Saving edited files indb, keeping original?

So I searched around, and I can't find an answer to this. Probably because I don't know how that Word. So if there's a thread on this I apologize.

So I created a book in English, in Indesign. But now I have to create this book even with parts of it being Chinese. Well first I thought stupidly copy the original file in windows and putting it elsewhere would keep the file as a whole and intact. (I am new to Adobe). But it does not work and I found myself with 2 shortcuts that lead to the same published document, is more original / non-Chinese. So now, I thought I could use the menu book to "save the pound" and name it something else and put it elsewhere. That no longer works. For once I did all the work once again, I find that my original CD is once again editing.  A long long story. How to take an original book, edit it, save it as a new book and keep the original for a future edition possible?

Thank you!

A simple way to do this, make a package.

Thank you

I use LR 6.5 on an iMAC. Files RAF Fuji originally, I imported from an SD card worked and exported in the form of PSD and then after saving the files on an external hard drive RAF erased from Lightroom. I now have to import some RAF of the HD files but LR shows them as dazed out and said that they have already been imported when I hover over the thumbnail. I have this problem when importing files in the same HD Canon CR2, and who have been treated exactly the same. Anyone got a clue as to why this is happening? Thanks, Phil

    Hi Phil,

If Lightroom then reads these as duplicate files, it shows that they are already present in your Lightroom Catalog.

You can search by file name and check if the image is present in your library.

  • Mixture of Photoshop mobile app. How can you save an edited photo in the same file as the original?

Mixture of Photoshop mobile app. How can you save an edited photo in the same file as the original?

    Hey there Mopi2!

Currently, there is no way to save your new image instead of the original image. For now, you need to manually delete the original. It is however a great request! Please share with the team by typing "give us feedback" in the app menu (tap on the app icon in the upper left corner of the screen while inside the app).

Let me know if that helps!

  • How to: save the image in multiple formats AND edit file names every time automatically?

    Hello!

First of all, I hope I'm not opening a discussion that has already been asked/Treaty. a lot. I couldn't find a solution to my particular problem until now in the web and I hope someone can help me.

I work with Adobe Photoshop CC 2015.

My problem is: I work a lot with product photos (whole/collage of several elements) and I want to speed up the process-saving in multiple formats (JPEG and PNG, sometimes TIFF as well).

The initial situation is: I have a main PSD file (to keep things clean and centralized) with several layers, each layer containing a different element. I need to check/uncheck layer visibility often, add/remove elements of collage to generate variants of game.

With every change that I agree (very minor steps), I have to go to SAVE AS... (Shift + ctrl + s)-> SET a format (JPEG, PNG, TIFF)-> EDIT file name (according to whole-variation [e.g. "Assembly-set01_lightbulb" / "Assembly-set01_lightbulb_cable" /...]---> save.) Fact.

And then REPEAT the steps together, define another format drop-down list, change the name of the file again (since the file original .psd remains without additions) and so on...

This process could his insignificant, but for me, when it comes to the variations set, consumes a lot of time, in particular, by taking changes in layers is a matter of 2 clicks.

So what I know: There is an option to automate the in some workflows. I can create an action, where hitting a predefined key, the original PSD is saved as JPEG and PNG. But that's all. No change of name of file or the destination can be performed (AFAIK).

Now what I want: I want to hit a predefined key, SAVE as... context-window, JPEG (...) is defined by default as defined format, I can modify the file name and/or ideally choose another folder to save to (...). Press enter-> the file is saved in JPEG format with the file name and alternative way edited. A new RECORD under... context window appears, PNG (...) is defined as the default format defined, I can still ideally to change the file name and press ENTER to find:

    -the original (unchanged) PSD file,

-a copy of this image to JPEG with file name changed (... _xxx.jpg) [in another folder path, if I wanted to.

-a copy of this PNG image with file name changed (... _yyy.png) [so somewhere else if I wanted]

All this with the push of a single button(-combination) and my entry to change the names of files.

Is it possible? I hope that my request is understandable and you could understand, what I want to achieve. The process itself is quite simple, but I have too complex concepts on how I want to maximize my workflow.

