Check if you did not disable yourself. I don't know much about your model, but usually you can do with fn + f9. On my laptop, it has a touchpad enable/disable button, to check your. Remove the usb mouse to check if it works, I know if you conncet the external mouse touchpad disable.

If is not always work, restore the factory settings. Otherwise, it may be a malfunction of equipment

  • Right-click Satellite L505-S5988 touch pad problems

I recently bought this laptop and for now what is the right click of the touch pad does not work for certain tasks.

For example if I wanted to do a right click on a link and open in a new tab I wouldn't in a position where if I wanted to save a picture by right-clicking it the usual menu options would not appear.

I don't know what the problem is.

If anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciated it. Thank you.

    Hello

Hmm. are you sure it s a touchpad problem
Have you tried the same thing using a USB mouse?

I think you should do this first of all maybe s a software problem (operating system)

  • Satellite M40X-189 - Touch Pad has stopped working

The touchpad has frozen. I rebooted the computer and the touchpad worked. This happened several times, and then by restarting does not clear the problem. I checked in the device several times Manager and sometimes the mouse was listed and sometimes it wasn't! I restored the computer to an earlier time when the touchpad was working but it does not solve it. An Agent from Toshiba offers the soft ware was corrupted and I need to save every thing and use the recovery disk to reload the software for the tablet. I'm not ready to do it again. Currently an ALPS pointing device and a compatible mouse HID are listed in Device Manager, and both are erroneously reported as working. Any other ideas on how to fix the touch pad?

    Hello

In my opinion, you should try to use an external mouse to see if it works again and again. Believe me on this path it is not easy to say why this happens.

There may be a hardware problem, but it must be tested. If you preinstall the unit with recovery CD unit will be clean and on this path, it is not possible to say that some additional software has any influence on that.

  • Satellite C50 - A touch pad no longer works

I bought a new laptop of C50 - A satellite but the touchpad has stopped working.

    Don't know what to do.

    Hello

The user Tom is right: the touchpad can be enabled and disabled by using the FN + F5 key combination (or F5 only in case of special function mode is activated)
In case this does not help, try to install the driver for the touchpad Synaptic and the Alps from the page of the Toshiba UE driver.

  • Satellite Pro L870 - Touch-pad suddenly stopped working

Hi - the touchpad on my Satellite Pro L870 - 18G (Windows 8) has suddenly stopped working (after less than 2 months use of)-which makes the phone rather difficult to use. There is nothing wrong with the driver - according to the Device Manager, but I tried to reinstall when even (did not help).
These things are not normally suddenly?

Why device manager says that there is no problem when there is a very clear?

Maybe the touchpad is disabled. Is there a any reaction when you use the FN + F5 key combination?

  • Satellite L505 - 144 Touch pad malfunctions

I am setting up this laptop for my wife and the Ouch pad does not work in one of two ways:
    1. the right button is unusable
Scrolling regions even if the game does not work
the zoom pinch even if the game does not work
The driver does not have any problem report, the most recent driver is installed and there is no reported IRQ conflict
An external keyboard and mouse works fine.

2 reference flashes as if the right button button has been pressed and will appear a menu contect
The keyboard and the external mouse seem to work
The left button and navigation with the ntouchpad seem to work

I took care to adjust the different sensitivity settings nd this does not change the behavior.

This problem seems to occure every 3 or 4 days when the lapto is used for 3 or 4 hours per day.

Re start the lap top, usually, but not always a solved the problem.

I got the lapt op for 2 weeks and it has not yet been seriously used.

I would be correct to regard this as meaning a hardware failure?

    Hello

I would like to know what operating system you are using. Original Windows 7 is pre-installed?

In any case, test the touchpad feature correctly. All these additional options should be generally affect on the functionality of the touchpad.

No one can say with certainty that the touchpad is defective and what we can do here on this forum to speculate what may be the problem.
In my opinion, you should contact the nearest Toshiba service provider, explain the situation and ask for help. They have diagnostic tools and can check the functionality of the touchpad.

    What do you think?

  • Satellite L510-S432 - Touch Pad has stopped working

    Hi all.

I bought this laptop last 2 weeks, it works well at first.

It was once I rebooted the system to reduce some startup programs through msconfig, the touchpad doesn't work. Before the restart, there is a tool bar showing on top there whenever door - press the 'Fn' and now he gone too.
However, the function "Fn" still work, where I still can control the brightness, the numeric keypad, and etc. through the fair. Fn Fn + F9 key that usually turn on/off the touchpad does not work.

