I recently bought a new Alienware X51R3 and Dell S2716DG Monitor. The PC happened a few weeks earlier from the monitor, and the system worked very well (and wake up from his sleep normally) on the old monitor.

After setting the new monitor (executed in a single monitor configuration) on the display port, the PC is no longer waking up from his sleep. I tried to update the driver for the monitor and turning off the monitor 'Deep sleep' works without success.

It worked fine with the previous monitor so I think that the monitor is most likely the culprit but haven't found a solution or work around yet. Power off the PC everytime I walk away from it or disabling sleep seems completely unnecessary.

  • MacBook pro freezes for 5-10 minutes everytime I wake up from sleep mode?

Since the upgrade to Yosemite, my macbook pro goes to the loading screen grey which usually appears when opening my laptop after that he almost dies everytime I wake up from sleep mode. It freezes on this screen for a few moments, and then when I get to my normal screen, it continues to remain frozen for an extra few minutes. The mouse will not work until a "Set up Bluetooth keyboard" menu appears, then disappears. The problem has persisted through several software updates. I searched endless forums and topics, but none seem to match my problem. Can anyone help?

I tried a n y t h i n g for a few months, revisiting the forums etc. The message in the system log, leaving the "driver GPU seems to be suspended. Does my Mac Pro completely unworkable. It was a software problem because it does not occur in safe mode. Now I just went down to the Mavericks and the problem is completely resolved. I can use my computer again.

laptop won't wake up from sleep mode

    Hello

    Here's the quickfix.

Set the laptop to sleep instead of Hibernate. Portable computers may have problems with the Hibernate function. Here are the instructions to navigate:

    1. go in Classic view of Control Panel. (Ctrl + ESC, then type 'control' to quickly control panel access)

    2. double-click on the icon power options

    3. click on "change when the computer sleeps.

    4. click on "change power avancΘs."

Go to the menu of sleep and

    value "Allow hybrid sleep": OFF

    * Set the parameter "Hibernate after": NEVER

Note: You need to type the following in the field, what is not there drop down to select.

This is most likely the issue and the resolution. However, here are a few other troubleshooting steps if you have any questions:

  • Connect button on Windows 7 that SOMETIMES appears to wake up from Sleep Mode, sometimes goes right on the desktop

Hello.  Suddenly, from this morning or perhaps yesterday (April 15), when I click my mouse to wake up my new Windows 7 Inspiron PC from Sleep Mode, a Windows login, button began to appear is no longer for me to need to click.  Only a few minutes ago, when I woke up my PC by clicking my mouse, the button HAS appeared!  Does the show button only SOMETIMES, as every time the PC is asleep (hibernation?) for a SHORT time or long?  I'm puzzled about why this behavior started all of a sudden. Initially, he always showed the button - but maybe it's because as a first step, maybe I had waited long before going to my PC to wake him, don't know.  This new variable behavior could be linked to the 12 April Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework which perhaps has not taken effect until a subsequent Restart, that maybe, I did last night or this morning?

    Thanks for the ideas.

    Hi Evelyn,

This problem is perhaps due to the power settings on your computer. Ensure that requires a password on the alarm clock is set. See the following steps.

    1. Click Start, and then click the power Option.
    2. Choose several power supply options. In the Power Options window.
    3. Click on request a password for reactivation.
    4. Save changes and check.

If the problem persists, run the power Troubleshooter and check. Check out the following link.

  • mouse and keyboard do not work once the computer wakes up from sleep mode

    running Win7 64 bit

    Processor Intel core 2duo

    ATi Raedon 4800 series gfx
all the drivers are up to date.
no idea why they don't work after the release of the mode not sleep? It is very frustrating as I have either stop whenever I'm done with the computer, or reset when it comes out of sleep mode.

Oops, ok, so I disappeared for a bit there.

Yes, I tried that as well.
OK, so, this weekend, I flashed my bios. and that seems to have solved the problem (woohoo)
for anyone else reading this, if you are not very savvy with computers, I would say DO NOT Flash your BIOS, but find someone who knows a little about computers to do it. If you do not Flash your BIOS correctly, it can damage your motherboard
  • Satellite A500-18 x - don't wake up from sleep mode

I've had this laptop for a little over a week and when it goes into mode 'sleep' trying to wake him up, all the lights on the keyboard lights up and I hear it works but the screen remains black. I updated display drivers and that fixed it for a few days but now it stopped working again. updated audio drivers would force it to not wake from sleep mode kos that he worked well, since I've updated the display driver and then yesterday I updated audio drivers and he returned to not wake up once again in mode 'sleep'. any help much apreciated.

