Hello

As far as I know the Satellite R630 supports USB 2.0
Only a few models support USB 3.0, but this should be replaced in the future.
Of my knowledge that the Portege R700 supports a docking connector which allows you to use a USB 3.0 controller.

Seems that you have to wait a bit if you want a laptop with a USB 3.0
But I think it's worse to wait because a maximum of 3 USB, 0-Port flow 2.5 times the speed of a USB 2.0 Port.

Of course, you will need to connect a USB device to USB 3.0 to get this performance

Welcome them

  • Can I use Satellite R630 with Netgear and Intel wireless display technology

    Dear all,

I am a user of a Satellite R630-105 (processor i3 M350). I would use this laptop with Wi - Fi on my plasma on the wall display. Recently, I heard about Intel wireless display technology connected to the Netgear adapter as a possibility for wireless connection to the screen.

Can I use my computer with this technology? If so, what is the process? If not, is there an alternative, using cable is very inconvenient. I'm at the beginner level.

Thank you very much, to come.

With other words you do exactly?

  • Satellite R630 - 11L - sometimes did not recognize the SSD drive

    Hi all

I have a portable Satellite R630 - 11L and I just bought a Corsair F120 SSD for her, but my laptop a few times did not recognize the SSD drive and fails to start occurs. I searched on the Internet concerning the issue, but there are any topic related to my problem. in recent days, I have updated my bios but the problem remains. for example if I put the computer to sleep and he never wake ups as it should be. the blue windows screen 7 failure comes and an error message 'could not access the windows volume. If portable succesful started without problem occurs until I reeboot the computer. so most of the time I have to restart computer about 5 - 6 times to work normal. At the same time, I opened a topic on the corsair website. They told me to test my drive on another computer, so I test it on laptops, dell and hp to my friends, but there is no any problem don't like this.

So I test my ssd on an another toshiba laptop R630 which has a different hardware configurations, the problem remains that laptop too...

So I think toshiba may provide a bios update to fix this problem. This laptop really great, so I don't want to buy another.

y at - it advice to solve this problem?

    concerning

    Hi machka,.

    > I think that here is the toshiba support forum. is not here?
Here he s a Toshiba forum, that of right, but you can only chat with normal users like you and me. You will not find someone from Toshiba here.
The forum is provided Toshiba but for Toshiba users to exchange experience on different products.

So I think that the Quad is just. No one can say that every SSD is compatible with all computers. You need to understand this!
There are hundreds of different players and computers on the market and I m sure that no one can test a new computer with all SSD on the market. This is not possible, because it takes a lot of time and more expensive laptops that I think.

So if the SSD doesn't work, there is nothing that you can wait for the BIOS update.
Otherwise, you must purchase another SSD. Alternatively, you can ask a service provider allowed in your country, maybe that technicians have already experience with some SSD in Satellite R630. Just ask for that, they are the first contact for you! :)

  • Satellite R630-13R - HDMI output only for the audio/video receiver?

I have the opportunity to play the DVD on my Satellite R630-13R with the release of his passing through the stereo jack to my amp, but now that I have to buy a new amp, I've been watching AV receivers that have the HDMI inputs and pass through the image.

I won't have a TV screen connected for a while (until what it comes to upgrade), but can I enjoy the HDMI sound transformed in the audio/video receiver in the meantime?

    Hey,.

Yes, you can use the HDMI connection to an AV receiver as HDMI transfer its too.

I found a thread similar to the receiving subject audio/video HDMI. Maybe it of useful for you also if you have any problems with correct configuration:

  • Satellite R630 - 11L refuses to turn on the backlight

I'm busy, having a glance at someone R630 - 11L who refuses to turn on the backlight. I am suspecting the lid sensor does not work correctly because the device also refuses to go to sleep if you close the lid. The only problem I have with this theory is that for the life of me I can't find the sensor.

Any ideas where it is located? Is there one on this model?

Sorry, but how do you mean with refuses to turn on the backlight?

Have you noticed all these problems with the factory settings, or you may have installed version of the OS?
With original preinstalled OS, everything should work fine.

As far as I know there must be some small hidden switch that controls all of these actions.

  • Satellite L500 with XP - where to find the display driver

    I have a new Satellite L500.
I installed XP and I can not find the display drivers.
The display is an ati mobility radeon hd 4500.