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards, Phil

    Hi Phil,

This is something impossible in Photoshop as if now that the process you are looking for is very personalized and can be reached only in Photoshop.

The only way that you can save a JPEG and PNG file is by creating an action, and that's what you have already tried and does not give you an option to change the file name or destination location.

  • Where are my mobil edited files stored?

I have saved a file psd Adobe Mix from my iPad to my office, edited in Photoshop CC, saved it... and now he's disappeared.

It seems that these files have a strange name of Adobe, i.e. 64C0FF16-4789-484F-74A832AAD9E9. I just use 'save' and not ' save under ' with a new name. I was afraid that the files of version would not be in the same folder as the original and it didn't, but it is also not found.

The initial download of Mix is 'active' CC, but not the saved version; It is not in my pictures folder. It is not in any folder or library on my desktop HD or HARD drive and I have looked.

I have no idea how to evoke the old PS 'file path' so there is no way to follow through my BONES.

There must be a way to locate these files, any suggestions?

    Have you tried this:

    1. use SAVE AS (not Save, which goes back to the CC library)

    2. choose Office

    3. type a NEW name

    4. do not leave Photoshop, but look in the Finder (Mac) or Windows Explorer (Windows) to see if the file exists under the new name.

    T it?

  • Save a file in its original format

I have several audio files in different formats (m4s, AIFF, mp3, wave). When I modified these files in Audition - how can I save them in their original format (overwrite the originals with the edited files)? If I close them now, all of these files are saved as .wav.

You use "Save as" and choose the original format. But a word of warning is in order, as far as highly compressed formats go - when you open, say, an MP3 at the hearing, it is decoded in a wav file. When you resave it as a MP3 player, it must be re-coded and there is inevitably a loss of quality when you do this. In the case of MP3 files of bit low rate, it is generally a significant loss, as well...

  • First creates zero byte garbage files while saving, project file disappears / corrupts

    Hi guys,.

I was faced with a strange intermittent technical problem with first saved project (and sometimes the After Effects project files).

    Case:

    -Editor opens a project.

-After a while as major successes of the editor "Save."

-A file named strangely appears in the save location without extension (a long string of characters separated by hyphons).

-Sometimes, this garbage file disappears, and the project is saved. Other times, this file remains and original project file disappears and the Editor doesn't even know!

-If the editor hits record once again, a message box appears indicating the file has been modified since the last save - hit Cancel or OK.

This question has meant that we have lost from the project files and had to recover backup automatic and/or creative cloud sync folder.

    Sometimes, it saves ok!

This is what the strange file looks like.

    Screen Shot 2014-08-28 at 17.30.40 copy.png

I don't know if this problem is related to the software Adobe, Mac os or Linux, but we have only run into it using the Adobe software.

Sometimes, after effects up an error related to that as well, forcing you to either "save under", or incremental save.

    Screen Shot 2014-08-28 at 18.04.55.png

It's a network editing environment - all customers are macs Mavericks, working from a Ubuntu Linux via SMB server through gigabit ethernet. All clients are authenticated on the server to the same user admin directory and creating masks are 0755 in SMB settings. SMB.conf also has some setting parameters: socket options = TCP_NODELAY SO_RCVBUF of IPTOS_LOWDELAY = 65536 SO_SNDBUF = 65536

Op-locks are disabled at the side Server (I thought it might be to do with oplocks).

    Someone at - it ideas?

Or maybe someone could explain to me the process behind the scenes of what happens when the first runs a backup?

Glad to hear that it is not me to become crazy, but unglad you meet it!

Recently, we have replaced SMB with NFS as the Protocol for the sharing of our main RAID and cache, and since then this problem occurs is no longer.

This points no doubt the way Adobe apps with SMB. I have a feeling that it is something to do with oplocks or something behind the scenes that denies access PP for the project file to crush them.

TBH, as a bonus NFS will be like a rocket to planet bliss Editor. It's a good beast. Unfortunately I do not know how the Windows implementation is good (I know certainly that only windows 7/8 corporate customers are able to access NFS shares, which is a disappointment for most).