Updated the BIOS and update the driver to display again.
Maybe the after the audio driver that something was wrong, you can clean the registry using CCleaner in most of the cases it s a good idea.

  • VISTA DOESN'T WAKE UP FROM SLEEP

I RECENTLY REINSTALLED VISTA. AND THE PROBLEM STARTED THEN ONLY.

I HAVE VISTA ULTIMATE ON MY LAPTOP. WHEN I CLOSE THE LID, IT WILL "SLEEP" FASHIONABLE AND ALSO WHEN I PUT IT ON THE MODE "STANDBY" MANUALLY, HE DOESN'T WAKE UP AS I OPENED THE LID. BUT MY SLEEP MODE INDICATOR HAS DISAPPEARED, BUT HE DOESN'T WAKE UP. AND AS LAPTOP SOUND FAN HEATER DOES NOT WORK.

We have no idea why you need to reinstall Vista.

You had then some serious hardware problem that would not have been solved by a reinstall of Vista

Go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer/laptop > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > look for the latest Vista drivers > download/install them.

    Hello

Since buying my PC a few months ago, it has been one of the ' display' problems after another. This is the current problem:

When executing step by step away from my computer, I block via Win + L and shortly after that my monitor turns off. When you return a few moments later, I try to wake up to the top (but not really "wake up"...) To try to solve the problems of previous display, I already disabled hibernation options and sleep) my computer by moving my mouse. This causes monitors leave standby mode and be able to raise but what is dispalyed is black screens when I should have been introduced to the login screen.

Mouse clicks and keyboard do nothing and I'm stuck at black screens. To continue, I press the power button on my PC causing the hard drives to spin-up and shortly after the computer turns off. I press the power button and start the computer to the login screen where as soon as I get my password, Windows loads and all my programs etc appear like they were before I blocked my PC.

You can see previous problems, I had the list below, if all goes well they will help you to detect the cause of the current problem.

    Help, please.

    Thank you!

    Peter

    Previous problems I had:

    (1) when the awakening from hibernation, the computer would not wake up screensavers leaving no way for you to connect and save your work. Hard reboot needed. Solution: Disable hibernation Windows features.

    (2) error in the sense of "driver has no display and recovered." Possible solution: disabled hardware acceleration in Firefox.

    (3) when waking from sleep, I find that my 2 monitors have merged into one and a different resolution than usual. Once entered password to connect, programs that were on separate monitors are now on the same monitor. Right click on the desktop and selecting 'Screen Resolution'-> 'Detect' would set monitors to return to normal until the problem recurs. Possible solution: updated graphics driver. Don't know if this problem has been corrected, it may have just been concealed by the new problem mentioned above.

Thanks, but the steps above had no effect.

However, during a windows update, my graphics card driver has been restored and that seems to have stopped the problem.

Unfortunately, again I see apps that were on two screens before lock/standby, appearing on the screen even after release sleep/wake. So far he did not often so we'll see.

  • Satellite U300 falls down and cannot wake up from sleep mode

    Hello

I got a Satellite U300 a few days and I get in trouble, when the laptop goes into sleep mode.
The thing is that when he goes to sleep, the screen turns off but the light stays on (blue), instead of flashing with an orange color.

It is not possible to wake the portable computer, and the only solution is to restart the computer.

I tried the different possibilities to enter sleep mode, and I get the problem mainly when the computer is in high-performance Vista and when you press the stop button in the quick menu.

I know Vista gives a certain a lot of problems, but I didn't know anyone here who face the same problem.
Should I send the laptop back to technical support?

    Thanks in advance,

I had the opportunity to work a little with several laptops from Toshiba, and one of them was Satellite U300. After a brief check of the basic functions for laptop I can say with certainty that switch between mode and standby/hibernation mode work well and I didn't notice any problems.

I really don't understand what is wrong with that, but please do:
-If you want to switch to standby mode, choose option using the button START.
-Wait a bit and I hope after a few seconds, the laptop will change automatically in standby mode (blinking amber LED)
    -Close the cover
-Wait a moment opened the lid and press the power button
I really hope that your laptop will start correctly and you will be able to use the OS again.

    Good bye

  • Satellite Pro L650 doesn't get often from sleep mode

Hi, I have a Satellite Pro L650, model No.: PSK1KA-00Y01E running Windows 7 64 bit.
This laptop does not pick up often after mode "Eve".

Can anyone offer suggestions on how to fix this?

    What's happening:
When the computer sleeps, either by pressing the sleep button, or by closing the lid, this seems to work very well.
After a minute or 2, I try to get the computer goes through the lid opening, or by pressing the power button. Sometimes, it works correctly.

