Save for Web file default in Illustrator CC 2015.3

Following the upgrade to Illustrator CC 2015.3, whenever I want to export my work using ' export > save for web... "it is by default in GIF file format In previous versions, it is lacking in any format that you used previously, but now it always goes to the GIF format.

I have made online and product and can't find anyway to change that. It's a minor change, but when you are exporting multiple images in the creation of digital assets for marketing campaigns is incredibly frustrating and lose time when you must always choose the type of file you want.

I've noticed this time when you use Illustrator at home on my PC and Mac at work. There is the option "Export for screens", but that can be a bit of a faff, especially when you have to go and rename each file after export.

In short, is there a way to change the default file format 'save for web', says PNG?

    Which version of photoshop and the operating system are you using?

    Looks like you have some metadata save with the file.

    Where it says set metadata from scratch and see if that makes a difference.

    Anyone know why (a) ' save for web' is now "legacy" (under export) and (b) the question of whether something will replace it?

    From the 2015 version of CC in Photoshop, the file > save for Web option has been moved to the File > Export > save for Web (legacy) alongside new export options.

    I'm saving an image for the web and I'm in RGB mode. When I choose 'Save for Web and devices' Preview (bottom left of the dialog box) file size is 25 k for the size of the file but when I save the file and check the file size is 328 kb - can anyone suggest why this is happening?

    This question has been asked and abonadoned here, so I write because it also happens to me.

    CS4 and CS5 (I tried both), Mac OS 10.6

    1. I select action 'Save for Web PNG', which is part of the package by default, and select "batch".

    2. I choose a source folder and choose a destination folder and check "Override Action"Save"commands."

    3 illustrator then performs the backup of Web action, but puts the .png files in the destination of origin specified in the action. It also puts copies of .ai files in the destination folder, I have created and specified in the batch dialog box.

    I want the .png files in my folder, and I don't want copies of .ai files.

    Pulling my hair out on this one, go to lunch. Thanks in advance for any help

  • Saving files cut out in Illustrator CS6 as it has been in CS5 'Save for web and devices' gone?

    I used to save all my slices in CS5 it would give me the ability to save for web and devices, then when I was there he let me down another option... then I could go in and save it as a html and images, and then he would automatically make div for me when I got Dreamweaver.  When this option is passed to the CS6?  Can someone help I'm on a big date limit, and I lost all my transfer of new work in cs5 try there as I used to.  Joined a .png to show what I mean.

    Once in the "Save for Web" dialog box Click on the Preview button and the HTML page will be generated and opened in your default browser.

    Under the preview of the design / layout will be the HTML code that you copy and paste into an empty HTML page in Dreamweaver.

  • Work plan won't "save for web" - Illustrator CS4 export everything on the file

    I accidentally check any box? I have several versions of a design on my file in different work plans.  I choose what work plan I want to save for web. Usually in the Save Panel for web only art in selected the work plan is there for me recording in different formats. All of a sudden he brings everything in all the different work plans.

    You can try with scriptlistener to record the code. Change to the last line of the NO to ALL dialog boxes, so that the dialog - if you wish. There are two places in the code to save the files: one where is actually saved the file, and the other where the default value is file. I have seen it changed something with it. So, you can simply use the first listing of a path in the code below.

The creative cloud application checks the update once a day, so you may see the update immediately.  If you want to force the check for an update at the beginning please logout and log back into the creative Cloud application.

  • Where the file is saved when I "save for Web?

    When I'm with 'save for web', (AI 2014 CC), I get a "Save" button, but no button "save under". " After hitting the 'Save', I can't locate the new file on my drive. What is the trick?

    Maybe it's time for the list: obviously, you should give the opportunity to the save location. unless it's a new feature just send it somewhere on the internet.

    The following is a general list of things, try when the question is not in a specific file, and when it is not caused by problems with opening a file from external media. You tried/made some of them already; 1 and 2) are easier for temporary strangenesses and 3) and 4) specifically preferences might be corrupt); ((5) is a list in itself and 6) is the last resort.

    If possible / there is, you must record a current work first, of course.

    (1) close Illy and open again.

    (2) restart the computer (you can make up at least 5 times);

    (3) close Illy and press Ctrl + Alt + Shift / Cmd + Option + shift during startup (easy, but irreversible);

    4) move the folder (follow the link with this name) with closed Illy (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible), for CS3 - CC you can find the file here:

    5 look through and try the relevant among the other options (click on the link with that name, item 7) is a list of the usual suspects among other applications which can disturb and confuse Illy, point 15) applies to the maybe CS5, CS6 and CC);

    (6) (check the box to delete the preferences), run the cleanup tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC) to uninstall and reinstall.

  • Fuzzy dynamic objects in Photoshop save for Web in JPEG files

    I create graphics, etc. in Illustrator, place them as dynamic objects in a master before displaying file Photoshop save for Web JPEG files as a slide PowerPoint background. Created in Illustrator or Photoshop, everything through this process (quality 80 or 100 with all SfW options on or off) except for the bands are blurred when they are imported (at 100%) in PowerPoint. The only way I was able to get whatever it is crisp in PowerPoint saves a Photoshop pdf file. However, it was only the text created in Photoshop. The part of the Illustrator smart object was still unclear. Someone has an idea on the best process to combine Photoshop and Illustrator files into a single file for import into PowerPoint as a clean and clear background? At this point, I am open to all suggestions.

    PowerPoint, as with all the office applications, use print sizes images and layouts, not pixel sizes. So, your pictures are probably too small to be seen clearly in PPT. according to Microsoft, failure to PPT for images is 220ppi, so if you want them to be clear, work on the actual size (inches / cm / mm) you want the image and save it to 220ppi or higher - no use save for web. Save for web always saves out to 72 dpi.

    I use registration to web feature to save a large number of files (not batch save).

    Usually, when I open a file and start saving for the web, he forget not the folder that I recently exported to and by default, open this folder for this file until I have 'save for web' in a different folder.

    Out of nowhere apparently, save it for the web seems to "forget" this folder (and any other folder, I tried to save to) and now by default in the 'Documents' folder, causeing me have to click to access find my desired destination folder.

    I'm on CS5 & Mac running Mountain Lion. On my work computer (exactly the same, Mac + Mountain Lion), I use CS6 and have not encountered this problem.

    I'm fairly new to Illustrator and I wanted to create a vector logo based for its use in the press a web.

    If the early hours have been a lot of fun and learned so much just to try - but now im stuck. I wanted to save the result to the web / devices and if I still get some white stripes in the .gif image. I guess it comes from framing of the image and there is a solution to this problem just by making a few settings.

    But like I said after that much time lost on desperately trying to solve - I NEED YOUR HELP! so thank you much!

    You have pixelated you art in Illustrator and crushed the art to re-record the art after the pixelation it?

    Or is it still all vectors?

    I have what I think is a very simple question - I have an application that uses the screen and I have a ButtonField I want to blow up the screen when it is pressed.  i.e. go to the home screen - the same way, by pressing on the Red call end t - it.
