Satellite Pro P100 - battery fails to recharge

Hello.

I have an old Toshiba Satellite Pro P100, a given model to nine, I got 2 years ago.
It has worked well since I got it, but I went overseas for a month and left my laptop at home.
When I got home, I found that the laptop battery is not recharging.

The battery on my desktop power indicator says 0% and requires a permanent connection to the network to work.
I looked in the manuals, they tell you that a flashing amber light means low battery, but not what to do if it does not change.
I also watched online, but they do not help either.

I want to know is if there is a way to fix my battery or if I have to buy another.

Thanx

Hello

It looks like a flat battery.
But check the connection of the battery first.

Remove the battery and shortly after connect again.
If this will not help then you should replace the battery and should test the laptop using the new battery.

Welcome them

On the web, there was some good number of reports that the P100 timestamp fails to keep the correct time.
Mine did this for a few months now.

I tried all the online recommendations such as bios update, etc with no luck and then also of changing the battery of the CCF.
I disassembled the laptop, (very easy if you use the instructions in "www.irisvista.com"), however I found unable to buy a new battery (battery ' green with plug-in lead and marked 0706).

I unplugged the battery for a few minutes and then plugged back, then re-assembled the laptop so I can use it until maybe I could get a new battery.

HOWEVER, the clock now works perfectly.

I remember reading on another post somewhere that battery temporariliy uplugging solves the problem, AND IT DOES.
If this happens again I will extend the battery leads to RTC outside in a place easy to access under a blanket where I can disconnect and reconnect the battery in a minute or two.

    Hello

Thank you for this information buddy.
I also read the thread on the topic P100 and clock.
Someone said that the technician ASP removed the CMOS battery and plugged again.
    This helped!

PS: I would not recommend disassembling the laptop, even if you have found some guidelines in the internet in my opinion, the risk of damage is too high. However, it s just my personal opinion.

  • Replacing the battery on Satellite Pro P100

Hi can anyone recommend a reputable provider in Britain of the batteries for Satellite Pro P100, is a PA3480U-1BRS 6000mAh. ?

People like DABS.com tried but they are always out of stock.

As usual, there are plenty of weird sites found on Google but I have never heard of them and they offer for most non-Toshiba clones which I do not know if they are all good or even compatible.

Ideally, I'll try to find a genuine Toshiba battery if I can

    Do Toshiba to provide directly?
Thanks to all those who can help you

    Graham

AFAIK, you can't order directly in battery Toshiba but each service provider authorized in the United Kingdom can get the original for you battery.
I recommend checking the Toshiba support page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads > find an ASP.

You can find the list of all FSA in the United Kingdom. Connect with some of them and look for information on replacing the battery, costs and delivery times.

    Bye and good luck!

  • Satellite Pro P100-327 (PSPA4E) - none follows her Win 7 clean installation

    Hello

I just clean installed Win 7 Home Premium (64 bit) on a Satellite Pro P100 - 327 (PSPA4E) which was bought in November 2006. He was previously under XP. I never installed Vista, even if the laptop is Vista Capable badge.

I followed the recommended order of installation of the bios/driver/software Win 7 but I have now no sound at all. Everything I've tried so far has failed to fix.

The laptop has a Conexant based with harman kardon speakers audio solution. Win 7 installed the following driver, which brings the info.

High definition Audio Device (Microsoft Driver version 6.1.7601.17514 as of 11/19/2010) and status of the device: this device cannot start. (Code 10)

    Hardware ID:

There is a second exclamation mark in device for a more Manager unknown device / uninstalled the device driver with an ID of ACPI\SMCB000 material (display code 28) but I don't know what is this device!

Anyone have any suggestions on a fix for my sound problem?

    Thank you!

    Martyn

ACPI\SMCB000 could be the infrared device.
Perhaps his need in order to use the remote control.

    I also looked for VEN_14F1 and DEV_5047
It seems to be the HDAUDIO Soft Data Fax Modm SmartCP of Conexant

  • Satellite Pro P100 - screen and sound problems after upgrade to Windows 7

    Hi all

I got my Satellite Pro P100 (model number is PSPAEE-00C006EN and the second digit of the serial number is '7') upgraded from Vista to Windows 7, and since then, some bugs seem to have had place - can someone help me on the following:

-L' screen DIMS increments, irrespective of the fact that I have saved my power settings to stay on FULL (battery or sector)

-No sound. Once or twice, the sound card worked and settings to say this works correctly (and you can see the movement of the graphic equalizer).
In terms of PC knowledge, I would be 5/10 (so not a dummy, but certainly not a pro! and we tried a lot of the more obvious things)

    Thank you all

    Hello

1.) if the screen dim option doesn't properly work, I recommend you to reinstall Toshiba Value added Package. This package controls these functions, the keys FN and others. Visit the Toshiba page for an update!

2.) did you check if the sound is muted if the equalizer work? In addition you can also try to update the audio driver might it work ;)

  • Blue boxes and Bluescreens when you feed up to Satellite Pro P100-438

    Hello

I own a Pro Satellite P-100-438 (PSPAHE - 001001GR). Yesterday, I tried to start a game, and shortly after, he froze, showed strange bluish rectangles and then a screen blue, followed by a reset.

