Satellite U300 falls down and cannot wake up from sleep mode

Hello

I got a Satellite U300 a few days and I get in trouble, when the laptop goes into sleep mode.
The thing is that when he goes to sleep, the screen turns off but the light stays on (blue), instead of flashing with an orange color.

It is not possible to wake the portable computer, and the only solution is to restart the computer.

I tried the different possibilities to enter sleep mode, and I get the problem mainly when the computer is in high-performance Vista and when you press the stop button in the quick menu.

I know Vista gives a certain a lot of problems, but I didn't know anyone here who face the same problem.
Should I send the laptop back to technical support?

Thanks in advance,

I had the opportunity to work a little with several laptops from Toshiba, and one of them was Satellite U300. After a brief check of the basic functions for laptop I can say with certainty that switch between mode and standby/hibernation mode work well and I didn't notice any problems.

I really don't understand what is wrong with that, but please do:
-If you want to switch to standby mode, choose option using the button START.
-Wait a bit and I hope after a few seconds, the laptop will change automatically in standby mode (blinking amber LED)
-Close the cover
-Wait a moment opened the lid and press the power button
I really hope that your laptop will start correctly and you will be able to use the OS again.

Good bye

I've had this laptop for a little over a week and when it goes into mode 'sleep' trying to wake him up, all the lights on the keyboard lights up and I hear it works but the screen remains black. I updated display drivers and that fixed it for a few days but now it stopped working again. updated audio drivers would force it to not wake from sleep mode kos that he worked well, since I've updated the display driver and then yesterday I updated audio drivers and he returned to not wake up once again in mode 'sleep'. any help much apreciated.

Updated the BIOS and update the driver to display again.
Maybe the after the audio driver that something was wrong, you can clean the registry using CCleaner in most of the cases it s a good idea.

  • laptop won't wake up from sleep mode

laptop won't wake up from sleep mode

    Hello

    Here's the quickfix.

Set the laptop to sleep instead of Hibernate. Portable computers may have problems with the Hibernate function. Here are the instructions to navigate:

    1. go in Classic view of Control Panel. (Ctrl + ESC, then type 'control' to quickly control panel access)

    2. double-click on the icon power options

    3. click on "change when the computer sleeps.

    4. click on "change power avancΘs."

Go to the menu of sleep and

    value "Allow hybrid sleep": OFF

    * Set the parameter "Hibernate after": NEVER

Note: You need to type the following in the field, what is not there drop down to select.

This is most likely the issue and the resolution. However, here are a few other troubleshooting steps if you have any questions:

  • Connect button on Windows 7 that SOMETIMES appears to wake up from Sleep Mode, sometimes goes right on the desktop

Hello.  Suddenly, from this morning or perhaps yesterday (April 15), when I click my mouse to wake up my new Windows 7 Inspiron PC from Sleep Mode, a Windows login, button began to appear is no longer for me to need to click.  Only a few minutes ago, when I woke up my PC by clicking my mouse, the button HAS appeared!  Does the show button only SOMETIMES, as every time the PC is asleep (hibernation?) for a SHORT time or long?  I'm puzzled about why this behavior started all of a sudden. Initially, he always showed the button - but maybe it's because as a first step, maybe I had waited long before going to my PC to wake him, don't know.  This new variable behavior could be linked to the 12 April Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework which perhaps has not taken effect until a subsequent Restart, that maybe, I did last night or this morning?

    Thanks for the ideas.

    Hi Evelyn,

This problem is perhaps due to the power settings on your computer. Ensure that requires a password on the alarm clock is set. See the following steps.

    1. Click Start, and then click the power Option.
    2. Choose several power supply options. In the Power Options window.
    3. Click on request a password for reactivation.
    4. Save changes and check.

If the problem persists, run the power Troubleshooter and check. Check out the following link.

Intermittently, have been left for a while my screen A100-049 remains empty when reactivated from sleep mode. It does not meet the access keys and have checked the settings which seem to agree.

    Hello

What do you with the mode 'sleep'? Do you mean the hibernation mode or the mode booth? What operating system do you use?

Listen buddy. It's really not easy to say why it happens without running diagnostic tests. I think you should try to update the graphics driver and check if you are using the latest version of the BIOS. Two updates might be useful in resolving these issues

  • Satellite M70-394: WLan does not work after wake up from sleep mode

    Hi all...

I have a problem with my WLan connection and hope that one of you may be able to help. From my computer is turned off, it is not a problem with the WIFI connection but if I put the computer to sleep by closing the lid and then restarting it from there the led lights up briefly to wi fi but then and is the only way I can connect via a cable.

Any suggestion would be appreciated gratefully.

    Hello

What happen exactly when you open the lid? Generally, the WLAN light should be on and after 20 or 30 seconds, the WIFI network should work again.