I found only the drivers for vista.
If a person has found that xp drivers?

    Hello

You are right. The European driver Toshiba page does not provide a Win XP drivers for this laptop yet.

But I think that you should not worry much laptops are equipped with the same GPU chip.
I recommend checking the previous series of Toshiba laptops and trying to install this driver.

In the worst case you will have to google a bit for a Win XP ATI mobility Radeon HD 4500 driver.

If you find such driver then you could install it in Device Manager by using the Advanced installation procedure. This will help you to point to the driver files that you have downloaded and stored on the HARD drive. This facility works almost every time

  • Satellite R630: USB stick recognized not always connected to Dynadock U10

    Hello

In the work we use laptops Toshiba Satellite R630 with U10 Dynadocks.

We recently started role on the Bitlocker encryption using USB flash drives.
The idea being that we will have two flash drives - one for when it is out of the office and the other who will stay plugged into the Dynadock for when at the office.

Many of our users have problems with the drive that is plugged into the Dynadock Windows does not seem to recognize at the start.
If we remove the drive from the Dynadock and plug it into the port on the laptop, then it works great.

Some of our users work great so its definitely possible for Windows read the Dynadock disc when starting, but for others it isn't.

    Any help appreciated.

    Hi all

I just tried to connect my Satellite R630 with my LCD TV with a HDMI cable. However, the image on the TV was not all screen, with the HDMI 1 port (my TV has 3 HDMI ports), there was still the black space of 1.5 inches.

I was wondering if there is anything I missed? The connection with the TV was very good with a good old VGA cable. Thanks for any advice.

  • Satellite M30-604: USB Port can not find the driver

    Hello

I keep having the same problem on my Satellite M30 604 when connecting to a USB device.
It does not really matter with this kind of device, the problem still.

Whenever I have insert the USB plug into one of the slots, my home XP keeps popping up the wizzard software.
Even with devices without drivers such as USB keys, it keeps bothering me and finally tells me that it cannot find the right driver.

If I try to install a printer, it installs the software found, but finally stops the operation because it can't find the driver (?). I don't know in what direction I should look at to solve this.

So if anyone can help me on this, I would be very grateful!
    Edwin

    Hello, Edwin

It's very strange because it is not necessary to install a USB driver and standard Microsoft USB driver should work well. I put t know if this can help, but please check this page

This fix is also part of the factory settings (recovery image on the delivered CD). By the way: your device is about three years old and it will be interesting to know since when you have this problem. Just for example: I have more Satellite 1900 with USB 1.0 and use USB keys and drive external HARD without any problem.

    Hello
This is my first post here - just got a satellite R630-144 and after complete installation, I tried to start inet via broadcom 802.11n adapter (which is a NVR).
The connection is stable - unfortunately only with max 65 Mbps. cannot find any point in the settings that allows to increase the bandwidth up to more than 100 Mbps.
    Can anyone help?
If there is no option to improve - anyone know how to change the map - Broadcom or how to open the bottom of the Satellite R630-144.

    Thanks for the replies

Maybe you should check the WLAN driver version first and install the most recent version of the Toshiba WLAN portal - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/

  • The Sansa View will work with USB 1.0?

I'm buying a Sansa View 8 GB as there are has exceptional offers out there right now.  However, I don't have USB 1.0 on my computer (in XP), can I use the Sansa?   I realize it load probably wouldn't work - I would just buy a power adapter.  I am concerned about the question to know if I can transfer files, etc.   If it's just the speed-, not a deal breaker.  If this is all simply does not work - a lot more thought will have to go into this purchase possible.

    Thank you!

Thanks for the reply!  I did go ahead and buy one with the Geeks - as they had a very good price.  It should be here tomorrow.  I also bought a power adapter.

I'll look into putting in a USB 2.0 card.  I had considered before but didn't know if it would support my motherboard.  Just getting worse - my mom has a new computer with USB 2.0 in the next room.

I've already knew the earbuds and have some that I had bought to replace the one my Zen.