Then the screen was full of blue shaded boxes in the nature of a grid as a layer of perfect finish. Even the start screen "Toshiba - contact tomorrow" has this box-grid layer.
From the login screen Vistas should appear, there is an another bluescreen: 0 x 00000050 Page Fault In Non-Paged area.

Now, I can only start the computer in safe mode.

I tried to restore the last configuration of windows work but that did not help. I tried to remove the display so drivers and fiddled with the parameter of startup in msconfig and at one point, I was actually able to get Vista running as usual without the blue boxes, but after awhile, I got another blue screen and since then, they have remained.

    Sometimes, there is an another screenshot as well: 0 x 00000116. nvlddmkm.sys - address 8C8149A0 base at 8 808000, DateStamp 4a9cdd24

And he said something 'Attempt to reset display driver and recover timeout failed.' as well.

    See these screenshots:

    Any tips or suggestions?

    Best regards

    Daniel

    Hi again,

last night I checked if the problem might be related to overheating. But now I think that's not the problem. I removed some dust, but it wasn't really much. Accidents still happen.

Regarding the graphics bugs: this is the kind of a grid of blue boxes. But this isn't a perfect grid. Only a grid on the screen. I have a photo I will upload tomorrow. When I move the windows under the grate, it stays in place. Everything as it was somehow in the surface of the screen.

Maybe if the graphics card is broken? It is not the RAM. I removed one at a time, and it is not related to it.

Somehow check whether the graphics card? It's a Geforce Go 7900 GS.

The laptop is a Satellite Pro P100-438 (PSPAHE - 001001GR).

If I bought a replacement graphics card, might be able to buy a better? They're much cheaper than three years ago. Or which would mean too much consumption and amount of heat energy?

What are the cards would work?

    Best regards

    Daniel

  • Satellite Pro P100: remote control does not not-> error ' cannot be read handle. ".

    Hello

My Satellite Pro P100 began to show the error "Failed to read handle." at startup. I found a related post and removed from the area of registry Toshibarc.exe control startup programs. This does not prevent the pop-up dialog box, but now my remote does not work.

Does anyone know if toshibarc.exe must run for the remote control work? And if so, how do I fix the error in the program (rather than simply removing from the register). Could this be a hardware problem?

If I try to manually run the C:\WINDOWS\SMSC\CIRHID\V1_0_0000_0\toshibarc.exe, I get the same popup "Impossible to get read handle.".

Thanks for any help or ideas
    Steve

After a long period of investigation in the internet and visit many Web sites, I discovered that the ToshibaRC.exe file belongs to the Remote Application from Toshiba. It seems that the file is required to use the remote on the laptop...
But I can't give you a reason why it causes an error.

I found this similar thread in the forum

  • Satellite Pro P100 - cannot boot from external USB DVD

My internal DVD player on my Toshiba Satellite Pro P100 failed, and my windows is broken.
So I bought an external DVD drive to boot from, so I can recover the system using the product recovery DVD.

Now, he actually goes ahead and starts from the DVD. But once in the setup it gives me the message: "ERROR: file Setenv.ini D:\Setenv.ini or X:\Tools\Setenv.ini not found!

So I went ahead and checked if the file was... it was... but it is on Drive E:\ (probably because it's a USB device I'm starting from)

-J' did some research and found that I needed to run the command: X:\tools\recogui /FE: say the recovery my files were actually on drive E:-which has helped a little... until I got a new error where it was always looking for the *. TPA file on drive D: eventhough I have via recogui had specified otherwise.

Now what do I do to understand everything is to the recoveryprocedure on drive E: and not D:, as he seems to think?

As I am in the middle of a period of review, quick response would be GREATLY appreciated :)

    Bad new boyfriend!
Boot from external DVD USB drive is NOT possible!

You can start only from the inside, ODD, HARD, LAN disk and external USB FDD (floppy)

  • Satellite Pro P100 - cable had burned down due to a faulty graphics card

    Hello
I have a problem with my Satellite Pro P100 where to win t start, including trying to restart without the battery.

I took it for repairers who managed to get it working again. They said a cable leading to the screen had to be replaced with requiring a General Service Officer, as it has been clogged up with dust.

However once I got it home it works ok, but when I tried to access the options for Nvidia graphics display an error message came upward, which suggests that I have maybe need to install a driver of cassis, which I did immediately and restart the computer the problem has reappeared, computer wouldn't boot.
I brought for repairs for the second time and they said the cable had burned down again because of a faulty graphics card and would cost a lot to replace.

If someone has had this problem, it is possible to have just the graphics card replaced without replacing the motherboard and it is likely that the motherboard is too damaged.

You will appreciate all the comments/tips

Strange, but I think that there is no other way to replace the motherboard.
The graphic card it s soldered on the motherboard if the entire motherboard must be exchanged.

I know that's not good news for you buddy but if the graphics card is faulty, it should be replaced. :(

  • Charging intermittently on Satellite Pro P100

Charging the battery intermittently, the screen flickers, mousepointer jumpy, Ko misses key hits.

