Satelltie P100-387: Question about preinstaled on HARD drive software

I want to know what software preinstalled on new P100-387 on the HARD drive.
There are 3 files which I don't know exactly what's in it and if it is important to be on C:\ CMPNENTS I386 VALUEADD (I want to know if I can remove it or put it on DVD).

And then, I want to know how can I reinstall the system if I change the HARD drive because I have no installation CD with the OS (WXP CCM which was preinstalled)?

Hello
to the files you mentioned: I386 is a system folder where is loading files to the addition of a file system (as root certificate, fax service, indexing service,...), it is important, but you can save it to cd/dvd). Valueadd - here you can find new fonts, network tools, it is not important, but I think that you can use in the future, I will record it. Componetnts - try to explore, I have no idea, I have never seen or heard before.
I think that any user a toshiba installation cd. Toshiba's recovery dvd, where you can load an image file of your system. I'm not sure if it works on the new HARD drive, but probably yes, I've never tried.

Good luck

    Hello

I started to use my nice new Satellite T110-12. How can I create a recovery disc?

Why is there that a common message on the vibration has been detected, HDD head has been moved to a safe position? Is there something wrong? I would return it before the week is up?

Please answer, thanks a lot a lot!

    Hi LindaMon,

    > How to create a recovery disk?
What about reading your user manual?
You need a 8 GB USB key for the creation of a support recovery and preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator.

    > head drive has been moved to a safe position?
Yes, that's normal and everything is ok with your laptop. Your HARD drive will be protected by HDD/SSD Alert utility which is a nice feature of Toshiba to avoid accidents of the head and can improve the lives of the internal HARD disk.
But yoou can disable these notifications if you want. ;)

  • Satellite A50 543: Questions about upgrading the HARD drive

I'm looking to upgrade the internal hard disk on my A50 543 to 100 GB at 7200 RPM. The original drive is a Fujitsu 60GM 4200. I have found no information on the Internet on other readers line CMS that have been tested and found compatible with the A50. I need at least 5400 RPM or 7200 RPM to edit video.

Suppliers meet usually only with so many laptops on the market, they cannot test each hard drive with any laptop, but can tell if it is compatible with the specifications of the computer and the hard disk specifications and are so confident that their information is accurate that they offer a money back guarantee (excluding shipping costs)

    My question is
    (1) how can I be sure that the drive will work (considering the high international shipping costs) to 100%?

    (2) none of the contributors to this forum may recommend a hard drive internal 5400 RPM or more it has installed on the same model specification?

Thank you. You are my last hope

    Hello

If you want to be 100% sure that works on your HARD drive, so I think the best way is to contact the after-sales Service of Toshiba partner. Here, you can order all the devices and parts compatible and supported.
I also found these Toshiba hard disks that must be compatible:
    HDD2187B 20 GB 4 200
    HDD2190B 40 GB 4 200
    HDD2193 40 GB 5 400
    HDD2189B 60 GB 4 200
    HDD2194 60 GB 5 400
    HDD2188B 80 GB 4 200
    80 GB 5 400 HDD2191

In this case, you can use a disk HARD of GB 5 400 80 but I put t found no information about 100 GB of HARD drive.

  • Satellite A300 - Questions about the second HARD drive Bay

To the underside of the laptop, there is an empty Bay for a second HDD internal.
It is in the lower left corner (the first internal hard drive is on the lower side right) and the Bay has a sata connector.
The plastic cover of the empty Bay extended columns so nothing (not even a hard disk) can be positioned on the inside.

    Someone knows:
    -If the sata connector works
-If I can connect a secondary internal hard drive which work together with the primary
-Where I could order the support for the secondary hard drive (i.e. toshiba code)
-Where I could order a plastic cover without extensive columns, bcz I want to break.

If my question is not clear, I can upload a photo.

  • Satellite A200SE - Questions about upgrading the HARD drive

I am trying to upgrade the disk of 60 GB to 250 GB. The operating system is Windows Vista Business. The new drive is a Western Digital Scorpio SATA.

1 - image backup of the disk system external HARD using backup/restore Vista
    2. use the system recovery disk to reload Windows.
3 - the disk is formatted and Windows installs apparently. (From recovery disk.)
    4. after reboot, Setup is aborted with message saying (roughly) "Setup cannot continue because of the configuration".
5 - as usual the message gives no indication as to the cause.

