This is a bug related to the starting workspace. The workaround is to disable the workspace of beginning of preferences > General: uncheck "Show 'Start' workspace when no document is open.

  • DW CC: What happened to the workspace called Design?

I take a course in Web design and the book that we use for CS6. Inside, there is a reference to the reset of the provision to work to 'Design' In DW CC I don't see it as a choice. Ony I have two choices: expanded or Compact.

    • Has been deleted and the space of design work plan?
    • Is Compact or Expanded a new name for it?

    Thank you for your help.

    Yes

Workspaces in Dreamweaver CC have been changed. But that doesn't stop you to create your own workspace. Just drag the panels according to your own workflow and select the new workspace from the menu. Save the workspace with your own name.

This is how it has always worked. Default workspaces were always supposed to be just starting points. News are simple and include most frequently used panels.

  • FDK - add custom modeless dialog box in the workspace

(transferred to framedev and coaches, have no chance to get a response)

    Hello

Someone at - it their own dialog box successfully added to a workspace, then got to

appear when this workspace is selected or reset? The FDK doc implies that this

can be done, but I can't understand it. I opened my save dialog box the

workspace, but it does not come at the time when I reset the workspace.

In fact, I didn't it works, because there must be some other crochet

where I responded by running the appropriate code to open the box. FM couldn't know

What would this code. But I can't understand how to use notifications.

In particular, I can't understand FA_Note_Dialog_Create at all.

    Thank you

    Russ

Well, I finally thought to it with greater experimentation. I think the answer is in the FDK docs, but it was difficult for me and my first experience has failed for some reason any. Pasted below is some info that I sent to Maxwell Hoffman at Adobe, in which case it would be interesting to their team of technical publications:

RE: Adding a dialog box customized to a workspace

It took me a long time to understand this because I think the FDK documentation lacks some details. Here's what he says now:

"Because FrameMaker supports workspaces, modeless dialogs of the customer can become a part of a workspace. To do this, the customer must manage the notification FA_Note_Dialog_Create, who is sent to the client when the workspace must launch the modeless dialog box for a particular customer. »

I guess the answer is there, but it wasn't enough clarify for me to understand at the beginning. I have finally understood that when you save a workspace when the dialog box is open, the notification and then is done automatically once you select or reset this workspace in the future. There is also the fact that "sparm" is set to the name of the dialog box, you need to test in order to know how to react. So, I would recommend adding some verbiage that is similar to the following:

When a workspace is saved with a custom open modeless dialog, name and positioning of this dialog box are stored with the workspace. Then, when the user selects or resets the workspace, FrameMaker sends the FA_Note_Dialog_Create to the respective customer with sparm set to the name of the dialog box. It is then the responsibility of the customer to manage the notification and run the code needed to open the new dialog box. Once the dialog box is open and the client code stops, the workspace setup routine will continue and position automatically dialog as stored in the workspace.

    Note the following points:

-FA_Note_Dialog_Create is sent when the workspace includes a custom dialog which was opened after you save the workspace. If several custom dialog boxes have been opened, individual notifications are sent for each.

-Customer notification code must reopen the dialog box itself (F_ApiOpenResource(), etc.), then it will position the workspace.

    - As all notifications, you must enable FA_Note_Dialog_Create with F_ApiNotification().

  • How can I save the General preferences?

Not the specific tool.  Things like grids, interpolation of the image, ect.

I want to have a workspace specifically for SNES and do not want to reset all the General preferences when I want to create a file of pixel art.  Is it possible to save the General settings?

    Thank you!

    DC

When I recorded the new workspace (SNES) and reload my workspace normal (Dana Standard), he saved the locations menu, but non-specific predefined tools, or anything in general preferences, such as grids, etc.  This is CS4, btw.