Very often, when the connected power cord, my Satellite Pro P100 enters a State where all these symptoms are the nearby unusable computer. The battery in the change status bar icon also between the connected and not. And when it says connected, more often it's "connected but no charging current. The charge to the front LED changes between off and orange.

Even when he sleeps, the LED changes to orange wide and battery does not charge.

I think it is associated with heat, I can usually load by closing and wait a while.

Yes, I regularly check for the latest drivers and BIOS.

Can anyone suggest something to help me? Is this a warranty issue?

    > I have exactly the same problem in a P105-S9337. It is very annoying, any ideas anyone?

The user above posted some ideas; He said:

So as you can see, the battery should be checked. If it doesn't help then the problem must be bound to the hardware problem and in this case he should contact a Toshiba ASP!

  • Satellite Pro P100-438 game stuttering

    Hello world

I bought a Satellite Pro P100-438 (PSPAHE - 001001GR) with 2 GB of RAM in May 2007. I really took my time choosing the right laptop and the card game and the comments that I thought that it would be exactly what I wanted. As he had a numeric keypad, which is a must for me. I knew all the articles indicating that Vista would be detrimental to the performance, but I was willing to wait six months for driver issues and others to be decided. And a weaker performance in regards to a lower rate would not have been a problem.

Here again the stats of the platform:

    Core 2 Duo T5500 2 x 1.66 GHz - 2 GB RAM - 160 GB HD - DVD +/-RW DL - NVidia GeForce Go 7900 512 MB - USB 802.11abg 2.0/FireWire/Modem/LAN/WLAN / Bluetooth - DVI - 5 in 1 card reader (SD/MMC/MS/MS Pro/xD) - 17 "WXGA + (1440 x 900) TFT - Windows Vista Edition Family Premium Li-Ion-battery - 3,20 kg

Now the problem is that all the 3D games (such as BioShock or the by now old Deus Ex - Invisible war) stutter. The performance seems to be all right, rates are usually fantastic even with the highest settings, but there are approximately every 3 seconds a stutter. Reduction of the graphics settings is not to solve the problem.

There seems to be a lot of people with similar problems with this all-3-second-stuttering around. Usually, I'm really good at 'fix' these problems with my computers. It usually includes surfing the forums, try many drivers video, drivers modded, installation of patches or just waiting for a solution from the manufacturer. ;)

Nothing has solved the problem so far. Here is what I tried:

-Different drivers: those most recent Tosiba March (which is pathetic!) to the most recent available at www.laptopvideo2go.com
-Different audio drivers for the Conexant Audio device high definition. They screw out of speakers and output, so I had to go back to drivers of Toshiba.
-Vista updates: all the patches that are recommended in various forums and any other vista automatically updated
-DirectX 9 .0c updates. Some said this could help because my card does not support DX10 and therefore should use DX9. Makes sense to me. DX10 seems to graphics engine so advanced being of the same Vista does not use it. Well, it was without success.
-BIOS update. I got stuttering with the preinstalled BIOS and now I use the newest one which is 4.00 for my laptop. Did not help.
-Disabling Vista Aero. Do not remove the stuttering, but gave a better framerate. But 100 fps or 105 fps was not the issue.

Some people say installation XP would solve the problem, but it is not a viable option for me since I don't own a Windows XP license.

Now I can't think of another solution, and honestly I think that it is not my task to arrive at a solution. I spent about 1400 Euro on the laptop and I would like to have is a decent customer service and the problem resolved. And if Toshiba is not able to solve it they should at least be able to point the finger the cause of the problem. Right?

But now I still have some hope left. Maybe someone reading this found the solution to my problem and can give me a hint, because I'm always willing to try some suggestions. :)

    Can anyone help?

I think the problem is that the NVidia GeForce Go 7900 does not support the new DirectX10 but only the DirectX9.
The Vista operating system supports the new feature of DirectX10 and there might be a problem with the connection between Vista and Nvidia!

I noticed that this problem occurs only play games designed for Direct10X.

Like all the people here in the forum says, this strange game stuttering does not appear with XP installed.

    > Some people say installation XP would solve the problem, but it is not a viable option for me since I don't own a Windows XP license.
I really put t see any other possibility to get rid of this problem install XP! As already mentioned it's nothing wrong with the laptop but with the Vista OS.

By the way; Have you tried to use the latest graphic on sites like; drivers

I have a Satellite Pro P100 (P6PA4E-002001EN) with only 512 MB of memory and the desire to know if it can be increased and if so what memory should I buy and it is easy to open the machine and adapt?

    Hello

You can increase the memory on this laptop amazing plu of 4 GB of RAM.

RAM modules compatible that you can use to upgrade:
    PA3511U - 1 M 51 (Kit of memory 512 MB DDR2-667)
    PA3512U-1M1G (memory 1 GB DDR2-667 Kit)
    PA3513U-1M2G (memory 2 GB DDR2-667 Kit)

Check the underside of your laptop and there should be probably set with a cover of Ram screw. Remove it and you will have access to the memory locations.
