Satellite Pro NB10 forced bug BIOS to PXE boot

Hello

I have the following problem with my NB10. (Bios 1.70)

No matter how to set the boot order in the BIOS it will always try first the PXE boot. As long as no cable-net is attached it's a minor problem as it jumps quickly PXE boot screen, but as soon as I plug a cable-net, it will get stuck to the PXE boot screen, until I press ESC. The only way to get rid of PXE boot is to disable the LAN entirely, which is not really a solution.

Bug: Not should always try before other options to boot from PXE boot with a higher priority.

Missing feature: should be possible to disable the PXE without disabling the LAN entirely. PXE boot can be a potential security risk, so it would be nice to turn it off when it is not necessary.

I filmed this issue and put it on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZsOc2ny3VQ

I replaced the HARD original with an SSD drive and installed Fedora 22 rather than Windows 8.1 - I don't know if any of these actions is the cause of tripping for this bug.

I replaced the HARD original with an SSD drive and installed Fedora 22 rather than Windows 8.1 - I don't know if any of these actions is the cause of tripping for this bug.

Of course, the BIOS does not recognize the boot (Linux) on the SSD drive partition and so the BIOS will automatically switch to the next (in the case of LAN) start device.

I wonder if the same question would appear using the real HARD disk and the image of Toshiba winning 8.1 pre-installed.
Can perform some tests?

  • Satellite Pro NB10 limited wifi connection

I use Satellite NB10 Pro with version 1.20 of the BIOS and windows 64-bit of 8.1. I have trouble with several times the limited wifi connection. When I remove the driver and reinstall it, it works again. Pilot already updated, but keeps same problem. Tried several Satellite Pro NB10 same problem. Any suggestions?

For most of the WLan connectivity issues are related to the IP attribute the problems.
Usually the IP address is assigned automatically using DHCP service.

In case this question would appear once again, you can try to refresh the IP address.
Start the console (black DOS window) using the command: CMD (type CMD in search)
Then use the command: ipconfig / renew

If this question would never happen again, I recommend you to reset the WLan router.

    > Satellite Pro L40 - how to make a dual boot with two recovery disks?
Short answer: you can't do that. Maybe if you have two hard disks (I tried didn't) but as much as I know your SP L40 has only one.
Ask this smart guy, how to do this. Maybe it's a useful tip.

    Hi all

Need to ghost several satellite pro a200 machines using a ghost network boot disk. When I use disk ghost provided by the ghost boot Wizard and no boot on PC back I get the message 'No Fast Ethernet PCI Adapter Found!' Serious internal error! (hardware works fine under XP/Vista)

I tried to boot from CD, Mem Stick and USB floppy with the drivers of toshiba and realtek without success, research on google seem to point to there needing to be a driver to interface with the cardbus / PCMCIA adapter - if it IS the case can anyone shed light on the fate of a pilot and how I could continue on this?

  • Satellite Pro S300 - 117 PSSB0E Bios Recovery disk?

Hi I have a Satellite Pro S300-117 PSSB0E-04J00UEN, and it seems that the BIOS was damaged when turned on the power lite 2 flashes green and 2 orange

I'm looking to be able to rewrite the BIOS using a usb floppy drive or usb key that emulates a floppy drive.

The problem is that I can not locate the file bios containing the bios Setup disk can anyone help?

I believe also that the press/hold button when you turn on the power is the one above the tab key but also saw other keys such as F, F, F12 FN and ~. If all the instructions would also be appreciated.

    Kind regards

    > The problem is that I can not locate the file bios containing the bios Setup disk can anyone help?

I could find a BIOS for this series on the Toshiba driver page we
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/support/JSP/downloadDetail.jsp?soID=2496404&PF=true

Zipped package contains the based victory and based back the version of the BIOS.
Unpack this package and read the readme.txt file

There you can find the details of the update of the BIOS using the diskette

  • Satellite Pro NB10 - A - 10 PU143E - how to install Win 7

    Hello

We recently bought the netbook above, that came pre-installed with Windows 8.1 pro.
I want to install Windows 7 on the computer.

Initially when I looked in the bios was not the option for the CSM,
So I updated the bios, and now I have the MSC option.

Unfortunately, there is still no option to toggle secure startup, so whenever I chose the csm, I am unable to perform a pxe boot.

Anyone know what I need to do. surprisingly, Toshiba said they would need to load if I get any help with this. I only bought the netbook last week.

Secure boot should be available on the Security tab

Here is a picture where this option is visible: [Pic1 | http://i.imgur.com/7I59ify.jpg]

  • Satellite Pro P200-15W: after Bios Update 1.90 incredibly noisy fan

Hi, I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro P200-15W, I recently made an update to BIOS version 1.9 and seems to have been a big mistake.
After restarting the computer, I had a lot of software deconfig and the fan has become incredibly noisy.

I have the problem with the Toshiba Vista registration software, I get this message: "registration of Vista has stopped working". I read other discussions, I don't want to just disable it in the start.ini file, I would actually solve the problem if there is a way.

Is there a way to change the configuration of fans? I read a post from Toshiba on another model of laptop that has had the same problem of noisy fans after an update of the BIOS, they gave that a solution with a new version of the BIOS, is there a way to reverse the BIOS to the previous version? (recovery CD will be useful for this purpose)?

