Hi all

I did a quick search but you have not found any topic related to my question. Just bought an A99 and am looking for a compatible intervalometer.

Suggestions?

Thank you

Steve

I use it on my A77, works like a charm and must be the same on the A99 motorway:

    Hello

I have a question for shooting video on the A99 motorway. When I chose the M (manual setting of the photo) on the recording of the camera and press the shutterspeed automatically adjust when moving in a different light setting. My question is how can I disable this? I put it on manual without a bit of luck.

Now when I turn to the video mode on the camera I can choose the MANUAL mode and then I can adjust the shutterspeed and apenture, but then I can't use the magnifying glass to focus.

In conclusion I want to use the parameter M on the camera so I can use the magnifying glass to focus, but how do I set the shutterspeed and apenture?

    Kind regards

    Hello Sam,.

Unfortunately, the Focus Magnifer function is not available in video mode.

  • A99 HDMI output 24 p?

    Good time of day,

I am writing here to ask if it is possible to record 24 p / 25 p on HDMI to an external recorder?

To my knowledge, a camera can produce 60 p and 60i on the HDMI.

In the settings of the device it has no option to select a frequency of best images, in my case, 24 p, only an option between 1080 p and 1080i.

So is it possible to output 24 p / 25 p on HDMI.

    Thanks in advance,

    Alan K

    appparently the motorway A99 exit 50i or 50 p.

If other formats are needed, then pull down in post processing.

What field recorder you use (or want to)

    Kind regards

    Michael

  • A99 and photoshop cs5

I am the proud owner of a sony a99, but I do not see what I draw on photoshop cs5, or same-cs6... What do I do?

    pls reply to [email protected]

    Thank you

Download the Adobe's DNG Converter. It is downloadable for free on their site. This will covert your files current so that photoshop can read raw A99. It's what you have to do and it's free. Download now before Adobe thicket in the cloud.

  • A99 magnifying glass

Anyone has any suggestions on a good magnifying glass to the A99 motorway?

    Thank you

    Kirk

Unfortunately, we do not manufacture magnifiers magnifying glass for A99 cameras yet. We currently have lemons for an older DSLR, and we have no information when it currently exists in the A99 boxes but feel free to check out this link http://store.sony.com/ from time to time for possible availability or release of this accessory.

For now, you might want to try the steps below to the development of precision:

    1. Set your camera to manual focus

    2. Press Fn and find fashion Focus

    3. Once the highlight Mode, set it to the DMF

    4. Press the Smart teleconverter button

Note: You can do the focus ring to refine the development while pressing the shutter button halfway down.

If you choose to use a magnifying glass magnifying glass you can see the third-party manufacturers, however, we cannot confirm the compatibility of these magnifiers as we have not tested.

  • intervalometer

Hello... I'm new to this forum and have some questions that I could not find.

Also I have no experience with music of the time, but I want to try.

Can anyone recommend a decent intervalometer for a rebel T5i EOS 700 d?

    And what about battery life?

I was hoping to do a night session (8 hours)... the camera battery that would last a long time?

Or I have to but a battery?

And if I set my camera to 'auto off' the intervalometer to recognize and awaken the camera between takes?

Sorry for the stupid questions and thank you for any help...

  • compatibility Memory Stick A99

I was not able to use Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo in my a99 without receiving an error message.

The media I am using is Sony Memory Stick Duo PRO-HG / HX 16 GB

When I insert the card, try to shoot or replay, I get the following message. "This memory card is perhaps not able to record and play normally." Slot 1 "

Now when it appears, I am able to get inside simply by pressing the shutter button or the play button. But it's very annoying.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks for your reply. I came to the conclusion that the sticks of memory are defective. My w has a Cybershot pocket camera. I installed the card in its cybershot and received the same error message.

To answer your question, SD cards work fine. I think I'll stick with SD cards in the future...

    Thanks again.

