Security Windows Service Center has been removed

Hi all

I have a Windows 7 x 64 machine.

I had a virus, and just after its withdrawal, I discovered that the Windows Update Service and Windows Security Center Service has been removed.

I have reinstalled Windows Update Service, but could not find where I can download the software to reinstall the Windows Security Center Service...

How can I reinstall it?

Thank you for your help.

The service has been removed, not just turned off. So I'm more in the list of local services in Services.msc

This REG fix restores the missing Security Center service.

Download/Unzip/Run the REG file, and then restart Windows.

  • Security scam - our link has been removed

We had a call from someone posing as the Windows security.  They said they were getting error reports that someone is using our ISP number to commit cybercrime. We were then asked to open different windows allowing them access to our computer, unfortunately we did it.  When all was said and done, they tried to sell us extra protection. When we refused, they told us that they had no other choice-enable our IP address in the next four hours.  When we always refused they told my sons f-off and hung up on him.  Well, they did something... because our links have been removed. How do we restore our files?

Any help would be appreciated.            Gail

You fell for a major scam. Never allow someone else access to your PC, unless you know who they are.

    Microsoft would never do that.

A little more information would be useful.

What is your OS and MS?

    What is your anti-malware protection?

Is it possible to restore your PC to a date prior to the phone call?

If yes you can do this and see if it comes back to you.

I received an email telling me that my iPad has been removed from my list of secure devices.  Apparently, if I read correctly, because it "has been DELETED."  But my iPad has NOT ERASED!

  • Why the horizontal scope has been removed in Windows Vista?

First of all, here is my way of explaining the horizontal range for those who want clarification that we are talking about the same thing.

Instead of having 2 monitors configured as dual screen both with a resolution of 1680 x 1050, I mean having two monitors to horizontal configuration so the resolution is 3360 x 1050
This allows the games full screen to use a resolution of 3360 x 1050 spanning both monitors.
The double screen in vista is able to allow two monitors running 1680 x 1060, but when you launch a game fullscreen, it turned off 1 screen and used only your primer.
in horizontal juxtaposition XP means that you can use a resolution full 3360 x 1050 within a set with 2 monitors side by side.

Now me if I'm wrong, but XP is the predecessor of Vista, so WHY WHY WHY such an excellent feature wouldn't be deleted ?
    It really amazes me.

This feature is (or will be present) in windows 7?
If not, then I will not splash my money on your new operating system, nor I will recommend it to any of my friends who are keen players.

    Best regards, Ironthumbs

MrIronThumbs pointed out, this feature has been removed from Vista and was not replaced in Windows 7.  There may be some third-party programs that will accomplish this.  If you want to leave a comment for Windows 7 and the application that have to be added, then click on the link below and let us know about it.  Windows 7 comments Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

I'm having a problem with Windows Media Center. It starts no problem, but when I click on recorded TV, it says that "Windows Media Center has stopped working, seeking resolutions... "If I click on TV guide there is no problem. I tried a restore, but for some reason any restore function has been disabled.

(copy - paste from another thread - user has same question):

You has not, coincidentally, happens to record last Friday (I think it is?) episode of human target (what happened to be replaced by a House reruns), did you?
Reason I ask: it has been a little traffic on to thegreenbutton on the subject these days - and everyone who reported also arrived to try to save human target.  Somehow, the file finished with metadata is corrupted, what makes MC crash when you enter recorded TV (at best, it crashes when you select the program from the list.)
FIX: Open Explorer and go to C:\users\Public\Recorded TV.  Find and remove "human Target__"(exemple: «La Target_WDIVDT_2010_10_01».) ".
Start Media Center, and then try again.  Fixed?
