Satellite Z930 - cannot write on USB

I have a problem to write any file on a USB key into a USB port on my Z930 satellite with Windows 8: when I try to write a file on the USB Explorer will just freeze and unresponsive.
During playback of the same USB all right. There is no protection against writing on the USB (I have tried many).

However, when you connect a USB hard disk there no problem to write information on the hard drive.

I hope someone could help me solve this mysterious problem...

Have you tested the laptop in another flash USB memory key?
I suppose that this isn't problem associated with s for computer laptop USB port since the connected USB device is recognized properly. Also the USB HDD works properly so I doubt that its number of portable or system

    Hello

USB 2.0 drivers are part of the service pack Ms.
You must absolutely install MS all service packs. I recommend that you install SP2 and then all the updates Ms.

    Check the MS document:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/329632

In addition, you must install all drivers Toshiba from this site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU

There is a Chip Set Utility, which is very important.

I have problem with my DVD player... I can't burn DVD-DL discs (DVD + DL too).
I'm looking for a firmware for my drive.

Toshiba Support I can find firmware for Pioneer and Toshiba (TSSTCorp) readers only.
LG says that Toshiba has new firmware.

    Hello

I checked the page European driver of Toshiba and find tree updates different firmware for TS-L632H and TS-L632P and TS-L632, but there is no update for LG GSA-T20N.

If you are not able to burn data to discs double layer, then you should try different brands.
AFAIK that should your user manual contains some details and information taken in charge and compatible discs.

  • Satellite Z930 - USB driver missing

    Satellite Z930-13N

USB driver type by Intel xHCI shows the following error message:

"This device does not work properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31) »

Anyone can shed some light on it with a solution?

I looked on the TEMPRO Download Center but could not find a driver for my PC with Windows 8.

    Thank you

According to specification for laptop, your laptop computer came with preinstalled Win8 64bits. Recovery image contains all the necessary drivers so I m wondering how one driver may be missing.

Have you installed a clean version of the OS?
USB 3.0 driver is preinstalled on your laptop? If you can't find it for your test of Satellite install for Portege Z930.

  • Satellite C50D-A-133 with Win7 - cannot install the USB 3.0 driver

I Satellite, C50D-A-133 with Win 7 x 64 and cannot install the usb 3.0 drivers.
I download the driver from the support site of toshiba for usb 3.0 for win7 x 64 and it starts to install the driver, but in the end it saids...
Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an erroe trying to install it.
    AMD USB 3.0 host controller
The system cannot find the specified file.

I try to point the location of the driver but same error.
Other drivers installed ok only gives error

I ve downloaded and unzipped the driver and everything seems OK.
As far as I know laptops equipped with platform AMD isn't chipset driver and after installing display driver must be installed USB driver.

Try to download it again and start the installation manually.

  • Satellite Z930 - suspend the problem with connected USB hard drive

    Hello

    Owner of a newly acquired Satellite Z930-15 X, I have a few questions/problems:

    1) suspends the work of RAM and good hibernation when there is no external hard drive connected. If there is one is connected, the laptop immediately returns back to suspend state. Is there a solution for this?

    (2) is there a way to selectively disable Bluetooth? Currently, only toggle airplane mode is available (with Fn + F8 or Windows 8 charm bar). This activates / deactivates the Wi - Fi or Bluetooth I think.

    (3) the portable computer is wobbly on reception. I put a bit of thin paper at the corner of a bottom (bottom left) so that it can be stabilized. Apparently, the problem is also mentioned in another thread. Is there a suggestion to fhix this problem?

    Thank you.

1 / what HARD drive is connected to your laptop? When I use the external 2.5 HARD drive with my Satellite U940 I n t have problem.

2 / I ve tested it on my machine and I noticed the same thing. When WIFI is disabled software BT is off too. I didn t find a way how to separately control adapter WLAN and BT.

3 / I think that this issue needs to be clarified with Toshiba service. They must check and perhaps exchange rubbers inside.

  • Satellite Z930-12Z - add RAM and replace the SSD

    Hi all

I'm new here and read some articles also on the Z930-12Z Satelite but I have two questions on the Satellite Z930-12Z:

    1. What is the maximum RAM for Satellite Z930-12Z? There are two locations inside or accommodation?
I read this blog, but I don't understand if there are two slots or a slot...
    https://Forum.Toshiba.EU/showthread...Llite-Z930-12Z

    2. could I change the SSD? Is there a maximum GB for SSDS for my Ultrabook? No matter what SSD I install?