  • Sony a99 and flashes wireless

I bought a second one for flash my a99 recently in hopes of using 2 flashes in mode without wire - but, unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work (or maybe I'm doing somehting wrong)

I have f56 and Sony f42. F56 is set in wireless mode (the Red led blinks) and my f42 lies on the camera (connected through the adapter) and it is also set in wireless menu mode (Fn key). Tried to change these 2 flashes autour but one that is not connected to the camera never fires.

Any ideas on what I might hurt?

This is what I understand of these cards, wireless remote control, no trigger.

In the note, they say that they require the F58 F43, models.
They are the new models that provide wireless (trigger) controllers

    http://photo-tips-online.com/news/2011/Sony-HVL-f43am-Flash-vs-Sony-HVL-f42am-Flash/
As he mentions here, the F42 cannot be a *, so that even if the F56 had the function of wireless control, the F42 doesn't have the remote function to use.

But from the charts, I'm sure that the F56 isn't a wireless trigger - but I could be wrong.

However, even if it is possible, even once, the F42 hate.

If your only option is to have the main flash triggering the other flash via flash. If I remember correctly, is that optical trigger - based on another source of light flash to be triggered.

Then put the second flash * mode and the main firearms with the camera.

If you plan to have two cameras off camera, you will need to use a separate radio trigger, so you can wireless trigger for both.

  • Simple Eye - fi a99 / Wi - Fi card Firmware Adjustments - REQUESTED

The a99 wi - fi slot feature is almost usable, but it lacks features simple and make it useful.  What follows is requested for improvement through an update of the firmware:

    1. allow the user to specify which card to save video files to in a double card independent adjustment of the jpeg + RAW sort.

    Why is it useful?

Many users use an eye - fi / SD wi - fi for the transmission of small JPEG images using a card of high capacity and high speed SD for RAW files.  When you use jpeg + Raw sorting and shooting video, video files supported voluminous record into the slot 1 - the only one that takes an eye-fi/wi-fi card that are of smaller capacity (maximum 16 GB available) and slower.  It would be extremely useful to separately indicate where to save the video files, so you can record on a greater capacity, a faster card in slot 2 (and do not mix with the JPEG images low resolution for import purposes).  So small JPEG would save the wifi to slot 1 card, while the FIRST & video files could save to slot 2.

2 allows the user to assign the 'Protect the Image' function to a button while reviewing the images via the playback mode.

    Why is it useful?

Often, it is not feasible (due to connection limits) or undesirable to transmit images.  So users use the eye - fi function to pass only the selected images.  On a Sony camera, a user specifies these selected images by setting them to be protected.  The current workflow of the image protection is heavy and buried in the menu structure.  It is much easier to be able to protect an image just when reviewing it via the playback mode.  One of the buttons could be assigned to a key to 'protect' then in the game / image view mode (the key can return to its original during filming function).  This is useful beyond transmission wi - fi - protect images is unecessarily currently heavy treatment.

    CASE STUDY

I currently use a Canon camera + transmitter wireless transmission of images due to these problems rather than my a99.  For some events, I transfer more small jpeg copies in a folder on the computer for live view images on the monitors for customers to see.  They are taken to review the customer only in the moment.  I don't bother import so the card for that game simply lives in the unit because the FIRST important & video files save on the main map.  I would like to be able to use a Sony camera to do this but not until it's faster to select the images to be transferred and then choose which card to save video to.  While my example is specific to my needs, I know that a lot of users will benefit the small changes that will yield improvements in usability.

Any chance that Sony updates ever the a99 to allow the user to record video files to map 2, when shooting Jpeg/Raw sort?

  • A99 with SB900 off camera. What wireless trigger buy?

    Hello

I just move slowly through the world of the digital SLR. I have an A99 and a friend gave me a SB900 flash. I would like to try off-camera Flash so was going to pruchase a Pocket Wizard mini configuration.

Does anyone have experience with a SB900 and a working wireless A99?

In addition, when it is mounted on the camera the TTL parameter is not firing the flash so I use just manual. Would it be a problem of no compatibility Vs nikon Sony?

Any help much appreciated, has soon!

