ScanJet G3110 - 'unable to communicate with the scanner' error message

This Scanjet has worked well over the years.

I don't remember making any changes, but now when I click on any option (for example copy or scan to email... all options) I get the error «unable to communicate with scanner» HP

When I click on "Preferences of the Scanner", the Apple preferences page with a popup that reads:

To use the "HP Scanjet", preferences preferences pane system must leave and reopen it.

I click OK and system preferences change to 'Preferences system (32-bit)'

I click on the HP icon and it opens to "no value / not connected".

I have reset the scanner; have you checked all connections... no change.

I put on computer.

The scanner scans noise when it starts up.

But when I press the "scan" button (or any button) on the scanner itself, nothing happens.

Using OS X 10.6.7

Any ideas?

Hello nikhil_gupta

The Scanjet series of scanners is of commercial products. I suggest you post in the HP Business Support forum for a better chance to find a solution, because it's the boards of HP for the consumer and there are people less familiar with this product range.

You will find the Board Commercial Scanjet here.

    Hi @Flash1688,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see that you are unable to communicate with the Scanner with your HP Officejet Pro 6830 on Windows 8.1. I'm happy to help you!

If you just try to make a copy with the printer, it works? You see on the screen of the printer error messages? Copy of Documents. Also, if you lift the lid of the scanner during the copy process, you see a light come ON and the scanner bar moving?

In the meantime, please, try the procedure described in this guide, a message 'no computer found' for HP Officejet 6810 and HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-all-in-one printerand let me know what happens!

  • HP 2510 "Unable to communicate with the printer" error.

    Greetings,

    I recently bought a Deskjet all-in-one of HP 2510. I'm running on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

When I try to print documents, the printer comes with the following error:

    http://i.imgur.com/uwK8MNq.PNG

Try to use the print and scan tool doctor, I find a conflict report of driver:

    http://i.imgur.com/B9NCkTQ.PNG

Thus, after following the instructions, I uninstalled and reinstalled as indicated (in taking very special care to make exactly as shown in the installation instructions). Errors still occur.

I tried to delete the printer from the Device Manager, uninstalled the drivers of the various related devices out there, uninstalled the full software features using Add/Remove...then tried reinstalling again. I even tried to foregoing the installations CD and website (Yes, I tried both) and let Windows automatically installs the drivers. Always the same two errors original.

It sucked to the top of my Sunday together. Someone saw?

I managed to go today to get the USB power cord and it has indeed solved my problems. It seems that the USB cord that works with older models is not compatible with this printer, so that's been my problem.

Fortunately, the new cord works perfectly and I was able to print two pages of perfect test.

I apologize for my frustrated shattered earlier and thank you for your help.

Whenever I open my computer, I received a message that says 'Error when unpacking program, Code 2, please contact the author'.  It slows me down using my computer and I really have no idea what it is.  I did research in the internet which causes some possible for this error message and I think it's regarding my Windows Update I must have clicked on last week.  Help, please! I really want this message to go.

    Thank you.

    Hi KrystleRivera,

    ·         Did you the latest changes on the computer before this problem?

    ·         When the question began?

    ·         What version of the operating system is installed on the computer?

I suggest you follow these methods.

Method 1:  Start the computer in safe mode with network and check if the problem persists.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

If the problem does not persist in SafeMode with network, perform a clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.

Method 2: Temporarily disable the security software .

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

  • Unable to communicate with the printer HP 4630

Continue error message of "Unable to communicate with the printer." Even when connected by USB.

Have reinstalled the software several times, checked the wireless (no problem), printed many pages of configuration directly from the printer.

I keep trying to add the printer to my preferences. One thing is that it will only add like a scanner or fax, a PRINTER. It is also called Hello Scanner. Why can't I add as a printer?

Now, it will not also let me COMPLETE reinstallation of the software, it freezes at the section add printer and I can't move forward. So frustrating...

    Help!

    Hi @PKahn

It seems that the computer does not recognize the print driver.

We will reset the printing system, repair disk permissions, add the printer using the driver and try to start a new search.

    Reset the printing system

    1. Click on the Apple icon ( ), then click on System Preferences.

  • Error: "unable to communicate with the TWAIN device" with brother MFC7820N

Original title: can I connect a scanner through a switch?

I'm trying to analyze something like I did it many times with my brother MFC7820N hung on my tablet. But recently, I replaced a 2nd router I had in my system that failed with a new Dynex switch.

I have my internet modem and 2 computers connected to a Linksys wireless router. I have another ethernet cable connecting the router to a new switch. I have my 2 printers attached to the switch. One is a Brother HL-2700CN color laser and the other is a brother MFC7820N mutli-function. It use PaperPort to scan stuff on him, since provided on the CD with the device.

So today I open PaperPort and click the Scan button and it appeared an error saying unable to communicate with the TWAIN device box.

So I clicked on a doc shown in PaperPort that I had scanned a few weeks ago and I click right and select Print and printed to this MFC7820N.

Then I come back to click on scanner again and yet again, it appears that box. So I watch and WIA-Brother MFC-7820N LAN is displayed in the Scanner marked drop-down list box. So I switched the power of the MFC and tried again and it still appeared that same box again.

OUCH! I'm going nuts! You have any ideas?

I have a HP Officejet 6500 a Plus E710n-z.  He has in the past, but is no longer connects (by wireless) to my computer (Apple OSX 10.8.4).  It became intermittent in the last month, and then did not answer at all.  I had a growing list of items to be printed.