All the tips and forums involve replacing drive HARD is simple. Does anyone have an idea?

    Ideas would be very appreciated!

    Hi scamp126,

I m wondering recovery disc doesn t work because usually this disk still works, you install a new HARD drive

What you can try is a Microsoft Windows disk. Perhaps that the recovery disk is scratched and the files can't be read properly.

  • Questions about X 240 hard drive replacement

I read through the related content on the hard drive for this machine swaps, but I wanted to clarify a few things before going forward.

    Background:

    • Lenovo X 240 w / 500 GB HDD and SSD 16 GB (both came standard), Windows 7
    • HARD drive is faulty (confirmed)
    • I've built / repaired my PC in the past and have a moderate comfort level 'dig deeper' a machine

    Issues related to the:

    1. I will replace with a 500GB HARD drive (or more) SSD. I understand a type reader 2.5 "SATA III will work, but I've seen classified not only 7 mm compatible heights but 9 mm heights will work as well - is this true?
    2. Given the essential motivation will be a SSD, I think that disk cache 16 GB SSD will be useless? Is there a wrong to her leaving (without performance degradation)? If it is best to remove it, I understand it is not easy to access (is there a decent tutorial on how to do it)?
    3. I have a backup image on an external drive (made with standard tools of Win 7), which will be the best way to get this door to the new SSD? I've got a KingWin EZ-Connect and another office that could be exploited which simplifies the process
    4. To confirm, I read a topic on the copy of a HARD drive for an SSD associated spacing address 4K, but don't think that this is the case, it was a Win 7 OS on the original HARD drive?

    Thanks for the help

    Hello and welcome, drandersoninc

    1. Yes, x 240 supports SATA III drives, 7 mm or 9.5 mm height

    2. no need to have a cache drive if the primary drive is the SSD. Remove after uninstalling the software cache.

Useful items to find the drive inside the laptop and remove it:

Disk cache is placed under the internal battery, on the cover of chip card reader.
Open the 3rd link above, take a course, go to the part of the technical review, expand it, select "ThinkPad x 240 m2 - 3rd slot. You will see drive cache.

3 use the cloning software, clone the content of all of the reader (not a partitions). You need just a USB SATA box.

    4. There is no problem of k 4 with modern and win7 discs.

    Hello

I intend to buy the 2nd disc HARD adapter (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-61255)

    My questions:

1.) do I need a special "cage" for 2.5 HARD disk? I remember it was necessary with older 2nd HDD adapters (as for my T40)...

2.) I'll be able to start from there?

(3.) I can use any disk SATA 2.5 here? I looked up the Western Digital Scorpio to be a good player?

(4.) the speed of the interface must be 3 Gb/s or 1.5 Gbit/s?

Thank you for your opinion on this...

    (2) Yes, you can when you set the boot order in your BIOS

    (3) you can use any disk SATA 2.5 9.5 mm thick, but the final interface of your adapter is Enhanced IDE

    (4) would not issue final connection of your caddy to the laptop is through E-IDE, which is well below the maximum 1.5 Gb/s of a SATA 1.5 mode.

  • 2400-103: question about replacing the HARD drive

I'm trying to figure out how to replace my laptop HD. It is of a Satellite 2400-103. The HD is broken. I got it removed, but I'm not sure what to replace it with. Maybe a Toshiba MK - 3021 GAS, what can I get away with? Can I get a more general e.g. 40 GB storage device? Can I use a SATA device?
The broken HD that came out is a Hitachi DK23DA-30F, but I find it difficult to find a local supplier of this exact model.

    Help, please.

    Hi guy,

Your original drive is a 30 GB device, so you can replace it with a similar model from a different manufacturer and at the same time, to increase capacity (any where up to 80 GB should be fine according to your needs). I replaced my 30 GB with a Toshiba MK8025GAS drive there are many moons with no problems.

One thing to know the rotation speed. Your Hitach1 drive is 4 200 rpm and you could in theory use a disk with a faster rotation (5 400 or 7 200 RPM), but this can generate excessive heat when using a lot of the hard disk activity.