A wireless, such as Pocket Wizard radio trigger can be mounted on the claw of the appliance and trigger a flash off-camera. You can refer to the operating instructions of the wizard of pocket for more information.

The measurement of your camera system and the flash is not compatible. Indeed, you may have to resort to manual settings when you mount the flash directly on the camera body.

  • I use CS3 & with 7.2 download still cannot open the Raw files of the camera Sony A99

It is a real setback until compatibility occurs. Someone at - it the answer?

    Hi ecoessays1,

Unfortunately the CS3 does not support the Camera Raw plugin 7.2. Here is a list of Applications Adobe compatible Raw. In the list, you can see that Photoshop CS3 only supports Camera Raw 4.0 through 4.6. That being said, the list of cameras supported plugin Raw indicates that you need at least 7.2 plugin.

That being said, you'll need to upgrade your version of the CS6 software or creative cloud (CC) to support Camera Raw on your Sony A99. 11 elements of Photoshop and Lightroom 4.2 and above all also supports Camera Raw for your camera model.

    I hope this helps!

  • Lightroom v. 3.6 and Sony A99 RAW does not match

I recently bought the new Sony A99 camera, but it seems that l.v. 3.6 does not support this (new aparently) type of RAW images.

What I have to buy the L.v.4 or can I use c. 3.6 with change some settings?

    Thank you

If you want to stay with raw files, either switch to Lightroom 4 (4.2 or later is required) or you can download the free Adobe DNG Converter and convert your raw files to DNG, which would then be recognized by your current version of 3.6 LR.

  • A99 problems, needs an Urgent Firmware update!

while making sure, you are aware of that:

There is a problem of disappeared with the a99 and video vg900:

Take a look at the dpreview forum and other clients

many have returned the camera back because of this problem

so it's worth to check and give a quick solution

    It's probably a codec/compression problem

Here are a few quotes from the Forum

can be very restrictive pass filter or done something another twisted with 24 to 2 megapixels to the bottom of the video conversion

SteadyShot & auto focus video done a few questions

AF mode - D do not work in video mode, also something small in the continue autofocus in video mode

some problems of aliasing and moire in video

NEX-VG900 has the same problems of video

When it is connected to ninja 2 these questions have disappeared

but the only problem is that atomos ninja 2 supports only 1080i not 1080 p at 60 fps

so that means when I turned the slow movement, I have to settle for the camera video

problems with the video resolution (as well as micro-begaiement with AF on). The moiré and aliasing is much worse than the a77 and there is a general lack of detail and sharpness.

None of these things occur in stills mode, if however the camera down - converts image (line jumping, binning, whatever) has a serious flaw and I hope Sony can fix that.

also people are disappointed that the hdmi output is 8 and not 10 bits

Anyway, please correct that as soon as possible.

many people are confused about the purchase of this camera

    because of this problem.

the camera has a great potential and takes great stills

I want to see that it takes great videos too

    Thank you

Note to Sony: it's scary.  I recently bought an A99, and I can see the value of my investment deteriorate before my eyes because of the video problem.

The A99 motorway is a great camera.  I'll post an Amazon review that will notice little still-photograph of magic that even your own people do not seem to have discovered.

You have chosen to ignore the countless complaints the wrong balance of sharpness and noise processing in the A900, and bash people yet a sound performance of the device.  The video problem is even more serious.  It needs to be fixed yesterday!  Your loyal customers are countiing on you.  You cannot afford to let us down again.

  • System Audio XLR - K1M & Sony A99 / how to import 2 audio tracks?

As stated in the subject, I use a XLR - K1M with a Sony A99 and I can't seem to find a way so that it can record 2 channels at once.

I can keep it on the channel 1/2 to save, but when I bring it in adobe first he comes in as 1 track audio instead of 2 audio tracks separated.  Am I missing a step here?

Non-linear editing, a tool that should be part of Adobe first. Unfortunately we don't really support third-party software. The goal is to separate the channels into two separate tracks. Contact Adobe for additional help.