Most of the time the lights white led at the front displays for a few seconds and then started. Then, press us the power button and, often, the computer starts and says that Windows has been shut down incorrectly and then completely restarts for a new session.

Sometimes the computer does not start, and it must cut off the power, then press the power button, which then crosses a full restart of the computer for a new session.

A few weeks ago, we installed the latest version of the bios (2.20), and the problem persists.
Is it a driver problem or a hardware problem?
If it is a driver problem, what drivers should I try to install?

    Thank you
    Graham

    Hello

    > After a minute or 2, I try to get the computer goes through the lid opening, or by pressing the power button. Sometimes, it works correctly.
This means that this problem is not always, but sometimes only and it of not possible to replicate this.
In this case is not easy to find a good solution for this

    > We have installed the latest version of the bios (2.20) a few weeks ago, and the problem persists.
    > Is it a driver problem or a hardware problem?
In my opinion, it could be a software problem. I mean that the problem could be related to corrupt the OS Win. Maybe the registry is confused upward. Usually, if the laptop is in hibernation / sleep mode, by pressing power button should the reactivation of the system in this mode and not shut down the laptop.
So maybe this is s question OS

If I understand your message, you have just updated the BIOS but didn't try the recovery procedure. Well well, for checking if the problem hardware or software s, you should get the phone to the factory settings.

  • Windows Media Player 12 on Windows 7 stops working after recovery from sleep mode

I have problems to make Windows Media Player 12 to run correctly after a system sleep (standby). It works very well after the maximum boot and for as long that the machine is not going mode sleep. It is only a problem with Windows 7 and Media player 12. All other Win 7 applications seem to work correctly. The system also works very well for Vista/Media player 11.

I installed my upgrade Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 as a new installation on a separate hard drive. This problem exists right after installation - no other software not added. I then installed all the updates MS available and the problem has not disappeared. I installed the OS a couple of times (including a copy of Windows 7 Professional x 64) on another hard drive too and the problem remains.

Media Player 12 works perfectly until the system goes into sleep mode - either by itself, or manually. When it resumes, Media player launches, but when you try to play something, he will only play the first couple notes of music and then freeze. Same thing with videos - it will get the first couple of frames played, and then hang. If you continue to stop and restart Media Player, eventually it will be totally suspended and after a few minutes the error "Server execution failed" message. At that point in the Task Manager, wmplayer.exe will consume is a complete base my Quad CPU (25%), do nothing. Sometimes, you can kill the process and take control of the back of the PC. Other times it crashes completely and the only thing you can do is to shut down the PC.

Media Player 11 under Vista Home Premium x 64 on the same PC works fine. I was never able to get Media Player 12 in Windows 7 to work properly after a standby/on standby. If I reboot, everything works fine so it seems to be that something related to a problem of sleep/recovery.

HP supports suggested restarting the service WMP network sharing.  That has not helped, but if I stopped and set to manual start, Media Player would play the sound/music but not video of several tests.  But if I stopped and began to WMP 12 a few times more the problem returns.

Well after working with the help of HP for several days, it seems to be something between the video card and card mother / BIOS between them.  At start-up, everything works well, but after the exit mode ensures, hardware diagnostics show a failure of local video memory.  Media Player is finally touched by it.  Doesn't a lot of sense to me that this does not happen under Vista, Win 7.  You have to return the PC to HP for diagnosis/repair.

  • Presario CQ56-115DX: cq56-115dx windows 10 not wake up from sleep mode

My CQ56-115DX upgrade Windows 10 fine and for ovaer a week is fine.  And then after a few updates wonderful Microsofts that he wakes up mode not sleep.  Tried to remove the battery, F8, repeated restarts, insert in WIN 7 recovery disk and even the original hard drive hoping that it would get better.  He did not.

I'm afraid that the BIOS is damaged.  How can I change the BIOS when the machine will do nothing other than the without wire lights up red, cap lock flashes blue and the cd drive growls but does not start the disk in it?    I've used up all my tricks and need for a new approach.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

I had once with a different system and it is solved with a hard reset.   First, remove the battery and unplug the power plug.  Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Reconnect to the electrical network (leave the battery for the time) and press the power button.   Windows should now start normally...

    Hello

I was wondering if someone can help me,

I have problems with my brand-new Satellite U300.
When it comes into sleep/hibernation mode I can't have to reactivate.

The power led remains blue. In the order of UDE the laptop I have to turn the power off completely and then re-boot.

How can I stop this from happening?

    Thank you

    Hello

I think you should try to update the BIOS.
On the European driver Toshiba page, you will find compatible drivers and BIOS.
Then first try to update BIOS and then check if it helps.