A test, I saved the new workspace (Pixel Art) with the settings of the grid at 8pixels/8subdivisions.  I then quit photoshop.  I restarted, and remained 8/8 settings.  When I rebooted my workspace usual (Dana Standard), changed the menus, but all Photoshop general preferences remained the same, including the settings of the grid 8/8.

All this means that the workspace does NOT save General preferences.

Christmas, when I save the workspace, it doesn't give me that three things to select and save:

    Places panel

    Keyboard shortcuts

    Menus

.. published of them belong to the General preferences of PS.

  • Save as a PDF-records which is outside of the workspace

I use Illustrator CS... maybe it's my first problem haha. In any case, when I try to save a .pdf of my file version, it ALWAYS saves including everything that is outside of the area of the workspace... As instead of save, say, the 8.5x11"document that I worked, if I have something hanging outside that space, it registers as a document 12 x 11" instead.

Is it possible to get the .pdf to be ONLY what's inside the workspace? I have things that have to crawl around the edges... so I can not just move everything inside of the workspace.

    Thanks for any help!

  • Cannot save preferences/workspaces etc., in CC2014, the PS said the file is locked. It is not.

The actual error messages I get are:

"Cannot save preferences because the file is locked, you don't have the necessary access permissions or another program is using the file. Use the "Get Info" command in the Finder to make sure that the file is unlocked and you are allowed to access the file. "If the problem persists, save the document to another file or duplicate in the Finder.

It's the same thing when I moved to CS6 CC, no one here knew the answer, but the Photoshop online help guy told me to move the two files on my desktop, this corrects the problem, but I cannot find these files in CC2014 they were: The Adobe Photoshop CC settings folder and file: com.adobe.Photoshop.plist (I think they are still on my desktop but it's also a lot of other things)

Did anyone here know how to solve this problem or where to find these files? I know how to get to the hidden stuff, but can not see them. I love the look of the new features and can't wait to try them, but wile, I can't save my settings that I hafta stay with the 'old' CC.

PS: I get this message when I left Photoshop and also when I try to synchronize or save the settings, thanks in advance guys.

Excuse me, I found the recalcitrant files & moving them to my office actually avoided the new day. In case someone else has a similar problem the files in question are located in: / users/yourname/Library/Preferences / (you must hold down the option/alt key to see the library folder), and they have the file "Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 Settings" & file "com.adobe.Photoshop.plist"

Now I get try out these new features!

  • Manage the XML files in the workspace tool

    Hello

I developed a workspace tool that was working until I have add the report XML file IO > XML > XML Parser.

I can't add any VI of this palette to my worksapce tool. I get an error when trying to open the workspace tool if one of these screws is inside my tool.

    The error is:

In my workspace tool, I need to open/create/modify and save XML files.

I am in a position to use property nodes and node invoke for this type of files. And I already replace all screws of NI_XML.lvlib for nodes of property and call the nodes. But there are 2 screws that actually, I'm still unable to find the solution for them.

Who are the NI_XML.lvlib:New.vi and the NI_XML.lvlib: Close .vi, because they are protected by Word.

Anyone has idea how to solve this problem?

I noticed a few screws of this palette XML using a dll. For example the first matched NI_XML.lvlib:Get Node.vi this interior uses the DOMUserDefRef.dll.

I saw this dll functions and there is a for close, which might be the one they use inside the Close.vi. The function is DUXDocumentClose.

I need this because you cannot close a XML reference with close Reference.vi.

I need to replace the 3 screws

You can do it in the manner that main vi is only as .vi. Dependencies must go to llb in the same folder as vi main.

You can look at some of the tools here: https://github.com/NIVeriStandAdd-Ons/

  • Is there a way to auto-charge the workspace?

Whenever I have DiaDem I have to manually go to the tab startup script and select the file-> recent workspaces-> (select name)...

Is it possible to have the startup script that automatically?

