  The machines are beautiful and very effective, except for one problem: when the logout or shutdown Windows XP, the program called 'The Toshiba keyboard shortcut properties' does not stop automatically and opens a dialog "end program".   We noticed only after the installation of Service Pack 3 on all machines, so I don't know if the problem was present before SP3 has been applied.   Problems could be caused by Win XP SP3. I've read several times that SP3 could be not entirely compatible with drivers or 3rd tools
  So I guess there is a problem of compatibility between the exe and SP3 files.
  By the way; SP3 is not completely released and updated test!

  I installed SP3 for some tests on my old non-Toshiba laptop and my work LAN card didn't so it of really possible that SP3 causes this.

  It is clear that the thotkey and TFncKy files belong to applications that control the FN keys, SO if you would disable this in msconfig then buttons would not work.

  So, a solution might be a removal of SP3 System.

  I just got my Satellite Pro C660D back from repair (for a faulty fan), but the screen does not light when I start the laptop.

  Hi, just bought this laptop (5 days), the cooling fan is not turned off, the computer feels cool so don't know why it has run all the time. Read other articles on the upgrade of the BIOS but wouldn't go the upgrade in case missed me something obvious. It is a laptop replacement after the last Toshiba laptop (3 weeks old) no longer works in total.   I put t know how you use your laptop computer but try to please use it with balanced power management. Change coolant also option method of optimized battery option. Cooling method you can find in the power options advanced > Toshiba Power saver settings.

  Please check the BIOS for the following options:

  -Wake up on keyboard
  -Wake up on LAN
  Sleep - USB & Charge

  If you find these options, disable it in the BIOS. After that the laptop should stay in standby or hibernation properly. :)

  (1.) I m not 100% sure but I think the new BIOS for the M70 does not support the TPM secure. I read somewhere that all BIOS versions that support TPM on Toshiba laptops cannot be updated by a common user, but the user must contact the authorized Toshiba service provider for these updates.
  That's why I think that Toshiba would not any BIOPS version by download issue if this BIOS would support the TPM.

  2.) now something about the second question:
  The new BIOS version replaces the old BIOS and BIOS States and to my knowledge it of not possible to save the settings for a backup more later.
