  I got my scanner to work. I downloaded on my old PC (W7) the driver for W8.1, trasfered the driver through a USB to my new copmputer (W10) and executed the file exe from the pilot. And Yes, the worrks scan correctly now.

  I have just updated to windows 10 Windows 7. My scanner (Scanjet G3010) is no longer works or is presented as a program or a hardware device, is there an update for the software and drivers available so that I can recharge my scanner? If this is not the case, is there a work around possible available to bring the scanner in service.

  I ran the Print and Scan doctor without success. However to check the properties of the device, it indicates that no driver is installed. After a lot of research have found a web site which will provide a driver for the scanner G3010 for use with windows 10. Site is as follows:- www.filedrivers.com.

  I downloaded the required windows 10 driver the scanner is now fully operational.

• Why my 8600 more will not automatically send scanned documents in a monthly record of my scans?

  My old HP Scanjet G3010 used automatically set up a new folder each month inside the main "My Scans" folder and automatically send the documents to the current monthly folder and would automatically name the docs (scan0001, scan0002).

  It seems that the HP 8600 most does not.  Is there a place to put in place a framework, or is this not possible with this device?

  The Officejet Pro 8600 series uses different drivers than the series Scanjet. For the Officejet, you should be able to change the base file name (while this isn't always 'Scan' 001) and the destination folder. I'll check on mine and see if it creates a new folder for each month.

  If it does not create a folder new month, then you should be able to use the scan of third party software that can provide the same functionality. Otherwise, you can create a new folder each month yourself and set it as the default scanning directory.

  I recently migrated a number of graphic designers from 10.5.x/CS3 to 10.6.x/CS5. One of them has problems with a HP ScanJet G3010. The HPScan software worked well as an import (TWAIN device) of Photoshop CS3, but she would like to be able to do the same thing in CS5. I downloaded and installed the plugins that include TWAIN (because they are now separated), and I made sure the software HPScan was later (not updated since March, but that the devil). Despite this, the scanner does not come up as a choice in CS5. Are there other settings that I can check? Anything else I should be uninstall?   Most of TWAIN drivers only supports 32-bit, you may need to run Photoshop in 32-bit mode to use the driver.

  In addition, there is a reason we did optional TWAIN - a lot of pilots are crash prone.

• G3010 Scanner Twain and WIA problem

  I ran the scan above with XP 32 with no problems.  I had initially installed Vista 64 on my computer back in 2007 but judged incompatible with most of my software and reluctantly bought the XP operating system.  So I never tried the scanner at this time with Vista.  I recently reinstalled my Vista OS and immediately had problems with the scanner: IE the utility said daignostic that windows image service was not etc.  Jump to the next stage of the race, and he had problems with both side too.  Uninstalled, reinstalled, tried everything.  My operating system later developed a Trojan horse after reluctantly downloading some of these utility scans of disc.  So I had to reinstall my OS and so decided to install Windows 7 32 bit.  Everything works great except, you comment it, HP scanner.  My HP Photosmart printer is fine.  I downloaded all the latest drivers, software and patches for the scanner G3010 from the HP Web site but the end upward with the same problem.  My computer installed drivers and software ok and the test operate the scanner, but simply stops at the WIA and twain check steps.  I read up a bit on WIA but would appreciate any help.  It was suggested that I post this question before you pay for the HP support.  I almost came to the conclusion that this scanner was not supported by Vista or 7, but I've read that others are in fact using the scanner with these BONES.  Any help would be appreciated.  Obviously, it is not my hardware that is the problem that the scanner still works perfectly on my other XP machine.  However, I have the same problem on my laptop Vista 32.  If need help!  Thank you!

  Just thought I would update everyone on the above problem.  I managed to solve the problem in the end.  It was then that I was looking through the services section to the good old XP (Control Panel and in administrative tools) that I noticed the WIA (Windows Image Activation) service.  So I looked at this article in Windows 7.  The Service is set to automatic in XP Home and was launched.  It made me realize that the service cannot be started in the case of Windows 7 (I was correct and this related to what the utility of diagnosis HP told me).   This has been set to automatic as needed but not able to start because of two services person to charge: 1) Remote Procedure Call and detection hardware core 2).  These may not usually necessary in the system of windows more recent but are required for some devices, etc.  The WIA service required me so to start both of these two other services (it can also be process required for your HP device that may have to start.)  However, on this operation, the HP Diagnostic Utility Advanced and filled the WIA of the test stage, allowing me to analyze with the Microsoft Paint program.  However, the test has failed on the stage of the HP Twain, even after a reboot.  So I decided to uninstall and reinstall the software G3010.  I followed to the letter and then open the HP Solution software and this is the symbol of the scanner for the first time, was present and could be chosen.  Shame, I have bought a new OS before taking the time to solve the problems, but arrived in the end.  Hope this helps someone.  Well, it is the people.  So if you want something done, well 'do it yourself.'

  I don't know, but your manual or to the unit or the power supply will tell you.  If it has a transformer online, look at the specs on the transformer.  If this is not the case, look at the back or the underside of the unit.

  You will need to get a different plug to the wall, but you already knew that, right?

  I was not able to get Windows 7 to recognize the driver for my HP Scanjet scanner on my new HP Pavilion Elite a9200z desktop computer.  I tried to install the original driver delivered with the software that not only failed, but it was necessary to do a system restore to an earlier date.  After downloading the software update and the driver on the HP website (for the XP operating system.   Thank you for your response.  I posted the same question to the Board of Directors Microsoft as well.  One of the technicians gave me a link to a website that has software in support of scanners which pilots the manufacturer has not, for some reason, took worth to upgrade to Windows Vista or Windows 7.  I installed Vuescan driver bundled with the program which works perfectly, and my scanner HP Scanjet scanner 5370c is upward and great in Windows 7.  They have a list of more than 100 scanners supported by the program.  So, anyone interested should check the list before you buy the program.  No, the program is not free, but it is much cheaper ($39.95) that pitching on a scanner perfectly ideal of work and having to buy a new one.    Anyway, if anyone is interested in the possibility of using their scanner ' is no longer supported "with Windows 7, the website below might help.