    Kind regards

  • Update on the Satellite P100 (4200 RPM at 5400 RPM) HARD drive

I had my laptop game Satellite P100-347, abandoned for a while now and want to give it to my little brother. This laptops come with 4200 RPM HARD drive and I would like to know if it is upgraded to a 5400 RPM / MIN 320 GB finally fails the system or am good to start!

Unfortunately, there is no public document on update on this model of laptop HARD drive and I can't say for sure but I believe that there should be any problem. If anyone post here own experience about these updates buy the HARD drive and test it.

If there is a problem, you can send the HARD return drive.

  • Equium A210 - Question on two 2 hard drives using Vista

I'm looking for some portable refurbished Toshiba and see that some of them (including the title template) have 2 hard drive bays. An individual has a specified 80 GB drive and I am puzzled as to how, if the 80 GB is divided, it can run Vista.

I intend to use the built-in hard drive to run the programs and the OS and use an external drive to store all my data, that's why I go for a laptop with a hard drive relatively low and hopefully get a good quality for less money machine.

But I would like to know what size are these 2 drives and you would be grateful for information about the ins and outs of the 2 hard drives.

Thanks in advance if you can enlighten me :)

    Hello

    > An individual has a specified 80 GB drive and I am puzzled as to how, if the 80 GB is divided, it can run Vista.
Your question confuses me, I wonder what's not clear for you
You are right. Some series are equipped with two bays for HARD drives, but this does not mean that you can use 2 hard disks because not all models with 2 bays for HARD drives supports 2 HARD disk controllers. So before use 2 HARD drive, you will need to check first if the second span would contain HARD drive connectors.

In addition, the installation of Vista OS always create 2 partitions on the HARD disk.
A small partition is hidden and it contains the necessary vista backup files that are needed to repair the Vista operating system (in critical situations).
The second partition contains the common files system.

This is the whole secret of Vista

  • Several Questions about educational Versions of the software

Well, I have several questions about teaching from Adobe software.  I will attend school in the near future (now I'm not enrolled in any type of school) and I see that Adobe has huge discounts on "educational software".

What exactly is the difference between the "commercial" version of a program and an educational version?  Do you need some kind of student card to activate an educational version, or proof that you are in school, or something special like that?  I noticed people unopened sell educational versions on eBay and I heard there is no differences between the software, but this makes me wonder... why the price difference?

Also, I intend on buying another Mac in the near future - probably for the school.  My second question is - with this software (education), is that I can put programs on my desktop and my laptop, or they won't work on one person on one computer?  I've heard people that serial numbers cannot be activated so many times.

Last question.  My HDD recently crashed and I lost a good bit of things and had to re - install everything.  If this would never happen again, reinstall all Adobe programs on a hard drive nine?  Or I will meet the all 'serial numbers cannot be activated so many times?

Very well.  I think about the fact.  Any input would be great.  Thank you.

    -Mike

In terms of content, there normally is no real difference between the editions of the retail and educational/student. There may be some additional fonts or clip art in the commercial version, but this varies from one version to the other, and a product.

You must qualify to buy an educational/student version. These qualifications are listed on the Adobe Web site. Normally, you must provide proof of reserve that sells licenses of software for you. You can not buy now for the reason that you will be a student in the future. You must have purchase student status.

Unlike versions of retail, education/student Adobe versions software are not transferable. Sale of such software 'closed' on eBay must be regarded with suspicion. Adobe resellers do not offer software on eBay sales. The software is either stolen, used (but reconditioned), or pirated goods.

Most of the Adobe software, including the Creative Suite software, can be activated at the same time on two computers owned and used by a single individual. second computer is usually a laptop, if first computer is a computer at home for students. For retail sales, usually first computer is a desktop computer and the second computer is a mobile computer or at home. Computers must not run the software at the same time. And No, two students may not share a single copy on two separate computers.

The software can be turned on and off but after 20 or if these cycles, you will need to call Adobe and explain what is happening to get characters such cycles. If you are enabled on both systems and a hard drive or a computer turns off and you need to reinstall the software without having the possibility to disable the system blew, Adobe activation support group normally will be granted an additional activation, assuming that you do not have a record of abusing the privilege (as your hard drive breaks down once a month!).
