Scan to OCR

The HP Envy 5330 has the ability to scan and provide a power of OCR format to Windows 7?

Hello

Now many printers have no OCR software to go with them because in many cases, the software is more expensive than a printer. You can try:

  • How can I scan with OCR with my hp Photosmart 6510? I want to scan to a text of the parameter file.

I got a new Photosmart 6510 all-in-one printer. I have the ability to scan to a .jpg file ot a .tiff or a .pdf file - just like the pictures, no form of text that can be edited. On my old photosmart printer (a 2572) I was able to analyze OCR allows you to place the scanned document in a file with the Edition of the text, how can I do that with this new printer? I thought I was adding features, do not remove them. I use the 6510 wireless on a home network. I am also on the Windows Vista system.

    Thank you

    Hi nawa4,

Software OCR Iris didn't come included with this printer. If you have OCR software installed on your computer, you should be able to scan using this program. If you do not have an OCR program installed you can check the link below.

  • CONVERTING SCAN TO ocr TEXT FILE

I bought recently a new in the Deskjet One 4440.

I used the disk supplied with the device implementation, and installed the COMPLETE INSTALLATION.

I can't get the scanned document to save in a text file.  I even went online on the HP website and downloaded the new drivers and softwear nothing helps.

I have read all the data in the event of problem and discovered that the program does not include the part of OCR program.

OCR is what converts a document scanned into editable text.

In the end, I spent an hour and a half (1 & 1/2 hours) on the phone with HP Tech Support.  The technology was very polite and patient, but could not fix the problem either.  Technology has even tried adding download drivers and additional software.

    All to nothing does not.

It is the first HP printer scanner that I have ever owned, and so far I am very disappointed.

I never had such problems with more Lexmark printers and a single units, except for the price for replacement ink cartridges.

I still have a whole perfectly well and operational in a Lexmark, it's just more ink.

If anyone has an idea of what's wrong with my new HP, I would be very grateful for any help.

    Thank you very much

I have read many entries on the blog of people who have had the same problem.

The above download is a deffinate for problem solution.

  • Is it possible to make a drafting in bulk in a legal document without manually scanning and OCR the document?  For example, there is an add-on that I can buy that can accomplish my goal in Acrobat Pro

I work with legal documents throughout the day.  To submit supporting documents in the Court, the documents must be redacted statements inadmissible evidence. For example, information about the claims number, social insurance number, date of birth and date of birth must be redacted.  I want to know if there is a way to redact this information by a global search and replace rather than manually searching for information, which will be extremely laborious?  If not, is there a third-party application or add on that I can buy to use with Adobe Acrobat Pro, which will help me to achieve this goal?

Why not just use the Radaction tool provided with Acrobat Pro. It is quite sturdy and offers various possibilities. Review of help for a detailed study of the tool.

I talked to a technician and solve the problem.  For some reason any scanning HP app was not showing in the Mac Applications folder, which it is now. What I don't understand is what OCR really means because I just saved a scanned in the rich TEXT format document and it is editable. It wasn't always the case I think that scanning an image required OCR technology so that it can be modified according to me. So what is the point of the OCR now if it appears as saving an image as a RTF (or other format that I suspect) allows for editing?

    Thank you.

Sorry for the double post and I check this thread as resolved, although I'd love to hear my understanding of confusion OCR addressed.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8620: OCR without scan

I really like the feature "scan to OCR. This works remarkably well.

Is there a way to take an existing PDF and get the OCR function withiut analyzes the PDF file?

    Thank you.

    Hi @RCP45,

Thanks for joining the Forums of HP Support with your request.

I understand that you use a HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-all-in-one printer with a Windows 10 PC, and you have a PDF file that you want to change without having to scan him. I would like to help with that.

You're right, the "scan to OCR" can come in handy. There is no way to use the OCR software that comes with the printer software. If you are wanting to edit a PDF file without it first scans, there are third party software available that can help. Adobe Acrobat DC is a program that will edit the PDF option.

I also found that you can edit PDF files in Word format if you are using MS Office 2013 or 2016. Here is a support for MS Office document that can help with this - Edit PDF content in Word.

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance.

    Hello

I like you couldn't scan to OCR.

    A search revealed the following:

    http://ascomputerz.blogspot.fr/2011/03/missing-OCR-software-on-DeskJet.html

which led me to turn to what seems to be a site of files FTP HP = ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/ocragent/

When there is a word with the instructions doc (very easy - essentially keep the HP software and printer on) and (b) a 50 MB file that adds an IRIS OCR software to the current HP software.

I tried - and in a few minutes, I had my first .rtf (rich TEXT file) with well digitized living characters... Either way, it was a complicated document that has worked quite well 1st time out the door.

    and voila. Good hunting :-)

  • HP 7510: Can I scan to an OCR?

I have a HP 7510 printer/Scanner. I would like to know if I can scan to OCR output.

I get a pdf and jpg file when I press "Scan", but it is possible to obtain for scanning to OCR?

    Thanks in advance.

    Adam

    Hi Adam,.

Photosmart HP 7510 provides all the OCR features in the HP software.

You will need to use an OCR 3rd part software to achieve this functionality.

If you have Microsoft Office on your PC, some versions of provide the functionality as part of the OCR software:

    1. Microsoft OneNote in Office 2010
    2. MS Office Document Imaging and Scanning in Office 2003 or 2007.

    Kind regards

  • HP Scan Pro not working not not on HP PSC 1510 while using Mac OS 10.6.8

    Hello all-

Like others, I've updated my old MacBook Pro to Snow Leopard 10.6.8 operating system and have had problems using the scanner on my HP PSC 1510 all-in-One.

After uninstalling the old HP software through Apple Software Update, print my HP PSC 1510 and I can scan a document to a TIFF, PDF, etc. using the capture preview and go to the system preferences and select the Print & Fax.    However, it is no longer I can scan to OCR, that was the biggest part of my job.

I use HP Scan Pro v. 7.4.5, part of v. 1.4.7 HP Device Manager.  HP Device Manager "sees" my HP PSC 1510, but when I use HP Scan Pro, the scanner starts, starts the search, and I get the dialog box "error - Sorry, an unknown error has occurred."

Any suggestions or advice?  Thanks in advance!

    -Brendan

    Hello

The HP Scan Pro is an older application, intended for older versions of Mac OS X 10.54 ot.

Complete Feautre solution software is no longer available for 10.6, scanning is possible via picture Capture, preview and print & fax. Advanced features like OCR are no longer available as part of the provided solution:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01846935

You can check 3rd party applications like Read Iris, OmniPage OCR, etc..