I had reinstalled the synaptic driver, but still, it did not work. I had activated back all system startup that I had to close, it still does not.
I try to restore the system, but failed.

Need help, thanks first to all who help.

    Hello!

To me it sounds like that, the touchpad is simply disabled with FN + F9 and you will need to activate it.

I assume that you are using Windows Vista, then you need to reinstall the Toshiba value added Package. You can find it on the Toshiba site. This package is required for the FN keys and other special functions.
But before installing the new version, you need to remove the old version first.

An interesting thing: you wrote this system restore failed. What exactly do you have and do you have an error message?

    Good bye

  • Satellite Z830-10U - Touch Pad has stopped working

I have been using a USB mouse for a few weeks and touchpad is still operational. A few days ago the touchpad has stopped working. No issues are raised in the device manager that told me the power switch for the touchpad buttons. But by pressing the dedicated button and fn F9 has not changed anything.

Really confused, but think I'm missing something really obvious that I can not think an event trigger, so assuming that some magic button will bring the key back to life.

    All help gratefully received...

    Hello

What happens if you disconnect the USB mouse?
You can use the touchpad again?

From my point of view, the use or installation of an external USB mouse has affected the touchpad feature, I can't say with certainty why and what is happening right here, but I read in various forums on similar problems and sometimes caused USB mouse use touchpad problems.

For example: in my case the touchpad does not work with connected USB mouse I was very confused, but found a solution in my case the option disable touchpad when USB mouse is connected has been verified and this disabled the touchpad.

    You can find it here:
Control Panel-> mouse-> last (Advanced) tab-> the Advanced Settings button

One of my friends couldn't use the touchpad because it has been disabled in the BIOS.
It is worth to check also

  • Satellite P875-102 - touch pad / cursor freezes regularly for 2-3 sec

Very happy to get very new P75-102 Toshiba (Windows 7) - £1. 1 k - WAITED so it works well immediately the day 1 - from the box. Unfortunately, the cursor on a regular basis (either 5 - 6 times in a surf web minutes) hangs for 2 to 4 seconds. Everyone knows that with this very recent machine?

This has nothing to do with the speed / sensitivity settings - it is intermittent gel that makes use of the laptop really frustrating. The official troubleshooting says that the system could be busy - but I have nothing else running and the CPU usage is minimal, no surprise given the power to the computer. Help, please!

From my personal experience this could happen due to stressed CPU.
Even if you do not use a heavy performance, the NECK may be stressed due to the background processes that should be launched when the laptop starts
So I would recommend checking the processes in the process tab (CTRL + ALT + DELETE) Task Manager.
Here you can see which process stresses the CPU and can disable it if possible.

  • Satellite Pro A300 PSAGDE Touch pad and fingerprints fingerprint sensor problem

I have been runing Windows Vista on my Toshiba Satellite Pro A300 PSAGDE. Because my original Windows Vista key has been blocked I did a system recovery CD Toshiba vith XP. Everything work fine except the fingerprint sensor and the touchpad. Manager access suite said he couldn't connect with equipped and the driver touch pad in the taskbar icon shows but it seems to be inactive. The touchpad does not work even though I have pres FN + F9.

What should I do to save this problem.

Sory for my bad English, I just form Slovenia, I hope you understand.

Somehow the material is not properly recognized.
It will be interesting to see if the fingerprint sensor and touchpad may work with Vista preinstalled originally.
I think that Alex is right. Contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. They should check the functionality of the hardware.

    Maybe even a factory reset?

I don't know how to proceed.

    Hello

With regard to the problem of keyboard:

From my point of view of the few sounds of keyboard described as a material problem internal related dysfunction... probably in order to solve this problem, the keyboard should be replaced... just to make sure that your internal keyboard is affected, please join the external USB keyboard and check if it works properly.
If you see any problems, the problem is no doubt by a malfunctioning internal keyboard and as mentioned earlier, you will need to replace the keyboard.

    Regarding the touchpad:

I'm not sure if the two issues are interrelated, but the touchpad can be disabled by using the function keys... I recommend you to check this... (function key details are also in the user manual)... you can also try reinstalling the touchpad drive.

Tip: this forum contains many discussions about similar problems... so I recommend you to read the recommendations posted in this community.