    I followed each step- http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02205477 .

WiFi to each is not a problem.

The printer has been disconnected (deleted) as the printer from the computer.  I was able to add in the part 'scanner' printer, but cannot add to the printer - it has the message "unable to communicate with the printer.

    What should I do next?

I you sent a private message with the steps you need to perform the reset.

  • Questions of UPD on 4700dn printer - unable to communicate with the printer

    Hello!

I'm testing the UPD on my laptop which has Windows 7 64 bit on my network printers all in my building. All network printers work fine except one... Color LaserJet 4700dn.

When you use the UPD interface when you try to print, I try to use the IP address of the printer and it cannot connect. "When you use the search for network printers option, it recognizes the printer, but when I try to connect, I get the error ' unable to communicate with the printer.

I changed the host name of the printer, changed the IP address on this subject, I can ping the printer and print using the print server, I rebooted the printer... Even got a older laptop that has Windows 7 32-bit and used the UPD 32 bits and the same symptoms occur.

Any ideas because I hit a brick wall.

    Thank you very much!

Looks like you can set up a standard port and print ok from a print server.  The UPD in the stream you describe will attempt to make multiple calls SNMP to determine the abilities of the printer, and those who are failing, causing the UPD to throw the error you see.

Take a look at the network settings in the SAP.  Specifically, under Security, management of the protocols and the SNMP tab.  Watch to see if one of these parameters differ from other devices that work, like maybe SNMP is disabled on the YOA 4700n.

  • CP1525nw: new router: cp1525nw wifi install fails with the vague error message

    Product: HP Laserjet Pro cp1525nw

    OS: WIndows 8.1

    Hardware: Computer Asus laptop

Recently received new router from Verizon (FIOS), model FQG1100 BHR4 router

    Purchase printer in 2012.

Printer has worked with the old router; It will not communicate with the new router.

For four days I deleted the printer from the laptop several times and tried to reinstall using the wifi. Installation instructions say to run the CD, select wifi, connect the USB cable when prompted, configure, remove the cable when prompted.

When I attach the USB cable, Setup starts, but it expires ("taking too long") or fails with the vague message about not finding the product. I'm never invited to an SSID.

I tried a USB installation and it worked; If the USB cable is good.

Share print files & Windows is activated.

I tried to re - adjust the printer by default and insured menu wifi said 'ON' for the wifi.

I run a wireless network test report:

SWITCH for wireless, wireless and security.

Failure of network name (SSID found).

DO NOT RUN for: printer settings consistent with the settings of the wireless router, no filtering, connected, the signal strength, other networks detected.

    Wireless netwrorks detected: 9

I note the router label does not say "SSID", but said "ESSID".

I have ideas for what to try.

Please post here or send message to [personal information deleted]

Last night I finally got to work.  I removed the printer entirely from the PC and rebooted. I turned off the printer. I ran a cable to the router (cable modem). I have reset the router, which then assigned an IP address to the printer. I changed the security settings on the router to use WEP instead of WPA. I ran the HP printer, Setup - and he finally presented me with the screen to "provide the SSID.  The program is run properly. I printed a test page. I changed the router security to WPA2. I printed a test page.     I tried to restart it and reprinted.  I also tried to remove the cable and then print again - printing failed.

In short, I needed to do two things: connect a cable and change the router temporarily WEP for installation.

In my case, my printer is close enough to the router with the cable.  A bit disappointing that the true wireless will not work, but I can print wireless from my laptop.

I saw how many people have had the same problem, I had, and how much of HP is of any help to solve this problem.  I am convinced that the printer has a defect.  I hope that my posts will be useful to a few people having the same problem.

  • CRM using SQL database in an environment of small business often inaccessible with the following error message

    Hello

This is my first time on this forum so bear with my ignorance!  I'll expose the background of my setup and then explain the error.

We have a small business with a server running SBS2011 and PC running Windows 8 and 8.1 connected to the server in a domain environment.

We use a CRM product called Emu Tall that uses SQL Server 2008 R2 on the server for the database and the PC run a local application that connects to this database.

On a daily basis, but completely randomly and sometimes several times a day, a user will try and open the application on a PC and get the following error message.

Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.SqlServer.SqlEnum, Version = 10.0.0.0, Culture = neutral, PublicKeyToken = 89845dcd8080cc91' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the specified file.

At first, I thought it must be a matter of waiting time as it seemed to happen every morning, but I've proved since that it occurs at any time of the day and is apparently unrelated to amount of users or idle time or something like that.

Here's another oddity that hopefully sheds some light on it. If I go to the server and open the CRM application on the server, it works very well since it is only the PC that have the connection problem.  In addition, as soon as I connected to the server of any PC can connect immediately (until it happens again later in the day).  I don't need to stay connected to the server, connect one time and close the session and he "fixed" it for a few hours for all PC users.

I contacted the CRM vendor, and they are completely confused and have no idea what to do.

We are trolling along at the moment with me opening a session on the server for launch launch whenever a user receives the error message but it is far from satisfactory.

A final observation is that it does not always.  It used to work fine.  The problem began just two months ago and seems to coincide with the increase in our user from 5 to 12 users license even if the CRM provider swear that it is nothing to do with the license.  They may agree; I don't know enough to argue the point.

Any help will be appreciated! I'm sure it will be a simple solution and someone there will know why and the answer immediately but is elusive at this time.
