repair disk errors. You must
Restart the system before the start of the analysis of disk on a system partition. If the SCSI hard disk, check for
problems between the SCSI controller and the drive.

Finally, check the system log in Event Viewer for additional error messages that might help identify the
device or the driver that generated the error. Disable the cache in memory of the BIOS might also resolve it.

  • Satellite Pro 6000 freezes and the screen is weird random pattern

    Hello

I recently bought a SP6000 second-hand advertised as having "graphics problems". After 10 minutes or use the laptop freezes and the screen has a strange random pattern all acorss it. The speakers are also a strange hum. I have to stop the laptop and restart.

I've updated the bios and drivers for card video from the toshiba site, but he always does. Can anyone help?

    Hello

It's not easy to say why this problem occurs. You have purchased a second hand unit. It is possible that your device has a hardware malfunction, but I can't give you an answer why it is happening. I suppose that temperature increases after 10 min of use.
Maybe this could be a problem. It could also be a fault of the motherboard. But these are just suggestions. In my opinion, you should ask the service for detailed information.

    Hello

I got a Satellite P300, running on Windows Vista home premium and its provided with a card ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650.
My laptop crashes and send me windows and blue screens said that it is the cause of ls my graphics driver and the eror message is Atikmdag.
I've tried everything (I think), I re - installed windows but what I had to do a restore with the current settings, because in some cd a little way my F8 function does not work so I couldn't restore my windows from my hard drive.
I also had the latest Ati drivers, it does not help either, I also re-installed and tried to run my laptop on windows drivers, it doesn't help either.

I don't really know what to do, can anyone help me please?

Are you sure you're running video drivers downloaded from a site of Toshiba? Unfortunately the drivers may not be the root of the problem, so it is important to eliminate as the cause. How to remove AMD recommended driver is [http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/GPU57RemoveOldGraphicsDrivers.aspx] and if you follow that with an installation of drivers Toshiba, then your laptop must be in a State also provided

I would recommend that you look at this [how to troubleshoot display driver stopped responding and has recovered, errors of type ATIKMDAG.sys | http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/737-27116RadeonSeries-ATIKMDAGhasstoppedrespondingerrormessages.aspx]

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro L510 (P / N:PSLFML - 002004). Recently, I upgraded my Intel WIFI Link 5100 (my original WLAN is Realtek RTL8191SE). I tried Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit with intel driver, version 13.4 and 13.5, non of them worked so far. I always get this error 'this device cannot start' in Device Manager

Can someone help me with this problem please?

    Duy

    Hello

May I ask why you switched the WLAN card? Something was wrong with your old WLAN or why you did that?

The WLAN feature was working before the upgrade?

I can say with certainty why you get this message error, but to me it seems that the WLAN card is not activated, you permit wireless network adapter using the FN + F8 key combination?

    http://www.Microsoft.com/UK/expression/products/StudioUltimate_SysRequirements.aspx
According to this statement you must have installed Windows XP SP3 home edition.

Your ad is a bit confusing to me. You have a problem with the functionality of DVD - RAM or optical disc drive cannot read all drives (different CD, DVD, DVD - R formats. DVD + R and so on)?

I put t know what is the problem with the optical disc drive, but way generally, an installation of software packages has nothing to do with ODD when you use it as first boot device.
    > I can not even restart my operating system discs cannot be read from the BIOS either.
    Restart or reinstall?
Is a readable recovery DVDs when you try to start the recovery image installation?

  • Can I upgrade to Windows 7 on Satellite Pro L510

Hello. I recently bought a Satellite Pro L510.

It came with a program to upgrade Windows 7 with PSLFFL-002002 part number, which shows that they are eligible for the upgrade of windows to windows 7.

However, when my windows 7 cd came and when I tried to install it, there was a notice saying that my model is not eligible to upgrade to windows 7. When I referred to the given site 'http://support.toshiba-tie.co.jp/windows7/mlist_sp.htm' I noticed the L510 Satellite Pro series is not found in the list.

Later, I called the center of Contact from Toshiba for re - confirm whether or not L510 pro series can be upgraded to win 7, and the person told me to reformat my laptop to factory settings. He said that I should refer to 'http://pc.toshiba-asia.com/portal/public/win7/specs.jsp?model=proL510' instead in regards to laptops for the upgrade of windows.

However before I reformat my laptop I clarify / re - confirm L510 Satellite Pro can be upgraded to win 7. I don't want to reformat my laptop for nothing.

    Hope someone could help me.

    Thank you.

I don't know how it works in Asia or with Asian laptops but the fact is that all new laptops are designed for Win7 and I see no single reason for your laptop are not upgradeable to Win7.

Asian laptop models are not known to me, but I did not understand in your ad which OS came preinstalled as factory condition. Your laptop came with Vista pre-installed and you have upgrade you DVD Win7 or what?

AFAIK preinstalled Vista can be improved using Win7 upgrade DVD and after upgrade you must not activate it. It will be automatically activated.

So please be so kind and explain to us exactly what you want to do and how you want to do.

  • Satellite Pro P200-14W and WXP - no driver for PC memory controller

I installed Windows XP on the Satellite Pro P200-14W and installed all the drivers I could find on the Web of Toshiba site following the instructions provided.

I always have a controller memory PC that appear in hardware Manager who is not driver related to it.

My main problem however is that at random intervals (sometimes when you pull the power cable) the defects of the screen and turns into a mess of the desktop computer and the computer must be restarted because it does more. I tried several types of graphics drivers, but this does not stop the problem.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

If you have installed XP on this laptop Vista you must also update the BIOS to the version of Windows XP.
Seems that at this time it s a 5.00Win version of the BIOS.

To get rid of the yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager, you must install the
Flash Media Driver. This is the driver for your bridge Media Slot. This slot allows you to insert an SD card, Memory Stick (Pro) or xD picture cards.

    Good bye

  • Satellite Pro A110 crashes during the transfer of the large data in LAN

    Hello

My Satellite Pro A110 crashes during the transfer of the large data in LAN. The network driver is a Realtek RTL8139/810 x Family Fast Ethernet NIC I've been looking through this forum and found some wire whit exactly the same problem, saying that the solution is to update Realtek lan set up in BIOS, not the computer BIOS, but I can't find any link to download the necessary upgrade file. Can anyone tell me please where to find this upgrade file or send it to me directly?

    Thanks in advance

Is - this transfer of data in the company where you work? Do you want to download data from the server, or how to understand this? How to understand what you mean under big data?

Have you tried downloading data on the Internet? For example, if you try to download some trailer HD (more than 200 MB)?

  • How restore Satellite Pro L510?

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L510, I bought in February 2011, in Australia.
I had no problems with it up until I tried to run a wifi usb modem with Vodafone. It worked fine for a few months until a couple of weeks. It's the connection but not to open the pages. I've been to the Vodafone store and they have run tests and told me it's nothing wrong with the modem, but with the computer. They said that I need to restore? or get back them?

I have no idea how to do this... I did a backup via the "maintenance" menu system And then I did a restore via the advanced restore options, but he did nothing. Exactly, he went back to what he was doing before.
Is there another way to clean the computer?