I recommend you to check the FN + F8 key combination to see if WIFI is always enabled. Alternatively, you can try to install the latest version of the WLAN driver.

  • cannot wake up from sleep - reboots

Hello. Do not kno0w under which category of this post. 01/22/13, I got a message from the HP Support Assistant to let me know that he did not have a BIOS upgrade. He installed it. I restarted and several trials, I had a hard time getting into Windows. But that finally works. Remains a problem: when I wakeup the laptop from sleep, it hangs on the prior login screen. When I press ESC, it restarts and then it logs in fine. I've updated my video driver, but that did not improve the situation. Others say it has to do with the SAM file. Why it find during its reboot?

It has updated BIOS Insyde F.48. It's another point: how to restore the previous version of my BIOS. I don't know what that was before and how to get it back.

Here is my info: HP laptop g6-1b60us, with AMD's Radeon HD 6480 G. Running Windows 8 64-bit Pro.

    Would appreciate your ideas.

Maybe that's a problem with this update of the BIOS. Here is a link to the previous BIOS: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-102727-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=4132&product=5128908&sw_lang=

Just download and run that file and it will roll back BIOS to the previous version. Try and let me know if it helps.

all the drivers are up to date.
no idea why they don't work after the release of the mode not sleep? It is very frustrating as I have either stop whenever I'm done with the computer, or reset when it comes out of sleep mode.

Oops, ok, so I disappeared for a bit there.

Yes, I tried that as well.
OK, so, this weekend, I flashed my bios. and that seems to have solved the problem (woohoo)
for anyone else reading this, if you are not very savvy with computers, I would say DO NOT Flash your BIOS, but find someone who knows a little about computers to do it. If you do not Flash your BIOS correctly, it can damage your motherboard

    Monitors: DELL 2407WFPHC x 2

Updated graphics drivers to the latest version non-beta.

    Hello

Since buying my PC a few months ago, it has been one of the ' display' problems after another. This is the current problem:

When executing step by step away from my computer, I block via Win + L and shortly after that my monitor turns off. When you return a few moments later, I try to wake up to the top (but not really "wake up"...) To try to solve the problems of previous display, I already disabled hibernation options and sleep) my computer by moving my mouse. This causes monitors leave standby mode and be able to raise but what is dispalyed is black screens when I should have been introduced to the login screen.

Mouse clicks and keyboard do nothing and I'm stuck at black screens. To continue, I press the power button on my PC causing the hard drives to spin-up and shortly after the computer turns off. I press the power button and start the computer to the login screen where as soon as I get my password, Windows loads and all my programs etc appear like they were before I blocked my PC.

You can see previous problems, I had the list below, if all goes well they will help you to detect the cause of the current problem.

    Help, please.

    Thank you!

    Peter

    Previous problems I had:

    (1) when the awakening from hibernation, the computer would not wake up screensavers leaving no way for you to connect and save your work. Hard reboot needed. Solution: Disable hibernation Windows features.

    (2) error in the sense of "driver has no display and recovered." Possible solution: disabled hardware acceleration in Firefox.

    (3) when waking from sleep, I find that my 2 monitors have merged into one and a different resolution than usual. Once entered password to connect, programs that were on separate monitors are now on the same monitor. Right click on the desktop and selecting 'Screen Resolution'-> 'Detect' would set monitors to return to normal until the problem recurs. Possible solution: updated graphics driver. Don't know if this problem has been corrected, it may have just been concealed by the new problem mentioned above.

Thanks, but the steps above had no effect.

However, during a windows update, my graphics card driver has been restored and that seems to have stopped the problem.

Unfortunately, again I see apps that were on two screens before lock/standby, appearing on the screen even after release sleep/wake. So far he did not often so we'll see.

  • Alienbware X51R3 with S2716DG from Dell doesn't wake up from sleep mode

I recently bought a new Alienware X51R3 and Dell S2716DG Monitor. The PC happened a few weeks earlier from the monitor, and the system worked very well (and wake up from his sleep normally) on the old monitor.

After setting the new monitor (executed in a single monitor configuration) on the display port, the PC is no longer waking up from his sleep. I tried to update the driver for the monitor and turning off the monitor 'Deep sleep' works without success.

It worked fine with the previous monitor so I think that the monitor is most likely the culprit but haven't found a solution or work around yet. Power off the PC everytime I walk away from it or disabling sleep seems completely unnecessary.

The Dell Support program help hard locks - the PC every time I launch...

After a little violin, I was able to adjust the settings for PCI Express Link State Power Management from the command line with:

    powercfg 381b4222-f694-41f0-9685-ff5bb260df2e 501a4d13-42af-4429-9fd1-a8218c268e20 ee12f906-d277-404b-b6da-e5fa1a576df5 0

Will test the sleep options and report.

Nothing wrong with the operating system.