    I had these SSDS:
    2.1 Kingston SMS200S3 / 480 G SSD 480 GB (6.4 cm (2.5 '' mSATA)
    2.2 MZ-M5E500BW Samsung SSD 500 GB (mSATA)

No matter what SSD I install?

    Thank you in advance!

    Rebecca Bugday

Two DIMM slots with 16 GB support apparently. You won't need 16 GB. Take a set of 2 x 4 GB RAM dual channel, I'll leave a link to a few good things that I use for my cell phone 16 GB

    http://www.ebuyer.com/646124-HyperX-...1779&PKW=&Pmt=

Also, Yes, of course, you can change the SSD, you will need to get some kind of USB 3.0 in the first mSATA interface and clone the existing drive overall, because laptops do not want fresh windows install.

I tried all the Driver fron the Download Support Center. But anyone not working or is accepted. Can someone help me get the correct drivers.

    Hello

What Satellite Z930-xxx you have exactly?
To my knowledge the units were equipped with three different WLan modules; Intel, Realtek or Atheros are possible would be useful to know the model number

USB drivers are also available on the Toshiba UE driver page.
I guess you have not installed the USB 3.0 driver and therefore the USB unknown device appears in Device Manager.

  • Satellite Z930-130-how to REALLY turn off?

    Hi all

Also funny that my question may sound... it is really serious!
I have big problems in the course of the life of the battery (not so much a single charge, but affecting the "life" of the laptop itself!) because it seems even to be a way to disable COMPLETELY this laptop! It will be as a joke for a laptop of advertising with a 'eco' label that is supposed to help reduce the waste of natural resources (which was an important part of my purchase decision).

When I put the laptop Hibernate or turn it off by long-pressing the 'Power' button, battery mode indicating LEDS etc are always on, the battery is slightly drained even when the laptop is turned off. While of course LED will certainly not use a lot of power, it means that the next time I plug it into my computer, + a new charging cycle is initiated + that could have been avoided without it. With a battery usually survive 1000 charge cycles, which will force me to buy a new battery (by the way: what a shame how "yesterday" and that the battery is built-in and not replaceable by the buyer!) within 2 years if I plug off a few times every day.

Alltogether that sounds a lot like "planned obsolescence" and I'm annoyed by the mere thought of support something like that. Basically, I'm very happy with the Z930, so, I'm more frustrated by this completely unnecessary battery drain. No idea how to activate these LED to the wide and really turn off computer? Or an update of the BIOS just the thing?

BTW, I would be also grateful for advice on how to put pressure on the softer touchpad mouse buttons and easy - on my laptop, they have to be hurry * very * hard.

    My model: Toshiba Satellite Z930 - 130 33.8 cm (13.3 Zoll) Ultrabook (Intel Core i7 3667U, 2 GHz, 4 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD, Intel HD 4000, win 8)

    Thank you, r.

  • Satellite Pro L10 - low speed USB

I just bought a new Pro L10 of Satellite and cannot upgrade USB 1.1 to 2.0 driver (which, incidentally, must be already installed).

() I tried all updates for Windows XP.
BIOS version is V2.0 1549 MHz
° USB Controller-device is not configured correctly.
    WARNING Code1-yellow

Every time when the installation is completed to 55% the warning appears informing "usbehci.sys" file is necessary. Anyone know what to do? I can't find this file anywhere.

    Hello

As far as I know that 1 Code means that the USB driver is not installed or not enabled. In addition, USB 2.0 is already enabled on this device. You don't need to do any upgrade. In my opinion, you should check the settings of the BIOS USB. In addition, you should try to remove the device from Device Manager.
After that restart of the operating system should recognize the USB interface.
Here you can find the missing file:

Please check additional it from Microsoft website or info:

  • Cannot write files e200v2

I have a Sansa e200v2. I run a computer-Sidux linux with KDE 4 as window manager. When I try to copy files by drag and drop, I get an error message indicating that it cannot create folders. When I try and copy individual songs, he says it cannot write to the disk. Before this started, I copy music on the drive and hit eject and unplugged, thinking about its deletion. So I'm sure I caused damage. I was wondering if I could solve this problem of formatting and then reinstall the drivers. If Yes, where can I find them and how to properly install them? Again, I use the window, and I don't know much about linux. Please help me.

Result not screwed, but you'll have to dive into Linux a little.

Go to settings/USB Mode and put the device in MSC mode. This in fact act like any other USB thumb drive. Your Linux support a USB? These are the drivers, you need to find.

The other mode, MTP, is one that works with Windows Media Player. You may have switched to that, and it probably won't work with Linux.

Is there a software that will allow me to write to my pc NAS200? If I can put my photos and music, etc. out there?