    See you soon

    Edgard

    Hello

It seems that the picture of the fan was changed and renewed in the new version of BIOS, and so fans run fall.
Why the table fan has been changed?

Well, usually something like this is necessary to improve the reduction of the internal temperature while the CPU and GPU are running with maximum performance.
This helps to prevent the equipment from damage!

Usually, the recovery CD formats the whole HARD drive (partitions too) and installs only the image of Toshiba on the notebooks of HARD drive.
The image contains the OS, drivers and additional software and has nothing to do with the BIOS update.
But you can try to recover the laptop to see if you can solve the problems of software as "Vista record"!

If you want to reverse the BIOS, you will need to contact the ASP in your country!

Sorry, but all I can suggest.

    Best regards

  • Satellite Pro U500 - update the BIOS does not start on Windows 7

Try to update BIOS on Satellite Pro U500 PSU9CA. The download site says there is a new version available, after that download and run the program nothing happens. You can see the Winflash process in the Task Manager but it never appears"". If this has yet been tested by Toshiba?

There are no instructions, no readme or whatever it is.

Did somebody get the BIOS update?

    Hi torana.

As far as I know Toshiba always test their drivers or updates tools before they will be released and I have never had a problem with the new updates, so I think that the problem is lreated to your laptop, maybe something wrong with your installation.

In General before you start the update of the BIOS you have to decompress all the files in archive zip and launch the update as an administrator.
Also make sure that the value added package is installed and no firewall is not blocking the update program.

  • Satellite Pro A60 - update the BIOS without OS

I have a Satellite Pro A60, trying to install XP pro but says he needs the BIOS update, downloaded the new update, unzipped and that one file, will not start until no bootable files.

There is currently no OS on the laptop, I understand that I need an ISO file but where is she... !...

    Hello

Why you need to update the BIOS?
I doubt that XP installation says that you need to update.

Normally the update of the BIOS is a bit risky and must be that if she of really necessary. In addition the update of the BIOS can only be done from Windows. There is no DOS version, they available only authorized for service providers.

  • Cannot exceed on Satellite Pro L450D-12 X BIOS password screen

A friend gave me a laptop to watch. His windows password was not recognized. She asked me to perform a password reset. I tried to get into the BIOS to change the boot order and requested a password. My friend doesn't know the BIOS password.

Than trying to get into the BIOS, whenever I start the laptop, it always goes to BIOS password entry screen. How to start windows log on screen and he asks me the bypass BIOS password?

The laptop model is satellite pro L450D - 12 X

    > How to start the windows log on screen and he asks me the bypass BIOS password?
BIOS password is very important security feature and you cannot bypass so simply.
To be honest, to discuss this topic on the public forum is pretty crazy, isn't it?

Each notebook stolen with BIOS password would be easy to start and data would be not protected at all.

It is unwise to chat about it. In any case, BIOS password can be removed by only authorized personnel, so contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and they will help you with this.

  • Satellite Pro 4270: after update BIOS CPU speed at 250 MHz

    Welcome.

I have upgraded the BIOS to version 2.7 (downloaded on toshiba website) in Satellite Pro 4270 and after her, my bus speed decrease to 250 MHz, so now I have Celeron 250 MHz instead of 500 MHz. You have some suggestions? Where can I find the old version of the BIOS in v2.7?
    Thank you

    HI Artur,

Unfortunately, it is not possible to download an older version of BIOS on yout laptop since the BIOS update procedure is written to test later versions pre-installed and not too write.

You will need to take your laptop to a Service partner certified to have a previous version of the BIOS re-installed.

  • Satellite Pro A300 - should it BIOS for Intel virtualization technology?

    Hi all.

Any Satellite Pro A300 has BIOS option to enable or disable the Intel virtualization technology?
It is mentioned on this page: http://www.toshiba-europe.com/easyguard2008/EN/manageability.aspx

I have A300-01:00 (regular Satellite, not Pro), but its T5850 has not VT is supported, so there is no option in the BIOS. Wonder what is the difference between Satellite and Satellite Pro BIOS and can I try to use Satellite Pro A300 BIOS for my A300-01:00. Of course, I'm afraid I can't :(

    Thank you, Andy

    Hello Andy

As far as I know the BIOS is not a universal startup program and is suitable for specific hardware architecture. Because of this Toshiba doesn t offer a BIOS for several models of laptops.

If your laptop doesn't have virtualization option then there is nothing to do. Updating the BIOS will not help any.

The current bios to V5.20 do update to 2.60 - win 32 (vista) or win 5.60

    (B) Toshiba FAQ - FAQ ref: TRO0000000b07 shows how to upgrade the bios unfortunately it does not list the satellite Pro A200 - then what is the procedure - thanks in advance.

    Hello!

If you want to update the BIOS, you need version 5.60. Are the other version for Vista and 5,60 only one is for XP and if it s the right one for you.

The BIOS update procedure is quite easy. The update is based on Windows, which means that you can update it on Windows. So to extract all files from zip archive and run the exe file. Then updated your BIOS.
But before update you, close all programs running even your AntiVirus and firewall and connect the AC adapter.

    Good luck!