  • OfficeJet 4500 Wireless - MacBook it installs with USB, but can't find it on the network

Help! I just bought a new MacBook (OS 10.6.4) and try to use the HP Officejet 4500 Wireless with it. I bought the printer a month or two ago and it has been implemented on my wireless (a Netgear - WNR2000 router) and works very well with my old iBook G4 and the Windows PC at home. My new MacBook is connected to the fine of the Internet, but when I went to use the printer, it seems to install ok, make settings IP etc. of the printer on the network, but it's not far past. He says that the printer is "unreachable" or some such nonsense and refuses to see it on the network. I tried both with and without the CD installation, and after you have uninstalled the software HP to uninstall and reinstall in the system of preferences--> Print and Fax settings. But he only sees the printer if I connect it with USB, which goes against the reason for which I bought it.

I ran the software update and it has found a new version of the software to download to the printer when connected via USB. But there seems to be no way to convince him to find the printer on our network wireless

    Any ideas?

    -Mary

Wow - I solved the problem. How ridiculous of a solution is that?

I saw a mention on another Board need to have a SSID for the network of less than 6 characters/letters to get the Mac to work with some other printer/router configuration.

So I tried here - since I had a network SSID of 7 letters.

    (1) I went in my screen to config the router and changed my SSID to one that was only four letters. I also took the static IP address for the printer, I had just set up (so for those of you watching at home, ignore my comment on this tactic, it was a herring!) leave the settings as they were before I ate with it.

    (2) I then restarted the router, the computer and the printer.

    (3) I first put in place the new SSID on Mac (change the SSID of the router to the old password only left, so it was just a matter of returning the password on Mac, when it entered into the 'new' network). I checked this by seeing in screen config the router if the Netgear now he showed in his list of connected devices (it wasn't before, and I was suspicious that he was some other weird problem, if the Mac has used the Internet very well). He did it!

    (4) then I used the front panel of the printer to go into Options--> Menu Wireless--> Setup Wizard and configure the printer again on the new name of the network SSID. Then I went to the Options--> Print the report--> Config network. It would therefore be to print a page giving the State of the connection confirming that it was the network.

    (5) then I went back for the Mac and use it again the screen of the router config I confirmed that now the printer was also showing up on top of the screen of connected devices (it wasn't before, now she and Mac have been listed!). Then I opened system--> print and fax preferences and tried to add the printer again. This time he finds immediately on the network (using the so-called Hello?), and since I already had the software update (using the steps suggested above) that she already had the correct printer software to use. Wireless printing fine now... After all this noise.

So, apparently, PrintDoc, you need to add a small little by this spiel you gave me above - to install a printer wireless on a new Mac with a working wireless network (at least one with a Netgear WNR2000 router), the SSID of the network should really be only a couple of long letters (4A worked in this case but not 7). Why, I have no idea. Ridiculous, like I said.

    Thanks anyway.

I hope this discovery helps someone else too!

  • Satellite R630 - software video capture need internal

    Help!

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite R630 with Skype installed.
The video part of Skype works perfectly fine, but I can't find a software on my laptop which allows me outside Skype to capture video recordings using the camera built into the laptop.

What should I do to be able to do this?
    Thank you. Len

    Hello

As far as I know in all programs-> Toshiba, you should find the software
If it is not installed, you can download this from the European driver Toshiba page.

After installation, the tool webcam control bar should be available at the top of the screen. Its slides and back in order to use it
Webcam tool control bar can be moved to different areas (top bottom-right left area)

  • Satellite R630-13F - RAM upgrade

    Hi all

My R630 is faced with a newly added software for Photoshop (CS5 version). Whenever it is quite slow to open and try to merge the picture for the economy.

I was wondering if I can upgrade the RAM. With a very limited knowledge, I would like to know if I need to buy an additional (if there is a vacancy for it), or I need to get one to replace the old.

I think increasing the memory to 4 GB, but I was wondering if it will be enough for Photoshop. Thanks a lot for any input.

    Best wishes

    Tim

    Hey Buddy,

RAM upgrade is not a problem because it is easy and can be done in a few minutes.

Satellite R630 has Intel HM55 chipset, and the maximum capacity is 8 GB. This means that you can install 4GB module in each memory location. Also an upgrade to 4 GB is not a problem, you can keep your 2 GB module and just buy a new 2 GB module. The module DDR3-10066 part number is PA3676U-1M2G.

If you have more questions just after, again :)