    Hi Colin,

You just need to change a SCRIPT parameter, and then save the Desktop.DDD file.  In the SCRIPT pane, select the menu "settings > Options > SCRIPT", then choose the right *. WSP file in the dialog box and click .  Now select the menu "settings > Options > save as" and replace your Desktop.DDD file.  That's all.

  • The Panel in the workspace layout

    Hello world!

I'm a big fan of scripts and I use the same all over again, I love having them in my work presentation/workspace.

Everything is fine with it, except that whenever I organize that they have the specific position and size that I want in my workspace, after a relaunch of After Effects, are still there, but the size of each Panel has changed, it has been reduced and I have to re - open whenever I use After Effects , (so, possibly 5 - 6 times a day for the past 5 years).

Is it something to do to keep the workspace the user chooses or I am I cursed to repeat until the end of time?

    Thanks for your help!

Save custom workspaces? If you have created the panels UI you defined the size? I use the standard workspaces more 3 workspaces customized I saved on almost all projects. I have several custom scripts that you find by going to the Windows menu that I work with and they seem to stay exactly where I put because of the way scripts are written. Floating with interface panels user which is accessible from the file scripts > menu Scripts do not have the right script to enable them to act as panels so if you need to resize those I hope that they will have to be resized when raise AE.

  • Lock the workspace

I am completely happy with my workspace like this. Is it possible to lock the workspace to avoid by inadvertence/disconnection of the panels and the window document? 99 / 100 times of any change in my workspace is involuntary - most often try to drag a guide down the rule and rather startling at the edge of the document window and disconnect it. For some reason, my installation of CS6 is messed up and it is impossible to anchor this window (installed on two different computers, two different cards graphics, two different operating systems at two different times and the same problem). Same thing with the panels. PITA real trying to anchor a panel that was accidentally released. I have space to work, but because of the above wrong installation, I have to close all my open work files and restart Photoshop to get my workspace. I hope that by being able to lock the workspace I will avoid this problem.

You can't lock the workspace. You can't do what Trevor said is save it as you like it and if it is messed up, reset

  • Turn off auto-save for workspaces?

Is there a way to disable the automatic backup for the custom workspaces created? We use Illustrator CC 2015.

Usually, our designers create a few 'clean' and neatly looking different workspaces, they can spend according to what they do. Usually, though, during their work, they move the windows around, which means that the next time they open the workspace, it is crowded and don't really look as it should. It would be nice, if it would interrupt the automatic backup all changes made to the workspace.

According to them, it wasn't like that in earlier versions and the help-site here how customize the workspace Illustrator does not what is called 'save workspace', which is not present in 2015 of CC. I currently install Adobe CC in order to test if I can reproduce the desired functionality here.

If you save a workspace and elements move of the original workspace, then you can reset this workspace (red)?

To save the new workspaces, select Workspace (green)

  • Cannot delete the files of the ECO in the workspace

We set up a new environment of EMP 11.1.2.2 (Reporting and analysis) on Linux. In addition, we have a box of windows for customer analysis and web studio IR. Our repository is an Oracle DB. We imported about 186 files OCÉ in our workspace via LCM. When we try to map a file OCE in a BQY file, under its properties, we are not able to find the required files of ECAS. The drop-down list gives only the top 100 ECO files, alaphabetical. And files OCE, we need are not there. We are sure that we have all 186 OCÉ files imported successfully. And we are not able to find a way to delete the ECAS that we don't need.

All the world is facing a similar scenario? Please suggest a work around for this problem, so that all the files of the ECO will appear in the drop-down list.

    Thank you.

    Hi Ravi,

    You can try the below

    1. in the workspace, go to navigate > administer > Reporting Analysis > Services

    2. right click on the service of Reporting Analysis Framework

    3. Select Properties

    4. Add a new parameter to JAVA_OPTS option:-DMCL. JDBCFetchMaxRowSize = XXX. For example, a value of 200 will display 200 OCÉ files in the workspace.

    5. save changes

    6. restart all R & A services.

    Hope this helps