  • How you restore your file to the original before closing?

I open a file, and change margins. I did two upward on a page. Now, I want to change it it is original. Just close these days, he recorded with my changes. Then, how do return you your file to the original before closing? Thank you.

Open your two-seater document in Pages ' 09. In the lower left corner of the status bar, click the indicator at the top of this menu, and percentage change two places for a spot. Save your document. You should resize your document down to its size of single page, before saving, as the Pages ' 09 will do that for you when you switch back from two places.

  • a 16 bit saved TIFF file does not work in ImageJ

    Hello

I have a camera that records a 12-bit TIFF file.  When I have a saved TIFF file, it can be opened in ImageJ and all pixel values are preserved.  Also, if I display in Labview using IMAQ, it can be displayed properly and if I use ImageToArray, all values are correct too.  However, if I save it in a new file using written IMAQ 2 file, the saved file can be loaded in Labview with the correct pixel values, however, if I open this file saved in ImageJ, all the values are converted to 16 - bit wrongly.  For example, the value 62 (00111110) becomes 1000000000111110.  Apparently, the first figure when converted to 16-bit, it designates the first bit to 1 instead of 0.  I'm confused because the same saved when the image loaded into labview vi, the value is 62.

Is it possible to fix it?  Could this be a problem with ImageJ instead of labview? I joined the original file and save the file here.

    Greetings, Charles;

After looking at the attached screenshot, I have a question for you. Which is currently connected to the IMAQ Create for Source2? I guess it is an enumeration with I16 selected, correct?

The same thing happens if you use U16 times on LabVIEW and ImageJ, or any lower bit depth? Finally, if you save the image to a different file format, you get similar behavior?

    Best regards;

    Simon P.

Recently some of my saved Word files have changed to DOCX, this is random. When I type a new Word document, it is stored as a DOCX file. How can I fix? My operating system is windows 7 and the 10 Word version.

Add to what is already said, if you want to make permanent change (that is, all files saved as .doc), then click on (top left of the word) Office button and choose Word Options--> Recording tab and put "save files in this format...". "as a result.

  • Cannot access my C drive whn saving quicken files

Windows 7 Home Premium operating system.

Initially, I couldn't access the C drive because I got the message that I need administrator privileges.  I found the answer to fix this problem, but when I try to save my quicken, data files for the quicken directory, I get the message, "there is no such thing as c:\program Quicken, you want to create?  When I click Yes I get a message "Please enter a valid directory."  I type in C:\program files\quicken\qdata12.qdf-backup command line.

There are two folders Program Files under Windows 7.  The second is Program Files (x 86) quicken where was installed.  I tried to type C:\Program Files (x86)\quicken\qdata12.qdf-backup and get the message cannot access the C: drive.) Please make sure the disc is ready, and the disk is not write protected.

I never had this problem on my other computer that is running Windows XP Home Edition SP3.

No, it isn't a problem with Quicken.  By a previous answer, the problem is Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit running.  It does not allow access to the Quicken directory as was the case of all other versions of windows and quicken which I've used since 1991.

In Windows 7 Quicken is installed in C:\Program Files (x 86) \Quicken. Is the path of the file for saving my file qdata12.qdf: C:\Users\myusername\AppData, because that Win 7 protects the program files.

    RCWhite thanks for the answer.

    Hi Slim,

First of all thank you very much for your help.

I now sort the problem using the AVCHD tab.  I can't that assume that because the original video is of high quality in the program would not burn an iso file to DVD to address normal.  I also had to change the setting from 'Type' to "ISO Image (8.5 GB)" because it would not 4.7 GB.

  • How can I edit files in contact PS psd or what software/app, I need for androiud tablet (newest Tablet)

How can I edit files in contact PS psd or what software/app, I need for androiud tablet (Tablet latest) @samsung

You can import PSD files into Photoshop Touch, but the PSD file will be flattened. (The original, of course, will remain intact; PS button just the copy when the import.) I guess that this was done by security measure integrated since PS touch has no support for masks or adjustment layers (not to mention that PS touch only has support for about 12 layers).
