  I bought a scanner LiDE 220 from Amazon and installed yesterday. So far I like it really - especially the Auto Scan function that figures on what you scan and crop it for you. I love it so much that I ordered another today for my wife's computer. I have a question, however. The scanner has no power switch. It is powered by a USB connection and requires no additional energy source. Is it possible to leave it connected to the computer and turned on all the time the computer is turned on, or would it be better to plug the cable into the USB port only when the scan is complete and disconnect the device at another time? So far, I have left it connected all the time. The scanner performs a slight noise when the computer wakes up from sleep, but this doesn't seem to be a problem.

  It's good to let the USB cable from the scanner connected to the computer at any time; However, if you prefer, you can unplug the cable and just plug in when you want to use the scanner.

  You can scan multiple pages into a single document with the scan PDF option.  Use the following steps to do:

  1. open MP Navigator.

  2. click on a Clcik.

  3. click Save to PC.

  4. change the Type of PDF file to PDF (multiple pages).

  5 other changes, as needed, and then click Scan.

• Canon MP Navigator stopped working with scanner. Worked under Vista, not Win 7.

  Scanner Canon Lide 200 worked very well under Vista 64.  I've updated on Win 7 64 and the software interface has stopped working - "MP Navigator EX has stopped working".  That's a BEX error module fault MSONSEXT. DLL_unloaded.  I uninstalled, downloaded the newest and reinstalled, same problem.  Canon had me create a new profile, the program works in this profile.  Canon has written it's rights or licensing of the OS.

  The scanner works with other software.  MP Navigator is a resident program for making copies or copy and email, etc..

  I had the same problem with Win 7 64. I talked to Support Canon technique and after an hour in which we tested several things, I was told the problem was with Windows and I need to contact Microsoft. I tried to create a new profile that has fixed the problem for about a week, then he came back again! The question may be associated with Windows Update, but I'm not sure. On this last go I created a new profile and then copied to the folders and files from the corrupted profile one at a time to see when the problem would be to start over. After carefully copy of files, save, test Mp Navigator, and if necessary to restore the last good configuration I discovered that the following file was the cause of the problem:

  C:\Users\\App Data\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Network Shortcuts\My Web Sites on MSN

  Note: This file was not present in my new profile. In addition, the icon has the shortcut on that marker, but explore announces that it is a folder. There is no file extension.

  I then copied ALL the other bad profile data to the new and MP Navigator still worked! I then deleted the file in question from the wrong profile and MP Navigator started working there too!

  I then reconfigured all my software and IE etc for the first time by looking at the network shortcuts folder. The file in question has not yet reappeared. I made a shortcut to this place, I can keep an eye on it to see when it appears again.

  I hope someone at CANON or Microsoft will fix this issue of profile "corrupt."

• All the drivers are updated for my scanner, but it still does not work?

  I tried to "update drivers" for my CanoScan LiDE 200 just in case, but he said that all drivers are already updated. But when I press "scan" on my scanner, it nothing happens; It does not work! I went to "scan profiles", through the "Scanners" Wizard and when I tried to add my scanner, he said:

The lid seems set in a Grove with a couple of languages that go into the slots when the lid is on the printer as it should be, but if I lift the lid to put a document on the scanner lid slide because it is not attached to the printer with hinges. • HP Envy 5530 not print Word Document correctly / Jam

  I am having several problems with my HP Envy 5530. It says there is no paper in the tray when there's at least 50-75 pages into the tray. Then it will say paper (which is the standard of printing paper) is too short. It will start to print a page then says "Ink drying" and sucks the paper in the printer, causing a traffic jam. This happens several times. Then I fish the paper from the printer and that paper is unusable. I lost a lot of paper on this printer. When I get a word document to print, it does not print correctly. This is a 2 page document and it will print a piece of the first page at the bottom of the page with a gap from the beginning of the second page on top. All on the same sheet of paper. What I don't want at all. It is not at all my first problem with this printer. I am happy to my other question about color printing has been resolved, but it's not good. The scanner lid broke also. I feel like it was a bad purchase and I never had so many problems with my printer until I bought an HP printer. Not a good use of money and I think to return if possible.

  I'm sorry to hear that the printer keeps jamming and you get an 'out of paper' error message when there is a lot of paper in the paper tray. I want to help you.

  I would like to do a hard reset to see if that will solve the problem.

  Let the printer and disconnect the printer cable and the wall socket for 60 seconds.
  Reconnect the power cable to the output of the printer and the wall, and not a surge protector.
  This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

  Try and print a self-test on the printer hardware to see if it is a hardware or software problem.
